Cons: The countrer Agent Brian at Ontario Airport overcharged me $130 on a total rental of $45. I found that he charged me for a full tank of gas for $9 per gallon. I filled the car before getting there. Really corrupt and dishonest person. He had the audacity to say that the system automatically charged it.
This was my first and last transaction with this crappy company. Your employees are a face to your business. Brian at Ontario airport is putting a corrupt face to your business.

Terribly long wait and bad service
Pros: The daily car rate was good
Cons: I had to wait 1 hr to get checked in with only 2 people ahead of me. The car I was given did not exist and than it took another 30 min to change car and paperwork and leave car rental facility.

Cons: I had made a reservation online for 3 days at a great rate. But I arrived a day early and wanted one more day added to my rental arrangement. At the checkin in desk, they were going to double the entire rental bill for just one additional day. So I cancelled at the desk, and found another rental agency. Not very willing to work with me! Payless wanted me to Paymore!

Fine if you just need a car
Cons: you get what you pay for. The car was cheap but it was worn out. The interior was coming apart, the car had numerous rattles, whistles and whines and there wasn't even washer fluid.

Beware airport car rental locations if you are not
Pros: The staff was okay.
Cons: While I was able to book a car with only a debit card, I was unable to rent it with one. I needed a credit card and/or flight itinerary when I arrived at this specific location. This was not clearly mentioned when I booked it.
When ordering the rental online I had the option to buy separate insurance. I did so and upon being rejected from renting a car I had to make sure to call the insurance company and cancel the policy for the car I never saw. To their credit the insurance company quickly resolved the issue and I had money back in my account in a couple days.
Don't rent a vehicle from an airport car rental because they will make you jump through extra hurdles for no reason. The staff there was okay, I had no problem with them, just the companies policies. Fix this problem so it is made clear what will be needed when you get there.

Great rental but one problem
Pros: Checkin/checkout fast. Car good and decent value. All in-person people very nice and helpful.
Cons: Car over heated. Calling up and road service is a pain. Driver side door unlock did not work. Impossible to reach a person at specific location.

Enterprise Rental PickUp
Pros: This was my first time renting with Enterprise. Pick up was fast and easy and staff were friendly. Was very pleased!
Cons: There was some trash left on the sun visor (fell out when I put the visor down to block the sun). Not a big deal...I would just suggest checking in those unlikely areas for leftover trash from people.

Pros: My day started bad and the guys at enterprise turned it around, upgraded me twice through complications and got me into a very nice Jeep.
Cons: The advertised standard-size car was a Camry. They didn't have one. Offfered us a Kia, which my wife, who has a back condition, found uncomfortable. THE ONLY OTHER FULL-SIZE CAR, beside 2 Mustang convertibles, WAS A DODGE CHARGER, 10.6 inches longer than a Camry and thus harder to park. Having no other choice we took it, and were charged an additional $117 for a larger car. Check-in and check-out was chaotic; they did not have enough staff at San Diego, as well as too few cars. I will not do business with Fox again.

Cons: When I booked the car I didn't know that I couldn't drive it into the States I was planning on visiting. Returned the car immediately after decided I didn't want to modify my plans. Contract was voided with no charges. *Not allowed to drive into any States east of SD, NB, OK or TX.

First time using them...
Pros: Drop off was very easy.
Cons: The Jeep Patriot we got was VERY under powered, and we were hoping for 4x4 which this Jeep wasn't. But by far, the MOST annoying piece of this experience was the very pushy rep that was trying to push Insurance, gas, and road-side assistance down my throat! With lines like "I guess you don't like saving money" and "I hope you don't regret this", it was not a good first step to my vacation. If there were other car rental places around, I would have walked out (They aren't at the airport).

Pros: Always have the best rates. I also left an expensive personal in the car and one of the staff chased me while I was on the shuttle to the airport to return it to me! Very thankful.

Pros: Good rate, seemingly. Was a brand new car, didn't have issues there
Cons: Wasn't clear that this was a offsite/offsite... meaning take a shuttle to the car rental location, then take another shuttle to the fox facility. The second shuttle was left open at the car rental facility with no driver, waited for 30 min till one showed up after I called the office.
Car I reserved wasn't available, pushed on insurance 5 times in the process, tried to force me to use their gas service, and then tried to run a credit report on me as I gave them a debit card (No thanks, here is a credit card).
Definitely a bottom tier company, won't be renting from them again.

Great Van Driver!!!!
Pros: On the evening of February 7 my daughter accidentally left her wallet under the seat and we didn't realize it was missing until we were on our way to the airport. The driver called the rental office and the person looked in the car and didn't find anything. So the driver took us back to the drop-off and we located the wallet under the seat. HE WAS SO HELPFUL AND NICE, THANKS SO MUCH!!!

Pros: Overall price was $60 less than competitors, but this was due to limited mileage. Got 450 "free" miles only, then $0.25 per mile over. Still ended up being less than the cheapest competitor (Alamo as part of their GoAlamo club price).
Cons: First car had a nail in the tire. We happened to notice that the tire pressure was low. Cars do not seem to be maintained well by the company in general. Cars are clean enough, but do not seem new like others. Lot attendants are NOT helpful at all. NO attendant on duty when returning car, and Budget agents apparently do not work after hours, so you have to check in with Avis, their lot & counter partner.

Pros: Ease of pick up and drop off at two different locations
Cons: The woman who attended tricked me into buying a full tank of gas by saying due to the distance and small gas tank I would use it all. I ended up using only half. She never made an effort to disclose that none of the gas will be credited and it is not stated anywhere on their counter. It is stated in the long paper work she gave me after transaction was complete. I noticed at their drop off location, airport Santa Maria, they do have a small sign that states so, but not in their Ontario location. What a gimmick.

Dissatisfied with service
Pros: Redlands drop off was fast and they returned me to my relative's home which was great.
Cons: I thought I was picking up the car from the airport but when I got to the airport office they said I had to pick the car up somewhere else. I had to take the shuttle back to the airport and then get a cab to the car location. When I finally got there, the agent that I was working with was taking calls while completing my rental which delayed my getting out of there. Additionally, the restroom at this location was dirty and the car was dirty too.

This Hertz location should be closed.
Cons: This location had 2 cars available - both were filthy. The seats in one care were covered in dog hair and had urine stains. The staff offered no customer service. I had to wait 90 minutes for another vehicle, no one bothered to apologize or offer an alternative.

Pros: Dennis was even there to run us back in a courtesy car as we dropped off. Apparently at this location on Thursdays and Fridays from 4AM to 6AM, Hertz provides one of their employees in a hertz vehicle to shuttle folks over to the airport. Nice touch Hertz!

Pros: Seemed like a typical checkout, nothing special.
Cons: The rep added insurance even though I declined it, charged me for the upgrade which was supposed to be free. I picked up the car in Ontario, CA and returned it in San Ramon. The rep in return office just brushed me off and said that I should call the Ontario. Ontario office manager was rude and his responce was "too bad".At the end the rental for 3 days cost me more than my original reservation for 5

Cons: I purchased third party insurance through kayak, however upon arriving at the Alamo rental desk in Ontario , I was soon informed by the Alamo employee that the insurance I purchased is likely inferior to Alamo's company (ie 1st party) insurance, which I also purchased. I would like a refund on the third party insurance I purchased, as clearly I was duped online that this was the only option.

They recommended not buying insurance from kayak.
Pros: They suggested buying the $ 9USD insurance from them. I told them I already had insurance. They then told me that "the insurance from Kayak is really hard to make effective", they recommended asking for my money back. I ended up buying also their insurance.
Cons: the drop pick up was somewhat confusing. Did not know I had to call at the Rental pick up place to be picked up again to go get the rental car. Should have office at Rental pick up or at least let folks know to call as soon as arriving to get picked up to pick rental car.

Pros: Using the rented car for pickup and dropoff
Cons: The price quoted was less than what I was asked to pay. It was explained that the price quoted didn't include all the taxes they had to pay. That sounded bogus to me but the price was still very reasonable.
They didn't have the car I reserved. I reserved an economy car and got a minivan instead.
The car was also not very clean. The cup holders were full of chewed sunflower seed shells. Disgusting.

Cons: We rented from LAX and dropped off at Ontario airport. At both locations it was impossible to find the rental office. There are no instructions online about the locations at all. For the LAX location you have to take an airport shuttle to an off-airport location and then the rental company will come pick you up. For the Ontario airport location, they are located inside a hotel, but there is no mention of this anywhere. Also, the first car they gave us had a warning light on for low tire pressure and when we said that we wanted another car, one that didn't need maintenance, they tried to tell us the that warning light was on because they service their own vehicles. This doesn't make any sense. Service at the LAX location was also very slow. All told with finding the office, getting a replacement car, etc. it took us about 2.5 hours to actually rent the car. This was a total waste of a morning on a very short trip to LA.

This was the absolute worst experience I have EVER
Pros: I liked nothing about this.
Cons: I never leave reviews but this has warranted one. Our flight was delayed in Portland, OR, which meant that we would miss our connection from Sacramento to Ontario, CA. We were told our only option would be to be re-routed to LAX then shuttled over to Ontario. The airline was great.
We couldn't get ahold of anyone at the car rental place (Allied) prior to taking off from Portland. In Sacramento, I called up the # Kayak provided and reached Allied. The woman was not at all helpful. I asked if I would be charged a fee if we didn't pick up our car on time, if we would be able to pick up a car the next day, what their number was over there, if she could help us at all since we had to pick up family members who had also flown into Ontario. She said she had no idea what they did at that location and wouldn't call over to get any information.
We were SOL and had no idea if we'd be charged. Next morning, we saw a charge for a full day's rental plus taxes and fees for not picking up our car. We called that morning and that is where it got super "fun". My philosophy is to treat all customer service reps with respect since dealing with people on the phone can sometimes be terrible and it is often not their fault if they can't do anything. That is how I operate unless I am in turn not respected, treated with good customer service, or spoken down to.
I explained that our travel was out of our hands and that we got extremely poor customer service from the woman the previous night who, if she had given us better direction, we could have called Kayak to cancel the reservation, but she NEVER mentioned that! Because of misinformation from their employee who was also not willing at all to help us, we were charged a fee and we felt that was unfair. They said they would not be able to reverse the charge but were being super vague about it, saying that it's just an automatic charge and they can't do anything about it. We asked to speak to a supervisor. We were told to call back the next day to talk to Lan at the Ontario, CA location.
We did that. We spoke to her and she was also being super vague about not being able to reverse anything. She was also being super cryptic in that she wouldn't give us her last name so we could document this. We asked to speak to her supervisor. She said we could call the corporate office but wouldn't give us any names of any one person we should talk with.
We called the corporate office and spoke with Shereen (sp?) and she was being completely unhelpful and cryptic. She would also not provide us with any last names. So on Christmas Eve, she was unwilling to reverse a charge that we incurred because our flight was delayed and we got some of the worst customer service we have ever experienced from their representatives. She said no one could help us and said her supervisor was Matt (turns out is the CEO). Then she hung up on us. Deplorable. Pathetic. We told all of our family members about it. No one is renting from them.

Best rental experience ever.
Pros: Quick shuttle service to the rental site (folk inn). Quick (out in less than 5 min from the time we arrived), zero attempt to upsale. Upon returning the car, they had one of their guys simply drive us to the airport in the car, which was so nice because we had 2 kids in car seats and to not have to move them was simply fantastic. The young man that drove us was super personable. This rental experience will probably never be topped.

Cons: Car had crowbar dents where someone had tried to break in
Cons: We were left standing in the parking lot as no cars were available when we went to pick up. Instead of telling us that, we were sent to the parking lot and had to find an attendant and ask for a car of our class.
Cons: When we went to pick it up, they were out of cars. There were 14 people ahead of us (all of whom had reservations as well), and it took over an hour and a half for us to finally get in a car.
We didn't end up driving out of there until after midnight.
