Quiet location; helpful staff; proximity to good restaurant; internet access; place to meet academic colleague
Fantastic hotel, very clean and great staff :o)
location no tea or coffee facilities
Rooms were very comfortable and clean, quite newly decorated and refitted. The staff were excellent and most spoke very good English. The location is excellent, a quiet street in a central location with easy travel links and lovely part of the city.
Quality of the fitout of the room. Very clean. Air conditioning unit out side the window was noisy. We stayed in room 602.
Excellent location for metro and airport trains. Good restaurants in the area and within 10min walk to Notre Dame. Small room and bathroom, but adequate if intending to get out and about. Did find other peoples clothes under the bed which begs the question how well they clean the rooms.
Location very good. In walking distance to most attractions and close to metro and RER. Superior room was large after French standards. Nice hotel and only limited traffic noice.
The staff were all extremely helpful and we loved the fact that the hotel was so close to everything we wanted to see and yet so quiet.
The best thing is lokation. The glass transparent door in bath/toilet. The room with 2 splitted beds is very small.
The most comfortable bed in 5 weeks of travel in N.Spain & SW France! Excellent location for sightseeing. No.
Location and exterior of the hotel. The hotel does not qualify as a 4 star boutique hotel in my view. Carpets are worn and it is a bit shabby. It does not have the facilities you would expect of a 4 star hotel (reception area, bar, etc). Outrageous charge for internet usage (36 euros/day). Staff seemed inexperienced and not very competent (could not find our reservation). Overall, not up to 4 star boutique standard.
The Hotel is very close to Is de Ville and Is de Louis and Notre Dame. There are some lovely quiet restaurants very close. The Hotel is beautiful. The standard room was small so we upgraded to a lovely sized room.
excellent location, very helpfull and friendly staff
Kind staff. Excellent location. Tiny room. Bathroom floods when you shower. Beds not comfortable. Noisy. Needs urgent refurbishment. Carpets were very tired. We had to kill a spider on the carpet in our room! Bar closes at 10 PM. Air conditioning not working properly. Absolutely overpriced. In fact, a 2 star hotel.
The location was perfect. The room was a nice size with good "storage" for putting away things. The staff was great and helpful. There is a nice "living room" area but the small bar closes at 10:00. When I returned from an evening activity, I would like liked to be able to have a drink. The lack of WiFi services was a major problem for me. In today's world, WiFi service must be standard.
Wake up call 15 min. to late, and the receptionist was not that helfull in the last morning, and we could not get just a coffe 10 to 7 a.m.
Great location, nice room (although not very big), helpful staff who speak a number of languages and a lovely sitting room for chatting, reading or drinks. The decor is elegantly French. The bed was not as comfortable as it could have been and the breakfast was too expensive (although there are lots of nearby cafes).
The service was exceptional anmd the staff could not have been more helpful. N/A.
Staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful and the lounge areas comfortable and tasteful. Also perfectly located.
Helpful, courteous staff. Great location. Pleasant common areas at street level. Room appeared worn - wallpaper, rug. Noisy in room next door, as well as sounds from above.
I enjoyed our pleasant greeting by the gentleman at the desk and i enjoyed,of course , the view and the great room and breakfast. A noisy location but very fun!
Small and quiet hotel with a very good location. As expected, the room was small but still comfortable.
Very good place, romantic room, all was very nice. I will recommend.
We travelled all over Europe this summer using TripAdvisor reviews to choose our hotels. All the other hotels were wonderful. This hotel was horrible. The only thing nice about it was the staff – they tried, but alas, they gave us constant mis-information. Positives: they arranged a nice tour to Giverny; they went to pick up my lost bag a nearby St. Severin restaurant where we breakfasted daily. The owner must pay someone to write good reviews, because they certainly don't spend any money on upkeep or cleaning. Our room was just plain dirty, despite our requests to have it cleaned. Our computer didn’t work in the room or in the lobby – and they kept telling us it should (it worked at every other hotel in Europe). Awful! Incredibly bad! Mystified why the other reviewers gave it glowing reviews! No one lifted a finger to help us with our luggage. The staff gave us constant mis-information: E.G. sent us on a wild goose chase to find a Seine cruise; gave us wrong museum opening times. The final coup was when they arranged for a (very dirty) car to take us to the airport for our flight home - and he dumped us and our luggage on the street in front of the wrong terminal and raced off!
We stayed for 4 nights in June, had room #9 facing the Seine and a great view from our window of Notre Dame. Staff was warm and helpful. Recommend this Hotel to all.The Kings, Canada
The receptionists of the hotel were extremely nice and helpful. The location is perfect, just opposite the cite and Notre Dame. Awful condition of the toilet and sanitary, the toilet brush was so dirty that it was dangerous to touch it, lavatory has a distinct heavy smell. The towels did not smell fresh and definitely were used for long time while they were true grey color instead of white.
Friendly staff, parking place, nice clean room , situation of the hotel in the centre of Paris, very friendly staff NO
location the bathroom & toilet are open each to the other. the public area is tiny.
Good location, price of the room The temperature in the room was very low, warm conditions weren't acceptable.
The hotel was in a great location but there are numerous hotels in this area so look around. The room had a balcony which was great. The air conditioning did not work and this was one of the main reasons that I picked this hotel. The rooms are tiny and the lift is the smallest I have ever been in, it literally fits 2 regular size people comfortably and maybe 3 if everyone knows each other, otherwise 3 is way too many! However the location is good & the Staff were friendly and helpful.
Unbelievably great location within walking to distance to Notre Dame and Blvd St. Michel. Great restaurants/cafes within steps; Paris's best rated croissants and boulangeries within 1/4 mile. Great front desk staff. Quality of towels and bathroom soaps, etc., were not great. Rooms are small compared to many but comfortable and very clean.
Great location in latin qtr, very nice room for the price, free wifi and reasonable minibar prices We arrived early and they did nothing to accommodate us, in fact our room was ready late - the elevator is miniscule and doesn't go all the way up. Breakfat is super expensive I never tried it
Staff and location
The hotel is located only a block or so from the Notre Dame cathedral and the river, which was nice. The rooms were quite small, but well kept. Its a pretty good choice as a home base for site seeing. There is a single elevator for reaching the higher floors. It is pretty slow. Some of the rooms are small and well laid out, but some of them are small and not well laid out (I stayed in two different rooms).
I liked staff a lot, very friendly. Vanessa and Greg were very helpful. I liked cleanness in the room and the location. It was perfect. I'd choose the same hotel another time. I didn't like the alarm at 5 a.m. the first morning. We were really tired and wanted to sleep. After that alarm couldn’t get to sleep anymore.
Very friendly and helpful front desk staff and convenient breakfast. Very small rooms, but not unexpected for inner-city Paris.
a nice and very central hotel. reccommended
View from the small balcony (room 61) Shower pressure and temperature were erratic
The hotel was in a great location, clean, and friendly. We accidentally left our iPad in the room the day we left for the airport. Via email at the airport, they found our iPad and shipped it soon after. We are very thankful and would highly recommend anyone staying there.
nice breakfast elevator too small and slow; old furniture in room; style not cosy, not fresh
Excellent Location. Staff Friendly and helpful. Connections to Airport by RER just about 5 minutes walk. Excellent resturants nearby. Berdroom quiet small but typical for Paris
Nice location, small but clean and simple rooms Fire alarm went off 4 times during 3 nigts
Hotel staff is very warm
Homy place in a nice neiberhood nothing
1. The Bathroom was excellent, something I consider very important when I'm staying at a Hotel. 2.They have free internet connexion for all room guests. 3. The tenmprerature of the room was constant always and we never had problems of beeing cold al night. That 3 things I liked best. 1. The last day, my free internet did not work and they could not give me any solution. 2. Above my room for one night there where people partying!! nobody cared except for us that were below them and we could hear everthing stamping, yelling, laughs..
We loved the hotel's location in the Latin Quarter. Lots of places and shops to walk around. Easy access to metro station. Easy walk to Notre Dame. Our room was a bit warm. Tough to control room temperature.
The staff were very helpful and accomodating. The hotel is located in one of the most beautiful areas of Paris and very close to many sites: Louvre, Notredame, Ile St. Louis, Musee d'orsay, Marais area. A major metro station is also very close by. The room was a bit small.
Great stay, good location close to Notre-Dame. Good front room and excellent and helpful staff.
Very clean hotel ideally situated. Just park the car and walk all over Paris. Rooms were rather small and very warm. Parking was not very close to hotel.
The location, the staff and the room - all were amazing! Very close to the metro, great food and sights. Would definitely consider staying here again during our next visit! No possibility of early check in. But we could store our luggage with them since we arrived early.
Beautiful room and facilities. Nice balcony on the Annex overlooking a great restaurant. Nice private courtyard accesses rooms in Annex (which is cheaper than main hotel). Very near the walled ancient city center. Rooms are right along a narrow street with traffic noise most of the night.
Great Location !!!!! Exelente ubicacion !!!
Location Clautrofobic hallways, unfriendly staff, bathroom stylish but very unpractical
Everything. I love this hotel. The location is superb!!!! The female desk clerk was very special and was a delight to speak with each morning. This hotel has personality, very french and quaint, but very modern and comfortable too,the perfect mix. You feel like you are in the heart of Paris. The views of Paris, especially Notre Dame are wonderful. Absolutely nothing.
Location, veiw, price Absence of mirrow in the room
good central location
Location. Superb views (for most rooms) of Notre Dame, the Isle de Cite and the Seine. Right by the Metro.
Great location and very helpful staff
The location, near all the sites to visit. The price. Expnsive.
We liked the location of the hotel and the boutique like atomsphere but rooms were small but very clean. Yes, as we are over 60 we found we had no porter available to help us with our luggage as there is 15 steep steps to the reception area. We felt bad having to ask receptionist to help us,which she did, but she had to leave desk unattended as she had no one to fill her place.
The location, the friendly staff, and the views. Nothing was wrong.
Comfort of the hotel (very clean, cozy and tasteful), the friendliness and helpfulness of the people working there, the location in the Latin Quarter and the view out our window.
Close to Notre Dame, easy walking distance to everything. Could see Eiffel Tower from our room window. Staff were incredible, hotel clean and well decorated. Loved it! This hotel was great.
Location Quality for the price
Front staff was friendly and kind. The room we stayed was small.
close to tour buses, very scenic, location was great , clean nice quaint, coffee and croissants were fantastic! Bed was just okay. There was no top sheet.
The reception person that tried very hard to get us an airport shuttle to no avail. The room was too small for any North American.
Loved the view from our room and the wonderful staff, especially the fellow who was so good to us the morning we were leaving.
Location just steps from restaurants, Notre Dame, Saint Michele, etc. Staff friendly, hotel has elevator & air conditioning.
Convenience of the Latin Quarter, almost all of the staff very helpful and friendly, big bathroom, room was clean, reception area nicely decorated. The A/C was working poorly the entire time during our stay and they could not seem to get it to work on a consistent basis; the woman at the front desk on our arrival did not look happy to see us becuase of the early hour, and I found that unacceptable in customer service
The helpful staff. Excellent, if expensive breakfast. Warm rooms and the location. Nothing, it was lovely. But we had a double room not a twin which was fine.
Location, cleanliness, modern bathroom. At this price, breakfast should be included, not charged extra.
great location, small room but cozy and well decorated, very clean. all in all, perfect place to stay at.
A quiet hotel conveniently and centrally located in a quiet part of old Paris.
The hotel is ideally located on Ile St Louis, close to shops, bars, restaurants and Nore Dame. The hotel was clean, comfortable and had free wifi access. Renovations at a building opposite meant that it was very noisy during the day. The lift and corridors were very claustrophobic.
Location - lobby - room small, but well laid out with lots of storage space, shelves and mirrors. Bathroom very good. Beds uncomfortably hard,. Like being laid on a slab. Caused us both a lot of hip pain and prevented sleep.
The location. No complaints
Location is excellent with views across the Seine and Notre Dame. Felt very safe, was away from the busy streets of Paris and in easy walking distance to lots of sights and attractions. Room was somewhat small, and air conditioning not perfect, but this did not ultimately affect our stay.
The staff were very helpful and the location is great,
Intimate size, friendly staff, great location Having to leave! Wish i could say negative things...want to keep this gem to ourselves. But had to share.
The staff was great and very helpful the included breakfast is a plus yhr are just finishing a complete renovation so our room was all new and had a great shower.
Very friendly and helpful staff, pleasant room, not bad value considering the fantastic location. The staircase was very shabby, especially the carpet. The room would have benefitted from some simple and inexpensive improvements, e.g. the lampshade was torn, the paintwork was tired.
Excellent location, friendly staff, charming rooms. Always a pleasure to stay at the Hotel Saint-Louis en L'Isle.
The location, the refurbished but traditional style Double bed was actually two single mattresses on a double frame, which meant the middle of the bed sagged and was less comfortable than the centre of the two single mattresses (which were very comfortable) and led to disrupted sleep for one person
The staff and location were perfect. Could have not asked for more. A/C was weak.
Convenience of being in the centre of Paris, linked to good service. Also obliging and friendly staff. A lot of street noise, but inevitable given the central city location.
Location & old world charm Language & communication barriers
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location made walking around easy and the metro was very near. We felt like we were in a special part of the city.
The convenience to small shops, great restaurants, fresh bread, Berthillion ice cream and cheese shops. Every night we walked to Notre Dame's square which was a few minutes away to see the street performers such as the fire dancers. I loved hearing Notre Dame's bells at all hours of the day. The location is fabulous for walking/touring many parts of Paris. The downside to it's great location is it was difficult to get a solid nights sleep because of the street noise, not so much traffic but the nightly garbage collection, the street sweeper, drunks singing...
Very good location had to be moved as the room we had had no hot water and too noisy as builders banging all day on floor above.
I liked the shower in the hotel. Limited facility like limited break fast in the morning.
Location is quite good, but not perfect. Lots of restaurants and bars near. The room was tiny, a bath-tub was inside the room!! A toilet doesn't have a lock at all. The hotel absolutely wasn't worth the money I had paid (480 euro/2 nights)
A very friendly staff, clean and quiet room, the location is great and the appearance of the entrance hall is inviting. The sound isolation between the WC and the bed room is virtually absent.
location and the simplicity of the very modern decor. very pleasant staff which was very helpful and knowledgeable of the city. the room on the street side of the hotel was fairly noisy in the late evening
The location was fantastic. Located in the Latin quarter with easy access to the metro, RER and Notre Dame. Near by shops included a grocery, bakery and several resturants. We had no problems using the RER from the airport (CDG) to the hotel. Seeing Notre Dame within seconds of leaving the hotel is still amazing. The rooms are small. The elevator gave me the impression that it was ready to break down (it did not). My wife felt the bed was uncomfortable but I did not.
The hotel was close to notre dame and within walking distance to the louvre. Lots of food choices available as well. the room was very very small, bed was lumpy and very uncomfortable. left after day 2 and we were booked in for a week - went to another hotel instead which was so much better and only cost a little bit more. Def not a 3 star hotel - it should be 1 star.
Location is good. Extremely poor value for money. E240 per room. Room was tiny even by Paris standards. No space on floor to even open our suitcase. This is not a hotel as is does not have any hotel facilities. No bar/restaurant, no room sevice, no tea/coffee making facilities in room, no hairdryer in room etc etc. It's e240 to basically sleep in a bed.
convenient to Notre Dame and the latin quarter in Paris rooms were rather small
Excellent location for sightseeing and shopping. recently renovated clean Poor breakfeast
Location & general atmosphere
This is a charming hotel in an idyllic location with helpful staff and wonderful amenities nearby. Nothing
The location of the hotel is perfect and the staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfasts were good and ideal in this situation.
Don't ask me to answer four questions yet there are 20+ questions here.
I liked only location/ It's too loudly and small bads
Nice room, very clean, loved that the windows opened, perfect location, quiet.
Location. Quiet. Helpful staff. Room size good for an European hotel. No.
the location was amazing and the room was comfortable and clean. nope!
The location is perfect for sight-seeing all the attractions at the heart of Paris. The setting was ideal for a romantic break, quiet evenings with a wide variety of Restaurants to choose from locally. The staff were all very helpful, and a special thank you to the friendly housekeeping staff for such high levels of cleanliness. We'd happily recommend Hotel Des Deux-Iles and will be back soon.
The location was excellent - right in the middle of Paris. Overall, the location was quiet and there were a number of nice restaurants and cafes, markets and shops located very close to the hotel. Prime location! The walls are 'thin'. I could hear my neighbors and vice versa.
