Bed was clean and comfortable. Bathroom was also clean. The person at the front desk was welcoming. Carpet felt a little greasy. Looked like someone had tried to kick the door in. Bathroom door was also broken in places.
Met needs on a rainy road trip. Friendly staff and good pet policy. Excellent cable tv channel selection (better than many larger higher-rated hotels).
I really liked the location. I really liked the staff. Very friendly and helpful The room did exactly what I needed it do, allow my dogs and I a good night sleep. I have nothing bad to say. It was actually a better place than I thought it would be. It is not the Grand Bohemian, but I did not want that. Thank you so much for the value you provide. It was much needed for the purposes of the trip. Truly wishing you all much luck and succes.
It was really clean Old, needs to be updated
Location Accommodations were in need of an overhaul and repair. Seemed to be more permanent guests than overnight guests. Overpriced for the state of the motel.
Secure WIfI Stains on Carpet; Bad Odor; uhhealthy donuts for breakfast Gita
Clean, very comfortable beds and pillows, helpful and courteous staff, good, choices in included breakfast. 2-3 miles to closet restaurant.
staff was nice, room was clean and comfortable. WiFi was good.
The breakfast was good and the staff was very helpful and pleasant and friendly. There are a few reasons I will not go back ,first off for 4 nights I didn't sleep more than 2 hours each night. This was due to the air conditioner in the room. It was like sleeping next to a F-16 engine at full throttle even though the fan was at its lowest setting and the vents were not adjustable so the cold air was blowing on my face the whole time. Also around the pool there was not enough shade if you wanted to get out of the hot sun but still enjoy the pool, and the entrance is too close to the ramp coming off I-240 so it's difficult to get over and slow down and the entrance needs a larger sign. Your online information is very misleading because your hotel is not in walking distance to any shopping or restaurants .
Room was clean and good size. Bed was very comfortable after a long day sightseeing. Bathroom was very small.
Clean, well kept, safe, and convenient. Breakfast could use some fresher, healthier options.
Friendly service Clean rooms Comfy beds
Breakfast buffet was nice, which the Holiday Inn Exp. doesn't have
Comfy beds, delicious waffles, location Bugs in room, outdated, very thin walls, indoor pool was closed, water came out black at first due to maintenance in building.
How spotless everything was. Breakfast was quite good. The rooms were ideal for children. I really don't have anything negative.
The hotel was convenient, clean, had a friendly staff and a good breakfast. It was a bit difficult to find as it sat back from the road and had a smallish sign. Also, as I am an (outside) cigar smoker, the Smoking Area resembled an outside prison with tall cement walls and no furniture. A chair, table and ashtray would be nice. The hotel did say they were working on it.
Breakfast was included , nice room, location. Price too high
The hotel met our needs and more. Was clean, close to sites, quiet, and comofrtable. I really don't have a negative comment.
The front desk staff was very helpful and welcoming. My only complaint is that when you cut the bathroom light on, the exhaust fan came on. It was terribly loud and unnecessary.
Bed was large. Decent breakfast. The place smelled weird.
Good location, friendly staff, great value I didn't like their check out policy. If you stay later than 12 noon, you must pay for another night.
Breakfast Bar Elevator is major clunky and slow. Bathroom way too small for king bed room
Location Breakfast awful. Bad coffee
Have stayed here before. Could tell it was recently updated. Rooms decor and comfort have been improved. Much more comfortable. Complementary breakfast is terrible! Precooked sausage was still half frozen. Eggs were either over cooked on the sides of pan or runny in the middle. Waffle batter was like sludge and cooked like sludge. Stick to the fruit, toast and bagels.
Great for those traveling with pets. Breakfast is very basic but serves its purpose. Bonus is 24 hour availabilty of free coffee.
Good location, clean , quite, lots if good places to eat close by, plus outlet mall across parking lot
The front host was so helpful and friendly. I wish I remembered her name. Young woman with long strawberry-blond hair. She made us feel welcome and took the time to suggest places to visit, great restaurants to try, etc. Honestly, the nicest host/front desk staff during this trip. We stayed in 6 hotels in the past two weeks. I also loved that they mostly put guests with their beloved dogs on the first floor. At another hotel, I had to ask for the room to be changed, as it smelt like a wet dog. He also gladly moved us and told us most hotels set aside rooms for guests who don't have dogs or travel with them. I figure many who travel with their beloved dogs also let them sleep on the beds. I'm happy that hotels are pet-friendly because we traveled with our daughter, her husband and their puppy, at 2 of the hotels so we had to find hotels that we pet-friendly, but I was happy to be placed in a room that wasn't.
Great location. Very happy with the room and customer service. Great breakfast. The walls are a little thin
Tried to find an economical comfortable hotel. They surpassed all expectations. Will definitely stay here again. Friendly staff, clean comfortable room. Thanks for a great weekend.
Nice staff, clean, free breakfast Location was ok, would have liked to stay a little closer to Biltmore and downtown as opposed to a rundown mall.
Staff was friendly, good breakfast, amazing price with location easy to get to from the highway and a quick drive to downtown.
Staff was nice and tried to accommodate the messed up reservation. We booked 2 queens and had to take 1 king for a family of four, because our reservations were not there! The worst part was the room smelled Stongly of cigarettes! Not the best Hampton experience.
Even though I checked in at 2 pm and was only one of a dozen cars in the parking lot I believe that due to my third party booking with Kayak I was deliberately placed in unit 112 which is a very nice room, but is directly adjoining the very noisy continental breakfast kitchen. The banging and noise started at 4:36 a.m. and even with double ear plugs which I went to my car at 4:50 a.m. to get and the white noise turned up on my cell as loud as it would go the noise was still ridiculous and completely unacceptable. I believe that this is well known by staff and a way to get around the Hampton guarantee by putting 3 rd party bookings in this unit. I intend to chargeback this night due to this on my Visa.
Staff is always very congenial and helpful. Coffee tea & cookies are always a nice touch. Breakfast has always been good. Finding a long hair on your bed when you turn it back is never a good sign, but I guess it happens.
Great location not to far from Downtown area. The staff was friendly, room clean, and very comfortable bed. Breakfast area was clean and food was fair with several options. The Price -- Payed over $300 for 1 night stay as we decided to go to Asheville last minute. Had a hard time finding a decent room in town, so paid the price. No Hampton is worth $300 a night though.
The ac in our room made too much noise to sleep. I was unhappy that I could not receive Hilton honors points since I booked using kayak. I didn't save any money by doing so. It would be nice if Hilton showed the same amount of loyalty to their customers as they expect from them.
Quick and friendly check in. Clean room. Will defiantly stay again.
Everything Not many changes in breakfast on different days, but some people prefer the same meal options every day. Not really big complaint, if a complaint at all.
Advance tickets to the Biltmore Mansion purchased at the hotel. Only had two day passes. Should provide one and two day options.
Clean and very modern At bit pricey for the location and type of hotel
One of the nicest Hampton Inn properties. All renovated interior, and well managed. Staff was outstanding. If you want to exercise, location leaves a lot to be desired. The neighborhood is not appropriate for running or walking. Need to go elsewhere. While indoor pool is nice, very limited exercise equipment.
Our room was very spacious and clean! We enjoyed having the bar downstairs and the rate was very reasonable! We will return!
nice room and disable parking available The view from room was an old out of business motel
This hotel is advertised as downtown and is not downtown or in walking distance to any downtown activities.
Everything was perfect. Loved the shuttle to downtown so we didn't have to drive. Loved the staff, very friendly and helpful. The place was very clean. Loved the pool (it was both indoor & outdoor) and hot tub
The free shuttle into downtown Asheville was a really nice touch & the shuttle driver was really knowledgeable about where we should go!
The front desk employees are very friendly and polite, the room was very clean. The bed was comfortable as well as the pillows. The bathroom was very clean as well and water pressure was perfect.
Staff was extremely accommodating and helpful! The food while not complimentary was still great. The pool was very well kept as was the work out facilities. Enjoyed the whole experience. The price of the hotel, while definitely competitive with the rates at some of the higher end hotels, I think is just a bit over the top for weekend rates. After a week of staying at the hotel I felt we should have received the same rate for extending our stay just one more day. Maybe in the future the hotel will be able to allow their employees to offer this option. I would love to see a refund for the difference in cost...
Easy check and out. Quiet
Clean, central to everything & the bed was comfortable. I knew what I was getting when I booked the place. I didn't expect an spa. I'm happy with the stay an will return in the spring. The restaurants a short drive to downtown were amazing. I can't say I was displeased with anything. On my stay every 3rd car in the lot was a luxury import from Germany, so it wasn't like patrons were a problem.....
Great staff, very helpful and friendly even when besieged by questions. Room was very good with sufficient room and comfortable bed. Breakfast was very weak.
Clean Breakfast could have been better...no eggs
The location was very convenient just off of the highway and between downtown and the mall as well as many restaurants. The staff was helpful in suggesting local sites of interest. The breakfast options were adequate. The room decor seemed modern. The bathroom was roomy. There was a basic workout room. The room was clean and comfortable. The internet was not dependable. There was construction going on, sounded like a jackhammer starting at 7:00 am. The tub in room 107 did not drain properly. There was no pool.
Clean, friendly staff, value Breakfast options (very carb heavy)
Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was recently remodeled and the new king pillow top bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was also adequate and offered a small range of different popular items. The location of the hotel was also ideally located right off the highway and close to the local mall, restaurants, and downtown Asheville was within walking distance. The only caveat was that the hotel did not publicize an extra pet charge for my dog but it was minimal compared to hotel room fee and they were very accommodating for my dog.
Great staff, very good room with excellent bed. Staff took the initiative to place our room next to our older children's room; most appreciative. Breakfast choices extremely limited.
Renovated interior. Easy access and parking. Shabby exterior under construction. Noisy by the road. Despite hotel being listed as pet friendly, staff gave us a hard time for having 2 small dogs. Less than friendly.
Location, price, amenities, super comfy bed The rear parking lot is very cramped and i lack confidence in some late night activity I was hearing but it was nothing to get concerned over.
Bed was super comfortable. Staff extremely friendly and continental breakfast is always a plus. Location was amazing because it was only 5 minutes from downtown and there were so many restaurants and shops surrounding the hotel. You could even walk to the local bar. Overall experience is 4 stars because the bathroom was the only thing I didn't like. There is no vent for the steam so you have to keep the door open while you shower. The shower has no ledge so a big chunk of the water gets onto the floor. Towels could only cover a small kid.
Location, general comfort, capable staff. Noisy vending area right outside the door; unattached drain cover in the tub; tub faucet handle awkward to operate; main door handle also didn't operate smoothly. For $200+ I expected more attention to detail.
The location can't be beat in downtown Asheville.... Walking distance to the festivals, restaurants, bars, etc 1-5blocks away. Rooms are nice, comfortable, modern decor. Lobby is sophisticated yet not stuffy. Barn door to the bathroom is stylish but doesn't provide much privacy or noise limitations when in the bathroom.
the bed. the pillows.
Decor too modern for my taste, very stiff visually and functionally in common areas
We liked Charles from room service. He was fast and mannerly. This hotel is geared towards businesses and a place for wedding parties. There are charges to make a local call, charges to connect you to a taxi service and a $50 charge is added to your credit card that remains there for 3-5 business days after you've cleared your account. I understand some hotels have this practice, but I was not told the hotel would charge my account in this manner. When I found the charge on my credit card, I had to call the hotel and hang on for many minutes until someone could explain to me what the charge was for. Also, the navigator wasn't too knowledgeable about the surrounding area. The in-hotel restaurant is mediocre but charges $12.00 for a buffet breakfast that is one level above the continental breakfast served at Hampton Inns. I'd skip breakfast at this hotel and go downtown to a great coffee house. We only used the restaurant because we were given 2 $20 vouchers (included in our package). The breakfast wound up costing us $24 + a tip for greek yogurt and fruit. I would not recommend this hotel as my first choice.
The staff was fantastic! Very accommodating of a late checkout when we got stuck at an event. Top notch!
The location in downtown Asheville is great, within walking distance of many restaurants, breweries and shops. The lobby is modern and nice and the staff was very helpful. Free in-room Wi-Fi is nice, albeit a little slow You can tell this is an older hotel that has been remodeled. The bathroom was tiny and not very well lit. The bathroom door didn't latch and the TV reception was poor. We also had to request an extension cord because there were no outlets by the bed to plug a phone in overnight.
Very clean. Respectful staff. The breakfast gets 3 out of 5 for quality.
Comfortable bed, refrigerator, microwave and large shower area. All these items you usually pay more for. Nice breakfast next day.
The receptionist was apologetic We found a syringe in our bed. We were given an upgraded room, but I felt we should have had our room comped, as I've never been so grossed out, and it definitely ruined the mood of the romantic getaway I'd planned with my fiance. I barely slept thinking about whether there had been others we didn't see and if we had gotten accidentally stuck or something.
The room was great, it was decorated nicely. The hotel pool looked wonderful but it was closed for season when we went. The shower was to die for and the breakfast had so many options. It was a wonderful place and I will be back. A couple ice machines were out but that's pretty much it.
Easy access to interstate and less than 5 miles to either the Biltmore or Chimney Rock exits. Older hotel but clean. Bed was a little lumpy.
The room was on the small side, but clean and comfortable. The bed and pillows were great. Shower quite nice, good water pressure and temperature. Breakfast was good, coffee not bad at all for a hotel breakfast buffet. Very friendly staff offered us advice on what to see and do in Asheville. (They printed a map of the Asheville Urban Walking Trail for us, highly recommended for first-time visitors to AVL.) Was able to print boarding passes quickly and easily. The pictures don't show this, but the hotel is located on a very busy intersection. There can be a lot of traffic noise. Our end room exposed it to that intersection, but we slept just fine. Soundproofing seems good. Fan unit was on most of the time, that no doubt helped. Only the occasional obnoxiously loud motorcycle could be heard. We slept well, and the location is convenient. About 10 minutes to downtown Asheville, easy access to the Blue Ridge Parkway. We would use this hotel again.
Pool. Staff. Upon entering the room, there was a strong scent of some kind of cleaning product. I imagine it wasn't a healthy brand, since my lips, throat, and lungs felt irritated soon after. We got another room that seemed better at first, but when we returned from dinner, the smell was there too. It seemed noticeable when the air conditioner was on, so perhaps they put some kind of "air freshener" or fragrance into the air conditioner. We left the door open until bedtime and turned off the air conditioner. If you're sensitive to strong smells, go elsewhere...
Rooms were very nice and very clean
I called last minute to check the pet policy, not only did the hotel allow me to bring my 3 dogs (most hotels only allow 2) but they also accommodated me with a room even though the pet friendly rooms were taken. I was very appreciative of this gesture and have recommended quality Inn and suites to many since. Thank you for your generosity
Room was clean, front desk was helpful when I needed assistance. Was charged twice for my room, was told that it was due to "new staff members". Always frustrating when an almost $400 charge on your card takes a couple of weeks to get figured out and removed.
Room was very clean and comfortable. Loved the bed. Extremely comfortable and slept well. Nice tv. . Bathroom was spotless. We checked in around 3:30 and everything was fine. We left to out around 6 and returned around 10.30 PM. Every parking spot was taken. I`m not sure how many units this hotel has but parking is no where near comparable to the amount of rooms available . When I asked the staff person where I should park he told me to park at the restaurant next door. When I voiced my concern about this his attitude was like " whatever". Guess he had heard it so many times it didn`t phase him. Not sure if I would stay here again or not. For such a wonderful place to stay this is an issue that needs to be addressed.
Location, easy of getting to/from the hotel. Right beside train tracks and crossing.
Breakfast was okay and I appreciated the fact that the shower head had been raised. Our non smoking room REEKED of cigarette smoke. Yuck. Also I did not enjoy waking up to freight trains passing on train tracks located LITERALLY 25 Feet from my window (well hidden behind a tall hedge) not once or twice but FIVE TIMES THROUGHOUT THE NIGHT.
I liked the cleanliness of the place as well as it being on Tunnel Rd. and off 40. The staff was clueless. I felt as tho there was a language barrier as well. Morning staff was some better.
Nice clean and friendly....can't beat the price!!! No complaints
Staff was helpful, service was quick, and the room and pool were VERY well kept.
Great decor Pricey
In room amenities were super and the quality of the appointments and furnishings were top notch. Wonderful soaking tub, beautiful shower, luxurious bedding, and super quiet. I loved that there was quiet air conditioning..not the loud whir of so many hotels. The staff in the restaurant were a little undertrained. The service in there was not superb as it was at the front desk and the valet service.
We were greeted with a beautiful mountain style hotel front and "bed and breakfast" style lobby. Noticed one house keeper cleaning the baseboards...That is something you don's see in hotels and was impressed. Very nice, very clean, great HOT breakfast!! Was in a convenient part of town, 10 min from downtown Asheville and about 10 from the Parkway. Will book again!
Clean room, good size, not too bad of a price.
Rooms clean.. staff very helpful. Kids in room beside us very loud into the night..
In truth, we didn't check in until almost midnight, went to sleep, got up, showered and left. Not sure about any of the amenities. Room was very nice, clean, well appointed and I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
Our stay at Country Inn & Suites was definitely worth the money & time, a highly recommended place to stay!
Rooms clean and staff helpful. Our last breakfast was busy but the staff were proactive in replacing items, rather than waiting inline for it to come out of the kitchen. Things were rather chaotic at our last breakfast - probably most of the hotel guests trying to eat at the same time, which was not down to the hotel.
Great service - the check-in desk receptionist was a delight. The breakfast was healthy. The rooms was quiet and roomy enough for three (including one baby).
Hotel very clean, nice staff and ver good breakfast. Nothing
Rooms were clean, staff was nice and helpful, liked that there was coffee in the lobby in the morning and it was good. The breakfast was not good, the items were not bad, it just didn't taste good, not warm enough, not seasoned correctly, etc. Need a real food person in charge making people say YUM when they eat!
Clean, staff friendly, breakfast good and good location.
Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Clean rooms. Cleaning staff came too early in the morning. No sign to put on door.
Comfortable rooms, great staff.
Great staff Nice location -- walkable to everywhere downtown Beautiful, spacious room Easy in and out A bit noisy, with highway/main street traffic
I loved the view in our "view" room. The hotel staff were very friendly and the room was so spacious, clean, and comfortable! Bed was amazing, floors were super clean, and the whole experience was amazing. My girlfriend was very happy, and so it made our getaway wonderful. The walking distance to downtown was also one of our favorite features of the hotel. It was definitely worth it. The only thing that held me back a little was the price. I paid $240 with taxes included, and didn't get as high of a floor as we wanted (4th), but it was very quiet and you couldn't really hear the traffic below so it was all good. I would definitely stay again. Knowing this room goes for $400+ on the weekends made me appreciate the value we were getting as well. It was definitely a wonderful experience.
Good location meant walking distance to all of downtown Asheville as well of easy highway access. Staff was friendly, and the hotel had a hip, modern feel. Cost was high for lack of amenities. Modern design lacked some warmth as well as function. Created a louder atmosphere in a bad way, Doors closing on the floor we stayed could be heard at all hours. Really nothing to 'do' at the hotel so why was the price as high as others in the same area with full bars, restaurants and pools?
THE DESK CLERK WAS EXCELLENT. PEOPLE WERE FRIENDLY AND THE SIZE OF THE ROOM WAS SUFFICIENT. THE CLERK GAVE US DISHES AND PANS THAT WE NEEDED WHICH MADE IT CONVENIENT AND CLEAN. WE LIKED HAVING KITCHEN FACILITIES. THE BED WASN'T VERY COMFORTABLE. THERE WAS NO SHAMPOO.
Attentive check-in. Clean. Easy to find. Good location Nothing. It was what I expected>
Clean. Quiet. Good location. No pool. Had to go to front desk to get exchange our dirty towels, etc for clean ones. Old ones had to be turned in before we could get new ones? Really.
Breakfast was superb. Convenient and great service. Good value. A little tricky driving in and out if the location.
I liked the location. That's about it Our professional organization had our conference there. We booked a year out and were promised no construction. The was construction and it affected everything. Due to the construction there was a restaurant moved into one of our meeting rooms so they gave us another room that our members had to walk outside in the cold several 100yds to. Even after we gave them a schedule of our events(twice) and they promised it wouldn't happen again there was roofing over our workshops and presentations that was so loud our speakers couldn't be heard. The staff was rude and far from quick to fix anything. Half our member didn't have hot water. There were ants in the room. Book with someone else. Horrible.
The breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious. All the staff throughout the hotel were very friendly and helpful. A nice way to start your day. Parking was plentiful and convenient. The Christmas decorations were abundant and lovely. All in all this hotel was much improved over the Holiday Inn Resort which it used to be ten years ago. Crowne Plaza has made many, many improvements and appears to be still doing so. Bathroom was tiny and an obese person could not fit between the toilet and the vanity or the toilet and the tub. It was a one-person bathroom, and the door could not be opened or closed if someone were sitting on the toilet. The toilet paper was cheap and scratchy - like at one of the highway rest stops. The room carpet was filthy. The bed was new, clean, and very comfortable. The blankets were stiff and thin, but were very clean and enclosed in fresh sheeting. Much preferable to soft blankets that are often not washed at other hotels. But the room was still smelly from mildew of old, and my sinuses were badly affected by this. Dogs are evidently allowed in the rooms, as we were awakened by a loud, continuously barking dog near our room. No effort was made to silence the dog. This should not be permitted, or at least should be segregated to a far wing of the hotel. Our debit card was charged $50 for services not given or requested. This charge is still sitting on our bank statement as pending, thus making our vacation designated credit card declined for our return trip car gas purchase. If you plan to use a debit card, bring along plenty of cash, too. Fortunately we did. The roads from the hotel to downtown Asheville are very tricky and not convenient.
Loved the location next to the adventure park. Beds were comfy and clean. Bathroom was very small, but know this is hard to fix.
Our room was clean but dated. Room was large enough to fit queen beds but only had double beds. Our travel plans originally included a 2-nite stay but due to travel challenges ended up being 1-nite. This turned out to be fine with us as the property was dated and didn't meet our expectations for a place to get R&R after a long drive. This property is essentially a motel with some resort activities available to registered guests.
New rooms were great - super clean - everything new! Construction! GPS brought me in from the back side of Sam's Club and I thought I'd gone back to the 80's... Lobby and rooms were nicely remodeled - rest of the hotel was very dated.
Value for the $$ was very good. Clean, and comfy bed. Really disliked the facility setup. Had to drag all the bags through two wings and up a ramp to get them in the room. Would rather pay up and get something more convenient.
No food service after midnight except vending machines
Friendly staff nice place Could not get info about spa from hotel staff Bar closed to early
Only thing that was not exceptional were the pillows on the bed......they were not comfortable. Hardly enough to complain about though.
Love the staff; Valet-Steven, the catering manager Gunny , sales manager Tammy In the bathroom there's not enough counter space to put your toiletries, makeup bag etc when you're getting ready to go out or go to bed.
