Staff were great. Helped us find secure parking and met us at the square to help us bring luggage to the hotel. They were great with advice on the best paths to take through the Acropolis and where to eat. Room was comfortable with a great view. Breakfast was a bit ordinary with only jam for the bread (though we had scrambled eggs one morning. Wasn't a problem for us as we had an apartment and so took breakfast to our room and added to it. If you are close to the bar on the roof the noise of other guests returning to their rooms can make it difficult to sleep.
The location was superb. We loved sitting on the roof-top terrace and looking out over the Parthenon. Good internet access. As this is a hostel, it is very loud, louder than any hostel I know. The staff are all international travelers themselves, not trained in hotel service. I had written ahead asking for an early check-in since our 12- hour flight was getting in the am. The reply didn't address my question but simply stated that they looked forward to our arrival. An early check- in wasn't available. In fact, our room was not even ready at the designated check-in. We had gone to eat, returning at check-in time, only to sit in the lobby for another hour while they finally got around to cleaning our room. I would not recommend this hostel for a first night after a long international flight. There was no art in our room as the website indicated. Not an "art hostel"
The entrance was bright and clean and the bar was good. The check in staff were friendly and efficient. The room was small but spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. The free breakfast was fine. The price was reasonable. The only thing I didnt like was the area. It's in a rather dirty seedy part of Athens on a dark street. However the location is near a Metro so convenient.
Location was very convenient, although run down. Plumbing. For 90€ with a minimalist self-service continental "breakfast" for two, it was not worth it considering the Amalia at Syntagma was going for 120€ with far superior rooms, service and a full English breakfast for two. Good for backpackers, but bookings.com should not advertise this as a hotel. At best a pension.
For a hostel, it is very nice and seems to have a good community, nice staff. The free washer and dryer is a major plus. The online presence of this establishment was very misleading. I expected it to be a proper hotel, especially for the price I paid. It is a hostel (a good one, but still a hostel). The quality of our single room for the price required was pretty unacceptable. It was clean, but extremely spartan in furnishings and honestly a little sad. If you are in your early twenties and traveling, stay here. If you are looking for something a little nicer, I could not recommend.
Good, clean basic hostel and near to Acropolis and tourist district. It has a roof top balcony with superb evening views of Acropolis. The noise factor. The stairway is located close to all rooms and it acts like an amplifier causing loud disturbance from late night revellers.
My wife and I celebrated our 10th anniversary here, and I am so glad we didn't choose the boring hotel up in the Kolonaki district. The staff at AthenStyle were fun, friendly and knowledgeable. We stayed in a self-catering room which had it's own balcony and view of Parthenon which was amazing. Christian's Mojitos were too strong - Sofia's were just right!!!
Nice studio for family- Good locataion to metro- nice people. Clean. Good price.
Staff really nice and welcoming
Close to metro station and old city sites. Worked well for us as an overnight stay to get to see things quickly with rapid transit to the airport in the morning. Family room for 4 worked like a charm - very clean and neat 'basic' accommodation. We were pleased to find the hot plate worked well for us to have a cup of tea even. Great cost for a family of 4. We needed to leave on the metro a half hour before breakfast was supposed to be available but the staff said the cold cereal and juice continental breakfast wouldn't be available for us. After going out and buying something on the street I actually found that it was available. The service was marked down as 'fair' because of this. The shower curtain was also barely long enough to go around the rail so water gets on the floor. A bit more length would have been good to keep things dry. Beware that the map provided by the internet link from 'Booking.com' may lead you to the wrong place. The location is actually quite close to the metro station and in a safe part of town (the map led us to a place further away and in a less safe part).
Nice hotel. We had a triple room that was large. Walking distance to several metro stations.Very good service at the desk, especially from Mary who went above and beyond several times. Excellent breakfast. Two computer stations available for a fee. Per other comments, the hotel area is a little hectic. We are in the 60's age group and did not feel threatened, but we did keep alert. I would say this is a nice hotel in a less than nice area but not too bad.
Nice clean room (small though), Close to the Metro Station and the center of Athens Coffe,
Cleaneness, very good location (15' walk to Acropolis) and good value for money
The staff was friendly and very helpful. We were faced with unusual weather which forced us to spend an extra night in Athens. The front desk clerk assisted us with calling the airport to check on our flight, arranging transportation and promptly providing us with a room for the extra night. As is apparently typical in Greece, it is nearly impossible to shower without the entire bathroom getting wet.
Very convenient location (300 meters from Metaxourgeio Metro Station). Good value for money. The neighborhood is dangerous at night.
Hotel was clean, recently renovated. The roof top terrace (restaurant) was really pleasant with nice view of north Athens. Staff was very helpfull and in any mean pleasant. Good value for money hotel. Hotel was really nice unlike neighbourhood around nearby Omonia square and especially 'Plateia Vathis'. Watch your vallet and your back...
Booked for double room, got 2 singles. Complained and after 15mins the hotel agreed even though they said they were fully booked. Someone, asked if there were rooms free when I was back at reception a short while later and I overheard the desk staff member that there were a number or rooms to choose from! Power sockets hanging out of wall. TV broken. Bad area - prostitutes, drug deals on opposite corner. Don't bother, it's the pits.
Friendly staff. Fantastic breakfast!! Restaurant at the top floor, and café in the lobby with tasty coffe. Nice and clean room. Aircondition. Positioned near to Omonia Square with shops, metro and bus. The room were a bit too warm (for beeing in march). Busy street below. Strange bathtub ... Expensive internet access.
The hotel was in a very unsavoury location - we were approached by drug dealers and questiones by drug detectives. There was an abundance of prostitutes working the nearby streets
