The hotel facilities and the room are nice and the hotel is very clean. Free parking. It is a bit far from the city centre. No problem if you have a car (the hotel has a free parking) but it can be annoying if you don't. The wireless connection in the hotel was not free - no big deal but rather unusual.
Good hotel, spacious bathroom. Friendly staff.
The staff was great, quiet room, had a very nice stay. too far from centrum to reasonably walk.
That I was able to have diner even at 20.30 in the Bar.
Excelent bar with very good staff. Reception efficient and friendly for both check-in and check-out
Breakfast was excellent! The lack of a fridge in the standard rooms is annoying
The lobby was nice. I wanted to have two days with sauna to relax. You offered the hotel with sauna but I had no saune. Than I found pornojournals in the room.I Asked coming from shower to bring me batteries for the tv guidance- the personal told me to wear clothes and come down myself! No water on the room, no minibar and no sauna!
Very helpful staff, although not too knowledgable about the neighbourhood. It was quite dusty.
Check-in: friendly, professional. Room and bathroom large, spotlessly clean. Breakfast: wonderful, at 12.50 Euro value for money. Free parking is nice. Would stay there again. It is about 45 minutes walking from downtown, and taxis not always available quickly. For us, walking was no problem, but may be for those who prefer to be closer to the touristy part of Maastricht.
very clean and comfortable, nice environment, reasonable price it is too far away from the city centre and there is no supermarket/restaurant nearby, there is a bus which stops in front of the hotel but it only goes every half an hour
Closeness to main square and facilities Restaurant food in the evening is not of a great standard
Location in city center The breakfast on sunday was really crowded
uncomplicated to expensive for what you get
good breakfast, nice reception, excellent location small rooms
Hotel was close and cheap, rooms were comfortable. Two chambermaids walked into our room without knocking !!
Easy to find and park nearby, friendly staff, good breakfast. I think they could supply more in bathroom shampoos etc.
confort and wireless facilities
room had strange smell, very loud noises throughout night, room was dirty, have stayed in better 1* rooms,1 very rude member of staff,no way a 4* let alone 4*deluxe,i even cut my holiday 1 day short because of this place, take your money & custom elsewhere
to have room with one big bed
the food and the easy walk to the shops beds were to hard
It was very convenient location, very central to the shopping area. Great breakfast!
Rooms are really small, it's hard to pass your bed. Just in front of my window there was a disco place, quite laud.I thought it would be worse but I fell asleep with no delay. The pillows are extremely soft, give no support, and the bed very springy, not my preference. Location is perfect, right in the very center of the city. Too small room, pillows, springy bed, disco place by the window.
Nice, close to the center
The location in the centre of Maastricht We were given a room on the top floor (Room 28, I think) Going up the stairs there was a strange smell which got stronger the higher I climbed. The room was very dark with a roof window and quite airless. If the window was opened the bed would have been soaked by the rain. The strange smell was very strong in the room. I immediately decided because of the smell and the lack of windows (it was like being in a prison cell) that I was not staying in that room. We received a refund and immediately left the hotel. It was extremely difficult to secure another hotel for the two nights, but anything was better than sleeping in that smelly airless room.
right down town, very friendly staff. the shower
The helpfullness of the staff when we had a problem with the room.
Convenience, informality, and the buffet breakfast! No switch on my bedside light.
good location (in the city centre) expensive
Both staff and especially the food were 100% fantastic the rooms were tiny without space to move-no beverages in the rooms/ room service/phone. Good place if you only want a place to crash for a few days but not suitable for an actual holiday
Nice clean rooms. Excellent staff. Great location.
Friendly staff- excellent central location but quiet. Charges for extras- parking ,internet and breakfast very steep.
The view from the dining room window and the two lovely ladies who ensured we had the best "seat in the house" every morning!
Very central. Very friendly staff.
The location is unbeatable. Staff was friendly. Room always seemed to be thoroughly cleaned. We thought it was odd that there were no face cloths in the bathroom, just paper towels.
Very convenient. Easy to get to, on the main square and within range of many restaurants and shops. Maastricht is a very interesting town and there is a lot to see. The staff is friendly and helpful and the hotel is definitely unique The first room we were shown was very small and dark. We upgraded for E20 per night to a larger room which was (unfortunately) facing the main square and noisy. The lighting in all rooms is not very good--we found it difficult to read.
the room was clean, comfortable and had a balcony also very good central locationm in the city it would be nice to have tea and coffee making facilites in the room, rather than just at reception
Breakfast OK, display a bit amateuristic
rooms on plaza very loud at night due to restaurants under windows- windows did not seal well
Friendly and helpfull staff. Big room and quiet. We liked the old world charm of the building and the marlbe decore. It was hot at the time (the hotel is not airconditioned) and the staff installed for us an oscillating fan. No
Breakfast is not great.
Yes it was sufficient, the hotel is in a great, very convenient location. The breakfast was great and the lady who served it was lovely! The beds were comfortable. My room was on the street side it was very noisy which made my jet lag last longer than it should have, but I was moved thankfully. Some of the concierges (a younger fellow) didn't know much about the city, they should know everything there is to know about Maastricht, Cleaning service should remove dirty coffee/wine cups every day.
Central loacation was very useful to us because we were there to do business at Jaansen Nautique. We loved the view of the river and town.Very pleasant room, comfortable beds, especially nice bathroom. Helpful staff. The on-line booking price was very reasonable. There was wifi advertised and that was one reason for booking the hotel. It actually did not work in our room nor in the lobby. Even a hardwire connection did not work. We were unable to access the internet and that was dissappointing.
well positioned by river and convenient for all parts of the town on foot Very comfortable bed Excellent breakfast Parking (at extra cost) was very convenient and secure
The hotel is beautiful and the staff are very friendly.
we were in an apartment just opposite town hall so it was very central since the apartment is not part of the hotel and is a few minutes walk away, cleanliness is an issue. floors and dishes were not clean.
Even though your e-mail confirmed that there was no extra charge for our 8 years old child - John at reception denied that you contacted him and charged extra.
Reception is not situated next to the entrance and it gives you the feeling they don'y notice who comes into the hotel. Hotel room was small, clean, but value for money was poor. Furthermore, the area is close to the Markt, but strange people hang around the street, lot of foreign cars (drug tourists?).
location and pleasant staff lights in hotelroom were not enough
Its Location was good Hotel room needs a little modernizing
The hotel was well located for us and the hotel rooms were nicely decorated and comfortable. As we were in Maastricht to enrol our daughter into the university, the internet was an important part of the reason we chose this hotel. Not having internet was an inconvenience to us. Also, the stairs were steep and a lift would have been useful.
Hotel rooms were of good size and clean breakfast was expensive and average
Excellent location, being good for both the city centre and the train station. Good bar and restaurant. Standard of the deluxe room was good. Bonus was the hotel swimming pool. Reception area is a little on the shabby side (although the other common areas are reasonable).
Staff always pleasant - food good Only one english TV channel and old style TVs that you get interference from your phone on every few minutes
Room was excellent - nicely appointed and very comfortable. The restaurant was empty - was this a piblic statement or because of the atrocious weather? Limited menu.
Proximity of the train station no value for the money. Too much noice from the bus station. Outdated room interior.
Dinner and the excellent service Checking out was difficult as the noon deadline was not flexible. My wife had to clear out and wait elsewhere for me to return from my meeting.
The ability to enjoy some peace and quiet - I slept well after a nerve-wracking previous month! Probably the requirement to pay at the end. No free rooms, damn it!
Comfortable bed, good bathroom, fully equipped bedroom (bureau, wardrobe, lounge chairs, tea & coffee etc) - all I would expect in a hotel room. Decor is minimal but functionality is complete. Quiet decor - no self-conscious tacky "designer" rubbish that one sees too often these days. Ideal location for train, city centre and business. Warm, friendly, helpful staff. This is a place where one can rest or work in comfort. I have stayed here before and will stay here again. This time I was here on business but my wife also joined me, and is full of praise for the place. What's not to like? (Note for below questions: I have not read the guest reviews but there is no "Don't know" response button. So I have put "Yes".) In "reason for choosing", I would pick all of them, so have entered "other".
The location was very convenient botht to the main railway station and the town center. Parking facilities were good and the hotel was esy to locate. The room was equipped with a refrigerator for personal use. Rather inefficient. We waited for several hours for room service to dry clothes. Later we were dealy 20 mins. since we could not exit the underground carpark. The breakfast is extremely expensive. The room lacked storage for clothes. There were a few draws but no cupboards with shelves to allow you to unpack for a longer stay.
Location, parking lot, rooms were comfortable enough Rooms and rest of the hotel were not really in-line with eachother. Rooms surprisingly updated, rest of the hotel was slightly out-dated
Spacious room, comfortable 2m long beds Frequency of nearby public transport (bus 51) dropped from 30 min to 1 hour service after ca 9pm.
The friendly staff and the pool table. There was no swimming pool and the work out room was very small.
I booked two nights on line and was charged 62-30 euros per night & when I decided to stay another night which I asked for on first day of stay .so when I came to check out they charged me 79 euros for the extra night which I found a little steep!
The cleanness and friendly staff. Also the free bus shuffle to town and the taxi deal was brilliant for going to town and back
The service was excellent. The aircon in the room was too noisy and not working so well.
The location of the hotel was in accoradance to my needs. The unfriendly hotel personel at the reception desk.
We liked everything; lovely room, great staff, ample facilities, safe / secure location and a great breakfast choice. [Please mail me the guide to other Golden Tulip hotels]. Nothing to dislike.
Friendliness of reception staff The hotel advertises pay for view TV this wasnt working in my room but I didnt speak to reception about this.
Breakfast. Above all, decoration.
We really enjoyed the breakfast, especially during the weekend Disappointed with the service at front desk, had to ask 3 times if our rooms could be on the same floor before she said yes; wanted to charge us breakfast for the children even though our bookings said it was free for them,; booked taxi and it was a group taxi with 15 people in it, so I arrived late at my meeting.
good location, nice and clean. room was very small - large bed, so not much space around it!
The lobby was very comfortable and the staff was very accommodating. The room was somewhat crowded with furniture and decoration items. More room to open up large suitcase is needed.
Wonderful, cosy, very unusual, friendly family like atmosphere. Everybody is smiling. I have not had such great hotel experience in a long time. Perfect breakfast, with wide selection of food and beverages. Lots of small, friendly and very hospitable ideas. We came from Belgium after two days - what a contrast. Don't ask me about Belgian hospitability... Nothing. I beg the hotel management and staff: please continue to do what you are doing for long! :))
the soup as we arrived The lighting in the room is very poor and the bathroom fixures are adjusted for tall people, which makes it hard for shorter people to use comfortably
The manner of sitting togehter on long tables at breakfast. Warm soup. mattres was far to smoth
Nice bathroom and very reasonable bed. Located 1 minute from the train station and in the city center. Medium size room, which was really too small. Wonder how a small room looks like. Room was almost empty with a very cold atmosphere. Lift was slow and service so-so.
The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. The table setting for breakfast was like a youth hostel. One long table with chairs very close to each other. It was absolutely uncomfortable.
comfortable room, large bathroom, very good breakfast, easy parking no coffee maker in the room, staff a little bit unpleasant
clean, contemporary hotel. Close to station. Friendly staff. Price was within my budget. There was construction going on while I was there and the room felt like it was completed the day before because you could still smell the fresh wood.
Quirky, idiosynchratic hotel with a unique ambiance. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Very close to the station and near the city centre. The vending machine was out of order during the two days of our stay. Lack of toilet rolls. No bedside table.
The best things was the room which was very minimal but very cosy and the location. The breakfast was pretty basic.
bed was very high qulity the reception is anawailable in the evening and in the moring - as a result < I did not properly checked out, need to call a hotel o ensure that evrything was o key and to ask them to send a confirmation of my payment
The maid was very friendly. They would not take a credit card; we had to pay in cash. The bathroom shower was a bit moldy, and there wasn't always hot water. The voices of owner/manager in office below our room was VERY LOUD.
The modern design of the hotel and the central location in Maastricht Check-inn from 12hrs untill 15hrs was a bit short, but we we're told in advance
value for money, middle of the centre of Maastricht and the room was very comfortable. Okay there is no bar but there more then enough bars in the area!
hotel rooms in design. position was excellent. l'occitante products
The hotel position is perfect
Partly business, partly leisure.
breakfast should be better
The location was prime and the design very unique. Shower and sink were directly in room; we were girlfriends sharing a room so there was a lack of privacy for us during our howers
Excellent location in the heart of Maastricht with its cobblestone streets, Roman walls and old buildings - and right near great shopping and cafes! A car is not needed here. The hotel is simple but full of old world charm. Great value for money - a lovely old building, clean rooms, and comfortable beds. I have no complaints for the value price we paid for the room (on a weekday) - except that a kettle with tea and coffee sachets would have been nice in the morning ;-)
The room size was fantastic (front facing, 3rd floor), really spacious, nice bath room & a terrific location; the oldest quarter of Maastricht yet within easy walking distance of the city center, plenty of restaurants & cafes near by The stairs up were a bit steep & narrow, but we already knew this in advance
Lovely hotel in a wonderful and central location. Very spacious room and a good buffet breakfast.
characteristic spot; good service
Huge room with modern conveniences in lovely old building in the middle of the historic city.
The charm of the hotel, the combination of the gallery and hotel. Beautiful breakfast chapel, very comfortable rooms, agreeable host. Great location as well. During the night there was a noise outside (we assume an airco of the neighbours). It was really loud so we did not have a good night of sleep. A bit unfortunate for the hotel because it was clearly something in the neighbourhood.
Our room was very spacious and tastefully furnished and decorated. Excellent location in a quiet street, very near the centre of Maastricht. Very friendly and helpful owners. Lugging our suitcases up all the stairs (our room was on the 4th floor) because there is no lift.
located very close to the center
Location of the hotel is just perfect. Large room, very clean and nicely decorated. Quite and relax. Nice people. Don't expect conventional hotel reception, it's different but real cool. Parking around is really not easy. The pay parkings are a bit far and in all the streets around you need to pay (don't miss it for a minut you get a penalty right away!!). No lift to uper floors.
It was right in the center The room itself, old furniture, outdated, etc.
Extremely beautiful hotel. Helpful and friendly staff.
Location To much noise from breakfeast area in the room
The view from the hotel was amazing
Great (&fast & efficient) reception & welcome; parking excellent; room comfy & cosy None
The location of the hotel
the people were most accomodating. Excellent service and a wonderful attitude ! in general, hotels in Europe are quite expensive in comparison to US hotels.
Location to town centre Cost of internet too high. Many hotels now offer free internet access
The bed and bath was fabulous! Our room wasn't ready when we arrived.
Excellent location. Clean rooms. Good quality shampoo etc. Not very good value for money. The hotel is fine, but overpriced. I found the bedsheets to be tough. Bathroom could do with an upgrade. For this price I don't expect a loose toilet seat.
it is location .. close to city center .. and it is breakfast buffet very good ..
good size room and great location. room had a lounge area and fridge with tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast not available until 8.30 which was a problem as I was on a business trip. bed was a little small if 2 people were sharing but great for 1!
Nothing. The disco opposite to the hotel was so noisy that I didn't sleep half of the night. The bed was too short and old (pit in the middle). Decoration was dated, remote control not working. Rooms were gloomy. And lthe last downside: the hotel offers no breakfast.
Le Virage is in a great location - convenient to everything in the old part of the city. The price was acceptable for the size of the apartment, and the lack of hotel staff. Breakfast at the Bishop's Mill was a plus - great place and convenient. The location, though great, is deceiving. It looks like a quiet and tranquil place, but in fact is very noisy until well after midnight. With all the street noise, it was difficult to get any sleep until about 3 a.m. I would also recommend that the Bishop's Mill be informed of guests who will be having breakfast there. We showed up on Sunday at 0830, and they were closed. A delivery man informed one of the bakers that we were outside and he let us in, but we nearly left since the notice on the door stated that they would not open until 1100 on Sundays.
Breakfast was good; very nice and helpful staff; room was clean and quite large which made me feel like i'm in a house and not hotel (nice feeling) Beware that some rooms are in the second building across the road (10 meters apart) and for some people it might be inconvenient. Personally, we didn't have problem with that
The staff were very helpful and the small touches were lovely - fresh fruit and cakes in the lobby were very nice. The breakfast selection was good. The location was great and there was lots of information about nearby restaurants. The room we stayed in wasn't quite as clean as it could have been, i dropped something on the floor that rolled under the bed - wasn't very pleasant to say the least!!!
Good location, good breakfast. Was a little bit too cold. No air condition.
Perfect location for visiting Maastricht. Right next to the Saturday flea market.
Breakfast and location of the hotel Reception from the staff was poor and no hospitality, hotelparking was full I should have made a reservation for the parking, no suggestions from the staff, I had to ask for other options to park. Further the minibar : only 2 bottles of water nothing more (if you make advertisement with a minibar than it must be full in my idea.)
Room comfortable and stylish, fabulous evening meal in the restaurant, and excellent breakfast food Very busy at breakfast, felt a bit like a canteen
great breakfast, great position in city. we love the room with a comfortable terrace. almost nothing, only the temperature inside the room at check-in, too much cold. But it is quickly heated.
Good price and very friendly staff Rooms a little bit noisy
The location. And the bed was good. We arrived later Friday. At first we got an awful room. No views and it was as if you were standing in the kitchen itself. After some discussion we got another room which was much better. I don´t understand though that they ask the same rate for such different rooms.
Location is bad. Out of the city with no services (bars, restaurants, etc.) around. The staff was not helpful. The internet is really bad. Take only rooms with breakfast included because it will be impossible to have breakfast close to the hotel.
It is good to reach by car. The breakfast has a lot of choice. The room was old and dirty. You have to pay for the use of extras like wifi, fitness and sauna. The first night our tv was broken and they promised us a new one. The next night we still had the old broken tv which was then, finally, replaced but this one couldnt be switched of the standby. The scrumbled eggs at the breakfast were cold. After we told the waiter, it was solved and new eggs were delivered.
The attitude of the receptionist was not becoming of the warm Spanish reputation of the hotel...
The breakfast was great, lots of fresh products, we even skipped lunch after all. Also the beds and pillows were very good; slept like a baby :-). It was a pity that the room didn't have a bathtub, just a shower was available.
The hotel itself is fine, and the location is great if you need to be cloe to the MECC. The hotel is horribly under-staffed, so the simplest transaction (do you have a pen I could use for a moment?) takes at least 10 minutes. Check-in took 30 minutes because there was only one person on the front desk, apparently even at the busiest times. When I asked if there was an ATM machine close by, the woman at reception answered, "I don't know. I don't use them." When I had to come to obtain a new pass key card because the first didn't work, I had to wait in line (again for over 10 minutes). Once I reached the front, it took 2 seconds to get the new card. If you value time or service, this is certainly not the hotel for you.
quiet yet good location
breakfast and free goodies
convenient hotel, cleanliness, very friendly staff, great food rooms doors are slamming.
Excellent service, comfort, bus connection to city centre, and value
friendly and helpful staff
Cleanliness of the room and design of the room The hotel is actually far away from the centre. On booking.com, it said that it is 10 minutes to the centre, at the front desk said 25 minutes. It was also written that the hotel is right outside the centre, while you have to take the train to get to the town. I changed the hotel and chose a hotel right in the center and enjoyed my stay in Maastricht a lot anyway, despite of the bad experience with NH.
Very professional service and the atmosphere. very quite hotel for good rest The bath/shower could be bigger
Its location is very convenient. The room is comfortable, clean.
The location is perfect for exploring Maastricht on foot. Very pleasant inner court/patio, cooler than the street in July. The parking was hard to navigate to, since almost all streets are OW, some closed off to car traffic.
Located right off the main square. Very tranquil. Best breakfast ever. Rooms are not luxurious for the prices chargEd but location makes up for it. The rooms Interior is more like a B&B. But the entire hotel is a converted house , so I guess they cannot change this n.
Nice, friendly staff, nice room. Website states parking, I expected free parking at the hotel, not parking in parking in another street for 20 euro a day.Website also states wireless. There is a KPM hotspot for which you have to pay, and it is not accessible when staying in a room in the back room. The beds were very uncomfortable, too soft to give any support
The Hastens bed the very noisy a/c in the room.
The design of the hotel
Friendlyness of staff, design more light in the room to read a book, place to write and use laptop
It's location and a very comfortable bed. The modern design of the Hotel meant that there was no dressing table and no wardrobe. The sliding door to the bathroom with it's 24cm gap above the floor seemed strange.
Room on the ground floor with window on an alley were people talk and smoke at night. Really not what you would expect for a "design" and rather expansive hotel. A lot of signature and approbation for every single thing you need in th hotel, very slow and unefficient. Anything above 50 Euro a night is too expensive in my opinion.
The hotel was fine for the (advertised) price and the location was spot on. I booked a compact room at a specific price, when I arrived I was told "we have given you a room upgrade",however when I came to checkout and pay, I was told that the upgrade was not free and I had to pay extra. I never requested or even wanted an upgrade.
the rooms were too expensive for what it was, very small room without any luxurey and I paid €200/night including parking excl. breakfast. I was very dissapointed.
the decor and design the cleanliness
Location, distance to center and parking The room was small (only 1m around the bed) and gave a cramped feeling (no view). Room & Bathroom were clean, but basic, and nothing special. Even though we booked "just" a standard room, we expected more from a design hotel and for that price
The room was nice and the bed was good. I liked tha the windows could be opene, as I'm not a lover of airco The (private) bathroom of this specific (compact) room was across the corridor. You had to move between bed & bathroom with 2 cardkeys. Never have experienced that before!
I liked the proximity to the centre. The breakfasts were very nice. The room size.
The very welcoming staff ; the quality of the room (with the nespresso...); the perfect location in the city center (max 5 minutes' walk from the main squares; 15 minutes walking distance from the railway station, bus station at the feet of the hotel ) ; the charm of the Hotel (old House). A perfect stay !
Nice decor and room arrangements Pricey, difficult to reach, arrangements about the car garage were not clear. Guests of neighbouring room managed to open by mistake our room depsite the door was closed from inside and the key was in the lock-how the managed was difficult to understand. Noisy, from neighbours/other guests and street.
The location of the hotel was very good, close to the centre and to the river. Great having a Nespresso machine in the room. The room was very small (not really good value for money) and a bit cold. The heating system was not functioning properly.
The personal was nice and helpful
The style of the hotel: it's a quite old Dutch house.
The room was cosy and cute. The hotel still has the old house looks of Maastricht. The breakfast buffet and rooms were very nice. A lot of choice to eat and of quality. Check-in and check-out very informal, not hospitable welcome.
Stay here, it's a wonderful hotel with a courteous staff, exceptional staff, wonderful bar and perfect breakfast. Close, protected parking available.
staff at reception were very friendly and very professional. The atmosphere was good; the stairs carpet was beautiful etc. yes: 3rd floor room, no lift [not mentioned on website]; two nearly finished rolls of toilet paper instead of a spare full roll; toiletries were not replenished the second day - and clean towels were just dumped on the wash hand basins; dirty tea cups were replaced, but not the doily under the teacup which hence still had the stain on it of the teabag from the previous day. so, all in all very disappointing as an experience. the other problem was that we could not open the window any further than the small gap - not good; the room was extremely noisy, being opposite a noisy cafe with much traffic stopping and starting. To plug in the laptop I had to unplug the uplighter - hence actually too little light to see anything. there should be spare sockets in a room.
Clean room and quiet (backside). Although in monumental building, there is an elevator. Excellent breakfast. In the heart of the old city
Great location and very friendly staff. Comfortable room. Breakfast was not included and was quite expensive compared to the price of a very similar breakfast on the Vrijthof (main square).
Good location, comfortable room, nice big bath, good internet connection, lovely restaurant. At the weekend, we were served breakfast in a nice, reasonably sized room. However, during the week, we were served breakfast in a small room with a large, loud family.
The room was large, bright and airy. The bathroom was spacious and the shower was powerful.
Old house nicely decorated.
the location - close to the Onze Lieve Vrouweplein and the rest of the city center. Breakfast was charmingly old-fashioned with service at the table. Rooms were a bit cramped as was the bathroom.
Great location. On quiet street near university and Vrithof.
Excellent Location. Very clean. Very helpful staff. Has a lift elevator which was great because we were on the third floor. Nice beds and bathroom. Restaurant was booked for dinner on Saturday night so we would recommend making reservations if you want to eat at the hotel restaurant at night. We were on the third floor room 15 and had an excellent view of the city and steeples of a church close by. Beautiful on Sunday morning when all of the church bells were ringing and echoing throughout the city. We could walk just a few blocks to the square and to excellent shopping. Also walked to the train station for trips. (not with our luggage though, we took a taxi then!).
The location Thje price, including parking and breakfast
The friendly staff, the peaceful ambience, the gorgeous Building, the lovely Courtyard Restaurant, free Wireless Internet which should be a standard for all Hotels, nice room very comfortable and finally the location, just around the corner from De Vrijthof
everything was amazing. I love it! room service and valet parking service too expensive.
nice spacy room with unique interior. Good beds, excellent breakfast Staff was relatively junior for the service standards - compared to many hotels I see accross Europe
It is a magnificent architectural experience. The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff very professional.
Evening meal and attentive bar staff. Amazing hotel experience The breakfast was very, very poor for 24 euro's each. So bad we didn't stay after looking at the offerings
The excellent renovation of the church, keeping the cultural heritage for the City and the people of Maastricht and other visitors. The personnel was very professional and helpful and was thinking of those 'little things' which you normally do not expect. The room in which we stayed was not very well divided: the bathroom too small for two people, the hallway too big, glass doors that were in each other's way, no space around the bed etc etc. A compromise of interior architecture and use of the room which did bring a positive result for the visitor. As we stay and dine a lot with the Oostwegel group, this way a bit of a disappointment for our first visit to Kruisherenhotel.
The design. It's really awesome to see how they build in the church a beautiful design hotel The price for one night stay of € 275 including parking (€ 30) and without breakfast (€ 27 for one person) is much to high for what you get.
Very nice room, decoration of the hotel, nice ambiance, unique hotel as it is a renovated old monastery, walking distance from the city's centre. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Our room was ready when we arrived and were able to check in from 12 instead of 15 which is the official check in time. The baby cot was already in the room, together with baby blankets, towel, baby cleaning staff, etc., which was a nice surprise compared to the service of other hotels with regards to baby cots. One night, we were late to eat at the restaurant and ordered room service. The quality of the room-service food was not at all equal to the standards of everything else in the hotel. I would say more like a fast-food.
We were overwhelmed by the warmth of the welcome. We had seen on Booking.com that the hotel had four stars, but actually it's a five-star hotel, and this was evident from the moment we arrived. The service was superb, the building is a work of art, the rooms were spacious, elegant and very comfortable. The breakfast was lovely. We didn't actually want to leave the hotel to go sight-seeing, we were so happy there. We did go out, of course, but we were glad to be coming back to such a lovely, welcoming place. There is nothing we did not like about this hotel.
The atmosphere of the hotel is unique: modern design that tastefully blends with the old monastery and church. Also, the location is just about perfect: an easy 5 minute walk from the Vrijthof, it is just outside the center. Excellent ambiance for a special occassion or if you are used to comfort and taste. The restaurant is excellent as well, with an amuse-approach that has you spend an extended evening enjoying and talking. In two words: go there!
convenience to the vrijhof, the room was comfortable and clean, staff was very accomodating and friendly For the price, there was no workout facilities or sauna/spa or rooftop terrace where we could look out over the city. Breakfast should have been included with the room rate and there was no option for a la carte for dinner.
