Central situation in Bristol, proximity with the airport in Stansed Stupid customer occasioned fire alarm at 4 am!!!!
Well located on Broad Quay, close to Bristol waterfront, good restaurants within walking distance, walkable to main shpppoing district of Bristol. We booked two rooms, one for 3 people, the other for 2. The hotel placed the extra bed in by far the smaller of the two rooms and the rooms were six floors apart. The larger room, although very comfortable, absolutely stank of cigarette smoke. We were oiffered a small discount on checkout, but this should have been picked up by housekeeping and the room not allocated.
Large bed, nice view, new room.
I asked for a quiet room... I got it. Reception staff extremely efficient and friendly and professional. I liked the colours in the bedroom, appreciated having a bath .. useful in a city to relax.. and beds were comfy. car park was a bit tight with pillars, but I was glad to have it!!
Very central, excellent location for shopping! The hotel andcommunal areas are clean and stylish. Check in staff were very pleasant. the room was clean and stylish, the bed extremely comfortable. the view from the floor to ceiling windows give a great view over the city (15th floor) and make for a very light and bright room. None.
Good sized rooms - clean and well cared for None
Great location for city. Room on sixteenth floor with floor to ceiling window and amazing view. Pleasant room. Staff very friendly and helpful. Reasonably good breakfast buffet. Gym poorly equipped.
Brand new hotel so overall facilities were impressive. Room was large with excellent views. Good sized bathroom. Lifts not all working so long delays going up to 11th floor. Some of fittings in bedroom badly designed E.G. flexible light next to bed had already worked loose, wardrobe door wouldn't open fully due to hitting room door closer.
Public areas spacious, breakfast good. Lifts not working, poor lighting in room, food left in corridor - not worthy of a hotel in this category.
The location near the river. Perhaps a little difficult to locate by car! Unfortunately the heating wasn't working on the 1st floor where my room was allocated. No-one offered a heater of any kind and it was extremely cold weather. I had to request milk as there was non available in the room to make a drink when I arrived after a long journey.
Central hotel. Club rooms very comfortable. Staff very pleasant.
Nice, relaxed and contemporary feel Hotel bar shut at 11pm, even for guests. This should be improved
Nice quiet location very close to everything. The rooms were spacious and clean. Nice size bathroom too. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The food in the bar was delicious. I would definitely recommend this hotel. After a night out on the town, i returned to find i had no electricity in my room. But the next morning i informed the staff who were very apologetic and they sorted the problem out quickly.
Great bathrooms! Flexible on check in time which was useful for us as we were attending a wedding later that afternoon. Extensive selection for breakfast. Rooms could be slightly larger and not so cramped with furniture.
the beds where really comfortable the only thing i had against it which I dont think you can do anything about, is that the room smelled like stale spit, which my husband thinks is the glue that holds the wood panels on the headboards etc.
The pool was an added bonus and the size of the room was excellent, much nicer in comparison to other Bristol hotels.
Bedroom needed dusting - badly
We have stayed here before and wanted to come back. Unfortunately this time the room was a bit shabby.
Good comfortable hotel in a very conveinient location for visiting local family, eateriers and city centre.
An excellent well proportioned room that offered comfort and space. It was also within walking distance of the shopping area.
Excellent location, good price, room v clean. No discount offered on parking.
Central location. Convenient for car parks. Breakfast had good selection and was hot. Coffee especially good. Not enough towels provided
Very good location with easy access to shops and eateries Too basic and noisy
Functional. Your know what you get The noise isolation between the rooms is poor. I had a lot of noise from the neighbouring rooms and hammway
The friendliness of the staff and cleanliness of the room. I would have liked to be guided to my room but instead left to wander around corridors.
The location. The room had obviously not been checked to ensure adequate heating, lighting, adequate curtains and working telephone apparatus.
being near cathedral and harbourside for the money paid breakfast should be included and very tight on tea and coffee and no biscuits
Suprised when able to check into my room at 9.30am when only asking if I could leave my luggage Suprised when apple juice in both machines was empty at 8am sunday morning, but it was filled immediately and a glass brought to me.
The hotel was clean and tidy. Everything in the room worked. The hotel is effectively screened to block mobile phone reception. The machine coffee and limited breakfast options were disappointing.
Straightforwards hotel, good restaurant and service friendly and efficient. We have used Ibis many times before and you know what you are getting.Very reliable. The bed was uncomfortable and hard.
It was very easy to walk to any part of the main shopping centre close to some very good restraunts Hotel had no parking and a very strange relationship with the ncp car park
Courteous staff. Clean Meals in restaurant over priced
Freindly staff, hotel very clean and tidy. Location was perfect for Cabots Circus and centre of town for bars and shops. Great atmopshere. I liked everything. Only small comment maybe is to have 2 robes in the room not just 1!
Staff were excellent as was the food. Hotel lovely and we used the Spa. There is no car park on site but we parked in the ncp car park next to the hotel. You have to pay £11 a night.
Location was absolutely great and spa facility was ideal just to relax in the middle of the hussle and bustle of it all
What i liked was the fact that I was able to take my to girls swimming in a very nice, clean environment, have a nice meal and then spend time shopping/sightseeing in Bristol with a hotel in such a great and central location.
The bed was very comfortable. It was very expensive for what you got.
Good value for money Really nothing
Swimming pool and spa area was perfect for relaxing. Also, hotel location is perfect for Broadmead Shopping area
The bed was very comfortable. No hot chocolate or earl grey tea in the room.
Good location and very clean modern room that was very comfortable.
The staff was very courteous kind friendly they met my needs the facility was well kept (clean) I can't find anything to complain about except not enough tv stations that we could view without paying
The staff were attentive, polite and very pleasant and the meal that we had in the palm court restaurant was of exellent quality and value. A shame that there was a charge for parking.
Dinner in Palm Court, food and service was excellent
Staff in the main were friendly. Once needs were made known they were promptly acted on. Room check should insure that essentials such as toilet rolls are in place after each room service. Desk staff need to finalise business with you before moving to the next customer. At check out the person just walked away before I signed the bill form and I had to ask another desk staff person if the hotel needed the signed form.
The hotel was really lovely, as was our room. Great location. Will certainly go back again.
The evening meal was delicious and our waitress was very pleasant.
breakfast was good but slow on the poached eggs On arrival the bathroom floor appeared not to have been cleaned.
The staff were extremely friendly and the suite was a perfect size for two adults and one baby. None
The location was excellent and the htel looked very plush. The overpriced breakfast and overpriced guest car parking.
The second room we were given was very spacious and comfortable. The hotel was well located. Checkout was efficient and fast. We were initially given a room with no heating. The thermostat was going to be replaced but this had not yet happened. The weather was very cold and it was not satisfactory to be put in a room with no heating. After speaking with check in staff they confirmed room had no heating but moved us to another room which was warm and very comfortable. We were surprised that at the end of autumn in the uk there were rooms that were being booked out with no suitable heating.
Great time, well looked after. Very lovely breakfast. Spa OK Spa could be updated
the bar The staff at the check in desk seemed poorly trained, they didn't acknowledge the person checking in if they werwe waiting, it would have been nice for somebody to sya, I'll be with you in a momment.
Nothing stands out Incredibly over priced. Facilities no better than a travelodge but at double the price. The bed moved all over the place. The shower was a slow trickle. Rubbish.
When we first arrived some of the night staff was not welcoming , but the day staff were excellent, a lot of information was not given to us when we booked in it was the day staff that inform us of what we need to know.
Location Lounge was very cold at times, no saucers with tea cups felt cheap. Beds/pillows were bit uncomfortable. Customers staying at the hotel should not have to pay £5 per day for Parking,
Good parking in central Bristol. The late breakfast buffet up to midday on Sunday. Comfortable rooms. The swimming pool area and changing rooms are quiet small. Not quiet as nice as expected based on other hotels we have visited with leisure facilities..
easy check in and check out. food was good bathroom could do with updating.Having to pay for television even regular channels
very comfortable bed!! good menu selection in the restaurant bathroom too small, lack of drawers in bedroom
The guy who answered the phone to the restaurant was very cheery and helpful. Found it hard to find, when we put the postcode in the satnav it showed 'no route found'. This could be an effect of not updating satnav. When we found it eventually, I walked through the entrance near the restaurant, not knowing where the reception was I tried to ask the 2 two doormen who had their bodies facing me but heads turned to each other. I had to wait whilst they finished their conversation before they greeted and directed me. Didn't give good first impression. The reception was frustrating. We had booked a smoking room and were told that there were no more smoking rooms. The receptionist found this funny as he kept laughing and mumbling to himself. When we got in the room there was a 2" thick line of dust and dirt around the edge
Everything was fine.
The bed was very comfortable and the room was cleaner than i expected for such a large hotel.
easy to find and close to town
Clean modern hotel. The rooms were much smaller than expected, as were the breakfasts.
The friendliness and efficiency of the staff, the facilities in the room (iMac), the quality of the choice at breakfast I find the prices a bit steep at certain times for a single traveller (often nearly £100 a day). There seems to be an assumption that all customers will be couples or friends sharing a twin room and there is no reduction for single occupancy of a double room. I would ask the hotel to consider this.
The young lady on reception was very friendly and helpful The lift was broken - other guests warned us not to use it
The bedrom was brilliant and had everyone you could need and so comfortable the corridoors, general foyer etc very clinical not 'warm/cosy'
The imac facility in the rooms is first rate and definately a cut above most Distance from main centre
Liked the rooms also room service prices for wine was not to bad. Would stay at the City Inn Bristol again Charge for parking
The location of the hotel was perfect for getting around perfectly, little walk to the pubs and restaurants, and also far away for a lot of piece and quiet! Was a few bits of old food under the bed, only found this out as was looking for dropped coins
Staff were very helpfull. If returning late to the hotel the car park was often full and I had to park elsewhere.
Staff were friendly. Hotel room was lovely. Very quiet. It was difficult to find the hotel car park. It could be better signposted. Otherwise everything good.
The rooms were very modern
Clean, nice location
The hotel was lovely. At arrival the lady at the reception was very nice and welcoming. She (same lady) was also very kind and friendly on the day I was leaving. Both nights at the bar downstairs the staff was very friendly and professional. This actually saved my weekend. I have got a premier room which was very good size, however it was very cold! Being there in October i would've thought the heating would be on. So unfortunately it was very uncomfortable and on the other downside, the water wasn't hot in the bathroom! So it was a very cold weekend for me. Also 2 out of the 3 lamps didn't work (the 2 bedside ones -which is a shame as I like to read in bed), in fact their power plugs were different style than the standard UK ones so I wondered how they plug them in anyway?? And the last thing, which is i know not the hotel's fault, but it was quite upsetting as both nights I stayed, my nextdoor guests were constantly drunk and very loud till 4-5am! So all together unfortunately it wasn't a relaxing weekend.
it's central Absolutely awful night, sent to very shabby single room right above function rooms. party below so loud the furniture in the room vibrated until 1am. Then at 7am neighbours put tv on clearly audible through paper thin walls. worst night I have ever spent in a hotel.
soft wide bed thin walls to corridor, so noisy late revellers disturbed us. Hotel staff did reproach them though, so not their fault.
Lack of internet connection services and small room
Helpful staff, location
Good quality, central for Bristol. It was not an easy hotel to stay at. Examples, car park was complexed, door card cleared iteself at 11am (check out 12), gym was across road.
very good location for city centre In one room none of the power sockets worked, in another the toilet seat wasn't fixed on. when we complained the staff were very unhelpful. Very few good english speaking staff
front desk people were very helpful. great location can't think of anything
Very nice location in the old part of the city centre. The hotel is cosy and well-functioning. There was a minibar in the room but it was both empty and locked. I asked could it be opened in order to put there some juice for the morning but that was not possible, since "the locks don't open very well". I suggest the minibars should be removed if they don't serve any purpose...
Very comfortable bed unqualified staff - there were party in the rooms all the night impossible to sleep.
The room was nice, great to have both shower and bath. Reasonably good tv and channels, location was great - near all the best riverside bars and restaurants. Parking was very expensive (£19 for up to 24 hrs). Woke up to the builders from the site next door throwing concrete down a shute, not great. Toiletries very average.
Comfortable enough, with unexpected necessities included such as magnifying mirror in the bathroom to comfortably put make up on. Nice firm bed and soft pillows. I would recommend it to friends and family traveling through Bristol for its awesome centric location with river front view. I did not like the fact that breakfast is not already included at that price. It was a terrible racket noise coming from the above floors in the early hours that woke us up, bit uncomfortable considering I was looking forward to a longer sleep in.
Comfortable clean room
Beautiful room in a beautiful hotel! Very modern and comfortable, the bathroom was exquisite with a lovely big bath. We were supplied with massive dressing gowns too. Nice big tv, very comfortable bed. Lovely bar area downstairs.
Location, Rate, helpfullness of staff, style of room and bathroom Thought price of breakfast quite expensive
perfect hotel, perfect location, perfect for everything
Upgrade for £10 to Superior room with riverside views and little extras TV in bathrooms, bathrobes, also some fab dining near by made weekend really special Nothing
housekeeping staff receptionists waiters and waitresses all very nice
breakfast was good and good value the blankets were a bit tired
The bed!!! Like sleeping (if you could) in a swimming pool on a lilo as you turned over it would catapult your partner into orbit, the pillows were lumpy and hard. Worst night sleep ever. As I booked out the desk person just said we will be upgrading them soon, not good enough Premier inn next time
Big bed and big breakfast.....even if the breakfast was over priced. No
very comfortable, very friendly staff. Clean.
The room was spacious, very clean and modern as was the bathroom and separate toilet which was great! everything was good
Very impressed, nice new facilities, very spaceous room and bathroom, very clean, towels smelt nice, free parking was excellent. Very slight confusion of parking arrangements / how to get to car park.
very clean, new nice beds, good location for the station, friendly receptionist pillows too thick
Very welcoming and close to shops
The free parking was a big bonus as well as being in the centre of town When we googled the hotel postcode, we were sent to the precinct
helpfulness of staff
The standard of room quality and nearness the Cabot's Circus Shopping Centre. would be great if it had a Spa or small swimming pool (somewhere to relax).
Everything was fine at Future Inn.
Nice location very hard to find.
We had a very comfortable and comvenient city stay. Our room was quiet, but a harbour view woukd have been an advantage.
location Noisy if room overlooks street at front. Room was clean but carpet and chairs tatty.
Location excellent - right in the heart of things. Very quiet -surprisingly!
Good food and very courteous staff
Close to the venue visiting duirng the evening
Fairly good location.Very good reception staff. Free parking at the adjacent NCP. Very small room and compact bathroom.Cobwebs on the ceiling. Poor value if breakfast not included.
The staff were excellent - friendly and very helpful - and the room was superb. There was absolutely nothing that we didn't like!
Room service was excellent, the bed was comfortable and I was not aware of any noise at all. I had some distance to walk to Bristol Temple Meads Station after leaving the hotel and I found the map I took off the pad in reception to be rather vague. I also asked directions and it would have been nice if I had received verbal instructions. I was told it was only 15 mins walk but I walk fast and that was not long enough.
location. value for money. Some members of staff had difficulty fully understanding english, which made making requests challenging.
Total luxury, amazing attentive staff, location central, room had all amenities coffee machine, iron and ironing board, slippers, robe Room was warm but air con provided. Overlooked the harbour bars late night music could be heard
Close to station , great hot and strong shower, online checkin Room overlooked by office workers next door, room freshener smell is overflowing and makes room smell like cheap car freshener. Needs power or USB port at bedside.
The hotel was convenient to the station and the airport bus for an early morning flight.
it was so handy to get to train station not to far of walk to city shopping and not to far from the main bar area none
None Car parking is the main problem with this hotel - completely inadequate. Also the price is far too high for what's on offer - the rooms don't even have carpet.
Comfortable and nice getaway Layout of the breakfast was unclear arrived for my pre paid breakfast at 10 30 to be told it had finished even thouhg late riser breakfast was still being served I didn't get my full english !! plus an earful from the missus for getting up late so a more precise layout of the menu explantion and what is consists of would be useful.
Close to train station, Weatherspoons round the corner, rooms nice and big. Difficult at first to figure out how to access the hotel due to current building work No twin rooms or ability to add extra beds despite there being enough room
clean and comfortable Poor parking!! This is a major issue and means we wont use again - we couldnt have breakfast on Sunday morning as we had to go and move the car before 9am. Only good if coming by train.
The hotel was easy to find and very near Temple Meads railway station making it ideal for a quick one night stop-off. The room was comfortable, on-suite, clean and spacious. Slight noise from trains as room was front-facing.
It was cheap and cheerful the staff were helpful and efficient. The breakfast was not very good.
Excelllent room, staff very obliging, breakfast more varied than expected. Unable to access a hairdryer on two out of the three occasions we asked for one at reception. Ibis need either to have hairdryers in the rooms or have more available at the desk, customers were not returning them after use as requested seemingly.
Bathroom facility excellent, clean and comfortable with good service and breakfast with really pleasant and helpful staff. Although it was known that the hotel had air con trouble, this was not made known until arrival. A hotel next to a main station with the only option to sleep with open windows in order to facilitate airflow is noisy and poor value for money. I will not recommend or book there again.
Central for Bristol City Cleaning the brass in the lifts when everybody was leaving
Location, very helpful staff No water in the room, the receptionist said they have stopped giving water in the rooms. You therefore have to pay and wait for water from room service. The room also had some large areas of damage to the walls, it looked as though a decorator had not finished repairing something. Overall though the decor of the room was modern and clean
that i had to pay for parking
Very friendly staff and also great deserts in the evening.
It is convenient for the station, peaceful and clean. An excellent location from which to travel to Business meetings. I was unimpressed with the uniforms worn by your staff members in Reception as they were dull, in colour, apparently unironed shirts and not in any wat smart
location, cleanliness,helpful staff,gym
Room was big and the breakfast was excellent
Very comfortable room Parking charges were high for residents
breakfast, big and very complete room there was rubbish from previous guests in the room
This hotel had everything we needed - comfort, good staff, good service, good food and the room we were given was excellent for anyone disabled (although we arent). Roll in/out shower, pull emergency cords and wide doors, disabled toilet and good access generally. Very hard to find when you do need it - something for them to advertise to those in need. Nothing - would definitely return.
I stayed only one night but experienced good time with Novotel. Hopefully i will get back for more stay. Thank u Novotel. Nothing
Loved the decoration, very comfortable bed, good sized room (superior room), good amount of parking, decent value for money in a good location, staff were happy to accommodate our slightly early check in. Windows didn't shut/seal properly in bathroom which made it cold, had to keep the door shut to stop the room freezing. Shower was dirty - toothpaste and shower gel stains on glass. A couple of carpets and finishes need updating, but still a lovely place.
Did not meet a staff member that was not friendly and extremely helpful. The Hotel Employee went beyond the call of duty in assisting us with transportation needs and sightseeing activities. The location was perfectly beautiful, safe and convenient. No lift!! Too much luggage for climbing stairs.
proximity to the centre Cold room and lack of warm bedding
It's proximity to the train station and shopping in Bristol. Also the staff are very friendly and helpful. No complaints.
availability of food is very poor and breakfast is miserable.
The location of this hotel was ideal for what we visited Bristol for.
it was in the centre of where i wanted to visit the noise from the yard at the back of the hotel - it was so noisy, and started at 5am!! Perhaps sound proofing the windows may help?
The choice between two beds, one with a hard, one with a soft mattrass. It would have been nice to have some personal service during breakfast for the eggs, tea etc.
it was in a good location and staff were very helpful adjoining twin rooms would have been good for our party but there were none in the hotel only a double and twin were available
Lovely staff, convenient location. Basic facilities. Very noisy!
very friendly and helpfull staff and good location for city centre
Quite impressed with the facilities at this hotel although we only stayed one night Unfortunately they had left our window open and no heating on so took a while to heat up
Staff is very good, friendly and helpful and needing a place to stay for the week, it has about everything one would need. Just down the road is shopping for those little things you need. Easy access in and out and very comfortable No pubs within walking distance
Refurbishing reception, access was difficult, no trolleys available or assistance with baggage offered.
The peace and quiet, and helpful (mature) staff in the restaurant!
Clean and comfortable hotel with a good breakfast. Although from the outside it doens't look that appealing, in the inside it is of a good standard. The pool was however really small and it not clear that this was more of a paddling pool than a swimming pool in the literature!
Pool and very helpful staff Rooms are a bit small for two adults and two kids
friendly and very helpful staff, very clean and well kept hotel, pool and spa very good and good location for all areas. standard double room alittle to small, food and drink on site a bit expensive, internet should be wifi free and flat screen TVs fitted
The breakfast was really nice. Also the children's play area and pool were pretty good.
Staff most obliging. Breakfast very good.Upgrade for one double room most impressive.
Location very good easy to find 2 minutes off motorway.
We had a room looking over the park which was extremely pleasant In comparaison to some of the other Holiday Inn we have stayed in, the rooms were a little cramped!
The view was nice. The breakfast was nice. Different types of pillows were available. It was convenient for where we were going. I was woken up at 4am by someone banging a window and entering a nearby room.A carparking problem made us late leaving. This isn't 4 questions, it's much more! I wasn't told this would be a review, I was told it was feedback! At no time in the hotel were we given a feedback form about our stay. There is no "don't know" option if we haven't read the web reviews
It a nice hotel.
Clean, modern, comfortable, excellent breakfasts, everything you could want for a simple hotel stay. Hotel got a little noisy at night - guests yellling at 4.15 am
It had a comfortable room and was close to where I needed to be in the morning (UWE). It was also close to the station. It's a shame there isn't a restaurant, even for simple dishes for people arriving late. It's not always nice to go to the pub on your own, although the pub opposite was very nice and not at all threatening. Would have been good to have an iron in the room. A small gym area would be perfect!
Expected standard- delivered Tea/Coffee machines were not working correctly and the toaster was set too high- burnt my toast. Staff seemed a bit hapless.
Great stay / many thanks
A very comfortable room with a lovely shower. Breakfast was also of a very high standard. I didn't like some people being allowed to eat breakfast while wearing their pyjamas, I felt they should have been told to dress.
Quick check in / out Lack of staff presence Poor quality breakfast Overcrowded at breakfast time
Staff very helpful Quality of breakfast was average - synthetic cheap juices, poor quality coffee , no option of hot food
Its very comfortable and clean It was difficult to find the hotel which was sited well off the city centre. Clearer road directions will help.
Easy to get to. Excellent Breakfast Lift was out of action for most of Sunday and still out of action when we departed on Monday - for cleaning it was claimed.
