Excellent service and quick response to any issues. Front desk spoke English. Rooms are large. Good amount of English tv channels. Bad room service food. We should have complained. Bread was hard as a rock. Soup was cold. Sandwich was not edible. But the food in the restaurant in the morning was good. Buffet is excellent as well.
Design of lobbies, eateries, and design and furnishings of room. 1) There is some stains on carpet (below table) in room 607. 2) There is no free PC terminals for a quick and short access of internet (usually available to house guest in European hotels of similar positioning. 3) One front test lady, though pleasantly presentable, was impatient with most guests at counter.
Great, clean and quiet location
Booked club level room which included club lounge with happy hour dishes with wine, beer and spirits. Nice selection of dishes to include hot foods. Breakfast also included with club room was the magnum opus with a wide varied offering of classic world breakfast menu. Hmmm..can't say ..not really any gripe other room air on was too cold.
I made a reservation for my wife who is Chinese. Upon her check-in a very rude female desk clerk questioned her last name for twent minutes even though it was in her passport. She treated my wife like a tramp. She bothered my wife all night long with little nothings. I will never stay at this Sheraton again.
When visiting the Central Business District, the Sofitel offers a great bed in a great room, a welcome addition to the expanding neighbourhood. The exterior of the hotel does not stand out as it is part of a much larger complex. Some improved sinage would be appropriate for such a high-class business hotel.
Rooms well appointed Staff attentive Club lounge excellent Pool large and well appointed Nothing :-)
I was unable to find a bellboy to bring my bag to my room when I checked in.
Decoration is high level.
Excellent room with very comfortable beds by Chinese standards. The staff were super friendly and offered to bring in an extra bed, slippers, and towel for us at no extra charge for the third person in our room. The front desk helped us plan our day outing to the Great Wall and were very friendly every time we interacted with them. Helpful if you can speak a bit of Chinese, as some of the staff struggled to communicate in English. The location is kind of far from the city center, but accessible easily via subway.
Myself and my family had the pleasure of staying at the Fairmont Beijing from 15th August to 18th. We had arranged airport pick up with the hotel and they were there to meet us after we departed the baggage area - a hotel rep whisked us through the airport to the waiting car very efficent and helpful ( speaks english ). The hotel is newly opened and is wonderful with large rooms with two TVs ( one in the bathroom ), the staff are very frendly and will go out of there way to asist you in anyway. A highlight of our stay was dinner in the CUT Restaurant. It has to be the best steaks in Beijing and the service was equally as good. We also had excellent breakfasts and one lunch in the hotel. They have just opened the Fairmont Gold lounge where you can have breakfast and evening snacks - well worth the extra money you pay . Looking forward to visiting Fairmont Beijing again and trying a few other Fairmonts in the future .
We stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel is in the soft opening stage and were told only 50 rooms were available. It seemed like we were the only guests but we tried to get another room for a friend and they said it was booked. The location is fairly close to everything as as a reference it is 2 blocks away from the crazy silk market. The staff were fantastic and all welcomed us by name each time we entered or left the premises. The staff service from top to bottom could not be faulted. The rooms were large and very comfortable. We used the gym daily and with the latest equipment was great to work out on. The Willow spa common to Fairmont was not open yet but should be fantastic. We travel to Beijing once or twice a year and will make the Fairmont our new Beijing home. TIP: Print the address off and a map before you leave for China. Being a new hotel drivers from the airport had a hard time finding it.
The location of this hotel is excellent. They are renovating their rooms, which were looking a little tired. The staff is helpful, despite the limited amount of English spoken. Maps in a Western language available at the concierge would be helpful.
Tidiness and staff was quite helpful. The hot water treatment and shower facilities were attractive The water of the swimming pool was cold. Conciege people didn't know well except booking coach bus. The location was near the end road so it was hard to get taxi and the staff didn't help much. Choose this hotel if have arrangement prepared for car or know the way to subway to get around.
Good hotel for business traveler. Metro station close by.
Very nice hotel. Staff was very good. It was a short stay, but very nice.
The hotel is conveniently located near the subway stations and makes it easy to conduct a self-guided tour of many of the sites once one learns how to read the subway city map. The area around the hotel had a few American food restaurannts. The room was not as clean as I would have expected from a 5-Star rated hotel. Personally I would give it 3.5-4 stars. The restaurant at the hotel had terrible service, waited 52 min for a pizza to be cooked and the staff was very inattentive.
The hotel is worth the money. Clean well equipped rooms with design touch. Not too far from the city centre and near to temple of heaven.
i liked the room , was a bit small for a family but okay , the spa is great but expensive , room service is great , the staff tried everything to make our wishes happening , i liked the hotel , also great pool and fitness area , sometimes we had to wait for someone to help with luggage , the fridge was not cold in the room , no shopping mall in walking distance
Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful hotel overlooking Park and Lake. The Spa facilities although very good were extremely expensive for treatments. One and a half treatment cost the equivalent of 2 nights stay at the hotel! Ridiculous.
The welcome was very good. Good beds, beautiful view on the lake. New hotel with nice rooms with everything what you can need: slippers, bathrobes, even toothbrushes. Taxi chauffeurs didn’t know where the hotel was, because it was brand-new. On the first night we had a problem with air-conditioning. Breakfast finish at 10 a.m. – it means that food was cleaned up from the buffet and the light went off 10 min. later. And by-the-way: coffee was awful.
Very comfortable , great value of money. the common problem in whole Beijing ... hard to communicate in English, the location is little far from the center of city , but if you don't care much about being in the center then this hotel is the perfect one
Very nice fitness room and swimming pool, sauna. There is also separate drinking water tab in the bathroom beside mineral water free of charge. Unfortunately there is no computer in the room, although there is free access to internet. But a lot of traveller don´t take laptop with themselves. A five star hotel should equip computer in the room.
It is a ultra luxury hotel at fraction of the price for a five star hotel. The room was comfortable and the in-room dining was excellent, though the menu is not complete yet (hotel was just opened in Dec, I think). Location is at 2nd Ring Road, and is near to Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven and Wangfujing Shopping Street (about 10 minutes ride/ or about RMB 20)
the room none
The cleanliness and the comfort and the quality of food and service
The hotel is well run and the staff is helpful and available. Property of the English language is widespread which makes life easy for foreign travelers. Location is central, minutes away from the underground line that connect to the financial district. English TV channels. An all around very good value for money. For business travelers, don't get to the breakfast after 07:30 am, it can get pretty packed and the service suffers from a bit of overloading.
All staff were personable and very helpful to non-chinese speakers. Breakfast was delicious, especially the bircher muesli. Room was quiet and comfortable. Hotel was central and convenient for our visit. An extremely enjoyable experience.
The swimming pool, the location, the garden
The staff were friendly and very helpful. The room was rather clean.
Excellent Hotel. Very comfortable, good location, very convenient to underground transport, and excellent friendly staff. The booking process with Kayak was very problematic. The Hotel did not receive the reservation and it was a major. lengthy effort to get it sorted.
i thik i am being doublr charged by booking.com and the hotel
The total courtesy of the staff was overwhelming. Any problem was quickly addressed. They do not accept China Southern Airlines reward cards !!!!!!! Almost every hotel in the world has an affiliation with all major airlines for frequent flyers. Extremely disappointing. I won't stay there again due to this
Room was very comfortable and clean! Had problems with shower and aircon, but service repairs were there within in minutes to repair! Good service. Very big and impersonal - but the comfort, staff and amenities made up for it!
Service and cleanliness Check in ...too time consuming
Great room for the price. Great location next to subway, which is critical in Beijing. At breakfast, we arrived 5 minutes before it was about to close one morning. Things had already begun to be packed away. This should not happen until after the deadline. The deadline should only be used to stop admitting people, not to pressurise those who are there. We were admitted and were physically racing against staff who tried to reach things before we did and snatch them from under our noses so we couldn't get them. This was our only bad experience and it was quite unacceptable. Again, the deadline should be used to stop admitting people. Those who are admitted should be entitled to have their breakfast in peace.
a lot of noise there was a time of redecoration
huge breakfast buffet; terrific gym and spa; spacious lobby; housekeeping staff. high prices for restaurants; bed was old and lumpy and able to feel the springs under mattress. I spent 6 nights so it was an issue for me.
great location, very nice restaurant on top floor and great club in underground, nice lobby hotel room need renovation and new furniture, for this I will rate hotel for 3*
Breakfast N / A
A 6pm sundowner on the revolving floor watching the lights of Beijing come on was worth the pretty hefty price for the drink. To cold in the buffet restaurant at night
nothing special. Cleanliness in both room.
Comfortable bed and bathroom, high end feel without the high end charge, superb swimming pool and sauna No CNN or BBC, and staff speak only basic english. Despite the international name, the hotel seems to target the local market.
A CBD hotel with glasswall exterior, but with a pleasant interior and natural marble finishings. Highly recommended for businessmen, who know their way in Beijing and appreciate value for money. The international hustle and bustly, but for that, you can walk to the nearby China World Tower.
It's not 5 star hotel. May be 3.5, maximum 4. Good location in the center, but closer subway station in 15 min by walk. Bad English on reception, bad service in the rooms, expencive price in restaraunts, not bad fitness center and swimming pool. Not bad hotel for chinese buisnesmen, but no for foreign tourists.
Staff very courteous and helpful. Room good size and well appointed.
The services in the hotel was generally good. We would like to compliment the great service rendred to us by the Concierge. Thank you very much. However, the service in the executive lounge was poor. Staff and even the manager were not trained, they do not possess food and beverage service skills and knowledge. They were busy entertaining themselves and guests like ourselves were ignored. the food quality for both breakfast and evening cocktails were poor.
The staff were very helpful, and most of them spoke decent english and made it easy to communicate. The rooms were really nice and clean, and the size was great. Very good value for money. On the map and in the hotel introduction it's made out to be walking distance to the silk market, but it's actually a 40 minute walk and you are alot better off getting a taxi. The pool is supposed to be free, but swimming caps are mandatory without this being stated anywhere and you are charged 170 CNY for one, which dismisses the point of being free of charge I think, as not many bring a swimming cap. We were on a shopping holiday, but when we arrived at the hotel they charged us 5000 CNY in deposit for the room. I thought this was way over the top, as we had already paid for the hotel. The money wasn't back on my account before two days after I left, and therefore shrunk my budget alot. The breakfast was expensive and not very tasty.
Quality of the Room NN
The hotel is very nicely appointed, the natural wood and marble provide optimal ambience, the bed and bathroom are very comfortable Language barriers and local management make this hotel less accessible for international tourists, but it's a gem for the experienced business traveller seeking 5 star comfort at a 3.5 star price. A true find in Beijing.
