Staff was awesome! Already talking about going back
Stayed with husband in August 2013. Resort was clean and beautifully landscaped. Stayed in a Garden veranda suite which was very close to the beach (some road noise, but not much). The room decor was pretty bland, could use some updating. Food was good, but I wished there was more authentic Jamaican food (oxtails, curry goat, etc.). The walk between restaurants is kind of long, but we didn't mind since it was along the beach. Entertainment was nice, but would love one night of energetic dance hall music. They should close the casino since I never saw anyone there are and many of the machines didn't work. The club was lack luster and the piano bar was a bore fest. Favorite part was the catamaran and the snorkeling. The trip to Times Square duty free mall was nice. The staff was very friendly and the drinks were yummy. We didn't have any problems with mosquitoes, just a few flies. The minibar was great, stocked with pretty much whatever you want. Security on the beach (which was beautifu...
Only reason I would not recommend to friends is because there are resorts that have updated facilities and amenities for similar prices.
The resort is beautiful. However, the sand fleas and mosquitos are awful. There were 8 of us in our group. Three of us had bug bites covering our legs from our ankles to our knees and the others had at lease a handful. We could not pin point when we got them but it made the rest of the trip a little miserable. My husband thinks they were in our room. We stayed in an atrium suite. It is a little annoying because there is no glass behind the shutters on half the room. During the day the staff comes in and opens all the shutters letting out all the cool air. They will come and shut them when they turn down the bed but if you come back in the meantime and wants some privacy you have to go around and shut them all.
We went to Jamaica expecting relaxation, and that is exactly what we got. Booked a Premiere Beachfront Suite (the only real bonus here was that we had a wraparound porch on ground level on the beachfront, any room looked beautiful there), which was open and clean. Had an incident about 4 days in where the ceiling started pouring water onto the bed, but fortunately we were in the room and able to save our things. We were promptly moved rooms and they gave us a free couples massage! Minor tip: book the free amenities early (sit-down restaurants, glass-bottom boat tour, etc) because they fill up fast! The staff was friendly and everyone seemed to genuinely have the Jamaican carefree spirit. Nothing like seeing the guy picking up trash singing happily at the top of his lungs, just because.
Entertainment was excellent, rooms were nice, resort was gorgeous. It is mostly quiet. Age range from 25-55 with most in their 30's. Staff interest varies with most being interested in decent service.
Could not have been better will go again.................................................................................................
I can't sing enough praises about Couples Swept Away!! Even when first arriving in the airport, we were treated like royalty. The Jamaican people have the most amazing customer service I have ever experienced. There is entertainment nightly, the food is fabulous, and drinks are on the house ;) We were certified in open water scuba with the resort dive team and they were so wonderful (thanks guys!!) I have already recommended this vacation to many relatives and co-workers and I would encourage anyone who is up for some adventure or just looking to hang out on the beach to give Couples a try!
This is a great resort for Couples of all ages, especially if you are active. The included activities are really what pays for itself, so make sure you do as much as you can! Food is top notch for an All Inclusive, and the beach HAS to be one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. For a more detailed review, check out my reviews on Trip Advisor!
It was absolutely beautiful, and was worth it for the money!! People were great, food was great and staff was great!!!
Couples Swept Away was truly a magical place to stay! It was as if it was set down in the middle of a remote jungle, yet had all the amenities of a high end resort. The service was impeccable from all the staff, from the moment we arrived at the airport to the time we left. Most of the entertainment was great! Lots of talented singers! There was always something fun to do, or you can do nothing but lay on the beach if you choose (which is what we did most of the time.) If you want to eat at Feathers or Lemongrass, make your reservations as soon as you arrive. They fill up fast! Also, if you want to get a shady spot on the beach, set your alarm VERY early to save a spot and put your towels out on a chair. We were there for five days and never quite got up early enough to get a shady cabana:^( We will definitely be back to Couples Swept Away!!!
Very good all inclusive resort where even scuba dives are included! Food is good. Staff very friendly and helpful. It's was my third time here and I will be back.
I attended a wedding at this hotel knowing the wedding guests were required to pay a $70.00 fee if they came early and intended to have free roaming privileges 2 hours before and until the end of the wedding but assuming if not, the fee was not required. I reviewed the website the day after the wedding and saw the FAQ for weddings at this hotel included this: Is there a cost for guests not staying on property, to attend the ceremony? We wish to advise you that as our valued in-house wedding guests, your non-residential guests attending your wedding may arrive at the resort thirty (30) minutes prior to the start of your wedding ceremony. We require that they stay within the immediate area of the wedding at all times. As a policy, only resident guests are allowed on the guest floors. We do ask that that they come to the resort already dressed for your wedding however, should any of your guests wish to change for the wedding, the resort offers a hospitality area for that purpose. My husband and I just got back from a week at the sunset. It was very beautiful. A small resort compared to the ones we've been to before...which we liked. If I had to say anything negative at all it would just be our room and the fact that they only have 2 restaurants. Our room was nice and was at a good location, but our shower didn't drain and our air didn't work until the end of our trip. We did tell the front desk and our air was fixed but not the shower, it needed more detail work. I'm sure we could of switched rooms but we didn't. We stayed in 412. We LOVEJamaica. Everyone is so friendly. The beach was great even tho it was across the street. Very beautiful grounds. Defiantly worth the trip.
Sunset is a great place to stay. Randy 'John Wayne' Taxi out front is the way to go. We upgraded to the two story suite and it was worth every dollar. Only downside is the beach is across the street and they do not have Red Stripe in the room. The grounds of the hotel are gorgeous. Sunsets at the beach are amazing.
Great food! The most wonderful staff! Everything you look for in a romantic vacation spot!
My husband and I stayed here 2 years ago. We were looking for a quiet get away and that is what we got. There was not a ton of entertainment at night but the bartenders made it fun! (stay away from the Bob Marley shots) Garth was the best bartender and look for 'John Wayne' outside by the road, he was the cab driver we used all week, if you go here, tell them Mark and Holli from Texas said Hi!
Room was spacious there were to double sized beds there was a flat screen with a couple good channels. its on the cliff side so you can stand and look out at the ocean good scenery for couples. There was an ac in the room but they wanted to charge 20 dollars extra to use it the beds were hard. The food was $16 a plate i am originally from jamaica you can get a large plate of food for $4 dollars up the road. The staff treat you different based on your skin tone. There were no wash clothes or soap good thing we brought our own. This place is far from dream weekend activities so if you go for ATI I STRONGLY DONT RECOMMEND. All in all if you have the money to waste this is for you but you can do better trust me. Also they take 100 dollar deposit when you get there.
cliff diving, beautiful nature,
The price was right, the room had a/c, access to Samsara (far better than Legends) No fridge, dead bees in the pool, mosquitoes and cockroaches in the room, no wi-fi in the room, guys sitting outside the property harassing guests to take trips, buy stuff or take taxis. Loud music blasting on the beach and guys walking up and down yelling party information through a megaphone
everthing very clean, staff super friendly perfect
Air conditioning Friendly staff Buffet was not self serve Coffee wasn't complimentary Wifi was only at the restaurant. No access in rooms
Did not like the constant harassment of the natives along the beach. Some of the thing that these people were saying was quite uncomfortable and unpleasant to hear. did not kike the constant smell of marijuana. The rooms need updating and the room we stayed in need painting and the bathroom needed fixing. The other extra fees that had to be paid when we arrived need to be made known when you are booking on line. The front desk staff was most helpful. The young lady that looked after our room did a excellent job to make us comfortable.her name is Norma.
I like the staff was very nice ,best beach ever Shower water was a bit slow to start with
I thought I booked a hotel with 4* rating. This hotel does not even come close to that. Yes the owner was a good man. He had some friendly staff who did what they could. But they were lacking everything. Well it is Jamaica. So what can I expect. There was no shampoo, conditioner or soap. The a/c did work but took a long time for the room to cool.
Tree House is a lovely place on the most beautiful beach in Jamaica. The staff is welcoming and kind, without being pandering. The rooms clean and adequate. I loved the fact that the place is not all-inclusive. There are taxis always available and we had fantastic meals in Negril. Also, this is the best value on the island.
tHIS IS OUR FOURTH STAY AND IT ONLY GETS BETTER. yOGA ON A PADDLEBOARD. jAMAICANS ARE THE BEST AND THE BEST WAY TO ENJOY jAMAICA IS STAYING AT THE tREEHOUSE. Very relaxing.
Treehouse resort has it all! I would surely stay there again. We enjoyed delicious breakfasts full of options/ jamaican dishes, a very comfortable (albeit small) well-equipped room- and to my delight- an outdoor rope chair for each room. The bed was quite cozy and the room A/C as frigid as you'd want to make it! I thought I would be disappointed with a "garden view" room opposed to ocean view- but the garden and grounds are so lovely and well kept, it was like being in the jungle right next to the beach! I especially loved waking up to groomed sand and well-kept beach loungers that are set out each morning. The staff were friendly and not overbearing, however it is diffucult sometimes to know who actually works there vs. who "says" they work there... I am not a well seasoned international traveler, with this being my first trip out of the US. Admittedly, it took me many days to acclimate to the Jamaican way of "sales". I am used to approaching someone/a business for a service when I'm interested in it, but here, as with all other places I visited in Negril, the service providers chronically approached me and I needed to interact and politely decline, each day. This went for taxi, massage services, the restaurant, the gift shop, etc.
atmosphere, comfort, ease of access to the beaches and the relaxing, calming attitude of every body I found that the $ll.00 per day along with the $9.08 a day rather much, as patrons are expected to tip the staff (who more than earn the tips)
I liked the breakfast, the grounds are well maintained, staff are pleasant, resort is sizable, some amenities and activities are free including yoga and paddle boarding. Location is at the far end of the beach before the all inclusives start, so a little quieter than mid-beach. I didn't like that Kayak.com did not allow any space to enter a preference about the room I wanted. Kayak.com needs to have a note space to enter requests/preferences about a reservation. I called Kayak.com afterwards to note the request on my reservation but (surprise!) the request was never received by the hotel. This was the second time but also the last time that I book with Kayak.
Breakfast was included in the price which was nice. We ate one evening meal at the treehouse and thought the food was fair
The room was very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast options were very limited. However, the food that was served waas very good.
I liked the Tree House because of the great customer service as well as the great beach front location.
Suite was very hot. Bedroom was hot the first night but the a/c cooled it down enough the rest of the time. Shower water pressure was terrible, hard to wash soap out. Didn't want to deal with changing rooms though. Overall everything was great though.
Comfort of beds, nice pool Staff was friendly for the most part but I didn't get that family oriented feeling like I've had in other hotels in Jamaica. Doors in rooms were dirty, door to balcony would not shut properly and locked from the outside - staff had to come in and change the door knobs as they were put on the wrong way, mirror in bathroom was put on wall in an odd place - hard to look in mirror, poor lighting in room when you are trying to get ready, breakfast meal is not worth the money of $11 daily. There were not many food options and they give you very little food. Seemed like the food staff people in the morning serving the food were always in a bad mood. The ladies walking around in the restaurant were very nice and friendly. Had dinner there twice and was definitely NOT impressed! We were only given one room key which is a pain if you are sharing a room with more that one person. The beach is tiny and very hard to find any shade - too hard to shield from the sun. A taxi guy sitting in the hotel lobby tried to charge us more than double the fare to go down the road! Over all Traveller's is an OK place to stay but I won't be back.
