Convenient for city centre and the business quarter. The front of the hotel was shrouded in scaffolding in early September 2010. The entry to the underground car park is narrow, and parking requires restricted manoeuvring of the car.
Pool, sauna, gym.
The staff and service were excellent. The hotel restaurant and breakfast were very good.
Large quiet room.Large TV screen. Good airconditioning. Excellent breakfast and dinner. Presence of Spa en fittness center. No
Everything worked well, and the pool was nice
Excellent, very helpful staff, very convenient location. A very pleasant stay overall.
We liked the bath anemities, the extra line in the shower to hang towels & swimsuits to dry, and the staff were all friendly.
The room was clean and the linen did not have any holes or stains. The staff was friendly. The double rooms might be ideal for single business travellers. Under the heading "share a fart" the door to the bathroom was not only transparent but also sufficiently open so that sounds and smells could spread freely. - The heating/air-conditioning system was difficult to control and even the staff did not know how. There was no shampoo in the room, but only hair conditioner and no shoe cleaning service at all.
The Hotel was centrally located and the staff were very friendly and helpfull. N/A
the resturant was ok the size of the rooms to small with that kind of prices almost 900swis franc for two night
location Pool The rooms are a bit small bad smell in room
Very helpful and courteous staff, good location
The hotel was not a typical chain hotel - it had individual character and warmth and provided a relaxing atmosphere very close to the centre of Basel.
Well designed. Original.
The ambience and closeness to the hisoric area, river and city. The 92 stairs to the top but without them, you miss so much.
Very simplistic. Cheap furniture
the room was extremely simply furnished, extremely hot and facing the court where customers of the restaurant could be heard ! until after 1am and the staff started to prepare the tables for breakfast at 5 am. A lot of money for no sleep at all
It's central location, spacey room and friendliness of the staff (also towards our youngest member).
Rooms were spacious for European standards and very nice bathroom. Comfortable beds. I guess beinging an American and addicted to tv. I missed it. We did not spend that much timein the room so it turned out ok. Funny how you become additiced to something minor.
the location of the hotel the bed - too small - and we had to order the tv
Hotel very well located in central Basel. Restaurant pleasant and food OK Restaurant slightly overpriced for what it is
good staff, nice location, very comfortable hotel
Hotel staff were very welcoming and helpful, the rooms were comfortable and very clean, the location was very central, though walking back late at night alone is the only downside as it is not on a main and well lit road.
it was clean and well positioned for both the town centre and the train station.
it is in a convenient position, is clean & comfortable
We will stay there again next next month.
Well appointed, comfortable, quiet in the middle of the city, easy access to public transport, super friendly and helpful staff. A very relaxing, comfortably appointed garden for a complimentary drink and snack in the afternoon /early evening. I was not unhappy with anything. Great location, great staff!
very central no tea or coffee facties, walking instrustion not very good take the 30 bus one stop
Very friendly staff, room was comfortable and clean with flatscreen tv and nespresso coffee machine. Free Wifi worked well, even in our room on the top floor. Breakfast was a nice buffet with lots of choice. There are free drinks in the lounge every day from 3pm. Great location as well, only 5 minutes walk from the lively town centre. Nothing really, we were very pleased.
friendly atmosphere good service
excellent staff the tv - it was set for all the chaneles (including Kosovo television) but not for any Romanian chanel. I just wondering how many inhabitants are in the small Kosovo?! In Romania there are >22.000.000
The staff was professional, curteous, multi-lingual, and the front desk was always staffed. The hotel was amazingly generous with coffee, wine and snacks available throughout the day and evening. I also had free access to a computer and internet and a quiet place to settle in and work near the coffee, wine and snacks. A variety of international newspapers and magazines were available as well. Within just a few hundred yards I found the Marketplace, filled with shops, restaurants, and an art museum with an impressive collection of impressionist paintings (my favorite) was also just a 10 minute walk away. Did I mention there was free coffee, wine and snacks?
1. Entirely clean. 2. Great view of the Museum of History and the little square in front of it. (At least from my room.) 3. Good location with pedestrian streets & many shops; just a few tram stops from main train station. 4. Staff are friendly; they are there mostly for the restaurant, but they try to be helpful. 5. If you must stay in Basel, there is no real reason to not stay here. It is simple but it works fine with no major issues. 1. About 150% overpriced, as is most everything in Switzerland, 2. WiFi was very weak in the room (about 35%); I often had to go into the hallway to get webpages to load. 3. Only 1 male toilet on the floor, which means that sooner or later you will wait or have to go to another floor. 4. Mattress was a bit too firm. 5. Cleaning staff only there in the morning, so if you sleep in until noon, your room will not be cleaned. 6. The office is closed on Sunday, making it impossible to print out anything on that day. 7. The kind of place that has to put an ashtray in the WC, because if they did not, guests would create burn stains on the top of the toilet paper dispenser by leaving their lit cigs there while wiping their butts.
