Staff, location No wifi
free toiletries, see above, discremanation for blue badge holders.
The relaxing, calm and quiet atmosphere. The quality of the rooms is exceptional and my request for a quiet area and top floor were satisfied. Nothing at all.
the staff where very helpful when we needed them, and the bar stayed open longer than we had expected we were only there a couple of nights, so not really
very comfortable and clean, excellent location, close to town but back off of the main road so not noisy.
visit family No
Very comfortable bed, great quiet sleep despite being near reception and one of the best breakfasts I've had.
The Receptionist, Gemma, was extremely helpful on early arrival
Very Helpful Staff None
The Hilton Honours reservation did not reserve my room and at check out there was not a good level of service. My bathroom was unclean
Location - set back off the main road & only a few minutes walk to Angel tube station. Staff were friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast had a good choice of food. Room & bathroom were clean and a good size.
Clean and fresh looking rooms I had booked breakfast with my room and the hotel said I did not. It was quite a pain having to prove this
We were only there for an overnight after a long haul flight, but found the hotel to be comfortable and the breakfast excellent. The staff were considerate and helpful when we encountered a problem with our room. The first room we were allocated had a pungent smell which meant we simply couldn't stay in it. We were then moved next door, only to find that once the window had been closed the same smell built up in the room. We only discovered this after an evening in the bar with our son, so were eventually moved at 11.30pm to an upgraded room. All a bit inconvenient, but the problem was well handled by staff and we eventually got a comfortable night's sleep.
Absolutely immaculate. Comfortable beds, spacious rooms for inner city, good facilities and first class cleanliness.
It was close to all tube stations There was building works from 7am which disturbed my sleep, the staff were not that friendly either
helpful, and clean, your food was great
Location is good with access to underground Room was cold and exposed to traffic noise
Good clean hotel None
The location. Also the servicing of the room and the cleaning staff were exceptional. The rooms were very poorly lit. Also I was given incorrect information by one of the reception staff which meant I thought I had to stay an extra night when in fact I didn't. This cost me £200.
good meal in bar. room 244 was more like bed and breakfast room than a Jurys room.
A good quality hotel in a great place None
Ideal location and room rate. Customer relations could be improved.
Convenience for our family wedding in Islington
The breakfast was good and it was a busy and vibrant hotel. We had lunch in the bar the following day and the soup was luke warm. The bar staff were alright but not particularly concerned about the complaint.
cozy, calm, good location
Location Expensive room rate and cold poached eggs. Understaffed breakfast room on Sunday morning.
It was good however there were two things that were a bit of an issue. The bathtub was quite a high way up from the floor so it was difficult/slippery getting in and out. Particularly for an elderly person. The sink also came out quite far from the mirror so it was difficult shilst shaving for one of the staff members that stayed in the hotel. Other than thaose things, the hotel was sufficient. Thank you.
Location was brilliant. The room was a nice size, the air con worked well, liked the smellies. I found the decor a little dark, although I know that's the style of the hotel. Bed slightly on the hard side but still comfortable enough
General feel of the hotel and friendly staff
Very friendly yet professional welcome. Thought that the mini bar prices in the room were very reasonable for a London hotel of this excellent class. Liked the humourous touches such as the comments on the laundry bag. Overall, everything felt that little bit "special". Nothing to dislike.
Location of the the hotel is excellent - a real hidden gem in a fascinating square. The hotel is special, and because breakfast was brought to our room too early (as opposed to too late at most hotels) they did not charge us for it - their suggestion not mine. Would stay again I would like to be able to switch the fridge off at night - sleeping in the same room means there is a constant background electrical noise. We are light sleepers and notice such things. It would be great if hotels catered specifically for light sleepers and offered rooms that didn't back onto car parks, air conditioning units, kitchens or had paper thin walls...one day maybe, and to be fair we did not mention this to the people at Malmaison - we were only there 2 nights so put up with it.
The location is unusual and quiet. I like to be able to open the window rather than relying on air conditioning. The style is original and exciting. Good quality food for breakfast. Nowhere to fold and store clothes and underwear. No glasses to drink water from. Poor bathroom toiletries - just shampoo, conditioner and soap. Inexperienced staff in the breakfast room.
friendly staff and sociable. Good food amd good atmosphere. the inner rooms are quite misserable.
Comfortable rooms, very quiet and a charming location.
the location was good for us and the room was large and a very good bed
Only hotel convenient to where I needed to be. Bar and dining most adequate. Some of bathroom fittings did not function well
We booked the stay at this hotel because we believed it would be perfectly placed for the Barbican Centre, but despite the name it was at least 20 minutes walk from the Centre
The room was clean and quiet - we didn't stay long enough to use any facilities so cannot comment on them. Staff not very helpful on checking in - I had left my reservation number in the car and insisted I had to get it - by the time I got back they had checked my wife in by confirmimg our post code.
Staff were very nice The single room I had was very small and bathroom was almost impossible to use as it is far too small.
good location for Barbican.
The room was small but functional. The concierge service and front desk were excellent, prompt and courteous and very, very helpful. Maid service was timely and appropriate. Breakfast buffet was excellent and filled with numerous choices and always very fresh. Dinner menu was limited but all choices were appetizing and enjoyed. The wifi service was hard to sign on, if you had good virus protection and was OPEN and therefore not secure. However, the hotel staff helped me a great deal in learning the necessary technique to sign on, and helped me several times with it thereafter. I would have preferred a password protected and secure wifi service which surprisingly was available at several local restaurants.
very clean, staff helpful, perfect location for us to visit family living two blocks away small room- bed uncomfortable-carpet frayed- room noisy due to the family next door- after they checked out things much better
very little room was small & grubby
the first room standard was very bad ,old furniture, small, very noise,no safe,no air condition, really terrible. however went to reception made a complain and got an up grade on a nice room.my opinium this old building must be repaired as soon as possible as difference is huge.
Location Shower curtain kept falling down
The staff was very plesant. The hotel location was well suited for my purpose in visiting London The mattress was very hard. I talked to the staff and they provided a softer mattress.
Had a hard time finding the hotel
None Lack of smiles, lack of manners, no greetings, concierge not helpful, lack of experience personnel to promote tourism.
the best thing was after a long day of travelling, meetings, work etc the pillows and bed were so comfy!! I didn't make use of any of the hotel facilities as i was in london for work purposes so did not spend much time actually in the hotel, but what i could see was very good, staff great. the only thing was not being able to open a window to let some air in.
The cost was fair, but the building was under construction / renovation. I was given a reduction on my tab because of the inconvenience due to the fire alarms. The fire alarms went off ~5 times over the 5 days we were there. The 1st night at midnight, the 3rd night at 8 PM, 1 AM, and again at 4 AM. It was a nightmare....
the staff are excellent, very comfortable room
Facilities in the room
It was in an ideal location to visit my son who is at University nearby and close to transport tosee London city and attractions. I would stay again due to its convenience plus hotel staff were very nice nothing was too much trouble. only two points to make water when showering was tepid and number of pillows was only two but I was given more on asking but this would not stop me from booking again.
Very well planned room with excellent range of equipment Being told I had not reserved a place when I arrived. It turned out that because I had booked on line, the booking had gone through to a central office that had not told the hotel. Fortunately, they had a room that was empty and ready.
i chose the Citadines hotel because i was attending a show at the Barbican centre.it is ideal for that because the Centre is within walking distance from the hotel.the room was fine and included most things needed e.g. steam iron, microwave,kettle,t.v.,dvd player . this is the second year running that i have used the hotel and i would definitely go there again.
Location - very convenient fo rthe Barican where i was attending events The bed. It dipped badly in the middle of a single bed and I slept very poorly. The tempartaure - the room was too war,
Great compact room, excellent for a business stay No
The warm welcome by your staff. It would have been good to have a small sign by the complimentary tea/coffee facilities in the room informing that there was more available from reception rather than paying very expensive prices at the shop across the road.
Very nice and clear apartement. Barbican station closed and others underground stations too far
very near tube station. kitchen and utensils very useful. 24hour reception. later departure would be useful
Close to underground station and office
closeness to where we needed to be. hotel was very beautiful getting a smoking room when specifically requested non smoking. requesting early check in - rooms not available
free wifi, friendly and helpful staff, real fire place at the lounge, convenient
Had a really nice relaxed homely feel to it and lovely room decor.
Attentive staff Lack of dressing table - or at least a mirror above the desk. Also - though bathroom v pretty - nowhere to put things below the mirror/next to the basin.
The room was comfortable and the facilities were good although tea making facilitieis would have been nice. Quite noisy at night and we were on the top floor which was quite hard getting up and down as we were quite old.
It did not have the impersonal feel of a hotel. I was really impressed with the standard of accommodation and the beauty of the rooms. The bathroom was extraordinary. I have already recommended it to my friends and intend to recommend it to my boss (American) when he is in London. Need to discuss corporate rate though for weekdays, it's a bit expensive. Brilliant price for the weeekend.
Old fashionned style, bathroom, bed, baby cot installed on our room, Ipod deck Not enough staff on week end for breakfast
Well-appointed room, very helpful staff, lovely public rooms, excellent breakfast. Tub/shower difficult for physically limited person.
location Very loud music just outside our room until 4 o'clock in thr morning,
Rooms were gothic and a pleasant change from the corporate look. Can be noisy at night with the local clubs. Poorly functioning aircon
The people which are managing the hotel are very good. I had the bad luck to stay - for a night - in the room no.305. I believe that I couldn't survive 2nd night in that room. The room is on the main street. Every single car, truck, motorbike, pedestrian passed by outside of the room & I could not sleep at all. I managed to slept - finally - even if I was very tired from the trip - at 3.30 o'clock in the morning. Didn't had the strength even to ask the hotel manager to change my room. Nevertheless, even when it was less noise from outside, then it was the thin walls of the room & literally speaking I was participating in the conversations of a couple beside my room, 3.00 o'clock in the morning.
As noted ion the responses above
the room(includng bathroom) was nice, clean and spacious versus some of the older hotels, great location, with friendly and helpful staff,a great room that was reasonably priced
The proximity to the Eurostar train station makes it very convenient to travel to Paris disneyland especially for family with young children. The hotel staff are helpful, services and facilities are beyond my expectations, and the cleanliness and comfort makes it ideal to stay in this hotel.
its location Shower is not female friendly. Its power head is stuck high on the wall, you cant wash yourself without compromisng a style of your hair!!!
Excellent size of room, comfort of the bed and well sound proofed.
Proximity to Kings Cross St. Pancras International Railway Station. The headboard on the bed was sticky and dirty. The bed mattress was hard and uncomfortable.
Quite, good location
The location was fantastic as I was arriving into and out of london via St Pancras Station The price was a bit expensive
No facilities in the room even for what was supposed to be a budget hotel the open wardrobe was full with 2 coats hanging up and the safe was virtually on the floor so you had to lie on the floor to set it...and then it fell off the shelf and anyone could have picked it up and walked away with it. I understand your advertising quotes room from £29 per night and I know you expect London to be more expensive, but £250 for 2 nights was actually an insult and I would never book a Premier Inn again..Holiday Inn Express is far superior for only a small amount more!
Room a little larger than most. N/A
The staff is very friendly, and the English breakfast is good! The Internet connection is not stable. I stayed 5 nights, and only able to use the internet the first night. The breakfast is served 7-9am daily, but one morning when I had to leave early about 7:30am, nothing was on the table around 7:20 that mroning. The room is tiny!
cooked breakfast nothing
The hotel was fairly close to Kings Cross station and right above a pub. The price was pretty reasonable and the room was much, much better than I expected. I'd stay here again. The pub closed a bit too early.
The lack of ensuite and the early finish to the breakfast considering it was continental and nothing to cook
the staff was very friendly oom was clean and the shower was good the room is really small (really fit for only one person), but it's london and you have to expect that for the price you pay. The internet was worked, but not always, so don't expect it to be 100% reliable.
The rooms were very comfortable, and recently renovated. All the members of staff were very friendly and helpful.
Ramy was very nice Elton wasn't that nice. Also: depressing location, small rooms, old and unconfortable bed.
Cleanliness, friendliness of staff Shower room was v small. Iron was high quality but no ironing board so had to use a desk
friendliness of the staff rooms are supersmall
Very stylish, "hip" hotel in business district nearby the Farrigdon Tube station. Nice bar and restaurant, very comfortable. Not a particularly attractive neighborhood, but within walking distance of several good restaurants, pubs and shopping. The bed in our "Deluxe" room on the 3rd floor corner, was a bit "saggy". I kept rolling into the middle. I think it's time for them to upgrade the beds.
Light, well-designed rooms, excellent food, friendly & helpful staff, location convenient for both City and many restaurants/shops etc. It was all good.
It was one of the best hotels I've ever stayed. It is really clean, well equipped, very convenient in every aspects including getting coffee, tea, and absolutely very strong conditioned free wi-fi. The hottest thing was very fresh lemon smelled shampoo, conditioner and bath soap.
.courteous welcome,efficient check in.delightful room(306)lovely view,v.comfortable bed,clean modern shower-room,great design.The Bistrot staff were friendly,knowledgeable,wonderful service, exceptional innovative menu,memorably delicious lunch.
Annoying and dirty.
Surprisingly comfortable youth hostel, helpful staff. Good value for money. Noisy bar but luckily our room was far away from it. Noise from other residents coming home late disturbing at night.
The place is fantastic and the staff was very kind.
Very helpfull staff and some are even french speakers. Great breakfast organisation and good choice. Nice to have a bar in the hostel for the first night ! Having a big and comfy living room would be nice.
Price Room was a bit small
Location was good. Reception staff very friendly. Breakfast was a bit like organised chaos and the kitchen and accomodation staff were very unfriendly and unhelpful. Also, charging £2 per towel per day was a bit ridiculous.
Friendly and clean. Breakfast included. Cosy. Nice building.Good sound-proofing. Room too small, Lockers not big enough for small suitcase.
Toilets and showers Luggage room is not properly secured
Breakfast was alright, Beds were changed everyday. Shower was hot. Carpet in the room was very dirty and tired. Tv in the room didn't work. Bathroom very basic. Pillow case stained. Shower sprayed everywhere apart from on to you.
I liked nothing about this hotel. I stay in hotels all the time as I work away from home and this is the worst I have ever stayed in and it is not that cheap, there are much better budget hotels out there. Nobody minds faded fixtures, but dirty rooms and hallways are unacceptable The dirt everywhere, the place was absolutely filthy. The place is ramshackle and falling down. The toilet leaked all over the floor, the list of bad is endless.
Heating was not working at all. The room should have double glazing windows. The staff was rude and not polite. Also, someone from the staff was walking around the corridor making noise with keys - I couldn't sleep.
it was easy to check in and check out, location wasnt too bad poor service, very thin walls and poor hygiene
Big bedroom, lot of light, good matress, nice bed lights, nice and warm shower. Falling off curtains, everything needs refreshing ( carpet, paint, furniture...)
Location was ideal for my purpose, 5 minutes from the tube and 10 minutes from the Forum (where I was headed that night). Cheap! Naturally at this price for a night in central London, you can't expect too much. The room was clean but the decor could do with a good going over, plus the shower didn't work and both taps in the sink seemed to produce hot water! Tv was also pretty much unusable (volume button had disappeared into the unit and the signal was atrocious). The hotel itself is in a quiet location but in my room there was the permanent sound of water rushing in pipes which went on constantly.
Nothing I wouldn't even let' my dog stay here!
the hotel should not be call at all hotel ..look like more a hostel in my suite the shower did not work properly it was not cold water nearly burned my self that was inpossible have a shower....and i could not make the payment with credit card because the poor lady in reception did not know how the machine works...
None apart from checking out Plaster coming off walls, curtains hanging off rails, hole in the wall, poor unfriendly service/staff, expensive, no choice for the breakfast, broken window, light in bathroom-paint peeling, possible damp in room. Unclen
Beds were comfortable, sheets and towels were pristine clean. About to be refurbished - has lots of potential! Poor toilet/shower room facilities. Minimal facilities in bedroom. Very shoddy fittings & fixtures.
I expected tea/coffee making facilities in the room as advertised, however these were not there.
Location, Laid back staff. Bit dodgy cleaness wise
Hotel in nice location. Booked this hotel in february for 2 nights in june sent email 4 days before our sty to confirm booking which I got a reply to say everything was booked ...on our arrival we were told we werent booked in. it was only due to the fact that I had taken a copy of the booking confirmation email that they found us a small room. No facilities to make a cup of tea in the rooms, very poor decor and cleanliness staff not very polite.
Lovely people -- eastern european I think. Gnerally clean -- Clean bedding etc. Room was minute as was shower could not shut door as so small. Wall paper hanging off ceiling and walls. No door on wardrobe because no room to open it. No light in bathroom. No tea coffee making facilities.
The quiet neighborhood, the convenience of being near a tube station, the fact that someone was always available for assistance 24 hours, a full course breakfast every morning, storing luggage after check-out Not against the hotel------I just wished the guests had more consideration towards their fellow lodgers with the noise level after 12:00 midnight and the unnecessary slamming of doors. The walls are very thin between rooms and you can hear practically everything.
Location No smoke detectors or fire doors, no kettle/tea/coffee in rooms, no shower door, no lampshade, the flex and ceiling rose were filthy, toilet roll holder broken, only furniture wardrobe, table and bed. Very noisy with slamming doors from 6.30 in the morning and late at night.
cheap and friendly and tufnell park thin walls and smashing doors
Very handy to tube (Northern Line). Off road parking. Good breakfast - bacon and eggs although website said continental breakfast only. Fairly quiet area. Friendly and helpful staff. No curtain in room (ok privacy-wise as on top floor but waking with the summer sunrise was a bit much!). Tiny bathroom.
Very good! The recepist is really helpful and nice!
Breakfast, location They put a man in the room who stays regularly and is known to snore loud !!!
Price, location, breakfast included Check in staff didnt have my booking, they charged me again, put me & partner in separate rooms, then found the original booking so refunded us and we had to change rooms. The beds had not been cleared from previous night and we checked in at 5.50pm
central location, bed curtains, Wi-Fi no hot water, poor Wi-Fi connection (sometimes not working at all), not working personal power outlets, not very clean
Clean and good people. Nobody disturb you.
There is no curfew, and it seemed safe and the sheets were clean. Because there is no cerfew, other guests could be noisy and disruptive late at night.
Very near Kings Cross Station Rooms were too cramped and claustrophobic. As were the common areas. Not very social
The design of the beds, the individual curtains give you more privacy than at many other hostels. Bed Bugs-- I checked out after one night!
Very close to the station
The staff is very friendly and helpfull In the night it is quite noisy
Near to the Kings Cross To crowded room and noisy environment
Hotel was clean and staff friendly En suite was tiny and breakfast was sparse
Good location for tube station and Holloway Road area. Clean bedding. Staff helpful. Sink in room was clean. Not enough shared bathrooms. Bathroom downstairs was poor - weak shower over bath, very old bath/toilet/sink. Carpet and curtains in room were filthy. Can't believe I paid 134pounds for 2nights when my friend paid 99. I was told this was an agency fee - this is extortionate!
Good breakfast. Comfortable bed when able to get in it as pushed up against wall and one of us had to climb over the other to get in!! En-suite was in a cupboard. Broken toilet seat. Brown water in wc. Difficult turning off hot and cold water to wash basin. Shower look very unsavoury and was not able to use it. One of the towels had a hole in it.
Quiet leafy suburb, a pleasant friendly welcome, good wireless internet Tiny room, miniscule 'en-suite' facilities, poor TV reception, no tea/coffee in room, window broken, breakfast served too late and was minimal (vegetarian option was a fried egg, white bread only)
I found this hotel did not match its online discription. I booked a double room with ensuite. I got a twin room which was very small, with a small pod like ensuite in which it was almost inpossiable to have a shower in.There waas no tea/coffee makinf in the rooms its self. The room was draughty with no modern double glazed windows we are in the 21st century. This was not somewhere i would recommend and most certainly not be using again. Not value for money !!!!
the location of the hotel is quiet and nice; the room was clean enough You can clearly hear what the other other guests do; the toilet is too small, you can't even lower your pants when inside
The staff was very helpful and supportive. The hotel is a bit off the beaten path, making it a bit of a hike getting ther and back.
location was good for what we wanted not to expensive rooms were very basic, it is just there as a hotel to make money no real hospitality. The breakfast was ok, a lady from the kitchen asked us if we wanted bacon and eggs and it was just bacon and eggs, but there was cereal, toast, fruit, juice and hot drinks.
Kitchen was Clean No Kettle in Room The Toilet/Shower was disgusting it needed a good clean and a good bleach The light shade wasn't even the right one for the light and it was dripping in cob webs The bed was very hard and the pillows were like a sheet of toilet paper The telly was hard to see from the bed plus it kept cutting out on the sound The room it self could of done with a Good Clean/Paint It states it is close to the Emirates Stadium but it isnt It states on this web site full english breakfast - yet we were only offered a slice of bacon and an egg??????
The Room was ok, apparently clean but with a strong smell of drain and mold. Quite neighbourhood but thin walls and squeaky floors, but ok.
