Even though the hotel is very large, service is personal and everything works beautifully. The staff are exceptionally polite and friendly.
Shangri-La never fail you.
The atmosphere, accommodations, views and experience were exceptional. The staff bent over backwards to accommodate our desire to go to an obscure vegan restaurant, communicating with the taxi driver & restarants to ensure our safe & Happy experience. Exceptional service.
Excellent staff and service
On arrival, I was told that I had to check out by 9:00 the next morning due to overbooking and the arrival of a dignitary that was unexpected - I was not happy to arrive from a flight to be told this on arrival.
Location was good, away from the noise of bkk. pleasant staff . room could do with some renovation, worn out furniture contrary to what was announced.
The staff were particularly helpful and friendly in all departments whether in the restaurants, spa, gym, pool or front desk. We also enjoyed the dinners we had at the Thai and Italian restaurants and Next 2 for lunch. The singer in the Italian was a great entertainer also. We also liked the proximity to the river and being able to jump on a long boat for a trip down the river it also beats driving if you want to go somewhere across the river.! We were please to see some renovation happening as there were certain areas that looked a bit "tired". I did not like long route to access the Gym and SPA from the main building. It seemed very much out of the way.
excellent hotel.wonderful club facilities
Great hotel, the wing with the river view balconies are totally worth it. Also free shuttle boat down to a market!
high professional and very friendly service staff, but in the background working.. noisy highway bridge near the krungthep wing, but very good windows
The staff was very friendly and the room was very comfortable. Also the facilities: being close to the river it was delightful to have an afternoon tea by the pool overlooking the river. I didn't like the construction noise inside the hotel that started in the morning and only finished at night. very disappointing for a 5 star hotel.
Staff was very professional. Location was the best. Boat transfer was great convenience. All was great.
Staff were very friendly & courteous Not much choice for vegetarians to eat buffet breakfast which we skipped, and instead, we bought delicious vegetarian sandwiches for Bht 120 each from the small coffee shop located in the Hotel Lobby.
It was a nice hotel but nothing special
All staff ecountered were friendly and helpful gym swimming pool sauna an added advantage. I have been home less than 24hrs and I am trying to book for Dec 2010 Absolutely no bad points the management should be proud of the staff employed on doing such a wonderful job
The location is very central, close to the skytrain and the river. Underneath the hotel is a nice, clean shopping mall wih a supermarket (handy when you want to cook yourself). The breakfast buffet is very elaborate and the staff at this hotel is very helpful. As our flight was going late at night, we could store our luggage for free and could even take a shower in the fitness club before we left for the airport.
The location is really good--close to shopping and food. The quality and variety of the breakfast buffet has gone down since my last stay last year at the same time. The dianxin was cold! I also didn't like the pillows on the bed--they were too big and I couldn't use them during my sleep.
well located near the river , Silom Road and the skytrain as well as boat trips. Large apartments with good facilities. None really
Friendly, professional staff. Genuinely concerned about the well being of guests. Location very central to transportation, sights, places to walk, etc., Room amenities excellent as well as city view!
Very efficient and helpfull staff, good value for money. Stayed for one night then moved to Centre Point Thong Lor, and upgraded to bigger room. Both location and room were excellent, and highly recommended. Staff was very helpfull in the transfer which went very smoothly. The hotel location (Silom) not the best. The client is requested to pay to full amount in advance, giving him no choice to cahnge his mind, unless moving within the same chain.
Location, Breakfast, Swimming pool and Gym are good..All staff are polite and helpful We were given Room 803. Air Conditioning, inspite of complaint and attendance to complaint it was not working. Room changed to 1816.The Door lock battery was weak.Could not get into our room. Had to go down twice to get it fixed.
Value for money. Great room, nice central location, awesome breakfasts, friendly and positive stuff. Highly recommended to those who are wishing to have positive memories from Bangkok Air-conditioning was a little too loud in the night. Balcony on the city-side of the hotel was a bit to dirty
location is very good, very close the sky train and boats, shooping mall is first floor, breakfast is good, clean room, person is excellent balcony can be good, you cant sit balcony and balcony is not clean
everything is perfect during our stay. the swing pool water deepth is 1.4m, no kids pool.
Silom is a nice place to Stay, and this hotel cover this by combining it with a great value for money,
The room was very well designed and comfortable. I would recommend it to everyone and when visiting bangkok again, I will not need to look further than centre point. Will see you again soon Nothing
breakfast is good, very close the sky train and boats, person is good room is small, for family it is not enough
Very good value for money, staff were polite and helpful. Good location for the river and shopping in general. Hotel bathroom was poorly equipped. Hot water for shower was very difficult to use. either scalding or tepid.
The buffet breakfast was truly excellent. Both the Skytrain and the Express boats were minutes away so that traveling around and visiting the town was very easy. The internet access was expensive and not accessible from our bedroom as stated.
This hotel is a fantastric value. If you want to be close to the skytrain and river transport this msi the place. If you want to be in a Bangkok neighborhood and sede local life first hand thism si the place. If you want a clean, safe, friendly, economical place to stay, this is the place, If you want a fantastic beakfast package this is the place. If yiou want to be close to local shopping then this is the place. If you want more then go down the street to the Shangra La and pay more but you will not get more. - Dee Ma - Jim Murphy, Crerscent City Ca.
Great location close to Skytrain station and Oriental express ferry pier. (between oriental and Shangri La hotels). Good breakfast and efficient staff.
Spacious rooms, good airconditioning and very friendly personal which is very helpfull. location close to skytrain station and super market and boat transport Rooms a bit spartan (no extras then the bare necesities) and no free WiFi
Bed was extremely good. Room was big, looked new, nice bathroom, quiet. We just needed it for one night and it needed to be close to the railwaystation. This was exactly what we were looking for. In the morning we asked if it was possible to have breakfast and they said it was, but would take 30 minutes. Then I was the sign requesting to order breakfast the night before...) That was not very convenient
Unfortunately a bad experience not only for the hotel but the trip itself. Specially the staff did not care at all about the clients (they are more worried about the money), no facilities at all, in room thelephone not working, no food available, no help for emergency situations (hospital and pharmacy), not a safe neighbourhood as we have been robbed 3 blocks away. The pictures shown in the websites does not match with the real scene.
Staff very pleasant and obliging. Room was good value for money - large, clean, good cupboard space, quiet, good a/c, wifi & TV facilities. Modern and clean bathroom. Hotel located near the river next to Royal Orchid Sheraton - quiet spot and very convenient to river ferries and other transport Nothing we did not like.
Very nice people, we stayed in the thai typical bungalows behind the Residence, it feels like you are out of the noisy center but still you are right in the center close to everything. Good spot to sleep to visit the ruins and temples. Internet is for free, breakfast is good.
Its location is close to the boat terminal. It's convenient if you want to make trips along the river. We asked for a morning call at 04.30 am and a taxi at 05.00 am and made to the airport on time, thanks to the lady at the front desk. No view at all from the small window. We made separate bookings for two days, had to be moved to a different room on the second day. So we asked the front desk to move our luggages to the new available room, but when we came back late in the evening, our luggages were still at the front desk. How disappointing.
The room was spacious. It was hard to find the hotel. Also there was no place to hang towels.
It was hard to found by the taxi driver. No hot water,no thermos flask in the room!! If you want to drink some hot water you have to get down to the ground floor!! The room isn't good as I could see on the Web.So disapper....
The staff kindly and helpful . The room was clean. It easier to the the boat tours. Every thing was perfect i dont know why they complain.
Friendly and helpful staff. Near the river and public transport boats. Noise from the aircondition coming from other rooms
wi fi for free in the room and was good connection , quite area , the staff was so nice , the hotel was close from boats and just 10 min by tax from siam city cenetr which is maximum 100B or tok tok 30B , no safe box ,weardrop was very old , and the thing i disliked most the Light system in the room was really bad . i think if the renew the light system will be nice standard hotel.
Everyone was very nice, and the place was kept in very clean condition. Nice location next to the BTW skytrain. And the #1 bus will get you directly to and from Wat Pho. I didn't like that the "privacy" curtains for the beds left a foot wide gap at the bottom. They wernt very private. I didn't mind personally as I enjoy the open air hostels, but the curtain makes the dorm room less social than if it was fully open. It was somewhere between social and private that I personally didnt like. They also have a restaurant on the first floor, but it was too expensive for my backpacker budget.
