staff was awsome, every minute very helpful: from the front desk, resturant, and maids having the room look like the first day.
Location, friendly staff
This hotel was gorgeous! It was like staying in a 5 star hotel for the price of a motel6. I highly recommend hotel morales and am looking forward to staying here again. It is just a few blocks away from the cathedrals, theatre and restaurants so it was very convenient to drop by the hotel throughout the day. We took advantage of all the amenities- the gym, rooftop pool, pool table, room service and restaurant. I loved staying here!
Everything was good except that we found a small cockroach in the floor (that tells me there were more), also the beds are not comfortable to sleep, great location and very beautiful inside.
The hotel was clean and had all the basic ammenities you need. Wifi, air conditioning, clean rooms and bathrooms. The hotel is located in the heart of the City so this is perfect for someone who wants to walk around and go to museums etc. Overall a great experience for the money.
Great location. Reception staff was good but food staff was inattentive.
Staff was very helpful with offering tours & explaining different attractions to go see in the city. Excellent service! It is was centrally located & within walking distance from many historical attractions. There was a fowl smell at times that would come from the toilet...didn't mentioned it to staff, since I was not in the room a lot, only to sleep. All other aspects of the hotel were nice!
Beautiful building within easy walking distance to a number of a number of historic sites and plazas. Very charming. Would stay again.
Very centric and helpful staff my room had a door with a glass panel above it. I whish there was a way to block off the light from the atrium.
I loved the decor and view and available parking The front desk girls attitude and the hair from previous guest all over the bed it was disgusting we called for them to clean up the guy who came up real nice but no further apology nothing and our bed was full of it everywhere made me think dis they even clean anything else ruined the experience
Comfortable room The hotel did not provide currency exchange services
This is a great place that is always very busy for a reason. Great breakfast buffet, friendly staff, and a nice courtesy lounge with free snacks and drinks for when you are in a rush and need something on the way out..or just want to enjoy a beer before heading to your room/pool. I'm not sure what happened with my room this time, but the pillows were completely awful. I was in a room with 2 double beds and all of them were no good. Later in the week when I moved rooms to a king, they were much better which improved the overall quality of the comfort.
The room was very clean. The bed was comfortable. The shower great. Overall great room. The staff at the front desk were awesome and so were the men who took care of the cars. I would not call them valets because they seemed to do a lot of different things, but they were awesome. There is a disco somewhere near and it was a little noisy. Not so bad but if I would have ear plugs it would have been better.
Room was spacious and well appointed. Not in city center and unbearably noisy.
Staff was pleasant, wifi and parking free. Noise level is quite high even though rooms are nice and clean.
Staff is super friendly and will try their best to please you. grsuoer nice and happy staff. breakfast not included, Internet barely works, cable doesn't work most of time, AC wasn't working well.
The rooms were nice and clean, just as the photos show. We went to the restaurant for dinner, and that was really, really good with a wide variety of Mexican dishes. The breakfast buffet was good, too, with hot and cold items. The prices for both of those were great. Dinner for 20 people was 2429 pesos, or about $130; breakfast for 20 was 1829 pesos or $100. It wasn't far to walk to the cathedral area and lots of great sites. I didn't go out walking at night, but during the day it seemed to be a safe neighborhood. It was nice, too, that they had a computer down in the lobby that anyone could use. The staff was friendly at first, but seemed to grow less so as I had more requests/needs. We had a large group, though, so as the coordinator, it wasn't really a lot to ask for the number of people we had (I wasn't just being high maintenance). Part of the issue may have been that their English wasn't so good and my Spanish isn't so good. Whatever it was, it wasn't the best experience of service. Also, the street seemed noisy at night, but as we went to other towns, by comparison, it wasn't. Mexico is just kind of a noisy place.
The location was amazing, close to all the main places for my visit The room was kind of small
city center location, englisg speaking staff, price, cleaniness, response of staff, facilities, room service, everything were fantastic. I would like to stay here whenever I visit Guadalajara. If a comlimantery breakfast is included in tarrif it would be more attractive to stay in the hotel
Elegant and pleasant hotel, clean. Bed a little hard and no blanket, fairly long walk to historical center.
just perfect for proximity to cultural events especially at the Teatro Degollado
1. the fact that it is perfectly situated next to everything worth seeing in Guadalajara. 2. room was clean, whole Hotel was clean and well kept, Staff is helpful, responsible, 3. there is a small balcony in some rooms, in my case it had a view of a XVI C church, 4. Has a sight-seeing roof that is worth going up to, 5. Guests were all very professional and respectful people 1. Sockets are old and if you need to plug in a laptop, you must ask for an adaptar at the front desk. 2. Despite the fact that they put a thick carpet in the halls, if a guest is talking as he or she walks down the hall you can hear averything, it also goes the other way aroung, you can hear what people are saying in their rooms as you walk down the hall. The TV is too small
I truly enjoyed my stay at Hotel de Mendoza I will recommend this hotel to friends and family.
Service was very good. Quiet rooms. Centrally located. Restaurant in the hotel. Hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, clean. Would have liked a more economical price.
The convenience of being in the centre of the old city. Easy of driving to it and parking on site.
The staff, in the confort. The bathroom is to old
Staff very courteous, wonderful service with restaurant, lovely design and of course, Location, Location, Location The shower curtain did not extend to the bottom on the shower, hence water leaked out.
The location for the old city is fantastic, you have nearly 10 historic squares pretty much on your doorstep with all the tourist attractions in walking distance. And great value!
Good clean hotel in city centre at reasonable price. Elevator a bit dated. No view room the room (Wall opposite window).
A very clean hotel with very comfortable beds and beautiful bed linens. The Staff were very efficient and our beds were turned down every evening with slippers, chocolates and music on the TV. We are used to having free internet access in our hotel rooms in Canada and the U.S. The Fiesta Americana charges for internet access.
Awesome service. The concierges we interacted with are all lovely people. The bar was great, the al pastor tacos were amazing. The room was super clean and comfortable. The area where the hotel is located is full of nice bars and restaurants. There's a mini mall next to it with a movie theater as well. The breakfast and dinner dishes we tried were delicious. The internet speed was very decent.
Prety Close from Expo show room. Curtain of the tub, smells bad. The smell of the restarurant get into the room
The staff was very helpful and polite. The staff helped us get a taxi and translated for us. The location could have been better
Good value for the price, very clean room. Service was excellent at the hotel's restaurant. The bathroom is outdated, needs some upgrading.
Very pleased with the staff and the service. The hotel is located in the center of the city so it is within a few blocks of all the major turistic locations in the downtown area. The rooms are clean and quiet, that makes your stay more pleasant.
We didnt get free breakfast at this time But we did get free snacks and drink from the room refri
The room was clean and the staff was very nice. Unfortunately for us, the bed was not that comfortable, the Internet spotty and the air conditioner, while working full time, almost cooled the room. The following week we came back to Guadalajara and stayed one block east at the Best Western that had a similar room but with good air conditioning, Internet and bed for $40 USD less.
Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean. Restaraunt food was good and reasonably priced. Located within walking distance to many things.
The Bedrooms and bathrooms are nicely decorated and very clean. The staff were all very frinedly and very helpful. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel if you are going to Guadalajara. It is only blocks to the Historic town square and there are lots of restaraunts and stores within walking distance. We stay here every time we visit Guadalajara and LOVE it every time.
Great location, within walking distance to most historical sites and attractions. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and quite helpful with directions and recommendations. Room was nice, bed was comfortable and clean, however the dining chairs and table did not fit well in the small space and otherwise should have been left out. There was plenty of seating with the small sofa and coffee table. Bathroom was in need of some renovation and repairs, but was sufficient. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the hotel, food was fresh and delicious. I would definitely come back.
The hotel is in only a block away from the historical center of the city. There are a ton of things to do/see within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel is very comfortable and the staff attentive. The rooms are spacious and very clean. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
This hotel offers the best for business travelers, it has online access, the receptionist all speak good english and are very helpful ! I will recommend and continue to stay
We stayed for one night for about $. It is NOT near the airport (the Hampton Inn is MUCH closer) and the free shuttle was not available for a 7am flight nor an 8pm arrival ... so add $ to the cost of the stay for taxis. All this said, it is a nice hotel in a nice location ... much better than I expected for a Holiday Inn. The room was large and the bed VERY comfortable. Free Internet was nice. The restaurant had good food at reasonable prices and we ate on the balcony overlooking the street. The wait staff was very attentive (we were the only one there at the time)
Just spent 4 nights at this historic hotel. Close to many historic locations and activities. Service is great with very friendly Engish Speaking employees. Took sevearl side trips to great places recommended by staff. Our suite was clean and well equipped. Would definitely stay again.
Upon arrival bellhops were very courteous and helpful. Front desk was very efficient and our check in fast. Rooms were clean and cleaning and room service was very good. Check out was very efficient and hotel furnished transportation to airport. Now, at every level, bellhops, front desk, cleaning, restaurant someone spoke english making it very easy to communicate. All directions, menus, etc. were written in both Spanish and English. Location of hotel was great, near the Cathedral, and many sights. In Historic District. I would highly recommend to anyone going to Guadalajara to stay at the Hoiday Inn Downtown.
great location. Excellent value for money. Minor imperfections (loud air cond, sink missing a stopper)
In the heart of the historic center making everything walking distance to the hotel. The hotel could definitely invest in some new towels! They were shearing and falling apart.
The location was excellent - close to central plazas and right on Juarez Ave. The room was clean and comfortable. The price was very reasonable. The staff at reception could have been a little friendlier. The fitness center was hot (not well ventilated) and some of the machines didn't function well.
The rooms were very roomy, comfortable and clean. The pool was dirty, my legs kept feeling other people's hair and the they had an exposed pool vacuum. We also requested hypoallergenic pillows at 10pm and did not receive them until after 10:30 and multiple calls to front desk. The food at the restaurant was edible but flavorless and expensive. While the waiters were very attentive, the food was bland, different temperatures and unimpressive. We ate there based on convenience for our 1 year old but would have rather had dinner somewhere local.
The Quinta Real in Guadalajara is a pristine property with excellent service. Greater than 5 stars. The property has an old-world Mexican 'hacienda' feel with the corresponding decor. The suite was absolutely stunning with many extra amenities. The Hermes bathroom soap and shampoo were especially nice. The Quinta Real makes one feel like a first class passenger in every way imaginable. I travel professionaly and stay in more than 150 hotel rooms per year. This one rates as one of the best in the world.
reservations not there when we arrived,no longer a ''grand class'' hotel.looked down on us because our rate was way lower than their stated rate.front desk person started trashing our home state of calif. on how it was bad to live there.
is a great place to stay for couples of family's its marvalous atmoshere and wonderful food will blow your mind away.
Absolutely incredible people took care of my family during a very trying time. Everyone was polite and friendly and concerned and quick to respond. From the doormen to the managers, it was a great stay!
If you like to stay in hotels with a local flavor, this is one for you. I've stayed in many different Quinta Real locations throughout Mexico and this one is the original. The rooms can't be beat as they are all suites with a lot of privacy. The dining atmosphere is beautiful and relaxing but the hotel and food is pricey. If money isn't a factor, I highly recommend this hotel.
Staff not knowledgeable about tours available. No maps on hand to assist in sightseeing. Car rental did not show up, or even call.
The hotel provides excellent service and is located in a wonderful area of Guadalajara. If you don't mind staying away from all the touristy attractions this place is perfect. I always stay here while visiting family. My grandmother and mother refuse to stay anywhere else in Guadalajara.
Loved the location. Beautiful building. Very helpful staff. Unusual, interesting room. The bedspreads were a little worn and the furniture in the room was a little worn out too.
beautiful historic location, very polite staff. many thing to see and do within walking distance. tv too small. furniture somewhat worn.
Horrible bed shits and pillows
Overall very comfortable, helpful, friendly staff.
Great price and located by major avenue. Staff is very friendly Kids running up and down the hallway late at night, after 10 PM.
Great price for good service and amenities Pool - too much chlorine. It was unbearable and got my kids sick
We had a pleasent stay. The rooms were big and very clean, not noisy, the staff was friendly and always willing to help.
I select the Portobelo Hotel every time I travel to Guadalajara. I have stayed there on 4 different occasions, and I had a very good experience every single time.
I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel! The room was very modern in design. The bed was very comfortable with nice sheets. Little touches, like all the lighting being controllable from the bed were much appreciated. The staff were very nice and I really liked the location as it was central to a lot of attractions. Without thinking I would stay there again. I wish the restaurant on the ground floor offered better meal options.
