I didn't like the stairs. One of our party was an 87yr old lady and I suffer from knee problems. We were not advised when booking that there was no lifts and also we were not asked if it would be a problem with stairs. Our room was also very cold.
Nice location and easy drive to londonderry and surrounding places None
Spacious room and well appointed. Excellent food. Noisey fire door on landing near my room 102 guests allowed the door to bang constantly up until 2.30pm also bathroom door almost impossible to openm
As it was an overnight stay hardly qualifies us to give any detailed assessment other than to say that we were happy with what we saw. My moto is that if you go looking for bad points you will find them but as we saw things we were pretty well content.
The food was excellent and Staff very effectient No complaints
i enjoyed the breakfast in bed,the breakfast was out of this world. that we had to go outside and walk up to the other ball room.
I was very pleased when I got to Derry city and phoned the B&B for directions, Barry came to meet me and I followed him to the B&B, also Joan was very welcoming and friendly and went out of her way to make us a late breakfast on Sunday morning.
the experience of staying in the bogside!
The woman who attended us was lovely, she explained us absolutely everything we needed to know about Derry. Also, she was nice when we asked for some coffee the next day for taking out, and she came back with coffee... and pancakes! Room was very good, warm and clean. Just the stairs are a bit noisy.
Staff welcome friendliness good food comfort ambience A bit overpriced for b&b
Brilliant hotel and lovely friendly owners. Couldn't be more helpful. We moved to Traveldoge for our second night because we weren't orignally doing two nights and wish I could have stayed another night at the Amore.
Excellent B&B, well well located in the Bogside, friendly and very confortable.
Barry and Joan (the owners) were extremely kind and hospitable, and very helpful in answering all of our questions about the area. The B&B is right in the heart of the Bogside neighborhood, so if you are interested in the history of the troubles (ie. Bloody Sunday), this is the place to stay. The murals, Museum of Free Derry and memorials are literally a 30 second walk from the front door. The walled city is about a 2 minute walk, as are all the pubs, restaurants and shops you could possibly need. We will definitely stay here again!!!!
We very much enjoyed our stay at Groarty House. The location has a 'country' feel yet still less than 10 minutes from the centre of Derry. The room was very comfortable and spacious. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, didn't go away hungry! Would be happy to stay here again.
Quiet scenic location. Clean, modern, great value for money Room insulation to corridors not great
the room was large and clean. No specific issue to report. welcome was rather limited
It was lovely, spacious, clean and very comfortable place to stay. The rooms are well equiped and thwe semi wet room bathrooom was excellent. A lovely peaceful location aids a good nights sleep. The proprietors are very welcoming, friendly and nothings a problem. I highly recommend Groarty House.
Very friendly Very hospitable Very helpful Lovely room Lovely location with beautiful view None
Very welcoming, spotlessly clean, full amenities, excellent breakfast taken at a time selectded by the guests
cleanliness and room facilities, warm and welcoming staff. excellent, peaceful location, close to city. nothing, it was all brilliant
The location and room were excellent
Ideally placed, luxurious towels, beautiful light and airy room, well appointed bathroom, warm and friendly hosts There is nothing we did not like
Comfortable, well appointed room friendly and accommodating staff excellent cooked breakfast Booking system is misleading in that it suggests you've paid by card when booking although you actually pay on-site
Excellent value & breakfast was superb. The owner was extremely helpful,we arrived late & wasn't a problem at all. None
Friendly staff cleaneness location No tea in room
Loved everything about this B & B. The owner was one of the best we came across during our travels, he was not only helpful but so incredibly knowledgeable when it came to Derry & its history. Our room was so great, very tastefully done, comfortable, large & impeciably clean. Bathroom was same, & well appointed. Easy walk into the city centre & any sightseeing. Breakfast was really great, extensive & tasty. I highly recommend Rose Park, we intend to visit Derry again as we didn't have enough time during this trip & we will definately being staying here. Great place
Is very confortable, clean. Just 10 min walk from the city center and Staff is very kind
This is the best B & B in Ireland with friendly owners and the lovliest dog you'll ever meet.
Nothing was too much trouble for the owner or his family - I stayed with my 2 children and we all had a pleasant, relaxed time. Breakfast was first class and there were loads of choices. Ideal location for Derry Airport.
Cleanliness of hotel; friendly, helpful staff; excellent breakfast; well- appointed comfortable room; hospitality None
Very helpful, friendly and cosy - made very welcome No tea and coffee facilities in the room (but was offered coffee on arrival)
The Host was First Rate ! Nothing was too much and the welcome was very humbling. Very clean and comfortable !
comfort great staff good food easy 2 get around the town better than 3 star hotels we have stayed in spotless will b back not enough time
Room nice, breakfast good. Location ok, pub next door. 10 min walk into town over the bridge. No towels in room, had to ask for them, but was ok.
It suited us for locality, and was a good price and the room was comfortable. I found it noisy due to being joined to a pub and people coming up to their rooms very late.
being in the front we heard all the noises from the main road perhaps the windows should be triple glazed.
The staff could not have been more pleasant and the bed was so comfortable I slept better than usual When booking I did ask for a bath if possible however our room only had a shower I did not like to query it but felt they should perhaps have said sorry the rooms with baths were all booked or something
Easy reach of the city, and traditional B&B.
Friendly staff, very clean hotel, close to the town centre and historic monuments, great bar next door, fantastic breakfast, easy parking. no
Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere
I liked the breakfast and the fact that the employee apologised for the noisy that was caused from the next room. It was very noisy.
convenient location, close to a number of restaurants and shops together with an excellent price
location convenient, friendly, helpful staff.
stayed at this hotel for just one night, my first impression was the friendly atmosphere , the hotel room was warm and inviting, will definitely go back again and stay much longer.enjoyed this hotel very much. I could not say i did not like anything about this hotel as it was first class and good value for money.
rooma was beautiful, staff were lovely and food was great!! the only downside was that our room was a bit cold!
the service and helpfulness of the staff
I loved the two 10oz Steaks and a bottle a wine for £25!!! Brilliant! Even though i know the room was clean there was a small stench of cleaning product in our room.... but it wasn't too bad, but you asked!
very convenient to other attractions and staff were very helpful breakfast disorganised and hot food bar didn't have enough food for all guests
The hotel was great we were very comfortable, the staff were very nice and friendly. I think they had just got a new manager so enthusiasm was in the air. We even got a toy for our child upon arrival. A happy customer!! Everything was great..
Hotel was clean, in a good location and comfortable. Parking was impossible to find.
Value for money Breakfast was quite a shambles. Huge queues and a table in the middle of the restaurant (a very large tbale that everyone could see) covered in all of the dirty plates/cups etc. this should have been removed to the kitchen and not left on site.
live music in bar
Was raining, car park in basement, lift to the room. Dinner at night was great value, but was for all three coarses, were one would have been enough, very good value
The staff was excellent! The view from our room was wonderful! We extended our stay and the front desk was very accommodating. Excellent value for the price we paid.
Good central location. Bed extremely comfortable.
Location to the Old City
Beautiful hotel well situated lovely staff fantastic food foyer buzzing , can't wait to get back Nothing
the room was big and bright with a great view of the river. The receptionist was rude and dismissive upon arrival which created an unpleasant start to the stay.
Good central location - lovely view from my room Not dislike - but thought it strange that there was no valance on the bed- you could see the base of the bed - took away from the look of the room
The attentivness and helpfulness of the staff . From the receptionist to the waiter all of them went that extra mile asking if they could be of additional help rather than just "serving us" plumbing sound from adjacent bathroom
Position of hotel, good staff
Staff very nice. Locationvery closed to the attractions Waiting on Sunday for Breakest
helpful friendly staff entertainment on sat night very bad -girl could not sing -
Nothing, It was horrid. Filthy, Smelly Dirty, Uneven bed, smelly, noisy, distorted TV... you name it it was just disgusting. Never book this place!
size of room We did not sleep a wink. It is situated across from a night club. It was a wednesday night however wasn't quiet til at least 5 in morning. I would never stay again.
location to shopping
location, entrance from parking structure; good bed and bathroom we stayed in the Tory Suite; which is also room 107, but it does not say so on the first door to the room, we felt idiotic looking for room 107; staff was unhelpful in this respect; also the lack of direct light from the window made the room claustrophobic; electric lights in the room were not very handy, made reading in bed impossible
easy access to city centre felt the rooms were a bit worse for wear since last i stayed and even after complaining we still had no hot shower after four days
Nothing, very disappointed with the cleanliness of the hotel and in particular my room. I have made a written complaint to Travelodge. See above
Centre of Derry so very handy The hotel was not clean
Central position I don't mind basic, but this Travelodge was grubby, very shabby and very noisy til 3am. The cost of overnight parking seemed excessive too. This used to be a pleasant place to stay, but all the quality fittings were either broken or missing. Quite a disappointment.
My booking at Travelodge Derry represented great value for money and the location was also ideal as it was within walking distance of all the places I was visiting during my stay.
Owners were so welcoming and made our stay really enjoyable, I would'nt hesitate to recommend the Serendidpity to anyone thinking of staying in Londonderry. None.
The breakfast was good and the Wifi was adequate Its position was not described on the internet, the parking was on a busy street. The room w3as four floors up and no lift and the en suite would have been small for under somebody's stairs.
friendliest b&b we`ve stayed in with very comfy beds for us and our two kids
Friendly. Helpful. Good breakfast. Centrally located. Free wi-fi. They did not accept credit-cards as stated during booking.
Owners very friendly, good location although we didn't realise we were in the heart of the Bogside. Breakfast ok, but not the full Ulster fry I was expecting
The landlord was helpful and friendly. The shower was fantastic. The breakfast was delicious and filling. The room I stayed in was quite tiny. The tea and coffee making supplies in the room were quite scarce.
very friendly, helpfull and relaxing atmosphere.exellent rooms ,comfortable beds, nice decore, modern.breakfast exellent
We loved our stay at Serendipity. The B & B owner was extremely helpful in getting us settled in for our stay. The views over loking the beautiful walled city of Derry were spectacular. The room was cosy and had all the amenities needed. I particular liked the downstairs common living area where you could use the internet and listen to music. The walk into town was all downhill which was great.
Breakfast and having the interent in my room I thought the hotel and grounds needed a complete upgrade. There was a lot of rubbish on the grounds.
The decoration, the oldy worldyness, the UPGRADEto a suite was fantastic. Food very special
Beautiful place with excellent friendly staff. The food and service was wonderful. The facility is rich with history and impressive clientele
The size of the rooms the dining room was to over the top as far as the meals - food was really nice although waiting in the bar area just made you buy a drink when you would not have normally bought one
Ambience - "Old World" charm. Restaurant menus excellent. I like the fact that my breakfast was "served" and cooked on request as opposed to "buffet style"
the rooms were amazin
The atmosphere Not really
The hotel upgraded us to a master suite at no extra cost. We had dinner at the hotel on Saturday evening which was lovely. After the standard of the evening meal we were slightly disappointed in the breakfast. This was on a self service basis and the range on offer was extensive but not as high a standard as the evening meals
The quiet surroundings, beautiful landscaping and the great breakfast.
quiet and convenient hotel for my work, with excellent facilities and great staff. no
Facilitated with early check-in. Very friendly and helpful staff. Nothing
pleasant,,helpful staff, the room was clean, comfortable and modern.decent food and bar areas also.
Friendly and competent staff.
I loved the relaxing atmosphere in the hotel, the pleasant staff, the cleanliness of the rooms, the scrumptious food and the entertaining nightlife. An excellent place to stay for a relaxing weekend. The only reccommendation I would make is that more healthier options be included on the menu.
all the staff were extremly friendly and very helpfull.
Tour of city
Reception staff very welcoming. Restaurant staff excellent. Food very good and buffet breakfast first class.
Room very comfortable and laid out well. Bar very livley and staff were excellent and could not do enough to ensure my stay was enjoyable. This is an excellent well run hotel. Rooms slightly too warm no air con.
Our room was really lovely and much bigger than we had anticipated so great value for money.
Brilliant staff, wonderful atmosphere, fantastic food, very comfortable room. None at all.
We had arrived after an early morning flight and my daughter and her friend were exhausted, we arrived at 9.30 am and the hotel managed to give us a room at that time so that they could have a sleep as they were dancing in a competition later that day in the hotel, I thought this was a fantastic service. None
Comfort and good food none
Location near to places of interest.
Staff were very friendly and efficient. Food was excellent. Rooms very clean and comfortable. Excellent location for quiet get away and not too far from lots of places of interest. Room was double booked. Toilet did not flush correctly and a light was broken in the room.
The staff were very friendly, when I arrived while waiting for my room I was offered a coffee which was brought to me in reception. The manageress of the restaurant was very helpful and the Sunday roast beef lunch was excellent, and indeed was very reasonably priced. I found all the staff extremely friendly and courtious. The location of the hotel was very quiet, and only a mile or so from the Derry airport, with local buses and taxis all available into Derry City. Excellent breakfast.
The reception was very welcoming with a roaring fire and very pleasant and obliging staff. The bathroom, while very clean was pretty basic. The bath was very small and the shower was only adequate. The bath gel was in a bottle fixed to the wall which made it almost impossible to squirt it into the bath. Also I didn't like that the 'double' bed was two single beds pushed together. The ridge down the middle doesn't make for comfortable sleeping.
pleasant room and reception staff Decor- very strange, heavy and dated.Bar staff very unhelpful. Arrived at 9.30 and was told that it was too late to even get a sandwich- had to dine on crisps and peanuts fron £1 machine
Food, people, Rubbish tv reception, 10 mins for shower to get warm, room smelt damp
staff lovely, polite, excellent service, lovely tranquil atmosphere overall enjoyed our stay no fresh drinking water in the room
the bed was very comfortable and clean with friendly staff to help. £13 for a breakfast is far to steep not to mention £10 for a continental brekkie!!
Bed linen soft....adn bed comfortable Carpet badly stained.
I was on my own!!! Yes I requested a non smoking room and was put in a smoking room. Would have liked leisure facilities
calm easy going hotel
It was all right For a superior room I was disappointed
Courteous staff, clean and comfortable room. I liked the little extras like sweets in the room. Nice atmosphere.
The staff's attitude and the the hotel was generally pleasant Tthe only issue I would have with the hotel was the quality and price on the hotel restaurant. The food and wine for the prices was not of a good standard and the serivce for the restaurant not been busy was very slow. The second night we choose to eat away form the hotel.
Well set out room Nothing
very friendly and accomodating staff, complimentary coffee while room was prepared, relaxing lounge areas with open fire, pleasant walk in to Derry city family rooms rather on the tight side
Extremely friendly hostess and all very hospitable. None.
The friendliness Room a little on the small side
Rural setting but within easy reach of derry and gre rural setting but within easy access to derry and ideal for touring area None
The owner of the hotel makes you very welcome and nothing is to much trouble. None
Nice brerakfast and lovely staff, good location. We would definately recommend this motel.
It was quiet with adequate and efficient service for my short stay.Very convenient car parking. Slight aroma of tobacco smoke and kitchen in my room. Window could not be locked in open position. I was in a ground floor room on a very warm, humid night and from a personal security point of view would have wanted the window slightly open but locked.
Good advice re eating out facilities Not able to provide for early morning alarm call to facilitate early checkin at airport
Room heater could have been warmer
Owner extremely friendly, basic but adequate accomodation for the price paid. Brilliant location for the air port nothing
Owner friendly Very basic. Limited facilities
