The hotel and staff are about 3 months old. It is in the best location on the north coast and just past the Fisherman's Village which is within easy walking distance for shopping and a variety of restaurants. The north coast is breezy and threfore you have the wind to cool you when it is too hot. The hotel is superb, the staff incredible and they all come together to make you stay memorable. We look forward to returning again soon and highly recommend The Hansar for oouples who want to have a relaxing, quiet time in a beautiful setting. We don't feel this is a suitable place for families and children. Can't think of anything.
Service was excellent. There was nothing they could not do for us! Very relaxing and great location right next door to the Fisherman's Village but restful all the same. H Bistro is an undiscovered pearl with beautiful creative cuisine and stunning views of the ocean.
Friendly staff. Good food. Quiet & not too crowded. Close to Fisherman's village. Large room.
fabulous infinity pool, huge breakfast buffet, beautifull seaview from the terrace, the chef's special menu in the restaurant was absolutely delicious, modern design with thai style materials gives a very warm athmosphere, very nice and relaxed staff, location close to fisherman's village
Everything! Nice hotel, amazing pool, beautiful view. I would highly recommend this hotel! The service is great and breakfast is pretty good as well. H Bistro is excellent!
The staffs are friendly. Nothing.
Beautiful views, excellent staff and service
Very impressive looking. Very nice infinity pool. Beach is not so nice, ( nothing like Chaweng beach..) we stayed at infinity pool the whole time. Expensive drinks and food.
The tropical garden was excellent. The design and spa of the hotel was wonderful, just the prices a bit too high for Thailand. Staff was very kind. The area where it is situated is very urban and populated. I thought it would be in a more natural area, but after driving around the Koh Samui island we realized that all the island is like this, no desert beaches, so in fact this was also OK.
The relaxed atmosphere in the hotel and the excellent location on the beach and clost to the Bophut village. The Thai foor we ate at the hotel wasn't the best we ate in Thailand. Not bad but not what you would expect at this kind of hotel.
athmosphere of a spa-hotel (tropical garden all around the place with the aroma of frangipani and other tropical flowers, your room will look like a spa actually), decent beach (sometimes there is some silt on the surface of water), well enough chairs and towels both on the beach and at the pool, rich breakfast with both european and thai food expensive restaurant and bar (that's the only disadvantage!)
big swimming pools, lovely room none
Fantastic location and setting, beautiful garden. Walking distance to Fishermans Village (Restaurants and shopping) Although the beach is nice the water is not clear.
very nice place to stay for a long time and enjoy all their facilities and sandy beach.
The hotel has nice pool areas and garden, but a minus that you can not see the sea from the hotel. You have no view of the beach and sea until you are right in front of it. They have nice lobby area and nice clean hotel rooms. The beach restaurant has lovely view and is quite nice, but a bit dark. Also the buffets are more expensive than the other two hotels we stayed in. In the area there are many loose dogs and cats, and two small kittens seem to be living around the lobby/breakfast area and the first floor terraces. Some guest feed the cats during breakfast and the cats sleep on the chairs when there is no people there. This caused an allergy problem for my son who is very allergic to cats. The waitress tried to take the cats away, but they came right back. This problem made us change hotel, so not recommended for people with allergy.
I really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The location was perfect being literally on the beach & only a 5 minute walk to the fantastic "Fishermans Village". Felt very comfortable at the hotel & was great for my 18 month old baby. The only negative was the restaurants in the hotel were a little pricey but then there was no reason to eat there as so many other choices nearby.
Fantastic pool Staff were poorly trained. Breakfast room & breakfast was low quality.
great place to stay on the beach friendly staff.love the fact you have a beach basket for you towels etc
Very big main pool, small children pool. On the beach 2 more pools. Good restaurant on the beach. Check in took more than 1 hour. They said to us that we have to pay our stay complete before we can go to room. Finally I paid 4 nights at time and then 3 nights when we left. The staff was first really critical to us and after complaining they try to lick as much as possible. Not so nice :(
the service at our stay from welcome to leaving was second to none.
The rooms and the gardens are nice. The location of the hotel is handy for airport transfer as it is located close to Koh Samui airport. The hotel and the room were nice but the location was definitly not so charming. The swimming on this part of the beach is fairly limitated considering the amount of boats parked on the bay and the prices at the hotel bar and restaurant were higher than in other places we have visited for a poorer service.
The Peace! Very nice and romantic room! everything perfect! Highly recommended! From Spain
the staff were friendly and the location was good Too expensive
Rooms surrounded by garden, so it didn't feel too crowded. Nice rooms, well designed, good bathroom, friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant service and food were not very good.
The Peace Resort was a lovely place, right on lovely and quiet Bophut Beach, a 10 minute walk to Fisherman's Village. The Sea Wrap restaurant had great food and a large breakfast with egg station. The staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We stayed in a Superior Garden Bungalow for 5 days and it was worth every penny. Very private and set in a very well maintained garden area. The whole grounds were well kept and lovely. Easy access to taxis and bike rentals, yet well-secluded. Definitely recommend! My only issue was the shower, which was only handheld and came in hot or cold, nowhere in between. Being that it was hot and humid out, the cold was not freezing, but warm water would've been more ideal.
The best informal massages on the beach front. Very good value for money, with well experienced and profesional masseuse. Very relaxed atmosphere.
Alll the staff where friendly and the rooms where very nice. They often didnt sweep up most of the sand in our room. The Peace Resort Checked us into the Wrong room as we booked via pictures on Internet so when we arrived we new by the pictures it wasnt the one we booked. Once we explained they where happy to move us but it wasnt available to the next night.
We loved the layout of the resort, the facilities and most of all the best Pina Coladas!
It was our honeymoon and the resort staff went out of their way to keep us happy. The room was absolutely beautiful -- decorated head to toe with flowers!
very beautiful place and nice staff, clean beach but food pricy at the restaurant and outside restuarants are far. Be aware of insect bites because you will in the heart of a jungle. insects
Hotel is newly build and beautifully done. Rooms were cleaned and nicely equipped with all necessary amenities. Sea view from the pool is megnificent. Its a small hotel but good value for money. I would higlhy recommend this hotel for anyone who like to have a hotel just next to the beach which is isolated from main crowded area. Hotel is on not so popular beach which was an advantage for me but for most of the traveller who would like to be around the main beach would find it too far from the main action.
No bad surprises, you find exactly the same room you will find in any other hotel. Clean, simple, very comfortable, with terrace and smoking rooms. Sometimes you need this western trustability when traveling along Thailand. Is in the quiet side of the beach. Nothing important, only little things: Noise. The TV volume of the room next to me woke me up at 8 am. The echo in the sidewalk made it noisy. The price of the restaurant was very high. The swimming pool closed at 8 pm, very early when you are on holiday on paradise.
Good rooms, nice beachside
Excellent value, right on the beach
There was a big problem with humididy in the room.(probably due to the shower). The smell was unbearable. We asked to be moved. They moved us to the south aisle and we were so satisfied,we extended our stay 4 more days.
It was excellent, very friendly and helpful staff, highly recomended! Nice pool area, just next to the beach with free chairs on the beach. Will definitelly come again. A bit complicated to get to the downtown of Chaweng, but its a thing of negotiation with the taxi drivers. Or just rent a motorbike at the hotel - the best idea.
Hotel staff and the dinner Shuttle bus
I booked a family room, and my family liked it very much, especially my son, cos they have a play station in the room. Rooms are very clean with good facing. Location is good, pretty near to airport. Opposite the hotel there is a Family Mart (similar to 7 eleven) and some shops for booking of transport to get around. I would say it very well located & convenient for tourists.
The hotel lobby and the pool look very good. The hotel room is very Ibis-like; quite small but functional. The hotel is situated on the end of the beach. To go to the part where the restaurants and bars are you have to walk quite a distance.
I can see the sea from my room. The beach is only steps away. Nice and quiet place. Our dog can stay here. Staff is ok, not great.
Being close to everything... especially the beach, restaurants and shopping! Prices were very good and staff were very friendly and helped you with anything you needed or asked for. We were very lucky to be upgraded to the junior suite which was amazing... very clean and modern! Music in the morning was a little intense especially after a big night, would much prefer laid back music. Sometimes after the cleaners would clean the room they forgot on a few occasions to replace toilet paper and fresh shower towels... but apart from that they did an amazing job! Also didn't like the layout of the bathroom.. would've preferred that the shower and toilet have a step and be separated
The beach bar is really excellent, especially on beach party night each Wednesday. I enjoyed my stay at the Ark Bar Beach Resort and I would return. The bathrooms and shower facilty are very basic, however this can be overlooked as the bed was very comfortable and even though the bar is in very close proximity to the rooms it is suffieciently quiet to get to sleep.
The only plus - nice rooms. If you like jets flying over your head night and day, dozens of drunk misfits screaming and puking all over the place, no privacy and no peace and quiet whatsoever, filthy little pool, indifferent staff and the dirtiest part of the beach - come to Ark Bar.
The near to the beach and the city chaweng beach road was very good. The breakfast in the hotel was abundant - you can choose 5 things - for examle scrambled egg, cornflakes with milk, toast with butter and jam, fruits, pancake mit syrup... At the beach you have enough deck chairs and sunshades. The room was small with new furnitures and clean. You get towels for the beach. Room cleaning every day was very good. the staff did not speak enough good english. next to our room every 3 nights it was very loud - a party groop was there and made party every morning after coming back from disco at 5 am. After we called the reception it was quiet! At check the staff didn't wish us a nice trip/flight and didn't say goodby. :-(
good location No one bothered to tell us there will be construction work at 8 a.m. in the morning. When we complained about it the manager was very rude and did not care, and even claimed they "upgraded us" upon arrivel even though we got exactly the room we had reserved, and of course nobody mentioned any upgrade when we checked in.
-The staff are very friendly and always willing to help -food well priced for location and service. - well airconditioned rooms with plenty of bottled water -the bed are very hard -the breakfeast choice is very limited with breakfeast voucher. -public access to beach and bar passing though the middle of hotel and facilities made it very noisey especially late at night and early morning making it hard to sleep. -No clothes Iron available in rooms. - to many power blackouts rendering the rooms in darkness a backup generator would be good. - we would only recomend Ark Bar to younger travellers who want to party 24 hrs
I loved the location, nightlife, food, ambience, facilities and staff. Too many vendors on the beach...
Great location, nice staff, tasty breakfast Construction work on site didn't mind too much because we weren't in the room during the day and it finished at 6 in the evening.expensive restaurant sandwich, omlette, chips and 2 soft drinks cost us 15 euro.no free wi Fi
The comfort, the beach, the bar, the staff and the location
Very good location in Chaweng. Close to beach and night life. Modern rooms, clean and all necessary facilities there. Noisy people returning from the bars during the whole night. Hardly any view from rooms.
I thought the breakfast was awesome except that the toast was never cooked properly it being done on one side only although the waitress attended to it promptly. If the room I had was classed as Superior then I would have liked to have viewed a 'Standard'.
The ambience made for a relaxing and very pleasant stay, and the staff were extreemly helpful.
Great location and the hotel is very nice The AC wasn't working properly - and it was hot in the room
The garden (Square) pool is excellent, along with the location next to the beach. Lots of deck chairs. Could Improve their food quality compared to other hotels within the region.
Bedrooms are well appointed, spacious and comfortable. I was upgraded from a deluxe bedroom to a superior bedroom, however there was noise during the day due to refurbishment. Not really a complaint as refurbishment was clearly stated on website. Hotel will go from good to excellent when work is completed.
Great food, staff, facilities, landscaping, location. Couldn't have been happier here. Room could be a bit bigger, and didn't like only having one key.
The location was perfect, you are so close to all the shops, restaurant and bars yet still on the beach front and is as quiet or as loud as you want it to be. The (second) room we were in was lovely with a massive comfy bed. The high-touches this hotel has to offer are some of the best I have ever seen. I emailed the resort to request an upgrade before we went but they didn't respond which I thought was quite bad. The first room we were put in was horrible and right next to all the construction work, to say the least I was very dissapointed, but we were moved to a lovely room the next day over looking the pool. Pay the extra and get a nice room it will make a big difference! Drinks and food are fairly expensive at this resort compared to what else is around, also the bars close at 6pm and 8pm which is a bit silly but there is plenty else around.
Walking distance to beach, very convenient, spas pubs cafe shopping all within walking distance Service attitude (could have been better)
it was very good , the service and location great we needed to check out one day earlier due to our boy being sick and wanted to get him back to his doctors. we explained to staff and they still required one day payment, even though resort was not full and we had already stayed 6 days...this was not good or accomodating
Great location, even though right in centre of Chaweng, once in the resort you cannot hear street noise. Staff we're very friendly & helpful and we even got upgraded. Would stay there again!!
On the beach location. Serenity of the gardens No
Everything was perfect. The staff is just excellent there. My my fractured her toe in the gym (her mistake) and the staff did everything possible to make sure we all were taken care of and comfortable. This included changing her room to a more convenient location on the ground floor of a building as close as possible to the reception area, a buggy whenever we wanted to go out, etc etc. By far, the best hotel in Samui.
Very friendly staff, and beautifull hotel when the works are finished. It's a bit far from from the city and more then half of the hotel and the facilities are not finished yet. When finished it's a fantastic hotel!
the hotel staff was friendly and i liked the room it was excellent it gave us a lot of privacy. no 24hours room service
A terrific luxury room in a spectacular hotel. Excellent pool. The best breakfast we have ever encountered. Sensational choice and all fresh. Many of the amenities like the gym and second pool were not ready at the time we stayed. The hotel land block is very steep and a challenge when returning at night. Although the room was stunning in design and spacious, we had booked a Deluxe Seaview room but it did not have a sea view. We had to stand on tip toe and lean over to catch a glimpse of any ocean. We were very disappointed.
Location. Room. We stayed in a pool villa which was excellant. The staff is friendly but if compared to Banyan Tree rersorts , they still have much to learn.... I have noted that booking.com mentioned below that I booked a Deluxe room while I booked the Pool Vila and that what we have got. The booking for the other members of the party was for deluxe rooms. The resort is located less than 5 minutes slow drive from the airport. As such , one should expect a free shuttle to and from the location. If you wish to use the hotel shuttle be ready to pay relatively high amount of money (when compared to other local transportation)..
It's a hotel that caters for everyone! I don't have children whereas my friends do and we all found something we liked to do and enjoyed ourselves in our own styles all at the one place! It is a resort and very few of the staff understood English. It took 3 days to get crushed ice in our margaritas!
I enjoyed the use of the Club Lounge. The private beach and overall hotel grounds are beautiful. Too many loud fireworks going off during the evening.
Position, friendliness of staff, "Club" facilities & relaxed but quality approach.
All the staff at this hotel were very nice except the staff at the reception desk. These people went I arrived at the hotel and when I left 4 days later were still not very friendly, no smiles, very blunt.
Beautiful place, luxury rooms, brilliant food.
Happy The air-condition inside the room Is loud.
This hotel matches its name perfectly -- it is a grand beach resort -- with everything you could expect and more. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The staff were so well-trained and friendly, the food was great -- you have to try the beach barbecue! Take a pool room -- your own private pool in a walled garden -- pure luxury and a great way to relax.
The room was great and having an adjoining room with my friend was great - like having a suite without the suite price. Beautiful view and great service, location and amenities! Will recommend this resort to everyone! Hard to communicate with the personnel - but not just with the hotel staff, seemed to be common thoughout Thailand - my problem, not theirs.
In the middle of town, and they have a lovely beach. The breakfast was great. The rooms are dark og wet, the design is very old and tired. I simply can not find the 5 stars - maybe 3, no more. The water in shower, bathtub and toilet looked dirty and the room had a bad smell - if you have to do some printing from the hotels printer you must pay 45 bath per side if in colour - crazy and not costumer friendly. Never again.
staff, pool and location to beach A bit pricey for Thailand eventhough all ok
nice staff, on the beach no water sports at the hotel, no gym and transportation to shopping area should be complimentary
No more than 3 star hotel!!!!
The welcome by the french trainee lady was great - very friendly and knowlegeable. (Unfortunatley her name badge only read trainee so I cant name her). The breakfast and the in particular the egg station was excellent! So many steps!
A warm welcome and a complimentary upgrade to a family suite was nice. Pool and beach area comfortable with plenty of room and sunbeds. Many many steps so unsuitable for the elderly or infirm. The staff not always on the ball for basic things.
The beach in front of the hotel was really nice, quiet and beautiful. The sea water pool beside the beach was also pretty nice. The hotel room was spacious and clean and all rooms have sea view. The service of the hotel staff was very much in peronal touch. One of them actually helped me retrieving a stuff that I mistakingly left at a store near airport. It is located bit far away from Chawen town, but you can rent a motor cycle at the hotel without depositing your passport. With its reasonable price, I would highly recommend this hotel who wish to stay at a comfortable hotel with nice beach, located at convenient but quiet place. As the hotel lies on a hill, if you stay at a room close to the hotel's main building, you will have to climb up and down the path on the steep hill to go to and come back from the beach.
Helpfull staff, great location on the beach, inexpensive good quality massage. It would be nice if there was a kids club.
Hotel campus was fantastic, Quality and cost for the food in Tara Restaurant was very good Internet service was too expensive
We loved everything about the hotel, especially the gardens, the pool and the beach. And we also want to point out the serviceminded and lovely staff, all of them greeted us with a smile be it the waitresses, the massage ladies, the pool-boy and the reception-desk. We ate many of our meals either in the Tara restaurant or the beach restaurant, and they make lovely thai food and also international food had by our children. The beach is perfect, less people than Chaweng and no loose dogs or cats as elswhere on the island. If you want to go to Chaweng, only 5-10 minutes by taxi ( 200bath for a family one way) and always nice to be back in the hotel after busy Chaweng with its smell......The absolute perfect hotel in a perfect setting!!
Pool and beachside facilities the quality and variety of food in the tara resturant was a little disappointing and definately not value for money.
Attentiveness and friendliness of staff. Peaceful atmosphere. No sea views although it is right on the beach.
Superb staff, beautiful resort, amazing food.
Great location. Friendly staff, always happy to assist. Good facilities. I would definately stay again.
Such a gorgeous property with delicious food! You definaltey feel like you are staying at a luxury property. It was great to have the option to walk to Fisherman's Village for other meal and drink options but we loved all our meals right at the property. Perfect spot for the second week of our Thai honeymoon. Thank you Bo Phut!
Excellent, friendly hotel staff, generally very good food. Rooms were more than adequate, spacious, well set out, and very clean. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, even housekeeping asking if you were happy with everything in the room. Nice area at the beach with good pool and sun deck. On arrival many things were explained, about the hotel and surrounding area, it may have been better to produce a booklet so you had a record for future reference. A little pricey in the restaurants- but for Thailand, not for a five star hotel.
The politeness of staff was excellent. Just the wirless internet service!!
The rooms are absolutely breathtaking, the staff are the friendliest staff I have ever encountered and the value for money was out of this world. I don't think I can stay anywhere again and enjoy it as much!
Dip pool in villa. Very bland architecture and gardens; beach very unattractive.
The staff is helpful. Location is great. Altough you can walk to Chawana Town by the sea side, the neighbourhood is quite silent. Beach is not very convenient for swimming. The staff's English is very limited.
The resort facilities were good, was nice & relaxing Unprofessional when approaching a guest issue
Very nice rooms (we stayed at a Sala Villa with private pool) and facilities (restaurant, swimming pools, gym). Restaurant and spa absolutely overpriced.
Concept and quality: villas with pools where most people spend their time since a lot of space on a small quite beach and 2 excellent pools, very nice beach facilities, a good quality restaurant. Location: only 10 min by taxi to Samui key locations: Chaweng, Bo-Phut, airport some people may not like that Sala Samui seem to be the only 5 star hotel on the beach shared with neighboring 3 and 2 star hotels. Would be fare to say that since Sala Samui is at the end of that beach this is not very distrubing
The peacefulness, size and location of the resort. Particularly liked the beach access and the view to the ocean from the pool/restaurant area. Bath products supplied were impossible to use as you couldn't get them out of the containers. This was a real pain as no one takes their own shampoo etc to use.
Very good service. Staff friendly and polite; helpful. Service at restaurant could be slow
Amazing pool villa; quick and attentive service, especially as a resort hotel. Small varieties on TV; no English Premier League football coverage. A little aged mattres, which is soft.
Beautiful and quiet hotel. Located o nice beach on Samui. Good for family with small kids. Restaurant good and prices OK as well (of course not compared to a food court, but than that is nog where you eat), restaurants nearby, babybed goof, babychairs as well.
The villa was beautiful and the service and staff exceptional No
Fantastic hotel in a wonderful natural surrounding. Good and functional architecture. Excellent food and of course wonderful staff. I would live there if i could..
The Location is absolutely beautiful. We think its the best area on the island of Koh Samui. Hotel Staff were excellent, we will definately be back in the future.
supurb hotel, location, design and above all: the staff and service!!! We also got a double upgrade. We booked a balcony but got a room with private pool, etc... The breakfast is excelllent, lots, but lots of choice. The location is ideal; not to far from the city and right next to the relatively quit beach no, can't find any minor points
We stayed in a 2 bed pool villa, accomodation and facilty of the roomk was very spacious and to a very good design standard. The outdoor bathroom of the second bathroom was a nice quirky touch. The main pool and beach was very nice although the typical sunbed wars was common due to a shortage of beds around beach and pool. Although listed as a 5 star hotel, the accomodation meets this star rating but the staff and facilty did not. Simple request could not be met, such as a side salad with a main course meal of lasagne. They heavily advertise the Red Snapper restaurant within the facilty but this is acutually off site by 20 mins. Drinks are very expensive within the hotel and by the pool when compared to Thailand hotel prices.
Perfect holiday with excellent island location, room and spa facilities complimented by the very friendly and helpful staff - it was a great holiday
Beautiful villa, extremely friendly welcoming staff, delicious food, beautiful grounds. We did not see it at its best as we were unlucky to be there during terrible weather but the beach was a bit disappointing, somewhat rough sand and rocks washing in, but its har to know how much of this was due to the storms and also to the storms making it a bit rough and unusable.
I like the place and it is very comfortable No
The rooms were very nice and private, and the pool fantastic The Service was poor, and no shop on the premises.Breakfast no fresh juices.and shutllebus only goes once a day and you have to pay.Overall not 5 star standard.
A new, very beautiful resort and spa on a very picturesque beach. The rooms were gorgeous and very spacious, and the grounds were lovely. A great value for the money. The food was very expensive for Thailand, though it was good. The drinks were extremely expensive and good. The beach, though beautiful, is not swimmable and extremely rocky under the water -- I got cuts all over my feet even I was being very careful.
Relaxed by the pool and on the very private beach.
Loved the main swimming pool and beach. Resort as a whole was very nice and the rooms were very spacious and lovely. The staff were very helpful and accomodating at all times compulsory 10% service charge + 7% tax. All published pricing ommitted this extra 17% so you had to calculate the extra charges. I feel that the food & drinks were over priced. Hotel also exploited the fact that it was isolated and charged 500baht for a car to take you 10 minutes away.
