We were in town for a long weekend and had an amazing time at the resort. The beach, the spa, the service all five stars. Since every room has a kitchen, the grocery store across the street makes it so convenient. Taking an Uber down to Miami Beach takes 15 minutes so you have the best of everything. Definitely staying there again next trip to Miami. I wish the pool stayed open later but with the ocean right there no worries. Then again none of the hotels pools stay open past dusk, at least on the strip.
There were lots of fitness classes to choose from and the spa area itself was really nice. We ate the breakfast buffet which was good with lots of healthy choices like salmon and capers and steel cut oatmeal. The location on the beach was wonderful. We have stayed at many luxury resorts which were less $ and this one just didn't meet up with those standards. Staff was good but not great. Rooms were nice but not fabulous, you get the picture.... You are really paying a lot for the spa /fitness classes and since that wasn't our main purpose we only took one class so didn't take advantage of this. We did have a massage which was a lot more money than other 5 star hotels we've stayed at, but was good.
This place has history and location. They have done some nice updates to furnishings and the rooms and common areas are spacious. Tiki bar was our favorite. Customer service was polite but seemed to be disorganzied and advantageous. We had issues both with check in and check out. We paid for a deluxe room and was given a less then standard room. The upgrades are minimal to the room and in need of new paint and trim. Room smelled musty. Bathroom counter was stained, the one blanket in the room was old and crusty feeling. Was very disappointed in lack of furnishings in our room, poor use of space. As well as the noise. Tweens and teens were running and laughing up and down the halls at all hours. We called security. Still no change. Had to turn on music as a distraction to sleep. Noise did not stop till almost 3am. Also there was a 3 inch space between our door and threshold and we could hear everything. Worst night sleep ever. I hope they get some money to become what they could be and all I am sure they want to be. Highly suggest they do some two tone painting on the main structure to create some depth to the architectural details around the window, a large mural on the wall to the farthest right of the pool. A concrete stain to the patio area would be a great upgrade as well.
I just like the view but i had to pay extra for it. Over charges, hotel fee, pool fee, beach fee. For everything they have a fee. One of the worst customer service. The sink was cloak and call for to fix, that happend the very first hour we got to the hotel, by check out the sink was not uncloak yet, and we last 3 days 2 nights.
The view from our hotel room was spectacular, right in front of the ocean Very long wait to check in AND out
The staff was awesome. We wanted a "street view". We got a nice view of the roof. A lot of broken glass & sludge to look at. In order to take a shower we had to lodge 1 of the complimentary shampoo bottles in the drain. We are only 5'5" in height & our feet hung off the bed while laying down. No blankets. Had to ask for them. The towels, bed sheets & the blankets didn't smell clean at all. The restrooms in the lobby smelled like someone cleaned with a dirty rag. Being a historical hotel, one would think it would be well taken care of.
The bed was comfortable\ I liked the indoor bar Waterview was good Shower was small and lacked basic amenities
Right on the beach.. Big plus Misleading...extra charges for everything $19 for breakfast $30 each day for parking $25 a day for resort services.. Rooms very dirty.. Will never go there again and would not recommend it to my worst enemy..!!!
No blankets on beds, costs $30 per night to park your car off site. Rooms are very run down. Nothing is maintained like it should be. Don't waste your money here.
I liked how close the beach was to the hotel I didn't like how when I arrived to the hotel, my boyfriend and I checked in and the room that was given to us was a double queen bedroom. On the site I booked the room from, it has the option on a double queen or single king bedroom and we weren't offered a choice. We ended up complaining to the front desk about it and they gave us a single King room.
It was conveniently close to stores and other bars. I love the music (jazz) station on one of the TV channels. This hotel has seen better days in its heyday and its living off of the legacy of what it used to be. There weren't any happy hours at the poolside bar. Towel station shuts down at 6 pm. Plus, a none refundable $25.00 resort fee per day. Guess what, I didn't use any of the amenities. This hotel needs a major overhaul and I'm not talking about a fresh coat of paint and a new conforter.
How the cleaning staff took my towel.
Clean, affordable, short walk to the beach The room I reserved was unavailable until the next morning, good thing there was a double bed room until the next morning
everything was good walking up the stairs with all the suite cases
It was quiet but dirty.
The staff were nice and the rooms were clean. The room was in desperate need of renovation. Everything was old and run down.
The curtains didn't cover the light coming from the hall completely. It didn't smell good. The parking lot had pools of water and no cover, so we got wet. Not even a microwave in the room.
The location of the hotel was not bad and access to public transportation to surrounding areas was good. I think I may have gotten bed bug bights during my stay.
It was right across the street from the beach!! You had to pay for parking even though there was plenty of it.
I'm not one to go out of my way to write a review but sometimes it's needed. We had asked for an extra bed around 530 pm, I had spoken to the manager DIRECTLY she seemed very uninterested to help and like it was a bother to ask for it. We got to the hotel around 11 pm and still nothing , it was a mission to get it. They kept saying they couldn't do anything because they were alone and didn't have enough personal to do but somehow after arguing with them we got one. They only give you one sheet for the bed and it is FREEZING in the rooms . I went to the front to get comforter , when I got to the room... Not only was the comforter WET but it also had the BIGGEST piss stain on it. It was the nastiest thing I had ever seen. I spoke to the manager the next day and she said "We'll try to not to make it happen to future customers" Horrible
Clean and affordable
MY HUSBAND AND ENJOYED OUR STAY EVERYTHING IS VERY CONVIENT AND QUIET WILL COME BACK....
The staff was very nice and accomodating It was a motel 6. Not what we thought especially for the price
Pool area was well kept. Rooms were dirty. There were random hairs on the floor of the bathroom. No Iron or hair dryer in the bathroom and very little towels and soaps were provided. They charged $10 for parking per night and even required a $50 security deposit for the rooms as if we were going to rip them apart or something.
Beachfront Easy access good location some of the staff was friendly staff's willingness to help with issues low price 'free' breakfast was ok but not many options had loaner beach towels and beach chairs which was a major plus First day was disastrous because they did not have my reservation in their system, along with about 8 others before and after me. Went through Amoma, although they tried to help, I didn't they were not successful. took me more than 2 hours to finally get my room AFTER MIDNIGHT First room I was given was dirty, bathroom was smelly and tiny, ceiling had either mold or dust. It was not a clean facility, maybe a 2 star simply because of the location and the ability to upgrade to a beach front view with dirty windows. GM, who was on the phone was making things much more difficult for us to get a room. Very thin walls. You can hear everything on the rooms next door and the pools.
It was right across the street from the beach and I picked it because I had some business nearby. The breakfast was continential and in a dark room with no chairs or tables. The beds were very very bad. This place was built in possibly 1930's and it still looks that way with only small changes. The street has many other places not repaired and boarded up.
Across from the beach When my wife and i arrived to check in, we were told we had to wait till 4pm....nowhere in my confirmation email after i booked was any mention of 4 pm check in. There were roaches, I killed 3 in on night. At night there was a group drug addicts that would hang out in front of the hotel, I personally witnessed 1 selling pot to a another person, who later just sat on the front steps of the hotel and smoked it. I asked for a non smoking room and the room itself smelled like an ashtray. The windows looked as though they we going to fall out. Bathroom needs an update. From the outside the hotel had that great art deco look, the interior shouldn't. The hotel should invest on some form of security, for the outside, seeing as the bar offers outside seating & take better care of the pool area.
Customer Service experience was absolutely horrendous.
I liked the location and the affordability. It also included continental breakfast (although with limited options) which was a nice feature. The bathroom looked like it needed some TLC. Also through the air duct you could hear people showering. There were even people smoking somewhere in the hall and/or rooms because I could smell the smoke in my room.
Location, bathroom minus the tub. Standard rooms are decent sized but pretty small. There was more closet space than the room itself. The tub in the bathroom seemed like it wasn't clean. Also, the cleaning lady opened our door a hour earlier after I told the concierge that we wanted a late checkout. Felt as though we were being kicked out. Other than that I enjoyed my stay.
if your motivated you can be standing in the water in under a minute. The bar looked nice but I didn't use it. Staff did a good job. What everyone says. A very dated property that has seen better days. But that why were there, your not spending $350 a night on south beach. That whole area of north beach is run down and needs a complete rehab.
Location Hotel/AC Quality (noisy). I've got a package sent to it and had to go back after check out since I wasn't notified. Had to insist on looking up and the frontdesk kept me waiting a lot for it.
Dirty, smelled, pool was filthy , breakfast consisted of rotten apples and bread to toast. Never again.
cleaness of room, new modern furniture, style of hotel there is a bar at the ground floor open till 2 am.....even the room is full isolated against noise, something you can hear and I think is not a smart choice...
The hotel is not big and for me was what initially caught my attention positively. Excellent accommodation, perfect attendance, hospitality. Ann, Lou, and Sthefany are wonderful people. Free parking next to hotel, wi fi work perfectly. The hotel bar is definitely one of the attractions with good music, food and snacks quality ... Certainly return to this hotel. I recommend to everyone.
The hotel staff was very friendly and super helpful and the rooms were clean, the bathrooms were very spacious and they even had tall showerheads in the shower( excellent touch) will stay here everytime I'm in Miami.
the bartender and the chef both were very nice and made us really welcomed. The HD TV is another plus for this tiny hotel in Miami beach.
Perfect location in Miami Beach, the staff is great
It was a 10 bedroomed hotel and was perfect for being small with good service and food.Anna and Lou who own it are so helpful with tips on the best restaurant. Nothing was too much trouble for them.
We loved the location of The New Hotel and Spa. It was north of South Beach and offered easy access to the beach and authenic latin cuisine all within a stroll. The staff at the hotel was also amazing and very gracious. We had the best beer and pizza at the hotel bar. We would not think twice about visiting again! Thanks New Hotel and Spa!
Proximity to beach and grocery stores, free parking, free wifi, clean rooms, nice kitchenette, friendly staff. Noise from pool bar from 7pm until 2am makes it difficult to sleep, or even relax or watch tv in the rear facing rooms, no spa facilities that the name implies.
Staff was very friendly, free internet. close to the beach, they offer bikes without charges, if you like. We stayed in a quiet, confortable room, definitely would stay again.
very nice rooms, beds very comfortable, nice bar at the pool (discret as well). Free bycicles
Very nice 'euro' hotel/b&b...with a bonus of a fine beer bar and good, reasonably priced food offered on the poolside deck. Beaches, restaurants (try Valentino's 2 blocks away!) nearby. Staff was attentive and helpful
proximity to the beach exterior look, window view, food at the hotel
nothing, it was a horrible nightmare the service was bad, they were so understaffed they didnt have time for us, bathroom was not clean, they messed up my room reservation and gave me a small and horrible room with separate beds, my boyfriend and i couldnt even sleep next to each other!! the tv was so small, the room was hot (weak AC which is controlled by reception not by the occupants!) and sweated all night.
For the price we paid, the rooms were way below standard. Consider it a motel. No hot water and you could hear the people in the other rooms.
I can't think of a thing! Holes in the ceiling in the hallway outside my door. Carpet older than I am (50+) Dank odor Sink in the bathroom sprayed everywhere We left and found another hotel
The spacious room and bathroom, the comfortable beds, the decoration of the hotel, the swimming pool area and the access to the beach. Also the quality of the beach
Beachfront! Terrible facilities in general, the carpets are old, stained and terribly worn down! The room had a good view, but the windows leaked, and it was not in good shape! It really needs an upgrade!
Friendly & helpful staff, clean, nice rooms, good facilities nearby - takeaways, delis, pharmacy, liquor store etc. Nice pool area and its right on the beach - have just got back to work today after the trip and have already recommended it to a friend. a bit far north of south beach etc but it did have good bus links across the road (S route) to south beach & bayside areas.
Nice, large room with whirpool, which we didn't use because the hotel has a swimmingpool and is located directly on the beach. Laptop with free internet conection is available at the lobby at any time. Lots of good restaurants across the street. All busses S, H, K, L drive you for 2 dollars in 20 minutes to South beach. Don't expect a nice view from your room (it's a small hotel). You can't put off the airconditioning, so it can be cooler in the evening - bring some long sleev pijamas with you. At Memorial day (end of may) the hotel was extremly expensive, but I really mean expensive, so avoid booking a hotel if there is a national holiday during your stay.
Hotel very good other then the sun is gone by 1:00 PM blocked by the building next door. Hotel pool with no sun after lunch is not good.
The only thing I like that me went near the hotel to the beach The bath was dirty the hotel no entertainment, too much noise in corridors we Can't rest . you have to pay for park your car separated .I'm not recommend that's hotel.
the free parking next door. they gave us the wrong room at first and it was a very very noisy accomodation. the beach wasn't clean and the pool could use some renewal.
Other than a view stains in the carpet, the room is perfect. Both the room and the bathroom are big and clean. The matrass is in good condition. The pool is perfect and has no time limit. You need a car to visit the comercial zones. The kitchen is a totaly waste of space. It has no equiptment for cooking, completely empty! We had a room in the back of the building. On Sundaymorning (5AM) the garbage containers were emptied which made a terrible noise. We can't blame the hotel, but be aware if you have a room in the back during the weekends.
Great location everything is close by !! Very clean rooms! The beds were so comfortable! ! great place to stay for a day or to and thq staff was great! !
free parking space in front of the hotel
Location and parking space included Noise
Great value with friendly staff; large clean rooms that are updated on the inside. Beds were comfy and the pool was clean. Kind of a cute old highway motel look on the outside. Across the street from a park that leads into the beach. Kind of far from restaurants, about a mile north or south and defiantly in the tamer part of Miami Beach.
The hotel is situated directly at Harding Ave (3Lanes)what is a very busy road where all the traffic from North Miami Beach to South and downtown passes. Windows are simple awning no insulation at all! Very very noisy. AC is an old window type noisy too. Bathroom with loose tiles on the floor. Mostly young people who sleep in the morning and go out very late coming home early morning with a lot of noise..
Front desk guy was friendly. Paid nearly $300 for a dank, humid, musky room.
a little bit far from south beach, however this hotel was confortable, clean, and very cheap !
Very good rate for a nice and big room with kitchen amenities and good bathroom. There were ants in the bathroom and kitchen.
ok, good location, near the beach small room
Beach front location The room service is inexistant. The facilities are in a very bad status.
The only thing good was location The rooms were very old and dirty. If you want a single room you will not see pictures of the rooms on the site. The are very old and musty and in a building next to the main building. The rooms seen on the site do not depict what you will have. We were there two nights without a working a/c in our room. Overall worst hotel experience I have ever had.
The location was the only good part The pictures of the room I booked online had two beds, but when I checked in the room only had one. Of course they were "fully booked" and couldn't give me another room, so they sent a cot (which had blood stains on it)
Great location,great staff,great value
The location is great. Directly on North Beach and quiet. Very good restaurants around the corner. The ladies at the front counter are very rude and not helpful. We booked a room for 4 but only got 2 pillows and 2 bath towels. We were told, that there are no spare pillows in the whole hotel after asking 4 times ... Only one employee that overheard our conversation with the lady on the front counter helped us and found 4 additional pillows! Hotel itself is OK, but old and run down. Would never stay here again!!!!
Great proximity to the ocean and restaurants The power cut off in the hotel half way through the night making the whole place extremely hot and uncomfortable. The hotel is much further from South Beach than expected.
It was right in front of the beach. The rooms are so dirty. The room service does not replace towels and only stretches the bed sheets. The rooms smell awful. The shower is dirty, the bathroom floor is dirty, the sink is disgusting, there is mold on the handle of the sink and mold in the bath. Honesty the room is way over priced for how awful it is. I paid 135$ a night. You're better off spending 20$ extra per night somewhere else. I will never go back to this hotel.
It's basic and was the cheapest I could find that wasn't too far from the rest of Miami Beach. Publix isn't far, not to mention local grocers, restaurants and cafes. Beaches are on part with Middle and South Beach. Fine for just walking across to the beach everyday or using as an affordable base camp if you don't want to be in a hostel. No breakfast, no coffee. Investing in a basic coffee machine for guests isn't that expensive. I personally don't care, but the rooms were pretty worn out and you can't (seemingly) open the windows. I hate air conditioning but had to use it to keep it fresh. These aren't really complaints. My only complaint is the price. For a third the price you can stay in a hostel in mid beach with good breakfast, bar, pool, etc. You are basically just paying for privacy to stay in a lot of the cheaper Art Deco hotels in Miami Beach. They are commonly just maintained to a basic level. The buildings next to this one are deteriorating and one has a notice of violation. OS maintains their neighboring building, but it's not too pretty. Again, I don't care, but you'd think someone would be investing more. Just an observation.
Close to the beach After making a reservation and arriving, I was told rooms were not available. After almost an hour of arguing a room had become available. I asked to see the room, I was told I had to leave my credit card with them to see the room. The room was filthy, humid and disgusting. I came downstairs to tell them I had changed my mind. But they had swiped my card without my consent. This place is not worth the headache.
Nothing to like except walking distance to the beach You have to pay for parking. They show you a picture of the hotel and actually you'll be staying in the building right next to it which is basically falling apart. The restroom are horrible. The sheets have stains.
I booked a room and when I got there they told me they didn't have rooms available and besides that they don't want to refund me my money and I call them and they hang up on me
Main haul way carpeting filthy. Everything. Extremely dirty. Staff was honest and allowed us to cancel with no fee. Website tried not to refund. Rooms to go............after fighting and 3 attempts, several managers, they finally refunded. Do not book through this company.
Cheap and close to the ocean Very thin walls
The Hotel is the worst the only good thing very close to beach. They have roaches, dirty, view of dumpsters that you hear every AM. Terrible smell staff barely speak English. They come all hours of night for you to move car.
Nice room. Enough space. The room was okay but the corridors/halls and public places were very shabby. Although we had asked for a quiet room, we were located at the front side (Collins) and besides that had very noisy neighbours.
It was close to the beach but far from South Beach. It was really cheap for being in Miami Beach area. I would say they try to be secure by locking the main door at 11 p.m. There is 7 Eleven located right next to the hotel so it is really convenient. For some reason they don't have AC in the hallway, which makes it extremely humid and nasty once you step outside of your room. Room was okay, but house keeping was really bad. We stayed for 5 nights and they never came in and cleaned the room--all they did was switch towels and take out the trash. Oh, and they don't provide shampoo which I thought this was really odd. There is another hotel located right next to the window, which made our room really bright even with all the lights off. They didn't put curtains on the window, so if you cannot sleep with lights I don't recommend this hotel.. Also Take a note that there is no pool.
The location of the hotel wasn't too bad and the on site parking was convenient. We were greeted by a receptionist who smelt of alcohol and quite clearly had had a few too many. The hotel seemed to be in the process of being refurbished but it seemed to be a permanent situation rather than a temporary one. Our room was quite dirty. The carpet was severely stained, nothing had been dusted and the glasses in the kitchen cupboard were vile. The room's window opened onto Collins Avenue which was very noisy as the windows were not double glazed.
Free Wifi and Internet Terminal for all guests Rooms generally clean. Price Friendly staff Very dated hotel. Dodgey stains in carpets. Kitchen facilities in rooms are from the 1960s with cooker, fridge etc to match (ie very old).
The hotel met our purposes. It was inexpensive for the location, and there was limited free parking. There had been a reservation mixup, but the clerk handled the problem efficiently. It's not a bad option for visiting Miami Beach without spending a lot of money. Public access to the beach is just a block away. Our room had full kitchen facilities. There was something of an odor in the halls.
cheapest fare for miami beach breakfast should be included
Location Staff is outside for smoking or at phone talk with friends. It is old hotel, smell old and not clean. The parking is too small, it create trouble for guests. Internet is only accessible in the lobby.
Would not recomend to people with kids!!!! It was dirty and uncomfortable!! When you park your car you have to give the car key to the receptionist so they can move it in case somebody else wants to leave... I left my car key and they still woke me up at 4 o'clock in the morning because the receptionist did not have a drivers licence and wasn't able to move my car.... also booked a room with three double beds and when we arrived they claimed that they don't have such rooms..... not a hotel, more like a motel.... would not stay there again definetly You don't get what you see online
Very cozzy and warm reception (Christina). Quiet room, confortable, with a handy refrigerator and microwave. Only three parking spaces. If occupied, the driver has to look around a place in the surrounding streets, a diffificult task at night.
Location, free parking, nearby to good restaurants, price was good value for money, near to beach A little warm in the room at night
The hotel was very clean, no frills, in a great (safe) location. Cristina, the proprietor, was warm, kind, and extremely helpful. Great value for the money. It was very close to the home of the friend I was visiting. It was located on a major street, making public transportation easily accessible, and it was a short walk from the beach.
The Hotel is comfortable and in a good location, value for money.
Scary, disgusting, old, dirty hotel. NOT worth your money. Stay somewhere else.
Near to the beach It was disgusting, so old and scary. The pictures of this hotel are wrong. There are not lobby, you have to use the reception of the next hotel, I tried to call to reception and there was no line at the phone. I went out for a walk and when I came back my room door was openned. Really scary. NEVER AGAIN!
The beach is right in front oh hotel The air conditioner is at the top of ceiling and can not be changed; which made room traly cold!
