its a 4star hotel. good! good! prices of food at resto, but understandable, its 4 star
Breakfast is amazing!
Great restaurant "De Fem Stuer" The hotel building in Dragon Style is a feast for the eyes, and what is inside is good too. Right outside from the parking a one hour hike to Frogner seteren begins (for working off the calories). The bar is not well stocked with wine; however, the restaurant is.
We've got a nice view as requested, excellent breakfast. The bus (1B) connection from the train station to the hotel was very poor. It was rarely on time. Even worse, the bus usually left before the train arrived. That means the passengers have to wait for the next bus. There was one day that we and the other guests of the hotel were waiting for a bus in the rain for more than half an hour. ... To improve this, during the construction of the railway, the hotel should have provided a shuttle bus service to pick up their guests at the last stop of the train line 1. That would make this hotel even more attractive...
the place has a something special about it, fairy tail style part of the hotel (used as a conference centre) is really different from usual modern hotels. It has spa, which is good after you came back from Sking (just 10 min drive). Beautiful panorama of Oslo City is open to see from mostly any open side of the hotel. It was not possible to get any !!!!! food after 10pm, as everything except bar was closed already. we were coming late and didn't even got chance to get bread and butter.
The servant at the dinner was very, very good! The meal was also very good! It took more than one hour to receive the main course..
Very attractive facility with a magnificent view of Oslo and the surrounding countryside. Ample beakfast. Free internet. The restaurant is very attractive but the food was oversalted to the point of being inedible. Although we checked in just before 3 pm, our room wasn't ready.
Look of the hotel, views from the hotel, helpfull staff (we got an excellent recommendation for a restaurant) I requested a double non-smoking room upon reservation. At hotel they gave me a twin room at first. We I didn't accept, I got a double room. But non-smoking wasn't available anymore.
We were camping and were looking for a nice alternative in Oslo due to bad weather. The Holmenkollen Park Hotel Rica was an excellent choice. We liked the building style of the central part of the hotel (the extension building with the hotel rooms is a normal building) and the magnificent view overlooking Oslo Fjord from the hotel room. The breakfast buffet offered a wide range of different styles of breakfast and should make everybody happy. Holmenkollen subway station is nearby (10min walk down the hill), so the hotel can be easily reached from the city centre. At the time of our stay (August 2009) the subway track was being upgraded and there was no service to Holmenkollen station, but there were high frequency bus replacement services.
The quite time away of the city. The ten minutes walk from the bus stop. The add did not specify that rooms with view are extra. I would have paid more for the excellent view.
Quality of The hotel: new, design, beautiful, fireplace in The lobby! The breakfast is amazing They lie on their website: The say Its next to The subway, but The subway is on maintenance for 1 year! Youll need 45 min to go to The city (walk, bus, ...). The pool is not working, another lie ! My girlfriend was sick, i ordered in the room some simple food and they charged us 75euros for a single meal, without bread and water!!! Not acceptable. It could be a very good hotel, but they really need to improve the very bad service at The reception and stop lying! Oh, there is no tv in The room.
Beautiful surroundings; close to the forest ( Nordmarka).Lovely old buildings, and nice (but small) room; furnished in an old fashion, romantic style. Very good breakfast, with varied selections. Good value for money. Strong smell of paint in the room ( newly decorated ? ). Unfriendly personal ( one person) in the breakfast room.
Staff very helpful and friendly, good breakfast. Nearly alpine ambiance, at only half an hour from Oslo. The metro service to the area did not work (due to constructionand/or maintenance until december 2010), and the replacing bus was quite slow.
Great staff, excellent restaurant, refined atmosphere and wonderful setting, if you love nature. Highly recommended. The bed was a little soft for my inhabits.
Location is superb when looking for a quiet place to stay. Views are breathtaking Distance from Oslo citycenter is big. (Taxi approx. 40 euro's single trip)
