stayed at this hotel for just one night, my first impression was the friendly atmosphere , the hotel room was warm and inviting, will definitely go back again and stay much longer.enjoyed this hotel very much. I could not say i did not like anything about this hotel as it was first class and good value for money.
Room cold on arrival, had to get maintenance to sort out thermostat on the one radiator (none in Bathroom). Ate in restraint but meal poor, one main course arrived with sauce solidified on top very dry, and service erratic. Breakfast ok but on second day had run out of sausages and had to wait while they cooked up some cocktail sausages..
The hotel was great we were very comfortable, the staff were very nice and friendly. I think they had just got a new manager so enthusiasm was in the air. We even got a toy for our child upon arrival. A happy customer!! Everything was great..
The staff were so friendly and helpful, location is ideal as it's walking distance to everything. Derry is such a fab city. Highly recommend Fitzroys for dinner near the main shopping centre. The hotel was lovely, clean room, no noise, great restaurant onsite. Couldn't ask for better.
Value for money Breakfast was quite a shambles. Huge queues and a table in the middle of the restaurant (a very large tbale that everyone could see) covered in all of the dirty plates/cups etc. this should have been removed to the kitchen and not left on site.
very convenient to other attractions and staff were very helpful breakfast disorganised and hot food bar didn't have enough food for all guests
I loved the two 10oz Steaks and a bottle a wine for £25!!! Brilliant! Even though i know the room was clean there was a small stench of cleaning product in our room.... but it wasn't too bad, but you asked!
live music in bar
the service and helpfulness of the staff
Hotel was clean, in a good location and comfortable. Parking was impossible to find.
rooma was beautiful, staff were lovely and food was great!! the only downside was that our room was a bit cold!
Nothing, very disappointed with the cleanliness of the hotel and in particular my room. I have made a written complaint to Travelodge. See above
My booking at Travelodge Derry represented great value for money and the location was also ideal as it was within walking distance of all the places I was visiting during my stay.
Central position I don't mind basic, but this Travelodge was grubby, very shabby and very noisy til 3am. The cost of overnight parking seemed excessive too. This used to be a pleasant place to stay, but all the quality fittings were either broken or missing. Quite a disappointment.
location, entrance from parking structure; good bed and bathroom we stayed in the Tory Suite; which is also room 107, but it does not say so on the first door to the room, we felt idiotic looking for room 107; staff was unhelpful in this respect; also the lack of direct light from the window made the room claustrophobic; electric lights in the room were not very handy, made reading in bed impossible
size of room We did not sleep a wink. It is situated across from a night club. It was a wednesday night however wasn't quiet til at least 5 in morning. I would never stay again.
location to shopping
easy access to city centre felt the rooms were a bit worse for wear since last i stayed and even after complaining we still had no hot shower after four days
Nothing, It was horrid. Filthy, Smelly Dirty, Uneven bed, smelly, noisy, distorted TV... you name it it was just disgusting. Never book this place!
Centre of Derry so very handy The hotel was not clean
the experience of staying in the bogside!
I was very pleased when I got to Derry city and phoned the B&B for directions, Barry came to meet me and I followed him to the B&B, also Joan was very welcoming and friendly and went out of her way to make us a late breakfast on Sunday morning.
Brilliant hotel and lovely friendly owners. Couldn't be more helpful. We moved to Traveldoge for our second night because we weren't orignally doing two nights and wish I could have stayed another night at the Amore.
Staff welcome friendliness good food comfort ambience A bit overpriced for b&b
The woman who attended us was lovely, she explained us absolutely everything we needed to know about Derry. Also, she was nice when we asked for some coffee the next day for taking out, and she came back with coffee... and pancakes! Room was very good, warm and clean. Just the stairs are a bit noisy.
Barry and Joan (the owners) were extremely kind and hospitable, and very helpful in answering all of our questions about the area. The B&B is right in the heart of the Bogside neighborhood, so if you are interested in the history of the troubles (ie. Bloody Sunday), this is the place to stay. The murals, Museum of Free Derry and memorials are literally a 30 second walk from the front door. The walled city is about a 2 minute walk, as are all the pubs, restaurants and shops you could possibly need. We will definitely stay here again!!!!
Excellent B&B, well well located in the Bogside, friendly and very confortable.
