Close to restaurants, nightlife, and transportation. Very easy to get to from the Chengdu East train station. Nice pool. 25m, not too crowded, good for swimming laps. Good views from the rooms. All the rooms smell like cigarette smoke. Doesn't matter if they are smoking or non-smoking. Went there with a group of friends and we all experienced the same problem. Standard for China, but I figured the staff would be more on top of neutralizing the odor. They were very accommodating in changing my room because my first one was too smoky. 9 Kwai per page to print at the business center is a gouge in my book.
Very clean. Front door staff very helpful. Room service great. Front desk staff not extremely friendly. Outside traffic (horns) a bit annoying.... Not bad enough to ruin the trip.
They need to fix their spa facility so that guests don't need to go to neighboring hotels to get that service.
This place was shockingly nice for an airport hotel. My room was one of the nicest rooms I've ever stayed in. Far nicer, in fact, than the room in the (twice as expensive) conference resort hotel I moved onto afterwards. Airport noise was minimal inside. Impossible to avoid the smell of cigarettes, including in the room.
Efficient We could not get into elevator with the sugar and wine conference going on. And there was no designated entrance and elevator for hotel guests. The entire sidewalk to lobby was full of conference goers and marketers. It was very stressful for guests to navigate and our blood pressure instantly went up each time we entered the hotel. Also there was no clear service provided to guests since there were so many people. We had no assistance getting a cab etc. Their rooms were tiny with a very hard beds so we had backaches for two days. Also the conference goers were smoking in rooms and airing them out by leaving their door open. Our non-smoking room smell like smoke at times. Not a great experience.
Location was rather convenient. There is a Starbucks to the back and a Seven Eleven. There's a 24 hour boutique supermarket one block down, and across the street several tea shops and a hair salon. Only 15 min drive or so from Chun Xi Lu, one of the central locations in Chengdu (IFS is based there). The staff was poorly trained. The room felt dirty and not sure if it was good value for the money. I have stayed at Oakwood in Tokyo and it is 1000x better. The living room/kitchenette was too spacious while the bathroom space was insufficient.
