The hotel was very clean we had a huge balcony with a great view. The location is amazing it is located in the center of Madrid . There is a delicious market located directly across from the hotel . The staff was extremely helpful . If I come back to Madrid I would definitely stay here again !!!
Location, location, location & fancy bathroom Heavily stained carpet
location...laptop in the room & the free internet.
petit palace is a great location for cental madrid , great shops and restaurants within minutes walk , awful smell of drains in room 8 , needs better windows , can hear people and traffic outside window
Steps from mercado San Miguel, plaza mayor, night life, Puerta del Sol, museums, the location could not have been better! The staff was extremely friendly, the breakfast had a great variety, and for the cost could not be beat! The shower was awesome, remodeled! We will be returning there at the end of our trip because we enjoyed the hotel and location so much! Rooms were small
Modern hotel in the heart of Madrid. Friendly staff. Walking distance to everything. Great breakfast buffet.
the best was the location of the hotel the horrible smell in the bathroom, real problem of drains in the hotel made the stay in the room not confortable
The staff at the hotel is fantastic. The location is wonderful and everything was very clean The room is very small but when your out it doesn't matter
Location was the only strength of this hotel. The carpets were dirty. There were just enough room for 4 adults. We stayed in a Petit Palace in Barcelona and the room were really spacious and decided to book with the same chain. But this one was way below expectations.
Excellent location. Modern hotel.
location was very centric they advertise that they have parking and they do not. Staff was friendly but did not go above and beyond compared to other hotels during this trip.
We stayed at this hotel for the fourth time, which speaks for itself. We recommended this hotel to our friends and again they were absolutely satisfied. Would we stay at the Petit Palace Mayor Plaza again? Surely!
Very nice design, very central location... ... but they forgot one fundamental: soundproofing! I was literally in my neighbour's shower at 1am, I could hear him brush his teeth, and also go to the toilets (and you definitely don't want to hear your neighbour go to the toilets at 1am...) This is really insufficient - they should have spent a little less on the design and a bit more to improve the thickness of the walls.
Desk staff were exceptionally helpful - for example in obtaining opera tickets which were not generally available, and made helpful and accurate restaurant recommendations. Decore was interesting, provision of breakfast generous. Corridors were noisy at times.
The location, the breakfast included, the concept of thr hotel Everything was great
Location, facilities, ambiance My wife was ill for three days. The staff treated her like family, nothing was too much trouble, and always with a smile. Excellent!!!!!
contemporary design, lovely breakfast with lots of choice, free internet access I would highly recommend this hotel but be careful of pick pockets in the centre of Madrid - warnings in many of the city centre restaurants.
Great service and very friendly staff. The rooms, although a bit small, were quite special and clean. The breakfast buffet is great. Very good value for your money!
This hotel was fabulous. It would have to go down as the best hotel we stayed at in Europe. The decor was funky and modern, it was ultra comfortable, the rooms were comfortable, funky and quiet, the hotel's location was excellent...I can't rave on enough about Room Mate Mario!
good size rooms with original design, very good location!!!!
Location, stylish design and breakfast area Nothing
Fantastic location close to lots of city sights, comfortable, good value for money. Thin walls as you could hear the people in reception but overall great hotel.
The location is more convenient than expected. Though the room and the bath booth are really small, but they are very clean and tidy in gerenal. It´s a good choice if u dun wanna spend much on the hotel, but still want privacy and a private bathroom (need something more than a youth hostel). But there should be more english speaking staff, at least a receptionist. location and cleaniness
Nice and comfortable hostal with very friendly staff A bit too loud in the rooms
i like the location. no english speaking assistant
The Hotel is installed around the Plaza del Sol. Front of to Opera Metro Station. Very good localization ! Too much noise in rooms.
Nice position, very clean
A quiet hotel that is very centrally located. I plan to return. The Internet did not work well.
Excellent location, very clean and well priced. Lack of English by hotel staff, apart from one cleaner they spoke no English.
The Hostal is very clean, very near to downtown and everything there is almost new! Just the noise... But that area is a little bit noisy.
staff went out of their way to help me.
Good location for major attractions and very friendly and helpful staff.
View from bedroom window down into Plaza san Isabel & across to Opera. ~Two minutes from main metro. Good choice of restaruants nearby. Central Shower instead of bath. Little room in bedroom. Inadequate bedside table (no drawer to put small things in. Slippery, dangerous shower cubicle.Shower kept slipping sideways on wall.
Friendly reception staff. Rooms warm and welcoming Pillows could have been better quality
We were staying in Opera hotel for 12 days! The location is very central, Excellent staff, friendly and helpful. room was well equipped and clean. Good beds.Great hotel, We enjoyed every single minute in Madrid. Very modern hotel . The ideal spot to discover Madrid. We like the style of the hotel from insideGood central location, Excellent staff, managed humanly by the professional and kindly Jefe de Recepcion, Mr. Daniel Carus von der Ehe. best regards from ema and shmuel.
The location is really convinient, a few mins walk to the Palace, Plaza de la Sol, Gran Via and Plaza Mayor. The room is really small, some staffs are not too good in English.
Location was excellent - a two minute walk to the Palace and Cathedral and a few more minutes to Plaza de Espana and Gran Via. I would absolutely stay here again when I'm back in Madrid. Staff was very nice and helpful. Oh, free wifi and a large safe in the room were nice to have. Only complaint was that the room was dusty in certain areas.
A totally pleasing experience.
Bitte schreiben Sie mindestens 15 Wörter Absolutely no parking, not even for quick check-in and baggage drop off.
I liked the location of Hotel Opera most of all! It was great, almost next to the royal palace!
central location and efficient rectification of fault with bath / shower, also 24hr reception did not get 4.15am wake up call requested on day of departure
cleanliness the club outside the window and the noise it generated in the early hours of the morning1
Cleanliness Very small cramped room for two people
nothing in particular shower blocked
great location, and liked the funky style of hotel it was a tad noisy, but bearable.
The hotel is very convenientlyu located in the heart of the city. The Hotel has a very nice environment. Hotel was no able to help with an extra bed despite of requesting in on my reservation from and subsequent mails to the reservation department. Staff just did the minimum required to serve customers
The location was excellent. It's right next to the opera which gives you a landmark to find it easily. I don't speak Spanish well so that was very helpful. The staff is Was able to book all my tours and was able to help me with all my questions . My room had two twin beds. It really is too small for two people. They should make it just a single. I ended up using the other bed is a desk. Also it was a little dusty but overall clean. I also asked them to refill the refrigerator but they forgot to which in the end worked out. There's a supermarket right across the street. I was able to buy water and juice there and stored in the refrigerator. I thought they had a gym. But actually it's in their sister hotel around the corner which isn't too far since it's a short walk over, but the machines were not that great.
Conveniently situated. Small size. Quality rather superficial. Breakfast quite poor, hot food not very hot, ran out of certain items. Graffiti on bedroom walls not properly cleaned off. Little things like poor lighting, toiletries impossible to open, no room service.
very friendly staff at the reception contrary to that mentioned on its website, our room was far from soundproof.
ease of parking and access to major roadways good breakfast service lack of free use of PC's with nternet access
Close to the city center. Plaza De Espana is 2 minutes far walking. Internet was not working at all. The receptions told me that it was due to fact that my room was far form the access point..... They suggest me to go outside of my room to use internet...
Front desk staff superb, our room was very comfortable and within walking distance for everything, so we though it was perfrect! We asked for a king or queen bed, non smoking, and got twin beds, the smell of smoke lingered in the air, but I imagine there is not a lot you can do about that. Smell of cigarettes....
Good location Easy Access to city centre and Metro Hotel requires decorating and general upgrade
It was a very warm spell during our stay but the room temperature was quite good. Better than some more modern hotels. The food was disgusting. I eat very, very little of the one evening meal we took - and got food poisoning. I am still unwell, 3 days later.
Excellent location, near Plaza España. I travel with my dog, dog welcome (notified with booking), but very expensive. Garage next door, easy access from the North towards Madrid (i.e. A6). Noticed other people complaining about room, but I got an excellent twin room at the back side of the hotel, so very quiet. Bathroom fine. Breakfast good. Didn't dine here. I spent six days here and found it comfortable enough. The surrounding parks are great when travelling with a dog. Hotel is used by many groups, some can be quite noisy. High cost of dog not notified to me in advance. When I asked about this they told me "But you made your reservation through Internet", as if that should make a difference. Hotel seems to be in need of refurnishing but not to the point that this is annoying. Poor plant on Floor 3 didn't survive neglect of staff, guests must have watered it, but is was too late...
Location. Friendly & helpful staff. Bar was only open on demand and staffed from reception. I would prefer a "breakfast included" deal.
cleanliness no parking
1. Price Old and very run down.
The hotel has a perfect position in the centre (near Teatro Real and other sites), very helpfull and kind staff (even if they doesn't really speak english - communication is ok:-)). Rooms are comfortable, very clean and well equipped (safe, hair dryer, fridge, TV and WiFi).
The room was very nice and beautiful, nicely decorated, probably recently renovated. The lady who owned the establishment was very nice talkative and willing to help. The room was very clean and above of that there was cleaning service everyday. Hostal Luz is situated in the center of Madrid, 5 minute walk to the shopping avenue and Plaza Mayor. I think it is best, especially for couples. The room were we stayed had no view, but that was a minor disadvantage for us because we were around the city all day and night long. Another minor disadvantage was that the room is on the third floor and there is no elevator.
We arrived at 3:00 in the morning (got lost with the car) and could still get in. Location was excellent. Too bad we had 2 single beds
It's very central Staff don't speak English
The place of the hotel The staff is not friendly and want to fool you.
location. Everything was great.
Great location. Small room, but clean and comfortable. Free internet. Breakfast included in price. Staff speaks limited English, but very nice and accomodating. Located on a small street off a main Plaza; a bit difficult to find the first time. Bring a detailed map.
The hotel was very conveniently located just minutes from the Opera metro station, and was near restaurants and shops. The hotel appeared to have been recently renovated and was clean and tidy. The bedroom came equipped with a TV set, refrigerator and safe. Free Internet access was available. Staff are very friendly but speak virtually no English - communication was a little difficult. The hotel is located on the third floor of a building without a lift. Access to the building, hotel and bedroom is by magnetic card, but our cards got demagnetized the first day and had to be replaced. There is one desktop with Internet access but it is only on 0930 to 0130. Wi-Fi access is available but we couldn't get a signal from our bedroom - only from the lobby.
Very helpful staff. Central location but in a quiet neighborhood. Clean comfortable rooms. Excellent value. No CNN or BBC on the television.
It is located directly in the center of the city, only 5minutes away from the Palacio Real,la Opera, la Catedral and del Peurto del Sol. You also receive towels and shower gel and if u wish to the sheets/towels are changed every day and the rooms get cleaned daily. The pictures shown on the internet do not coincide with the actual rooms,at least not if u choose the ones where u have to pay less. the price-performance ratio does not coincide. when u asked the staff about it they behave bad-tempered and rude. And there doesn't exist a kitchen!
good room, friendly staff, localization.
Central location, clean rooms Noisy neighbours, very small single room
Manager changed the room to a cleaner more comfortable one Climbing four flights of stairs...no reception area
Accommodation in Madrid is expensive, esp. if you're travelling on your own and want a room of your own and not a bed in a dorm. At Conchita II you can get a room just for yourself and it costs not that much more than a bed in a hostel. There's also a fridge and a microwave in the room so you can make your own instant coffee or tea, store cold drinks and food. Bathrooms are private and clean. Good for solo travellers that want to a place to sleep if they're not bothered by the noise. The walls are pretty thin and there're always another 3 rooms facing the same courtyard so you hear your neighbours a lot. Mine was watching TV for hours. Internet connection was bad: I only got 34% strength and it was dropping all the time. The so-called 'common areas' were practically unexistant -- it's an apartment consisting of long, labyrinth corridors so you can only sit inside your room - there's not even a lobby or anything like that.
standard, with everything you need. Very comfort for such a budget hostal and good location too: close to underground metro and only few step away from the town. Well, consider myself is a picky person then, you hardly recognize the hostal especially during the night because no big sign at the front and the stair light wasn't turn on all the time (to save energy) they does not change your towel everyday. can't really complaint with such a budget...
It was a bit noisy on the hallway from time to time
The staff were so friendly, particularly Anna. We didn't realise it was more of a backpackers' hostel than a hotel, but as it was only two nights, it didn't matter. Anna was very helpful and the hostel's location could not be bettered.
Very clean hotel and fantastic location. No bad points.
the location of the hotel
The position in Madrid Walls are too thin and you can hear everything that goes on in the nearby rooms and corridors
Easy to go out to take metro and food. Bugs in room. So bad. Two friends were bitten and got rash on the face/neck/hands/legs.
Kindness of the staff. WiFi available. Very centrical 2 steps from Opera square 1st floor just above a bar, open to 2 o'clock with loud music :(. My room had no windows whatsoever :(( , and for a single room with external bathroom, 30 euros with far too expensive. Really
not a very nice place.one does not feel comfortable and safe looks like a hole
Awesome. Awesome hostel (this is not a hotel) if you like fun. By 'fun' I mean, if you like single beds in a double room, cold showers (but only if the water decides to work), beds that smell musty, no bedding, dirty floors, no windows, no fresh air and noisy neighbours. So yeah, its a 'fun' place. See above.
Location Stuff was very isteric, cry out to me all of the times, didn't give me a towel, didn't give me a heater (it was extremly cold in the room during the night). I was waiting about 30 minutes at the entrance of the hostal, while stuff was opening a door for me. Room was very small and without window.
Hostal Berlín has excellent location. Is two minutes walk from tube. My room was modest, but very clean and the price for the room was very cheap. So I will definitely come back.
Great location There was no window in the room and the shower was in the corner of the room, right next to the bed (no toilet)
cheap, central and without any inconvinience
Great location, very close to tourist sites and Metro. No windows in room which meant no natural light or ventilation. Bathroom facilities in twin room means no toilet. Cramped. Towels old and smelly. No hot water. Shared toilet. Dark and grim.
The location was good and the internet was fast. It was a bit miserable being in a room with no windows.
