We really enjoyed the spa and pool on the roof. The room and the view were both excelent. The housekeepers did a wonderful job and it was a pleasure to come back to our room in a clean and well presented state. Thought it was very strange to find 1 bottle of water and 1 apple left for us as complimentry when there were 2 of us staying in the room.
good position very helpfull staff small rooms , hotel; needs general update
Nothing Rooms overpriced, cleanliness poor, in room facilities poor especially internet connections, Restaurant overrated and expensive, car parking fees charged when free days on public holidays, Breakfast over priced and poor quality (eg no fresh eggs), Electrical items in room defective.
Close to Spring Hill and the river We'd booked two rooms, one for my husband and myself, the other for our adult daughter. We asked if the rooms were different, if one was better for a couple, and told there was no difference. In fact, one had a much larger bathroom. The staff should have known this and advised us accordingly.
great staff especially nicola and very comfortable. the restaurant was very good too.
Very little. It was poor value for money and I would not recommend it to anyone. There was no free parking for hotel guests. The hotel is a long way from the CBD and surrounded by steep hills. The rates are high but the facilities are poor. The room was serviced but no fresh towels were provided. The interior of the rooms are pleasant enough but the corridors and elevators are dated and shabby.
The weekend deal was very good with the first class buffet breakfast and the complimentary parking as part of the deal The folding door into the bathroom was poor and ours did not shut properly.
Modern, clean, friendly service. Compact room but still spacious enough to function. Beautiful view and the lovely Roma St Parklands across the road. If you want to walk to the city expect a decent uphill walk on the way back.
Friendly guests and staff The mildew on the grouting in the bathroom
The swimming pool, the view and the restaurant and its friendly wait staff. I liked that we could leave our bags without any hassle. The cabs came quickly. The noise from the renovations in the afternoon! I didn't like the lack of a sewing kit in the room and the lack of a newspaper at the door although I got these by asking at reception.
It was central, well known brand and useful as an overnight stay, and had a secure carpark. On the top of the Hotel half the neon lights spelling out the Hotel's name were broken, so the name of the Hotel was unrecognisable when driving to it at night.
Staff very friendly; hotel itself maybe due for slight make-over Bit down-at-heel furnishing-wise
Convenience to Central station, and Queen Street Mall for good restaurants/dining when you arrive late. Very polite and helpful staff, impressed with pre-arrival call.
Atmosphere was good. , Liked the heritage aspects. Better location than centre of city but convenient to rail. Excellent restaurant. Our room 305 was a bit tight - next time we'll ask for a larger one. Mattress on the bed is perhaps near its end of useful life.
The meals at Armstrongs Restaurant were a highlight of our stay. New carpet had just been installed in our room so there was a chemical smell throughout our stay,
Convenient to central station Bed was uncomfortable. Lack of pleasant outlook. (I am confused as to how any response to this question can be separated from the instruction not to use this for complaints.)
Proximity to Train line and city centre (short walk).
Friendliness of staff and the old world charm, but food staff need to review their efforts noise from traffic
clean, self contained, bed great/ small complex, easy come n go bottle opener needed replacing, I did a questionare and handed it in to reception already, maybe a small bottle of wine 300mls instead of a bottle 750 mls as I was alone
Most enjoyable in all ways - Friendly staff - Clean Room with plenty of room with modern Bathroom - Good position in the city - Close to main Railway station - Taxis waiting out the front - Direct route to Airport - Good Restaurants on the river within a 10 minute walk - Would defintely stay there again No
The bed was very comfortable I booked a king bed, and we ended up with twin beds. Too tired to bother changing rooms, so we kept the twin beds.
We found , the hotel , and the staff to be of a very high standard. Well stocked mini bar for our late arrival. Only let down on 2 issues ; poor quality toilet paper , and no complimentary biscuit with the tea/coffee . Am sure these are great cost saving ideas ,but , they take the shine off a great effort on all other fronts.
Thought there would be bigger rooms. Thought it would nicer for the price for an ex room
I loved the beds, comfortable mattresses, lovely pillows, cozy duvets. They do not serve decaf coffee in the buffet breakfast. If you want one you have to pay.
the staff were all so friendly and helpful everything was so clean and new no complaints
The room and staff were lovely. Breakfast was great.
Convenient to city centre and Central Station overpriced breakfast
bathroom is good and the car park is big too expensive
Had booked the room seveal months ago and when we asked for an upgrade , got it with a smile from the desk clerk.
Clean rooms, nice bar and good breakfast The drinks in the bar are very expensive and they closed at 10.00pm on a Saturday night with guests in the bar, we had to leave and go somewhere else
Clean, staff were great, close to where I needed to be Raised lip of floor into the bathroom, couldn't use the balconey, lift floors were uneven
Room was quiet, Tv was on the wrong screen ratio and menu was not accessible. Outside of building needs major facelift. Was not happy with the extra $16 car parking charge
I t was handy to the hospital. The room had nice modern furnishings the breakfast was excellent, compliments to the cheerful chef ooops the cleaner forgot to empty the bin in the bathroom from previous guests.
Staying across from the park and being close to Roma St station were positives. The toilets for reception are not very nice for a motel and particularly for first impressions if you need to go once you arrive from the airport, which is possible.
Breakfast was delicious. Complimentary all-day coffee was appreciated. Friendly staff. Description had "pool" ticked, but there was none. Double bed was actually two singles pushed together so not that comfortable. Separate bathroom required a walk down hallway past other guests which was not desirable.
We got in a delammar and they fixed the problem to as much as they could. One night staffmember on front counter was rude in his greeting Saturday night after comming back from our wedding day we wernt greeted nicely just gota hi, thats very unwelcoming also we ordered the romance package which included Chocolates, Champain, & rose pettles all we got was the rose pettles, the rooms look bigger in picture than reality we were dissaponted we had no view but of a brick wall we were charged each night from the upgrade and wasnt told it was a charge for each stay and they tried to charge us for breakfast which was included in our package as I paid the extra but never recieved it we were told it wasnt part of the package but my email booking says different we paid for it, they removed the b,fast costs.
no car parking included in price
Nice decor and comfortable bed. Restaurant quite good with not a lot around the area. It is uphill from down town.
Nicely designed and furnished room, good location , very clean.
I loved it!! The staff were fantastic, the room was in excellent condition.. Room wasnt very big but it was perfect for 2 people.. It was clean & quiet..Very modern and close to everything.. I highly recommend staying there and I will be returning and will be telling my friends and family about it!!!! Tv and iPod doc were such excellent extras... I wouldnt recommend it to people who like big open rooms but perfect to be cosy and close to your loved one..
Room was relatively small but functional. clean tidy, and all facilities worked well
location to business is very convenient (next door) no in room breakfast service; no gym; rooms small (but functional)
The hotel staff were very helpful and very friendly, the Bar an restraunt had a great atmosphere and the food was delicous. The rooms were thoughtfully kitted out and were very modern. The room had a small balcony where you could sit and read a book and relax. The hotel was only a 10 min walk to the main shopping centre.
Clean, convenient and affordable but air conditioner in 603 was not effective so my night was hot and uncomfortable There is no where to sit in the room so it is suitable for people who need just a place to sleep.
Friendly counter staff, good room price Besides continental breakfast, meal prices too high
convenience of location and comfortable room.
Great location, walking distance to cbd; view either on pool and park or cbd skyline; quiet regarding traffic; guest's laundry (coin operated); pool (with always a nice breeze, so it doesn't get too hot); rooms are comfortably big; Just to write something: not too soundproof, we weren't disturbed by anyone though (and still much better than other locations!); we liked the place that much that we made another reservation immediately for the end of our holidays
Easy to be reached by car, internal car parking, courtesy of staff
Staff polite and helpful. Nice room with lovely view of Brisbane city. A bit far out of the city if no car. Buses not very frequent.
It was all wonderful Not enough time to stay there
My husband and loved the friendly staff the cleanliness, comfort and the fantastic location. We found the accomadation perfect, we only stayed one night because it was a work organised christmas function so originally it was all about location but having had such a great time we would not hesitate staying longer and doing some sigthseeing next time.
Friendly staff, good restaurant and parking facilities. Not luxurious but very suitable for our purpose. (Usiung this spce to say how am I meant to answer the questions two below without going n to your web site?!!)
upgrade to executive suite No wine in bar fridge. Mirror in bedroom in inaccessible position. No chopping board for cutting up fruit in the kitchenette.
The very helpful and cheerful attitude of the Reception staff member on my arrival.
The location was central with easy access to popular areas in the city as well as Central Station and Adelaide St. The rooms appeared outdated and dank. The shower was uncomfortably small and would flood the bathroom every time it was used. I did not feel comfortable using the laundry as it was dirty and remote. There was no free wifi in the building.
The owner make a fantastic service and they are very frindly. All is clean and the swimming pool good when is hot weather all
quiet and comfortable heater of air-conditioning doesnt work
The room. very happy :) No
The location is strategic because I just need to walk around 5 minutes to reach the train station. On the other hand, it is near to Chinatown whicn I can find my favourate food around there However, the hotel need their guest to share bath room which is not very convinience for the family stay but it okay for the couple to stay.
The staff were extremely helpful and kind. They tried to make my stay as comfortable as possible
Close to the train station
studio set up, helpful staff
It was clean, comfortable, with helpful staff The room was very stuffy during the night but we could have put the ac fan on and didn't.
Very close to the city/valley so easy to get around. Very friendly & helpfull staff. Would definatly stay again.
The Spring Hill Terraces is fairly centrally located, being within comfortable walking distance from the centre of Brisbane. The phone system appears to be somewhat erratic (misattributing of call charges)
convenience no food
The staff was great and made sure that you felt welcomed. The hotel was clean and was comfortable. It was close to the main shopping area. It was everything that I wanted.
convenient location to city limited onsite parking
Very Central for shopping and Medical appointments
Location near Brisbane CBD
Very convenient location for central Brisbane, handy to railway station, buses, Queen St mall, river etc. Nice comfortable room with large full length windows along one entire wall, opening to small balcony.
Location, easy walk to down town The breakfast and evening meals were very good We had to leave and come home
As we had a function to attend, we only needed a place to sleep and we found this quite adequate and good money for City Hotel
Everything was in order and to be expected.
It had the feel of an old style hotel, small and personal, rather than huge and impersonal. The balcony and view of the Tower Mill across the road That we didn't have time to stay longer!
