Staff friendliness Location Rooms too small
the vacum cleanin of the carpet was very bad
It was pretty close to most tourist attractions. Staff at times can be uncoperative.
The hotel is very clean and the staff are friendly and efficient. It is located in an excellent position, especially if you are visiting London to see the sights. No.
The communication of the hotel staff was excellent, they were all very proffessional. My compliments to all of them.
Decor and ambience - a very Victorian feel. There was nothing we deidn't like.
The basement room and the reception the broken shower that was only partly repaired
Very hospitable staff. Room very cosy. Breakfast room very clean and breakfast very good value. None
Great location for museums and shopping. Comfortable but small room.
hotel was quaint...nicely decorated, good location, staff helpful and friendly, location (when staying in room on the front of the hotel) was very noisy, room was very hot....temperature not adjustable..
Very good hotel, just 5 minutes from South Kensington station, next to very popular museums. Good value for money. A room was clean and comfortable, breakfast included. Can't say anything bad about this hotel. Would reccomend it to my friends, family and everybody who is looking for a great location in London, but not ready to pay a lot :-)
its central position to Kingsbridge and shopping Water in bath and shower not hot enough at any time
The Hotel staff are extremely friendly, welcoming and very very helpful. They always remember me from my previous stay. The disabled facilties are not upto dda standards. The ramp to the reception is unsafe, too steep and not legal!! You must get the electric wheelchair lift repaired and make sure that it can operated by the wheelchair user from the pavement. either that place a bell outside so that the attention of the reception staff can be alerted. I would recommend this hotel to able bodied persons, but not to wheelchair users.
The very good location of the hotel and helpful staff, also good heating. The toilet in the bathroom didn't work too well and no extractor for the steam in bathroom.
The location of the hotel - central, being within walking distance of Knightsbridge tube station, yet quiet enough to get an undisturbed nights sleep! Vey clean hotel, providing a very good breakfast.
This was a very charming hotel. The location was wonderful - only a few blocks from an Underground station and Hyde Park. The staff was great - very helpful and friendly. The concierge helped with getting tickets to museums and other attractions as well as trains, which saved a great deal of time not waiting in long lines. We took advantage of the breakfast service. The food was good with lots of options. The waitstaff was very attentive. We did not have to wait long for assistance. The maid staff was fine as well and also very friendly. On several occasions, we had to call the front desk to request additional towels and they arrived within minutes. The Rembrandt is an older hotel with some of the issues associated with that. For example, the "switch" that controlled power to the room would "break" if the bathroom door was closed to hard in our room or a neighboring room. This could be easily fixed by tapping on the control panel. The room had a small table and desk, so there was no room for a wardrobe. It was a little difficult living out of a suitcase for two weeks. It would have been smarter to remove the desk and substitute some drawers for clothing.
room was quite spacious and location quite central food was not very good byt fair for England
Our room was on the small side.
The Rembrandt is in a great location not far from the many sights of London. We had a wonderful room with a balcony and a spa bath! It was excelent.
Well designed room; very complete; lots of nice touches. Heated towel rack; jacuzzie tub; upscale furnishings; even has a couple of 110/115 outlets. Location cannot be beat; just down from Harrods and up from South Kensington Underground station two stops away from Victoria Station and 4 stops away from Westminster Station. The BigBus "hop on hop off" number 36 is just out front and the narrated tour the bus provides last right at 3.5 hours with city traffic and goes to every single place of interest. Tour bus pricing varies based on package deal but around $30 per person. The staff of the hotel always exceeds expectation; Neal, the head concierge; is full of insights for the area; found us a large private van to Heathrow for $65. We had 4 big bags from a twoo week Cruise, so the large Mercedes was excellent. The hotel and its ammenities are moderately pricied if not leaning a little toward expensive, as in breakfast; but in tota,l worth the money especially if on vacation. A superior experience; will stay here again when visiting London for sure.
Very friendly, helpful staff, comfortable room, well positioned for C London.
Service was outstanding. They provided extra towels and outlet adapter when asked. Rooms are spacious and clean. Great place to use for our home base for our anniversary getaway to London. Centrally located downtown. Close to the tube. Full English breakfast was included in our reservation but I was informed that not every reservation qualified for the "full" breakfast and instead they received a continental breakfast. Limited menu in hotel restaurant.
Pool Paper thin walls, constant slamming of doors in the hallway!
Location and layout. Hotel is located right beside tube station and within a lot of great amenities and attractions.
Everything...gorgeous facility, interesting decorations, lovely staff, fabulous location...just shy of perfection!Q Rooms are not huge, but still loved loved loved the hotel
I like location and the interior design very much. And the staff is great. Bit limited on spaces (room and public place)
The location is perfect being steps from the South Kensington tube station and close to museums, shops, food, etc but not right next to the major tourist stops so you don't feel you are surrounded only by tourists. Plus, free drinks in the mini fridge The rooms were on the small side but what would be expected in London.
Everything was state of the art. Staff were very helpful. Location is great with the underground close by and a bus stop out front. Prime location in an outstanding area of London
Our room was perfectly set up for the traveller with a perfect set up for your clothes and plenty of room. The entrance has 3 steps,a long step and then 2 more steps which makes it impossible for the handicap to access. So sad for such a perfect hotel. This seems to be true for a lot of London hotels.
Due to airline delays, our exhausted family of three arrived at the Pelham after midnight and was met with a warm welcome and beautifully appointed room (with a comfortable extra bed set up as requested for our son). Our only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. The Pelham could not have been lovelier, and the location is a perfect home base for exploring London.
I first stay at the Pelham in 1993. Based on this stay it is as good or better than ever. A civilized haven in the best corner of London.
Great location -a short walk to Harrods,V&A, and super little patisseries, restaurants and shops. Room had spacious bathroom with the lovely Penhaligon products.
the comfort, service and the little gadgets that felt like your in your own house. Too many furniture in the bedroom that made the room small
I liked the decor and the products in the room and how clean and nicely refurbished the hotel is. I thought the rooms are a bit small for the price
I liked the small size (no convention) and the personal attention. The rooms are really small although I recognize that this comment could be made about many London hotels.
well I loved the place and the staff specially, they even went with me to show the room and they kept asking of I need anything to insure my comfort. it was great! the rooms are a bit small, and i see it a bit expensive but this is London after all.
The hotel is very confortable, the staff is friendly; the breakfast is exellent; the rooms are beautiful no
Egerton House is the best hotel I have stayed in over a 25 year period of visiting London. The staf couldn't have been more pleasant and helpful and my room (a standard double, I believe) was lovely and comfortable.
Excellent personal service, great food - quite simply a great hotel. You would be very hard pushed to find anything even slightly wrong with this hotel !
The hotel was beautiful, and the room was very elegant and comfortable. The staff were very helpful, although they were busy
Breakfast facilities were good. Was not re-assure when fire alarm was triggered three times during the night
Nothing about the hotel apart from its location. The hotel is shabby, run down and dirty. My room was totally inadequate and the smallest room I have ever stayed in. It was impossible to open the bathroom door and get in without clambering over the bed! The noise of the neighbouring rooms shower at 5am was like a jet plane coming through the room. I could go on but am trying to forget the Gainsborough experience. I will be consulting trip advisor.
Friendly staff. Location. Tiny old room. No heating in the bathroom.
The bathtub was nice and the mattress put us to sleep. Decor was interesting and the tv was large. It is very close to the tube and attractions making it useful to walk to many attractions in South Kensington and Westminister. The room was small (drawers could not be opened without adjusting other furniture). The ambiance was not pleasant, borderline spooky. The staff fumbled with almost everything and were unclear about important details.
Room was not large but very well decorated and had everything we needed eg comfy bed(queen size),tea/coffee making.air con(which we needed), a quiet room per my request and a full roomy bathroom. Very adequate.
Friendly staff, complimentary soft drink on arrival
Perfect location for the museums - very quiet street and good sized room. Staff were helpful and attentive.
I chose it because it was central and it was lovely to be able to get to shops and galleries/museums so quickly. Also wonderful decor in the public rooms. The desk lamp was not working; it seemed that for the price we paid it would have been usual to expect all the facilities to be in working order. It was mentioned to the desk but as we were only there for one night it was not possible to fix it in time.
I really enjoyed my breakfast. I chose the cooked breakfast and thought that the food was very good and the service was good. The dining room was very elegant with a relaxing atmosphere. Although I did think my bed was very comfortable which is unusual for me in hotels I was disappointed with my room which was a de-luxe twin. The beds took up too much room and it was difficult to get into the hanging area as the door couldn't open properly because of the one bedside cabinet. Also our clothes felt damp and cold in the morning.
We stayed at The Gallery- it was changed because we read a review that the Gainsborough had a problem with noise from nightclub next door Our room was very dusty and the double bed was a small queen size bed which was too small for two of us to share comfortably- it had a very old mattras which was very uncomfortable- otherwise the room was quite attractive
Location and comfort
I have been coming to B-P house for nearly twenty years, and it has always been a great place to stay. The building is well maintained and the staff friendly. The decor in the bedrooms is a little old, and the room we had cramped as there was a sofa bed in there (Rm 401).
It has washer and dryer facilities. Friendly staff. Remind me my time when i was living in university dorm ten years ago. The bed is a bit dirty, too many tennagers making noises at night. Water from shower is too slow.
Cleanliness of room and other facilities. Price was excellent value for the money.
Location was great. Bathroom was very small but we knew that it was a hostel. The sheets and pillow cases were very clean but the duvets and pillows themselves could have done with replacing.
excellent location room quite cold, no tea/coffee facilities in room
Hotel staff were very helpful with arranging taxis and giving bus info and directions. The food was good and food prices reasonable. Not enough internet availability. Not enough telephone availability. Not enough showers.
Close to tube stations in central/west London. Easy access to all of central London from here. Museums close by. Very reasonably priced. Rather noisy air conditioning in room.
Staff displayed exceptional courtesy , were very competent and helpful when fielding requests .In this group setting I found superior levels of consideration among fellow guests.. .The buffet breakfast menu is healthy and the food was good. My family have been part of Guides & Scouting movement over the years & hope to spend a couple of vacation days here in in London in 2008.. .Most of all, the facility is safe, spotless ,very central and convenient for getting around .Good people, good work. In spite of the 'no takeouts' notices ,noticed some packing sandwiches for their lunches... This must mess up the food preparation planning , is not fair for others ,leaving much less choice for..later breakfast arrivals.
Central Room was cold. Breakfast choice poor
Pros: nice, helpful people at the reception; very good location; Cons: not too compfortable bed; very small shower; it was quite cold in the room in November.
