The price, free parking and proximity to convention center are the benefits of staying there. The elevators were very slow and over the 4th floor jerked and made noises above the 4th floor. Neither the gift shop, cafe or restaurant were open in the morning at least before 9:00 when I left.
It was very clean and the tub was very deep. The bed was comfortable. Room service was prompt, the front desk agents we're great. I can definitely say that this facility is appropriate for a business trip, or if you are traveling alone. It wasn't a bad stay, it just wasnt what i expected i guess. But everyone was helpful and nothing went wrong. The room was smaller than i expected. The lobby area and first floor are very nice, while the rooms are plain and need a few updates. The food in the cafe is good but is overprice for the portion size you receive. There are no microwaves in the room which is a big inconvenience. Aside from the tub i wouldn't characterize it as romantic. And by the microwave bring on the first floor i wouldn't say it was good for extended stay. The tub had a few rust spots also.
the room was nice the accomadations, the parking the restaurants, the lobby. the staff was not very accomadating, will not be staying here againt
The hotel was close to the IIT conference. The El was across the street, and loud.
Very clean. Staff was very efficient. Room recently remodeled - very nice. Free parking was a nice perk. Located close to McCormick Place where I attended an event.
Rooms were huge. Not one, but two bars attached to the hotel. Staff was quite friendly. Security guard posted in lobby. Complimentary parking offered with room. Location is not very good. Looks nicer online than it actually is. Not thoroughly clean.
Friendly people. Got there very early and they put me in a room without a problem. Never happened to me before.
It is easy to get out of town from that location if you are heading south. The place is, perhaps, a half a step up from a poorly run motel. Some staff were a bit surly. Very slow elevators. Hallways and room smelled like a poorly working air conditioner. Limited on-site dining.
Room was clean for the most part but we only stayed 1 night so I cannot evaluate housekeeping, etc. Noise level -- could hear screaming baby and couple fighting at 2:00 a.m. In addition, the television didn't work.
Free parking, huge bathtub, large room. No breakfast, had a bathroom light not working.
Free parking Noise
We stayed for 5 days while the Nation Art Education Association conference was underway at the McCormick Center. We chose this hotel because it appeared to be a very short cab ride to the convention. The way the roads are (and due to the size of the convention center), it cost the same to get to the convention as it did to go all the way north into downtown. Even though the convention center is only about 1 mile away, we didn't feel safe walking the distance (it is creepily "warehousey" in this area). The worst issue was that every day we were there, we were unable to have a hot shower. The front desk claimed that it was due to the volume of guests showering at the same time, however we tried different times of the day to no avail. If you are looking for an affordable option with easy access to McCormick, I'd suggest looking elsewhere.
