Concierge was very helpful. The photographer for the hotel's pictures was a magician because he certainly did an expert job at brushing up and photo shopping the website pictures. The hotel was VERY WORN and looks seedy. The carpets were dirty, furnishings well used, and walls scarred and in desperate need of painting. The mediocre breakfast buffet cost $31 per person and didn't include omlettes. I should have done my homework on this one.
Great location, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Easy walk to Queen street shops, restaurants, Sky tower, and Auckland harbor. Just used it as a base camp to visit things around the city. Easy bus from the airport (35 min), bus stop 2 blocks from hotel. No need to rent a car. Had to leave
The staff was excellent, as was location in Aukland The hotel is in need of an overhaul. Mostly minor details, and it appears that they are in process.
Room layout and view.. A variety of food choices. Efficient Internet. Parking. I'm neutral on food options.
The hotel let me check in at 8 am, after having flown all night from San Francisco. This was fantastic and made my day!
Evening drinks, canapes in Club Lounge. Fast, included wifi. No power outlets near beds or center night table.
Location Expensive at breakfast they charge you for every cup of coffee. Each time it was used the toilet in our room had to be flushed at least twice.
The room are very nice and comfortable but the air condition did not work well which is the major deduction on the score The air condition not on
Went to check in but we had to wait an hour cause their computers were down. They gave us a free drink at the bar so that was nice. Felt the room was dusty especially in the washroom. Staff was friendly. Gym needs updating and pool was only 4.5 deep.
The hotel was within easy reach of all the places we wanted to visit
The shower was nice. Concierge was great. Incompetant booking staff and rude reception staff.
Service and people. They wanted to help.
good rooms bit austere lobby
The staff was very friendly and helpful. They did not have any internet access except when you were at the lobey. It also was very large and did not have a warm and cozy feeling. It was very beautiful. The only other thing was that they put me on a smoking floor even when I had expressed that I had to be in a no smoking room. They did move me but it took 2 moves to get me in the right room. They also over charged me on the room but when I pointed it out they did refund the money
Reception and concierge staff were helpful and efficient, especially appreciated because the lobby was busy with passengers who (like us) had just disembarked from a cruise ship. The hotel was contemporary, immaculate, and had a large sunny window. The bed was comfortable. The hotel has its own airport shuttle service. It was centrally located, right at the Sky Tower and a short walk to the Auckland Art Museum, Albert Park, and Aotea Square. The Sky Tower is a stop on the tourist-oriented bus routes. The waterfront is about 15 - 20 mts walk.
Location was good,Standard was good, service great, food excellent,Enjoyed our stay. Broken bench in sauna
Loved the little cocktail bar off the hotel lobby Details of booking reservation (room + complimentary breakfast) were not known by restaurant or check out staff until pointed out by us i.e. would have been charged if we said nothing.
the view was awesome service was pretty average.
clean and near to the city also the casion nothing
Location was great ,shopping , casino ,entertainment They took my floor towels but did not replace them . its miner
Our room was large as was the bed, wonderful shower and lots of fluffy towels - loved the floor to ceiling window. Hotel staff were very knowledgeable and helpful about car hire, restaurants and airport shuttle service. We stayed in the hotel on two occasions and I was disappointed with both the harbour view and the city view - you pay more for a harbour view. The hotel is very centrally situated - I was on the 14th floor (the lowest floor where you get a harbour view) and my view of the harbour had a great deal of city in front of it - it was a lovely view of the city with the harbour in the distance but not the view of the harbour I'd paid extra for. I also had a city view room on the 20th floor, where I had a very clear view of the bedrooms of the hotel next door but not the city. Don't pick this hotel if you do actually want a harbour or city view - you may be disappointed.
Location. gym and quality of rooms
Room service, cleaners all make for a very relaxing holiday.
The room was comfortable and surprisingly cozy in spite of the mainly black-and-white color scheme.
Location Concierge Staff was Excellent - always finding great ideas for things for us to do. Breakfast and meals on the property were OK - but I expected something better.
The location to centre Auckland, access to the motorway to get to other places. Room service was excellent!! The food was outstanding. On arriving at reception, I felt the receptionist did not over extend themselves with information, as this was a first stay for my family. An example was where and which floor was breakfast as this was inclusive in the stay, what were the times and the last morning we were there it shut 1/2 an hour early and missed breakfast. I got more local information from the man who delivered the bags to our room. The staff were polite and professional but lacked the Christmas Spirit a "Merry Christmas" greeting on the day would have been welcoming. On arriving to our rooms the temp was 28 degrees - quite unbearable! knowing the room was booked it would have been nice to have the air condition on.
Streamlined, colorful, mod, bustling 21st century stay with all the creature comforts. Staff went above and beyond when they had a boxed breakfast waiting for us when we had to leave extra early for the airport and couldn't utilize our morning breakfast buffet pass. The only thing negative about Sky City is there is not enough seating in the lobby if you just want to relax and people watch.
The rooms were nice and big, very clean with everytghin you need. The bed was huge!!!!! The price of the internet was terrible - it is partly a business hotel with the covention centre next door, so I was appauled at the price. In todays timesd wireless should be free in Hotels such as this one
The hotel was very well laid out and designed feeling spacious for a hotel located in the city centre Hotel was priced reasonably and that was the reason I chose it. The internet prices they charged however bordered on criminal. I was there for 3 days and paid approx ~$200 NZD for minimal use of the internet and to download some emails. My annual internet fee is less than this for unlimited access at home.Absolutely disgusted
The staff are very friendly and happy to help even when they had a huge coach load of travellers turn up! There are a lot of restaurants to choose from and the tea/coffee facilities are plentiful. It is close to the IMAX and Civic for evening entertainment. Really minor point - No hotel writing paper
Premium King Room was nice and spacious..Good location Signage from the parking garage is horrable..And gave us the wrong room first
the staff were very friendly and helpful .We had a nice room with sea veiws and we could walk into the city
Absolutely everything - from the initial greeting at the check-in desk to the check-out 2 days later. normally I think that the bar/lounge/ restaurant areas are unfriendly and too open, too "cold" looking, but this is really pleasant. I wanted to stay longer! Even better, I got a promotion for a fabulous massage at "Bliss", next door, it was also excellent.
Location is great as it is near the main shopping area and cinemas. Also next to sky city with cafes and resturants. Its clean and quite enough. Spa is very good and I found staff helpful. Decor is over minimalistic creating an uncosy lobby environment. Food is not great and is expansive compared to other similar hotels.
being right in the middle of the city hotel was fine
good nd ideal location staff courtesy sure,,i stayed for 2 days 11,12oct checked out nd went for my work at matamata, came back on 16oct friday, just because i liked the stay before, came here, but you jacked up the prices for me rather than offering a better deal my protests nd objections binu mathew
My second stay in a month and I'm still impressed. Excellent service all round. The breakfast buffet was Euro/American style which was good but I would have liked more Asian options too, eg rice, miso, etc
A good standard, professionally run. No
Conveniently near shopping points
Staff was very helpful, concierge service was really good.
Nothing was a bother to the staff. All were very friendly and went out of their way to be helpful.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Crowne Plaza and will certainly stay there again and reccommend the Hotel to friends and family.
The location The room was on the 3rd floor facing Queen Street. There was no doubleglazing on the windows and the traffic noise was bad. Difficulty sleeping.
In the city and can connect various buses and trains as within walking distance. Airbus from airport drop off near hotel. Food easily available and kitchen good enough for preparing simple meal. Staff esp lady who tidies room very friendly. Would definitely stay same hotel again. No worries.
We enjoyed the fact that it was positioned right in the city as it was very handy with everything within waking distance. The room was lovely with everything we needed for our stay.
Location of the hotel and the facilities are excellent. There is no parking lot in the hotel.
Very ordinary, no frills affair. No bath.
The location was good right in the heart of the city
Location excellent for theatre, art gallery and University - which were our destinations for the weekend.
We found staff very helpful and the room very comfortable. Loved the breakfast menu.We also ate at the Scenic Hotel in Napier and the food was excellent there too. Only issue- the Lipton tea, is it possible to have Dilma instead?
good location. Its strategically placed.
It's great location in downtown Auckland and ease of parking a little noisy at 1st floor level - maybe some double glazing would help
We thought the location was great and the staff was both friendly and helpful. The pictures of the room on the website were deceiving; they made the room look much nicer and bigger. The bed was old and terrible (could feel bed springs) and the linens generally had some stains on them.
* Very near Queen Rd. * The climb up Queen Rd to the hotel gave me a chance to exercise. * The hotel staff are helpful and courteous. * Room 101 is a comfortable room * Reasonable price * No slippers provided * The edge of the carpet going to the toilet has sharp objects. I got hurt when I went to the toilet. The slippers would be a great help. * Room 101 is a comfortable room except that there is little privacy as it can be seen from the building across the room. * Room 101 should have been made as a conference room. * No breakfast in the package. * only 250MB a day internet package. Such a low tech offer for a high tech country! * better ventilation needed
The Location is next to the center of the city on one of the main street The small dark apartment we got wasn't really clean and it smelled smoky. The pictures in the describtions of the apartments and the describtions itself are much better than the apartments really are!
The location was definately the best feature of the hotel. It was clean and modern with not bad views of the harbour The furniture was uncomfortable. The bed was okay though
It was a clean comfortable room that had things we needed.
it was conveniet to be moving around the city. quetness and absolutely fantastic
The food, view from my room, the city lights were very pretty, free parking (but very tight spaces), room was very clean and a free breakfast. The internet connection was not that great, staff not as formal as I thought they would be (their manner)., wanted to checkout a few hours later, but they could only give me an hour extra, even though the hotel was not full at all, but the staff member told me it was due to the cleaners leaving early on a Sunday.
The receptionist we dealt with was very friendly and helpful whilst remaining professional,we were very pleased to be able to park for free nearly two hours before our check in time..free parking was a big bonus! The room was large, clean and comfortable, we appreciated the free toast and cereal breakfast pack..all in all a great place to stay and very handy being on Queen St.
Choice of eating in or dining out. Off street car parking. Close to restaurants, shops and harbour. Would have liked just a little more choice on menu at restaurant, otherwise no complaints at all.
Friendly staff and flexible with requests Decor in the bar dining area was a bit dated. Furniture too
Quick lifts and very quiet for sleeping. Large size bathroom with a small shower and vanity unit with very little surface to put your items.whilst shaving etc. Below ground parking not the easiest to negotiate and not enough spaces for the number of rooms.
big and well equipped rooms, very clean, very welcoming staff a bit away from harbour
WE LOVED THE STAY IN THIS HOTEL. EXCELLENT SERVICE AND MADE US FEEL AT HOME. VERY HELPFUL AND CARING. EVERYTHING
Cleanliness and comfort together with a very central location. Great value for maney Only after doing all "check in" procedure was informed that only could enter the room at 2.00pm. Should have been informed beforehand, not to lose time and just come back later
Hotel is in a great location. Nice and central. Clean, and comfortable. As this had a kitchen I would expect kitchen cooking tools. There was no oven shelf, no oven tray and no cooking tools.
it was very clean and very central to the city staff were very friendly
It was clean and comfortable. The location was great and it was easy to find and be able to get around to different parts of the city. Staff were friendly as well. They also had the portacot all ready to use. Thanx. Just I guess the noise early hours of the morning of people not wanting to go to sleep, but, in saying that it had no effect on my children that were fast asleep,so it didnt really bother me.
Nice room, very comfortable bed. No heating in room - although a heater was quickly provided on request.
Modern decor in room. Problems with door keycards. First one didnt work at check-in. Second one ok but didnt let me back into passageway from laundry room which is located in stairwell. Had to walk down stairs to basement then back up to room. Advised staff; they said to wedge passageway door open while using laundry; not a good idea as it is a fire door. Location not the best, opposite city mission, quite a few drunks
Very pleased with all aspects not at all
The rooms were well furnished and the bedding clean and of good quality No tourist info in rooms. Poor language skills of staff. Lack of room service or breakfast facilities within the hotel.
Good size room. Good location. The continental breakfast was not very healthy or substantial. No healthy cereals were on offer, and the only thing for the toast was a choice of 2 jams & butter. By the way, I didn't notice many people eating there. Gym was very sparse for equipment.
The hotel is pretty new, clean and not expensive. I love to stay there again if I have a chance. The hotel is pretty cool as I told you, but there are something bad also. My girlfriend and I had to carry all our 7bags by ourselves beacuse the porter was cleaning the floor and the receptionists were busy taking. We were their guest, I think they should have done something.
Firstly it has a central location. It was also a suitable location for our people to stay and be based for our reunion. The use of your facilities was also appreciated. No all was ok.
the friendly staff the food was good and it was good value.
Closeness to the centre of Auckland Safe parking was somewhat limited, I booked and initially paid for a carpark, but found out that when returning late in the evening no free carpark was available
it was highly enjoyable as it was a family treat and not done very often. all staff were ecellent happy ,pleasant and only to happy to help. thanks i would like checkin at 10 and out at 2.lols
convienience to where we wanted to go no guarantee of a parking place
excellent customer service gym was not very updated
Free welcome drink not offered even though it was part of the booking.Rooms should have robes. Inconvenient, especially for women. Limited evening parking. Had to drive around for ages to find a park, in the end, went and asked at reception to find one. The room needs a clock, more so a bedside clock.
Great value for money. A fantastic restaurant. Nice and close to city centre. Good close access to motorway North and South
excellent room , spa bath.
as this was our first stay in NZ, we were surprised at the high level of facilities provided as standard, but subsequently found this to be the norm in NZ,
Location was central to the city and Sky City but it is essential to book a car park with them for ease of luggage movement. Room furniture (chairs etc) could have been more comfortable. Parking very sparse and hard to access. Probably better if you have no car.
Location Noice from traffic
The bed was lovelly and comfy.
Excellently located, no frills hotel with efficient staff.
Great location & friendly staff The room was noisy even though we were on the 7th floor. Perhaps, the windows require some noise insulation?
nothing food, room
The room was clean and perfect for our requirements. It was easy to find coming from the airport, however parking on the street was difficult until we found out about your own car park. We have expected parking to have been at no cost to guests though. If we return to Auckland, we would certainly look at staying again.
Location and ease of being able to walk to harbour/shops/Tower etc.Laundry facilities appreciated tho dryers not efficient. Luggage storage very useful kitchen equipment in rooms poor/sparse esp glassware, crockery, utensils. Teabags/sachets of coffee sparse. No milk provided. We reserved a room with an entertainment area but unable to use it effectively in the way we expected or would have liked. TV poor
It was central The room was tired and in much need of maintenance not good value but clean. Small things like enough towels, coffee and milk that has not gone off would have been nice. Being a best western would have thought a better standard. Have stayed in many best westerns throughtout the world and very disappointed in this one
Great central downtown location close to everything that our group wanted No complaints
The location was fantastic as everything was walkable from there. The staff were very friendly. We were not informed that the bar was open 24 hours. We stayed on the first floor and it was unbelievably loud. The room shook with loud music until after 5am which was unbearable.
The Hotel staff was very helpful and gave us a lot of information!
central location, clean beds very loud noises from the streets and the bar down stairs (open 24/7, some nights karaoke). definitely would not recommend room on first floor
Situated centrally in Auckland, close to SkyCity(across the road) shops and restaurants within walking distance.
Great location for this basic hotel. Excellent value for money. Bathroom quite big. I would recommend this hotel for those who want just a basic accomodation to visit the city Double bed coul be alittle more confortable.
The price is really good, Check in was really fast, the room was comfortable and it was surprisingly quiet. It is really close to Auckland university city campus which makes it perfect if you are a student. Princeton would be a good option if there is more than one of you. The bathroom door was broken, since I was sharing the bathroom with strangers this made me really uncomfortable and also there wasn't really any hot water for when I needed to take a shower.
location, nice and clean bed,the price the smoky entrance, the dirty roof, broken furnicher ,bed konstructin
Location was about it didnt get room I booked, staff was unfriendly/uncaring, facilities were less than expected from staying in similar places elswhere
I did not like anything about my stay at Princeton Apartments They had overbooked and had to shift us from a double room to two single rooms. On going into the new room we discovered that although the bedrooms had been cleaned, the kitchen area and bathroom had not. There were food scraps and rotting rubbish around the rubbish bin, on the bench, in the sink and in the fridge along with dirty dishes and half-eaten meals. The toilet hadn't been cleaned in what seemed to be a long time and neither had the shower or the sink. Friends of ours staying there at the same time as us had the same experience along with there still being people in their rooms, having to share rooms with other people when they had booked private rooms and having to split up groups who were meant to be staying together
The cleanliness of the rooms and they were inner city
nothing I didn't use the bathroom facities as it was very unclean, it was disgusting. I asked for a replacement t.v with a N.Z plug but staff didn't deliver it to my room. so no t.v. Did not like the enviroment. Woke up at the crack of dawn the next morning to leave before departure time as it was just horrible.
Great that it was so cheap! You get what you pay for though ... It's student accommodation really
leaving well they admin told me that there was free parking but there wasn't. the admin people tried to play dumb as in they were trying to tell me i was lying.
the affordability of the room, and how i had my own locked room only thing was that the lightswitch for the kitchen area between two rooms wasnt next to the door when i first walked. bit hard to find in the dark lol
It was cheap. There was nobody to speak to if you had any problems as it seemed to be just student accommodation and not suitable for anyone from their late twenties on. Also it says on the website that there is public parking nearby, this is only from 6pm to 8am.
