spacious room, nice bed and furnishings, very helpful front desk, unbelievably convenient location to downtown attractions and fine dining. dripping bathroom faucet, ac that could not be controlled by thermostat. was offered alternative room that was smaller, much noisier, and also had malfunctioning ac. shower temp was controlled only with difficulty and wasted much water to get warm.
The location was excellent old, outdated, still had analog tv's
no bugs in the room -Airport shuttle service they provide made me wait for an hour -No internet in the rooms, when ask for help they dont solve it they say 'Everybody has the same issue' -No breakfast even if you pay for 150 per night -No check in before 3pm, but need to checkout before 12am -My room was so cold I asked them to fix it, they told me that they dont have a heater they can only do turning of the ac? Funny right?
Bathroom shower was a handicap roll in shower. When you used the shower the bathroom floor flooded soaking the cloths I fooli left on the floor
I did like the location and The cafe staff are the most friendly. Matthew did make me feel very welcomed and had a super attitude with me and all the other customers seemed satisfied. I have stayed here twice this year and the bathroom shower heads are very low quality no pressure!
I like the outside pool and customer service was great N/a
I didn't know what the drive from Austin to El Paso would be like. Spoiler alert: it was brutal! I was happy to find this hotel right off the highway and walking distance to some of the best bars in El Paso. After nearly 10 hours of traveling, I slept so hard in the bed. I flipped through the many cable channels and fell asleep to Trump doing dumbass things. The area looks shady, but it was not! I was afraid to leave things exposed in my car ( I was moving my life to California) and I parked far away from any camera and the hotel entrance in their lot, but my car was safe and nothing happened.
The Gardner Hotel is like stepping back, quite a ways back into the past. The lobby looks exactly like I would imagine it did in the 30s/40s, complete with the phone switchboard and old telephone stand. Perfect for someone traveling by themselves looking for a clean, comfortable room. The staff at the hotel could not have been more friendly and helpful! The only 'downside' to the hotel is that the building it occupies is also home to 3 bars, all directly under most of the rooms. If you are staying there over the weekend, you might consider ear plugs if you wish to fall asleep before 3 am.
Great customer service! Front attendent was friendly and helpful when asked about the area. Room was very clean and simple to meet all your daily needs.
