Design Room was too cold and heating was not properly.
excellent value for the quality since it was opened for only two days there were some unfinished details that need to be polished.
Close to airport, funky, clean, friendly staff. Not close to many restaurants, not many food options.
very practical located no door in the wc and no room heating
Did not like how open the rooms were, no privacy for the bathroom or shower. Would like some separation in the room!
The noise of the railway on 25th November during the night was so loud that my partner & I had no sleep that evening. In fact I would request a refund as the vibrations & noise werer so disruptive & invasive
Very beautiful and strange
Large and comfortably beds. Fair Price. 20-30 Min to Centraal Station via Tram The Rooms have no Windows! You even cant see whats the weather like. As we entered the room it was very stinky and we couldnt get some fresh air, because there is no window... And the worst: the bathroom is not separated the room. the toilet is right behind the bed, seperated by one wall but without any door. even if you love your partner there is absolutly no privatsphere. i would never book a hotel like this again.
The bed is very good!
Second stay in the last month at the Qbic. Great hotel, incredible beds and great price.
light effects and king size bed rooms smaller than in pictures,no door for bathroom
For such a low price, I was impressed with the ease of travelling to the city centre, great public transport links. No privacy when using the toilet! You could not stay in these rooms with someone unfamiliar, it wouldn't be too hard to at least put a screen up.
It was a wonderful hotel. Beautiful room overlooking a canal. Very clean and decorated well. The breakfast was lovely and included an option to order off a menu. I would give it a higher start rating and highly recommend it. Nothing.
Great looking room with a lot of care put into the decor; breakfast area with deck on the canal. Poor ventilation in the bathroom--not so good if you are travelling with a companion!
This is a room in a private house and not a hotel. The owner, Fokko, is extremely helpful and helped us with carrying our luggage up some very steep stairs. Location excellent, clean, like Amsterdam rooms, very small, but well planned. Tiny but well equipped bathroom, kitchen in a small closet inthe rrom, again well equipped. The room wsa so small, there was hardly any place to open the bags or hang clothes. But this is what one would expect in a city like Amsterdam, that too centrally located and for the price.
Close to a metro station for quick transfer from Centre Station and airport. Lovely canal side house with 4 apartments. We were in the Duke suite in the eaves of the house. Plenty big enough for the 3 of us. Quiet location but easy to walk into the city centre and to all important sites. Close to a supermarket for buying provisions although there were basic ingredients left in the apartment. The owner was very accommodating and we would definitely stay here again. Significantly better value than staying in a hotel and much more atmospheric. There are 65 steep steps from the front door to the apartment. No lift!
Small hotel with only 4 rooms; feels more like a house. The owner - friendly, helpful - lives on the first floor. Clean, functional rooms. Great location, 15 mins walk to the Centre along the canal. Hotel is noisy! Walls are thin and it being an older house with creaky staircase etc. one can hear pretty much all the movement in the hallways at night, incl. a shower running next door early in the morning. The solution would be simple - wear earplugs!- which we unfortunately did not bring.
Dukes Suite: Spacious room, good size fridge, bathroom was also a good size, Double Bed (2 singles attached) was comfortable, got our own set of keys to get in and out.The owner was also very nice and friendly. Because we were in the Dukes Suite which is at the very top so we had 4 flights of steep stairs to climb, but didn't really bother us.
the room was excellent, it was cleaned and confortable.
Comfort and convenience None
value of the hotel steep narrow stairs getting to the top floor
the room, its kitchenette and bathroom I would rather prefer a double bed instead of twin beds
Lovely room with a nice view of the canal. The bathtub was amazing for jet lag recovery.
nice and clean room, close to tram stop-easy to get to central station, good value for money we haven't space to keep our clothes -in triple room was only rail with few hangers, no shelves or wardrobe
Style and comfort of the room, great location, park outside.Lots of information on where to go. breakfast delivered to the room every day.
Clean, comfortable rooms. Very helpful staff (Martin). Relatively quiet neighborhood. Nice roof terrace. Ample breakfast.
The service of the staff. Good information on what to see in Amsterdam. The cleaning of the room. The breakfast.
Very friendly atmosphere, kind and helpful hoteliers (Martin & Franz – keep on doing this way!), quite place close to see sights, abundant and yummy breakfast
A lovely clean and friendly hotel in a fantastic location.
Before leaving we knew about good opinions about this hotel, but when we arrived we saw with pleasure that everything we heard about it is true. The hotel is situated in cental position and well served by the public transports. The service is excellent and the rooms are extremely comfortable and clean. The breakfast is great. The owners are very frendly and their suggestions are so usefull for your holiday in Amsterdam! Good choice!
Attention to details was excellent along with the accommodations. The owners were most friendly and informative as to sites to visit, restaurants and shops. Great experience and great location
Almost all satisfied us. There was no elevator up to the 3rd floor but, narrow and steep steps, which tired us.
Very nice room, great location, extremely helpful staff, great breakfasts (enough for lunch too)
The personal attention which Martin gives his guests
Location, substantial breakfast, coziness and atmosphere, 2 computers to use at no charge The mattress, no elevator but front desk staff helped carry my luggage up and down stairs.
Excellent location, good size room, comfortable and good breakfast
Staff friendliness and good value for money. Location is great and premises are clean!
Great location. Right on a canal, close to most top sights. Sweet breakfast room with lots of windows looking out on street and canal.
Central Location but not noisy - beautiful homely building - great breakfast - lovely staff. Free internet access everything was brilliant and they have a lovely Dog Taz !! It was all good, cant complain about anything - It was so cold in Amsterdam and we asked for extra blankets the staff were so helpful !!
the decor was very welcoming and the staff helpful and friendly. Also, the breakfast was excellent. the bed was slightly uncomfortable. Also, the wireless does not reach the top floors and thus one had to be in the lounge downstairs. No ability to skype since there are no cell-phone conversations in the lounge (if there is no wireless signal in the room).
Front desk staff were pleasant - the hotel was convenient to everything That fresh towels were not provided each day - At home because towels might stay damp, they are washed, if not each day, definitely every other day. I realize this may have occurred because I was staying several nights, but towels at home are laundered more frequently...I am sure if I had complained, the problem would have been taken care of.
Location was excellant. Hotel was quaint, warm and cosy The only little point would be no lift. Majority of the time not a problem just when you have suitcases.
Beautiful view of the canal, large room, comfortable bed, WiFi access, lovely sunny breakfast room. Family owned, all around charming hotel!
There was a lot of noise on the street in front of the hotel, youths shouting. The building is old, which means you can hear guests in the other rooms, even on other floors.
Clean, cosy and a bit small small room. Good breakfasts.
really nice rooms, good located near to the leidesplein
This was my 3rd stay at this hotel and is conveniently situated for my favourite place the Leidersplein". It is close enough to plan a walking route but far away enough not to be disturbed by city noise. A traditional English breakfast isn't served but there is suficient selection to start the day with a good meal. I will be back again for Queens day which is my favourite time of year in Amsterdam as it is my birthday aswell and I always have a great time. I'ts a "big party" and everyone should come over for the experience. I only stayed for 3 nights this time and I had to change rooms on the 3rd night which isn't a problem and wouldn't put me off going back, but it was just a bit inconvenient.
The hotel was in a good location, it was easy to get into the centre. The man on reception was very friendly and very helpful. The heating was very good. The beds were very soft and also the wind made the window rattle at night. We solved this by stuffing our booking confirmation in the gap!
The location is good but very old fashioned This is really a guest house with 4 star hotel
A clean, spacious room at a good price and with a good, central location easily accessed from Leidseplein. Room was good, a little shabby, but very clean and equipped with a large TV, big windows, and everything u need. Nothing reallly, it's a decent hotel.
Friendly, helpful staff. Hotel in a very central city location, within walking distance of most places to visit in Amsterdam. Room quite small. Instead of a double bed, was two single beds.
Good location and good breakfast. !
Breakfast and close to tourist attractions n/a
Warm welcome, excellent location, clean and value for money.
the bread in the morning and the modern design throughout the place. nothing - I had a wonderful time.
The location the room size and all the new things at the hotel The staris to the room
I was impressed with the classy decor, coffee machine in the room, cleanliness, clever use of space, great bathroom, good location( though a tad noisy as night due to nearby nightclubs) and I would definitely recommend it. Excellent value for money.
excellent warm atmosphere,we felt as if it was our own studio in Amsterdam, not just a hotel...excellent location as well...large room, modern design, comfortable bed.. breakfast in the room is a great idea!..we definitely would go back there maybe we would have enjoyed a cabin in the shower but we managed anyway
Location The immense stairs (no elevator) were not mentionned in the hotel description. Poor breakfast.
central location very clean contemporary style would thoroughly recommend it the steepness of the stairs!!!!
The breakfast was substantial, the cleanliness was superb and Willem was extremely helpful and friendly. Nothing.
Location of hotel is excellent. Really nice room. Negotiating the stairs to the top floor was tough after a few drinks!!
the room was as shown, large, cleanand the bed was large and comfortable. The en-suit was a wet room which was fantastic nothing
It was in a great location.
wonderful landscape, very quiet and typical, staff courtesy, great cookery the ceiling in the toilet was too low, I hit my head a couple of times!
The hotel was easy to find and had very close access to public transportation. The Park and Ride is 5 minutes by car and the train ride is 5 minutes to Central Station. All for 6 euros for up to 5 people - what a bargain. The hotel is not new but has a great atmosphere and character and the location right on the lake is just beautiful. We thought the food in the restaurant was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We will definitely stay here again. If you have trouble with stairs I would recommend that you request a room in the newer part of the hotel - the stairs in the main building are very steep.
A fantastic hotel in a great location. The staff were exceptioanlly friendly and helpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking for something quieter and relaxing but still close to Amsterdam City
Great hotel. Friendly, helpful staff. Beautiful location, quaint little fishing village town. I will stay there again. Highly recommended.
Helpfulness, friendliness, location and superb view - excellent food and beer.
The restaurant was outstanding.
The rooms we got were excellent, nice staff, nice view and garden facilities, easy to reach the RAI exhibition center, right beside the Amsterdam ring The breakfast is poor
I just stayed one night! But il was OK
We enjoyed the uniqueness if the hotel, and the grounds...along the water front. The food was excellent in taste, presentation, and value. No, We enjoyed the whole experiennce, including service, staff, and value.
The help that the staff rendered; Very Very timely help and they offered a great service in calling the bus numner 30 whenever we needed. The reachability to the Hotel by public transport is not explicitly mentioned
did not have a tolit in the room.
Great location, quiet place, friendly staff, good breakfast! Recommended for week-end in Amsterdam.
Staff was extremely helpful and friendly :)
Staff were very friendly and obliging. Room was much more spacious and clean than I was led to believe from previous reports. Location was 30 min walk or 10 min tram from the city centre. I was unable to turn the heating down which meant I had to leave the window open during the night which allowed some outside noise in.
Friendly staff, excellent value, cheap and cheerful. Quiet yet walking distance / 3 tram stops to centre. My 'excellent' ratings are based on the price range. It's not 5 star, but what you get is simple, clean and all you need for a short stay.
The location is not bad. Everything else in Amsterdam was booked. This was the only place within 6km of the city center. One member of the staff was helpful. He was at least sympathetic about all of the shortcomings of the hotel. Filthy - cobwebs and a lot of dust in the rooms. The rooms are not fully cleaned, and have trash left over that previous tenants left in room. Hot - rooms have no windows, no ventilation, and no AC. They smell bad, are very hot and very uncomfortable. Beds are in very poor condition - the beds are so soft and worn out, two people cannot sleep on them. You inevitably sink into the middle of the mattress. I had to sleep on the hardwood floor instead. Unhelpful staff - The staff could seem to care less about helping with problems. The AC is broken? Oh well, that's just the way it is. The business model of this hotel is based on taking advantage of travelers with nowhere else to stay. The ownership and staff apparently know the place is a dump, but they have no incentive to change as long as tourists and backpackers flood in on the weekend and have no other options.
Shower Inconvenience of checking in and out and having breakfast 6 doors down. Didn't like waking up to itchy bed bug bites on my arms.
Not very much Not cleanly, very small and not worth the price at all
Lokation was excellent and it was nice to have a view to canal and to park. Breakfast was nice and big enough. They promised in add a little couble bed but there were two single beds. But it was OK.
Entry of other guests to our Room, poor Breakfast service.
No reception, front door open 24/7, unwanted visitors, fire alarm going off... one of the worst hotels I have ever stayed at.
great view from our room, quiet bad bed,no fruits -breakfast
Staff was friendly and helpful Smell from the bathroom toilet
good public transport The view out of the window was not a good one, just the enclosed staircase, so you couldn't leave air in. The remote control for the a/c was deposited at the check in the hotel vivaldi; a few houses up the road.
For the price we paid, I expected a proper hotel. This is more a hostel.
