Pros: The service counter was quick, we had a small problem and it was resolved quickly and easily. The manager, Sheila, was fun to talk to and worked quickly to get people their cars.
Cons: When I tried to use a coupon at the desk, I was told I had to call customer service, so I did. The guy on the phone made the rental cost about $80 MORE with my discount coupon. The. Manager had to fix it. The car had a problem with the wheel rubbing on something when we had four people riding in it.

Pros: The car was clean and nice, and they processed me pretty quickly
Cons: What's the point of choosing a rental company according to a quote if, on site, they more than double it with fees and taxes and insurance you can't really decline? There's nothing honest about such policy.

Don't do it! Do not book with Dollar!!!
Cons: Let me start by saying I have never written a negative review, but out experience was so horrible I couldn't refrain from earning other. We rent cars at least three times a year and renting with Dollar has been the worst traveling experience to date. When we went to pick up our car the line was huge. All the other rental agencies weren't. We waited for over 45 minutes in line. When we went to the counter the employee, James, was a JERK! He was arrogant, rude and it was the worst customer service we have ever received ANYWHERE! We had booked a deal on Kayak that said that it would fit 5 people in a car and a huge suitcase and they gave us a Ford Fiesta. How was this supposed to fit my family of 5? When we explained this to him he said he could get us a bigger car but it would be and additional $20 a day- making our total bill now more handouble what we were paying. We tried to explain the situation and he kept being rude back. He kept yelling "next in line", while we were up there taking to him trying to work it out. I told it was rude he wasn't helping us and trying to push us out. He said we were taking to long and to go back in the back of the 45 minute line. I told him we couldn't afford $20 a day for just moving up one size of vehicle and he said that was too bad because they were sold out and he obviously didn't care or didn't want to help people out. Did I mention that we had 3 kids with us under the age of 5 and had just come off a 4 hour flight? We finally agreed to his ridiculous terms so we could get a car for our kids who had now waited with us at Dollar for well over an hour. James was so rude and apathetic. It would have been nice to get the rental we had originally signed up for and to have had someone with great customer service. Dollar may be cheaper but they stick it to you in the end. So disappointed.

Car was excellent, but the paperwork was not
Pros: The car was clean, in good condition, ran well and served my needs perfectly. Picking the car up was mostly efficient and dropoff was easy.
Cons: Two points. First, the Sales Rep at Atlanta tried to trick me into purchasing non-mandatory insurance by deliberately not offering 'no insurance' as an option and displaying only insurance options that incurred additional fees. This is a lie by omission and is decidedly shady. Purchasing even the cheapest insurance would have doubled the price of my rental contract. Second, the Dollar/Thrify site is NOT clear that use of a Debit card mandates a credit check and can lower one's credit score. To quote a lawyer friend who was with me at the counter, "That's a class-action lawsuit waiting to happen."

Cons: I was told an extension of the rental was easy and was given a fee. I was told that switching the car out to my brothers name was not an issue and dropping it off at a different airport location was no problem. When the time came for all of that, there was a huge problem. None of what was promised to me was honored and all because of a lack of management on hand, lack of knowledge by the staff and horrible customer service. All of this complied led to overcharges and INCORRECT charges to me and my brother. I am in the middle of trying to get the refunds issued but it has yet to happen.

Pros: Price was good, although the Atlanta airport rakes one over the coals in taxes in fees. They amount to about 50 percent of a days rental.
Cons: Payless did not a car for me when I got there on the time stated for the rental. I had to wait to wait 45minutes for my car. Payless offered no compensation for my inconvenience except to give my corporate rate on a 50dollar/day SUV. I was getting the 19dollar/day compact car.
The agent at the desk didn't even apologize for Payless goof.
On the good side the car was clean.

Atlanta - Payless Car Rental
Cons: When I arrived the desk staff @ Payless told me THERE WERE NO CARS! Even though I had a reservation. I was told I would have to wait till cars were returned. I waited 1 hour and when I went to the garage the Payless LOT was full with PAYLESS RENTAL CARS of all size and models.
I don't know what type of scam this was but it cost me a delay in business meetings I had scheduled upon my arrival. I will never rent from Payless. I would highly recommend blocking this company on your website. There were other people affected by their NO CARS available. I know a couple went to Enterprise. I also was making a reservation with Enterprise when they finally called for me to return to their desk. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER with a car rental company.

Pros: I was surprised to receive a VW Beetle for my rental vehicle. It was a fun car to buzz around in.
Cons: The car was really dirty on the outside when I picked it up. Also the agent gave me a hard sell on the additional insurance. It detracted from the experience and made me nervous to drive the car after I declined the coverage.

They were out of cars and so I was out of luck.
Cons: I arrived at the desk after my flight only to find out that it was a 2 hour wait until they would have a car available. I got on the phone and soon found another car at Enterprise 12 miles away from the airport for the same price. Other agencies at the airport had cars available but wanted to charge double or quadruple my original price with Payless. Got an Uber ride for $11 and was on my way to Enterprise--and they allowed me to return the car to the airport when I was done. Thanks Enterprise! :)
Payless staff could have helped customers to reebook--it took me a good 30-45 minutes on my phone.
Cons: I didn't like the hourly charge. I had picked up the car early and dropped it off at the original time.

Cons: an airport pick up was requested ( ATL ) the web site gave us a reservation north of Atlanta GA 40 minutes from the airport. hen I realized this I received a call from the office asking if I would be picking up the car, then informed me they close in 30 minutes.
My $95 3 day rental became a $356.00 rental
THIS DISTROYED MY HOLYDAY WEEKEND.
I had no money to go out to eat or see sites.

Pros: Car was in good shape, got me where I needed to go, though it had stains in the dash area. Was upgraded for free when they didn't have any economy cars.
Cons: When I came with my confirmation number and confirmation email from Kayak, the enterprise counter said my confirmation number wasn't a real confirmation number. Also they said the price would be three times what I confirmed through your site. Their excuse was "oh, third party sites use different prices". Well, what the hell, why does enterprise even do business with kayak then? The manager came out and gave me a cheaper rate but it was still 80 dollars more than what I was confirmed for. I will never rent from enterprise again.

Reservations are not Guaranteed
Cons: I reserved a car on Monday for Wesnesday morning in Atlanta. I arrived 10 minutes early to give time for paperwork. Upon my arrival the Enterprise Employee told me they were completely sold out of vehicles. I asked how that was possible if I had already received confirmation for my reservation. Then he told me that they sold out of cars after I made my reservation. Another excuse was that the Delta outage (which happened over a week ago) had their entire fleet at the airport. What's the point of reserving a car if they're just going to sell it to the next walk in customer anyway? It is a very unprofessional way of doing business and they had no ETA's on any cars coming in that day. I had to cancel my reservation. I will not be renting from Enterprise ever again because you're not guaranteed to get a rental. If you have somewhere important to be, I suggest trying another rental company.
Pros: I liked the price on kayak and it was easy to reserve the car.
Cons: I didn't like the fact it was the wrong location and there were hidden fees

Cons: Like all car rentals, slow pickup process. That takes way too long. Car a bit dirty. Only had 1/4 of a tank of gas. Impossible to judge gas to pump so returned it with 3/4 of a tank. - of course I don't get money back for giving thrifty more gas. - At return lady was condescending, "Baby, you forgot to fill it up & we gonna charge you $10/gal".
So far I haven't experienced a great customer service car rental.

Toxic smoke embedded in car.
Pros: Only 2 cars to choose from. Maintenance reqiured car or one that had strong smoke smell. I rented a full size car and the one with maintenance required was called a mid size car by the manufacturer and Thrifty told me they don't go by manufacturer standards. I used auto smell products on the upholstery and carpets for the whole week and it couldn't stop the strong smell. My choices worry about car reliability or breathe cigarette smell for a week. I rent cars from this airport often but never this company. Lesson learned.

Cons: Immediately assessed a fuel surcharge upon arrival and assessed an additional day. I showed the receipt for fuel and the surcharge was removed, but they still assessed the extra day, which was ridiculous as the car was returned on time, their agents were just too busy to get to the car.

Cons: I arrived at Atlanta Airport 11:50 PM this past Tuesday night and no one was manning their counter at the Atlanta Rental Center unlike the other companies. After banging on the counter and wandering around for 15 minutes seeking help I finally someone who informed me that their garage booth was located at the other end of the facility. My treatment there was fine. However, I informed the representative that no one was at the main "Rent - A - Center (?)" booth and no sign was there directing customers to the garage booth. She said that was clearly unacceptable and that 2 people should have been there. This was a big inconvenience especially after arriving from a long flight.
The rest of my experience was fine and the Thrifty representative in the garage booth could not have been nicer and helpful.
Cons: The price fouled at check. I was trying to be budget consciencouis and in the end the rental car for one day cost over $300. I was late on return which indontneven rememver discussing the return time and they charged me for another full day. And it was already an expensive rental because I was dropping off in a different location. They included that cost in the 2nd says price as well. Crazy expensive for have this little car for just over 24 hrs. I certainly will never rent from hertz again.
Also the car smelled.

They refused to accept international driving licen
Cons: There was a rush that day in atlanta and the company seems to have come up with a instant stretchy to refuse cars to people with international driving license. I had to visit the International Airport where the same company agreed to accept my license but demanded $200 per day for the same car. I paid for Uber, wasted my time and finally had to cancel my meeting. This is simply rediculous.
People with a US license were asked for 2 separate ID's something again naive and obstructive.

Cons: Driving over an hour in Atlanta traffic to pick up the car, only to be told I could not take the car after all, because, after being told I could use a debit card, I was informed that I needed other documents. I did not have the documents with me because I was traveling. Even if I was willing to leave a very large deposit, I could not rent the car. Terrible service all around!

Cons: Agent informed me that no upgrades were available (I am preferred select) and then assigned me the one in the reserved class with the most miles and most poorly equipped of the three they had. Original car smelled of smoke.

Cons: Car had brake issues. Took roadside assistance 5 hours to switch out car. When I returned the car, they said the returned car by the towing company had damage, which was not caused by me. I commodore to several people in roadside assistance and to avis, but did not get compensated for anything. I am not pleased.

Would not honor Kayak price
Pros: Still got a good deal
Cons: When we arrived, a little late, they said they could no longer honor the Kayak price and charged us $5 more per day for basically the same car. I pulled up the website and showed them I could get an even better price but didn't feel like arguing over $5 since we were only renting for one day. Other than that we got a car with bad wiper blades in the rain. Overall an average experience but what do you expect for the price I guess.

Pros: Customer Service representative was as helpful as could be
Cons: Made a reservation 3 week prior to pickup day. Walked in to rent the car, which I was informed there were NONE LEFT. The car that I had made the RESERVATION for was given away. I was offered a different car that was "5 tiers higher", but was going to get "the best discount available". So NONE of the information I was emailed three weeks before was even accurate.
When it came time to actually pay, I gave my debit card, (which I have used to rent cars before) I was informed I could ONLY use a major credit card. Once again, none of this was mentioned in my confirmation email. Needless to say, nothing could be done, and I missed my Thanksgiving. Thank you Avis .

Cons: The service agents I spoke to had no idea what was going on. They couldn't tell me if the return location was open on the day I wanted to return the car. They couldn't tell me if I'd be charged for an extra day if they were closed. I told them repeatedly that there had been a natural disaster (a horricane) and the city had evacuated but they didn't seem to understand at all. I decided to go with a different company.
