really nice hotel, lovely pool area, nice room and great choice for breakfast
We stayed in a family room at the Kingsmill for 1 night in July with our 4-year old and mother-in-law. It was the perfect size with a large bed and 2 bunk beds. Bathroom also had a shower and bathtub, great for the little ones. Staff was super friendly and breakfast delicious. Great choice!
very friendly staff and excellent value for money. well situated for exploring inverness amd surounding area nothing
I liked the comfort of the rooms and the friendliness of the staff. I would have liked a bit more variety cfor the dinner menu
The staff were very friendly and informative and the food was well prepared and presented
access to spa / pool was good.food excellent jacuzzi bath in deluxe suite not available!
You have to pay for Internet......
The location of the hotel is excellent, near the city but in a quiet setting with plenty of parking. The breakfast buffet wonderful although the food could have been hotter. The rooms need to be updated.
Size of the bedroom and comfortable bed Service in the restaurant was a little slow
leisure facilities. room was gorgeous, loved terrace and french doors, felt very high quality, good breakfast and good times for food and check out
Very attentive staff, friendly. The room I was in was had the central heating vents outside my window - very noisy, good not leave the window open, ruined the view and spoiled my comfort. I will recommend but I personally would need a different room before agreeing to stay again.
High standard of cleanliness, enthusiasm of staff, quick restaurant service, convenient location.
Nothing really very basic room not welcoming laminate floor made it cold. Last occupier left shower jel hanging in bathroom shower and was still there when we arrived shower room very tired could have done with refurb. as above
Quality hotel at an affordable price! None.
Staff was friendly and very accommodating. The breakfast was very good There was no car park, so when arriving we had to carry bags 4 blocks. The reception is part of the bar so you are greeted with loud throbbing music. The hot water in the shower varied so you had to be ready to move when the blast of pure hot water came through
The free intent was the only plus. Oh, and the cute little shampoo and soap that is provided. The location was awful. There's a "gentleman's club" three doors down and in the evening the hotel bar was full of creepy men waiting for the club to open. The bar plays club music at night and you could hear and feel it in our first floor room. There were drunk people outside in the early morning yelling and screaming and could be heard at all hours. The room was sparse with a worn out single couch and bedding that was flat with no cushion. The bed was low and kind of annoying to get in and out of. There were broken parts of the tempered glass bathroom walls and the shower was leaky so the water pressure was low. There was no carpet in the room but the carpet in the hall and stairway smelled awful like smoke and who knows what else. The lounge downstairs looked like a strip club atmosphere, too, and the drinks were way over priced. Breakfast was expensive, too so we just walked down the street to get a good breakfast at Rendezvous Cafe for a fraction of what the hotel was charging. This was our last leg in our trip and we were too tired to try and get a room somewhere else, abs since we didn't spend much time in the room anyway we just stayed. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.
Location perfect for us as we had no car so shopping was so easy. The fact that there was no real acknowledgement of the extreme inconvenience of having no water from late evening to breakfast time. We could have made a big fuss but we are not that type, but if I had handled that situation I would have handled it so differently.
Central location. Staff not aware of wifi charges. No water at night or morning of our stay.
polite knowlegdeable staff in hotel
Location & cleanliness Poor reception staff on arrival
I liked the central location easy to find from train station very smart inside Food prices way over the top £10 for a £5 breakfast
Check in process, excellent staff on Sunday night. Room was spotless, comfortable bed and good working area.
Had disabled access room - huge!
the location was perfect for our needs. The staff in general were very attentive and friendly. Quality of the breakfast was great although service appeared disorganised and slow
right in the centre of the town with a great position on the river. staff all very friendly. room a bit dated
we were put up in a room away up a windy stairs felt a bit like a little guest house the bit we were put in its a seperate building to the hotel and had to come out to get back in
1. Staff, on the whole, tried thier best and were polite and friendly. 2. The daily room cleaning and replenishment of towels, coffee etc was excellent. 3. Car parking facilities were very good. 4. Views from the rooms at the front of the hotel were very pleasant. 1. Some room furnishings were in a poor state of repair (suitcase stand with leg broken & worn clothes-hanger holders in wardrobe - clothes kept falling.) 2. No view from windows other than in rooms at front of hotel. 3. Occasional door slamming and some noise late at night and very early in morning (but this is the fault of some guests and not the staff.)
The room was really big, excellent en-suite facilities and breakfast was excellent Cleaning standards were not good, dust lying on most surfaces
It is in a nice area & very handy handy for sightseeing & going shopping we booked online months ago and paid £20.00 more then our friends with us who just booked a few weeks before our stay, & we didnt specify any special room. We have been staying in your hotel for breaks for several years & have always had a good deal before
Our room had a great view of the river, lots of light, and a view of the castle/museum. The bed was comfortable and large. For some reason a room had not been assigned for us, although reception was able to see our reservation in their system. When she assigned a room, she upgraded us to a river view to make up for the inconvenience. The bathroom was a bit dark, and the modern, half glass screen inadequate for the design. Had I not been very careful, I would have drenched the floor by a normal shower.
River view was nice. Rooms were spacious Lighting was poor, had to open drapes to get any light in the room. They charged for wi-fi. Service in the attached restaurant (Nicky Tams) was poor.
Good all round - location,Staff,Comfort, etc. but:- -:Somewhat overpriced
Good location, views, car parking Breakfast should not be an 'add-on' Room should not be up a narrow stair with access to the building by going out of the hotel! Dated hotel in need of major refurbishment!!
The staff were lovely. Especially Alex...he is a mgr.. in training and bent over backwards to please. He was everywhere doing a variety of things...very impressive! Our room was newly refurbished but a tad small with no view. However, very clean and tidy
Nice people, good breakfast Quite a walk to the city center
Lovely room, excellent breakfast, friendly host and gorgeous dog!
It was very comfortable and I felt very welcomed in a intimate atmosphere.
very relaxedand friendly
Just got back from a 2 nights staying and it was awesome. Alison, the lady running the B&B, was very kind, helpful and considerated. The room was spacious , comfortable, clean and very well decorated. Easy walk into town along the river ( hostel is only 15 minutes walking to the centre of the city). Breakfast was lovely. This B&B will make your travel to the Highlands unforgettable! We will be repeating soon for sure. Absolutely nothing to complain, place is perfect!
Lovely bright clean and comfotable room. Very pleased with our choice. Breakfast very good - plenty of choice and delicious wholegrain toast.
Comfortable, clean room.
Comfortable spacey stylish rooms with a cozy feeling. A perfect stay
Close to the river and the town. Comfortable and cosy room.
Very peaceful location. Comfortable bed. Lovely dining room with tasty food. Staff friendly and pleasant. Bedroom was cold on arrival but did heat up quickly. Bathroom large and very cold - heating in bathroom inadequate. Did expect a few more luxuries in room for a 4* hotel e.g. robes and slippers.
The attitude of the staff; helpful, friendly, genuine. Quality of the food. The breakfast was superb.
comfy bed, courtesy water, whisky & chocs bathroom cold, nowhere to use phone charger, charged extra to use credit card, felt we had been put in attic room as not paying full rate and hotel was quiet
The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The hotel was very clean and very tidy Nothing
Very fine hotel with style.
the room and facilities in the room were 1st class the highland breakfast in the morning was pretty average
Everything was better than expected except the Head Waiter. Had to complain about the "Head Waiter", and I use that term loosely to describe him.
Hotel location, staff professionalism and politeness. NA
The standard of service was excellent, the staff were genuinely helpful and interested in us during our stay.
We were working at a fair in the evening & during the next day so it wasn't a holiday! However during leisure time we relaxed immediately. The cuisine was fantastic & the staff friendly helpful & courteous It wasn't longer!
Excellent location very central, good facilities and lovely view.
car parking was handy never had to wait for a space. Distance from hotel for river walks. Handyness to restaurants. Thin walls between bedrooms. When the toilet was flushed next door it could be heard filling up again as if it was in our own room.
Good location, easy to get around on foot to walk along river, various attractions and shops. Nice areas of hotel to relax in. Did not eat in as it was somewhat pricey. Noisy, bathroom not very clean, lovely view of garbage bins....was disappointing. Pool closed at 730 pm Mattresses were very uncomfortable - should have been replaced 10 years ago. Difficult to regulate heat.
Satff went out of their way to help when booking was not received.
I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights,When i arrived i booked in(earlier than expected as room was ready).I was given complimentey upgrade to the new Privilege Room! Wow such a lovely room.Would definitely recommend this room for couples. Also the young gentelman at the reception gave me an ice bucket and 2 chanpagne glasses for free to take to my room.Staff very nice.Great weekend for all. None!
Nice room, very central A little too expensive for Inverness
we stay at the Ramada Inverness alot the staf are the best
The room was well priced and in an ideal location for the shops, places to eat etc. The hotel also provides parking. I have previously booked through booking .com and taken the room with the best price. The room on my last visit was fantastic. On this recent visit I was very disappointed with room. It was old and the wall was damp with considerable condensation. The double bed had only two pillows and the duvet was thin. In addition to this we had a dreadful time trying to turn off the shower, which was cold and had poor pressure. These things didnt entirely spoil our trip but I was disappointed as we were away for a relaxing evening, thinking we would enjoy a lovely room but unfortunately that was not the case. I did report these things to the reception who said they would log these matters. I have recommended this hotel, this visit altered my view.
close to town centre
The reception staff were excellent, very helpfull, very friendly. nice place to stay.
Our two day stay to attend a family funeral was convenient for our purposes. The breakfast was very good. We found the shower in our room difficult to control the temperature.
It was welcoming, with atmosphere from the bar and eating areas as you enter. Room was good, plenty good pressure hot water. Nothing
the breakfast was excellent and the staff were very nice friendly and helpfull on all aspects our bathroom ceiling above bath was covered in mould and silicone seal around bath was black with mould the room though was very clean and public areas of hotel were spotless
handy for christmas shopping - well situated not too far from city centre would probably stay again too noisy - rooms not well sound proofed could benefit from better refreshments provided ie water
Although very busy the staff were more than helpful
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful and the whole reception area I felt was bright and welcoming. The room was a good size, and the bed was huge as it was 2 single beds zipped together - fantastic. Had a cot in the room and there wasnt really room for it (it was jammed up between the side of the bed and the window) but was a good size room if it hadnt been there. Room and bathroom were clean. Decor not the most modern I have ever seen, but it was far from offensive. All in all - I would stay there again. Breakfast quite expensive at £12.95 a head, but there was a good choice and it was a buffet so you could eat as much as you wanted. The breakfast staff were not the happiest looking bunch (but it was a sunday morning!), but they did their job fine. Other than that, no complaints at all.
very friendly helpful receptionist good leisure facilies
Good location The room was OK. But more attention to the fittings ie some of the drawer handles were missing so new handles on drawers to be replaced ! And loose taps to be fixed would make all the difference to fist impressions. The windows also to be able to close properly, as opposed to be like they are slightly open (especially in winter months when it's cold) All in all the hotel was pleasant enough.
the room was great more than we expected
Convenient location both for town and visits to surrounding countryside. Prices in in-house restaurant too high - much higher than some very good restaurants in town.
The pool was nice and clean
Comfortable cosy atmosphere and relaxiing location. Great service - patricularly for baby.
The history of the facility
Exceptionally friendly and professional staff; stunning waterside location; fantastic wine list; spacious, well-appointed room. No
atmosphere excellent. food excellent. staff friendly and helpful. overall excellent. location scenery excellent no guinness on tap :-)
The hotel has a magical appearance that is not let down by the experience. We enjoyed the food and the view over the lake from the dining room.
Very luxurious, open fires-perfect for winter weather, friendly and helpful staff, very clean and comfortable room.
The setting, the hotel itself and the staff. The warm atmosphere of the drawing room.
The ambiance of the whole place was special.
Nice and quiet neighbourhood with beautiful views and great location. Breakfast: from a hotel like this you expect a better quality of food. Our Scottish breakfast was served swimming in oil.
Our party enjoyed a comfortable stay and an excellent breakfast.
Offered single accommodation at a reasonable price. Comfortable lounge bar serving good quality simple light meals. Coffee rather weak and luke warm at breakfast and poor quality bread for toast.
Central location and value for money.
It is in a great location and the staff were very helpful You could hear every step and door close on the the floor. There was no room darkening shade on the window, so light streamed in at 6 A.M.
The bar was very comfortable, hotel has a traditional charm Nothing comes to mind
Convenience - location to the city centre The breakfast room was cold, probably the air con but when it is freezing outside a warm breakfast room would have been more comfortable
Standard of the eveing meals and breakfast Lift out of order
Breakfast was excellent, hotel was stunning and scenic location. shower left alot to be desired, no cable tv as adverised and parking was a nightmare.
Room was efficiently set up. Bath was up to date. Public areas lacked warmth. Breakfast was efficient but not as pleasant as some of the competition.
very relaxing the heating in the room could be better
Located half a block from Rocpool's Rendez-Vous restaurant, where we had reservations. The breakfast! Also, compared to other hotels, price asked is way too high for what we get. No parking space provided closeby to unload suitcases from car.
Excellent in every way.Staff particularly skillful and welcoming. No All was fine - well run establishment
Beautiful luxury with classic flavor, Friendly staff, Historically significant with wide international appeal and serene feeling.
Food and service from staff very good. Very friendly and accommodating. A very historical building and great location for visiting Culloden battlefield and surrounding area. The only criticism is the decor, needs all round updating to become a luxury hotel and some people might not be happy with the limited facilities.
the staff were very welcoming and interesting to talk to. They were very interesting and went out of their way to help.
Wonderful service and a free upgrade. Enormous room and a bath/jacuzzi the size of a small car.
I really enjoyed my night at the culloden house. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the history of the hotel too as Bonnie Prince charlie slept there the night before the battle of culloden.
beautiful setting. Nice room It appeared we arrived the day after a major event and the hotel had only a minimal staff. The service was that expected of a two star hotel. On the next day, the service was much improved and was up to, what I would hope would be their normal level.
Although classed as a highly rated B&B Dunhallin House can give many a 3* / 4* hotel a run for their money in terms of bedroom quality, breakfast and welcome!
Everything was superb. Best B&B in UK!
Dunhallin House was fantastic, the room was large, modern and very comfortable. The breaksfast was excellent and the host was very charming and very helpful. Not applicable
The room was great, cosy, clean and well decorated. The owners are lovely and always eager to help. Breakfast was the best. We felt like home trully. The perfect place to stay when visiting Scotland
What a wonderful place to stay. Great room and breakfast - nothing was too much hassle!! Would recommend for anyone to stay at while in Inverness.
Fantastic spacious comfortable room, delicious cooked breakfast, very friendly and welcoming, lovely and quiet. Leaving!
We were only there one night. I wanted a hotel as we wereb working late and needed somewhere we could eat on the premises. This is a guest house not a hotel as I was told. It is lovely however and the people who own/run it are superb. It was spotless and very comfortable
Margaret made my wife and me very welcome on arrival. Our room was all we could have asked for - clean, comfortable and well equipped - and breakfast was excellent. Can't fault it for value. Just a pity we were only there for one night...
Friendly people. Facilities as expected. Priced appropriately. Hint about how to turn on the shower added to the room info would be useful.
highly recommend it very clean friendly nice big rooms found the packed lunch service they did very good when traveling away for the day would stay again margaret and sandy couldn't do enough to make your stay
The warm friendly atmosphere, helpful staff and wonderful rooms made this a night to remember. It wasn't long enough!
excellent value and great variety at breakfast.
The central location Standard rooms were very average. Got a good price but would have been unimpressed if I'd had to pay full price. Also..........£9.50 for breakfast????? Come on!
Proximity to train station and highway, lots of good bars and restaurants around. Cool looking Victorian hotel. Wi-fi was non-existent - which was bizarre given they had routers everywhere. Very unhelpful staff.
The shower did not have any hot water, and even though the website says parking is provided, in reality, the hotel has 4 spaces out front that are first come first serve, and the rest of the guests must pay for public parking.
The entrance and common areas were beautiful, room was delightful, spacious and clean. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant and the food was perfect! Great location. Two blocks from everything important. Make sure you visit Hootinanny's a couple blocks away. They had amazing live music for tourists and locals alike. The hotel is located practically at the train station. There was limited parking and constant traffic (vehicle and pedestrians).
My room was situated at the back of the hotel, as it was warm the window was open. There were extractor fans running, and in the morning all I could smell in my room was cooking smells, I found it quite off putting.
nice room and vert central reception not very friendly
We had a lovely stay. Our room was very pretty, comfortable and clean. The location cannot be beat. The breakfast included was not very good. Also, pur booking includes complementary cocktails upon arrival but all we received was a buy one get one 50% off coupon. Not quite the same deal there.
NOTHING NOTHING TO EAT NO CRISPS AFTER A LONG JOURNEY A COFFEE WITH A GRUDGE THE ONLY GOOD THING WAS THE BEDROOM MY SISTERS SINGLE BEDBROOM WAS A DISGRACE NO CARPETS ON FLOOR OF HALL
stayed here 1 night, was very pleased with size of room, friendlystaff, didnt eat there.. good value.
Proximity to train station and city centre Wifi weak, essentially unusable in the room. Good signal in lobby but inconvient to go there just for wifi.
The hotel was warm, friendly and well located for exploring the city and countryside. The pool was lovely, very clean and large enough for a good swim. Great rooms, with plenty of storage space and well decorated. There was a turkey and tinsel party there which took over the lounge area so a drink downstairs was impossible.
Location in Inverness
The room was spacious and clean. Staff was friendly. Good location. We booked a double room overlooking the river, but it was actually facing the other side.
Very good Spa facilities Dining room is geared to coach tours, would be better for the longer term residents if they were in a separate area
excellent location and lovely room
Very nice room and spa facilities
The location and room size. Dreadful food, the previous reviews were right!
The food was good and resoabley priced location ideal spa facility an added bonus which we used,m had a great time some of the staff could get some training in communication skills with their guests
Position plus the general cleanliness of both the bedrooms and the presentation of puclic rooms The evening meal was dreadfull. The menu was very basic but the quality of food was probably the worst I have ever experienced in an hotel. I took one mouthful of the main course and left the restaurant.
Nothing. Not enough water for bath for three people. Very small room
Excellent breakfast. Good service, ver y nice personel. The extra chage for using creditcard for paying should be written on your booking receipt.
Very friendly staff. Nice living-room. Ross, the owner is very friendly and he changed the breakfast hours so that all the marathoners staying at the gust house could have breakfast before the race.
Good location & very easy to find. friendly host.
The hotel manager was ever friendly and ensured that my breakfast orders were carried out. One thing is that it was too dark to walk to the hotel as the road in front of the hotel was not well lighted, so I had to come to the hotel before sunset.
Staff were very friendly, breakfast served was good. Room was clean. The shower room at the swimming pool didnt reflect the standards and service provided at the hotel. It was old and looked like it needs a renovation.
comfortable and friendly staff
central location and exactly what we were looking for, it was right for the reason we were in Inverness rooms were nice, well laid out and comfortable, breakfast was excellent, plenty to choose from
Swimming and Spa Pool and Hotel room No Subtitles on TV because we are deaf.
lucy in the bar was very nice and friendly even at the breakfast area she was in early nd always smilling and so was the rest of the staff
Walking distance to city centre, lovely warm pool.
the food The rooms could do with modernizing and our room was by the kitchen extractor fan which came on sometimes as early as 6.30am
friendly staff,hearty breakfast,good location
Sauna, Steam room, breakfast A little out of the main town
Craigmonie Hotel is the best hotel I have been to. The staff is fantastic, the restaurante is soperb and the facilities provide you with everything you need and more. Breakfast is also perfect! Its a fantastic deal and very cheap for the quality and in some aspects excellence that the Hotel offers. In particular want to thank the staff that was magnific but you cant expect less from scotish people! I recommend the hotel without any reserves. Nothing at all.
Staff extremely friendly and made us feel like Kings and queens. You certenly get the 5 star treatment at this hotel. The barman Andy can make any cocktail and you could sit and watch him do this all night long.
DVD selection for inroom use was great. Decor, in-room facilities and service were impressive. Very nice breakfast No obvious hotel reception so staff were sometimes hard to locate
I liked the quirkiness of the hotel - staff were excellent but it was a bit odd as there is no designated reception, you just have to hope there's staff about o help you - there were for us. Three main issues. Firstly the hotel smelled strange - perhaps of old tobacco? Secondly the bed frame sticks out and both my friend and I sustained bruises from it so be careful. Thirdly the bathroom door is glass and in our room was opposite the main room door so if you're on the loo and someone opens the door they can see straight in! Consider this when having your luggage delivered!
High quality, quiet and relaxing. Quality food and attentive but not obtrusive staff none
The staff was extremely attentive. Floors were very creaky and loud in the room.
Top class hotel
Food was amazing, rooms were excellent (perhaps a bit too hot), service and staff delivered a personal service. Porridge the best I have had for a good while! Lovely Rooms a bit too hot
the welcome and the staff's interest in our comfort our room was close to the heating boiler which resulted in a noise from the fan
The rooms are excellent, and the staff are very helpful, the whole experience was superb
Rooms were luxurious Staff werer friendly - nothing was too much trouble. The location was good Directions to hotel were misleading
The location is perfect, it is right off of River Ness. The views are spectacular and it is walking distance to restaurants and shopping. The staff goes out of their way to be helpful and make your stay enjoyable. The only thing that was an issue was the shower pressure was very light in our room.
The owners were great... It's located right on the Ness River on the walkway just across a small bridge from town center. We went to Gellions and listened to local music and had a great time. Parked on the street for free.
The food was fantastic, all staff were very attentative, Excellent all round Room was very cold on arrival took a long time too warm up. Sharing platter for 2 to start only 1 scallop and 3 prawns ??????? but plenty of everything else
The helpfulness of the staff Nothing
Living in Edinburgh we were in Inverness overnight to facilitate a visit to a Nursing Home in Dornoch. We wanted an overnight hotel, reasonably central, to facilitate bus journey to and from Dornoch. This worked out excellently and if we are doing the trip again we would want to stay at the Glenmoriston.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming. I had my room upgraded - though the building was a bit of warren so thought I was perhaps going to end up in another building, but it was just the extension of the orginal house. Standard of Decor within public areas was very good and of a standard you would expect Although in an upgraded room, I struggled to see what the "extras" where apart from bathrobes. I have stayed in other hotels in Inverness who have similar standards of room and are lower priced.
Excellent restaurants, comfortable accommodation.
As a single female traveller I felt welcome, safe and secure. Staff went out of their way to be helpful.
Quiet & friendly no 2 point plug for RSA appliances
Good quality room service food Would have liked to have had air conditioning - the room was a little stuffy even though the weather was not warm The windows opened - which is fine - but I cannot sleep with open windows.
I think is a good location, overlooking the river and close to the centre of Inverness. The double superior room was spacious and comfortable. Great breakfast in hotel. Good powerful shower I think the executive double rooms are too small, fortunately we were moved to a superior room since our television was broken. This was a much better room. Also is a shame that there is no swimming pool or beauty/spa area
Price, location Nothing
no signs on the eastbound side of the road so it took some time to find the hotel.
The room was very comfortable. The price of drinks at the bar were extortionate.
Courteous and well trained staff from top to bottom. Very efficiently run operation. Comfortable and well maintained rooms. Location on the edge of the city was delightfully quiet. Express by Holiday Inn Group really know how to run hotels and look after their customers.
The room was very comfortable and clean
we found the staff fantstic, couldnt be more helpful,
clean,comfortable room.Good service.Basic breakfast
friendly staff and privacy
location bed was soft for my preference
Made to feel very welcome on arrival, very pleasant cheerful staff.Accomodation brilliant , warm clean and roomy.Breakfast`s vwere very good and a nice relaxed clean area, best I`ve stayed at for a while, friendly staff a big bonus!!We will be back!
