The hotel is well located and the exterior and central staircase are impressive. Staff were helpful though there was a long queue at check in. Room was functional, but clean and everything worked. Wifi in room is limited to 20 minutes unless you pay for the premium wifi. Furniture and décor is a bit dated.
Polite staff, room was comfortable and clean. Could do with better quality breakfast items. Hotel needs a refurbish. We wanted cocktails but barmaid we couldn't have any
The location The dated feel to the hotel, the lack of light in my room (457) The room smelt fusty, the carpets and walls were stained, the breakfast was of very poor quality. The lifts are not very practical.
Excellent location and very originally nice hotel architecture. Gorgeous stairs The hotel overall full scope maintenance is very poor, looking then at Britannia as a big missed opportunity. Ideal target for "Hotel Impossible" next episode

The staff were good people trying to hold it together It's just old and unkept. The owners need to reinvest in the property.
We paid extra to get a hotel with a window, only to turn up and be out in a tiny twin room with no window. The air con in the room had the control panel hanging off the wall and it was unbearably hot. We asked to be moved to a different twin room with a window, which the staff originally told me they wouldn't do. After some complaining at the reception they eventually moved us but the room was now a double instead of a twin which they'd told us it would be at reception. This room had mould on the wall underneath the window and on the ceiling. For the price of the room I expected much better.
Fantastic location on the end of Canal Street with a close walk to most everything. Very lush and romantic accomodation, nice room service breakfast, lovely toiletries provided (Burt's Bees brand)in the room. Somewhat loud at night, due to being between several pubs/nightclubs...not really a problem but might be if you are a light sleeper
I stayed at this hotel with a work collegue for a conference which was held at the GMEX. The location was great for the conference, train station, shops and bars. The rooms were amazing. The hotel was clean, breakfast was great and the staff were really friendly and helpful.

coffee/fizz brought to our room on arrival parking was a good 5 minute walk away, no lighting at the dressing table or in the shower cubicle
The rooms were fantastic, I loved the little added touches that made the whole stay even better. The staff were brilliant, even extending breakfast time just for us. Would go back in a shot. Didn't want to leave in the morning. We could hear the tv in the next room early next morning, and also the noise from the back of the bar/hotel where glass bottles were being emptied into the recycling.
Fantastic Hotel in a Fantastic Location.
Great food in the restaurant. Close to the city centre. Very nice and comfortable rooms. Not necessarily a bad thing, but it has to be mentioned that the hotel is located in what is called "Gay Village" by locals. The street is packed with gay bars and the hotel itself seemed to be very gay-friendly as well.
The management made an effort to work the hotel weel. Lights in bathroom were not all working and even if they were its not bright enough. Lift too slow.
The central location is great for shopping and going out at night and a great, friendly bar forms part of the hotel; we were pleasantly surprised to get our first drink free (a nice welcoming touch). The design, cleanliness and comfort in the rooms is exceptional. The attention to detail in the room is also very good; there is everything you want on hand and if it isn't, you are made to feel as though you could ask, as the majority of the hotel staff are friendly, professional and welcoming. Also like the fact that there is a restaurant on site if you don't wish to go out into the city; however, we did not use the restaurant for reasons relayed to the hotel in a feedback letter. Although there was an extensive and varied breakfast menu, the service on the first morning was much to be desired and the staff serving need some customer service training quickly as this let it down - not that anyone was rude, just untrained and unaware - breakfast was good. A different person was serving the second morning and the service was better, however, the food was very undercooked and staff failed to notice anything was wrong, therefore I went hungry. What a shame, as this is the only thing that let it down.
The comfort of the rooms and the warm lovely welcome from all staff who could not do enough to help you! Everything was faultless.
Arriving late just before 10pm, I found the staff very friendly and welcoming. Room was clean and of a good size and check in was fast. A special mention for the guy who checked me out in the morning - fantastic smile. Just what is required to get you motivated for the day! One suggestion I would make is about internet access. Due to arriving late, when I tried to access the internet, I was asked to input network key. As no one was around to ask, I would recommend some kind of information is made available.
really only thing I thought was good, clean room not very friendly, waited a while to be seen to, think the welcome to the hotel should improve.

The location was ideal. The room was poor in lighting, apart from that it was ideal.
Nothing This hotel should not be advertised on Booking.com.There is a pub/nightclub downstairs which was blasting out music until past 3am and we had practically no sleep at all. Appalling.
