The staff was very friendly & they upgraded us to a suite which was lovely
I myself am in the hospitality sector, and my expectaions on a hotel on one of the main streets of Bern were the "regular touristic stuff", however the two concierges I dealt with, the front desk personel and the rest of the staff were more than friendly and helpful all the time.. For example, when we went to have breakfast 5 minutes after the buffet was supposed to close they did all for us to enjoy our teas ans latte capuccini as well as the full buffet (excellent pancakes and also the parmiggianio was great).
Proximity (5-10 mins walk) to all major Old Town attractions, shopping and transport as well as charming attempt at the true Belle Epoque style felt throughout the hotel and the rooms. Also a bowl of fruit and a welcome hand-written note from the owners was a nice touch. There is a nice and relaxed restaurant on the ground floor/terrace level which is very pleasant for a quiet coffee in the morning or late dinner/drinks in the evening. It is a boutique-style Old Town hotel but it does feel a little "tired" and is edging more towards the 3* rather than 4* hotel. Facilities are very basic, as is a very expensive (CFR 21) buffet breakfast and room cleaning service leaves a lot to be desired for. Room prices are comparable to other 4*-5* hotels in Bern but offer very poor value for money.
Friendly staff and good location Only one person of staff was working at reception and restaurant (at the same time)
upon arrival they had a very nice and amusing jazz concert...good music and very nice "ambiance"...
The Sunday evening concert
I had visited the hotel in the 90s when it was a bijoux of beautiful original art nouveau antiques. Now it is ugly and full of second rate flea market objects. What a disappointment!
I enjoyed the good service and the friendly staff. However, the hotel is quite small with smallish rooms and a small stairway. The lift was useful to get the luggage up. The double glazed windows were needed to keep the street noise down. The room air became stuffy overnight. I liked the Art Deco room decor. Breakfast was expensive, but so was everything in Switzerland.
Wireless LAN The rooms I was in was a bit oldfashioned, and not suited for the business traveller (very small table to work on)
Really nice place, extremely kind staff.
everything - Actually, we think you have under-rated the hotel in your website. it is fantastic and the staff are all very friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Hotel has great ambiance and location is great!!!
Good location in Bern Downtown.. Rooms are clean... The hotel is located in a nice area in downtown..
Very central, could catch a bus from railway station, could walk everywhere while in the city No fridge, no lift, very basic
nice staff, nice atmosphere and the rooms were comfortable
Very old room, bath room looks clean, but found cockrocahs on the wall and on the room table. WiFi did not work. Dust in the closet.
perfect location, friendly personnel, rooms are clean, free WiFi in rooms
It was centrally located. The hotel was not value for money. For the money we paid I would have expected better service and better accommodation.
Nice location in centre of Bern. Warm welcome, good room. The bar of the breakfast is not the best.
The location and the price Guests going to bed late and very noisy. It could have been a one-off but someone managed to open the door the door to my room after midnight giving me an almighty fright (I was asleep) although they apologised. Why did their key work???????
