The refund I received once I spoke to the manager. We arrived very late at night to a hotel room with no A/C. We were moved to another room for the night while they fixed the AC. The problem was the room did not have hot water. Once we returned to the original room we had the hot water did not work for the remainder of the stay. We paid way too much to not have simple comforts like AC and hot water especially traveling with two small children. Additionally, there was SO much street noise you were barely able to sleep and the bathrooms were covered in mold. Will NOT stay there again.
Clean, comfortable, nice restaurant Need water in the room and a bit better service from parking staff
Being on the central square is a major asset for this property. Lola's is also a great dinner choice. The front part of the property is quite historic.
I like the location
Well located, nice casino, clean rooms. Outside noise. Need a refrigerator.
Very Good Hotel for the rate. N/A
The location was in the center of the historic plaza, therefore, walking to see the sites was perfect. Parking in the hotel lot, adjacent to the building and casino entrance was safe, secure and convenient. Dining in their restaurant LOLA, was top notch, casual, but fine dining for sure, was excellent and a part of the hotel, besides the courtyard pool. The diverse menu was outstanding as well as the quality of the food!! Service was outstanding as well. The casino was more expansive than I thought and part of the hotel, but not detectable from the actual residential side of the hotel; great and discreet.with good security. The coffee shop/cafe was outstanding and adjacent to the lobby. All staff were excellent, cordial, attentive and pleasant. The late night life across the street was not truly disturbing, (if you kept your air conditioning on), but could have been more quiet had the front lobby doors been closed. Room 226 was an absolutely wonderful room, but the sunrise comes directly through the front door, stained glass arch onto our faces (maybe a darker stained glass?). My only true complaint (although inexpensive) was that the parking fee should have been free to patrons of the hotel.
the check in and out process was fast and friendly a lot of local attractions to see rooms were clean and spacious casino open 24 hrs across from hotel noise from the outside we found out the bathroom has a window that lets in a lot of noise make sure to keep the bathroom door closed to keep most of the sound out
The pillows were plush and the bedding was comfortable. Toiletries and bathroom/shower were great. The door to the room didn't shut completely - had to push very hard. Called guest services several times asking for the A/C to be fixed - it didn't work properly. Maintenance came but left due to an "emergency" and never returned. Also asked the TV to be fixed as it continued to shut itself off. This was not fixed either. Incredibly disappointed with the lack of A/C and non-working television and the Hilton's willingness to fix the problem. Once, while waiting to share the problems with guest services, we had to stand through the concierge having a personal phone call as we waited.
The different activities, like putt putt golf or the 3' chess set, were fun diversions near the beach. Upgraded my room for a beach front but the beach is nowhere to be seen. They had a very nice hot tub, but the security guard started to harass us after midnight. The worst was finding out that the breakfast wasn't complimentary and then after I paid for the breakfast, the manager harassed us to show the receipt. The general pettiness of the hotel was a big turn off.
Room was nice No one helped with luggage from parking to front desk Elevator broken was not directed to alternatives Beach not good
Views terrific. Good facility given location. Have to either like golf or need a place to stay on the southern part of the island. Best find for Ponce. Tourist taxes in PR are the killer. Rate quoted far less than reality.
The hotel is on a very nice property with lots of stuff to do. The bathrooms need to be updated. Also, there were no washcloths. It is out of the way of everything else that Ponce has to offer.
Very friendly and helpful staff and good restaurants; well-kept grounds and pools. Would be a great place for a family with kids! There were really no negatives!
Comfort of rooms Pool out dated casino staff unfriendly
EASY TO GET TO MY STAY CAME WHILE THERE WERE SOME REMOLDING GOING ON. NEVER LIKE THAT.
Fire alarm went off for 45 min at 11pm took them an hr to turn it off wasn't too happy about that the resyurant is small and serves a very limited selection of food thAt is hardly worth the price took us 20 min to get a drink in the bar where there were two other people then he gave my boyfriend a drink with a big hair in it not at all wrth the money
Overall great hotel to stay and wonder the different attractions Ponce and the south area of Puerto Rico has to offer. Greate view, service, accomodations.
the room was outdated and not clean. The need remodel each room and maintain the areas of the hotel like for the example the pool and cafe area.
The best part was 2 free sangrias and lattes were included with the stay, but it ends there. The walls and ceilings were significantly cracked, the bed sheets were very dirty, the smell of the place was very bad, and the bed was extremely lumpy and uncomfortable.
The hotel was in a good location within Ponce. The staff were friendly and having parking nearby was a plus. The courtyard was also nice and we really enjoyed the rooftop bar. We were there for a wedding and it was nice celebrating at the bar after the reception. This was the highlight. The rooms are way outdated with green carpet and old tvs. There was nothing special about htem. Also, there is a loud bar/club across the street that kept us awake until they closed around 2 am.
Service and personnel overall was good The hotel rooms are a little bit small. Also power and water service went out so we ended up leaving the hotel because had been already 4 hours without any power and they didn't know when it will return. No elevator service was available and no A/C and even the water went out.
Unsafe location...parking 4-blocks away in public parking; again unsafe neighborhood. When arrived doors where locked...when they let us in, they locked doors behind us, which made it creepier. They said for our safety! Did not stay! Should hire security!
The Hotel Employees both very helpful. Air was not working in our room and atmosphere around hotel. Also, parking for hotel is 3 blocks away.
Located near historical sites. The front desk staff was very polite and provided good customer service. We were not able to stay at the hotel due to loud noises (traffic, music, road construction nearby), musty smell in room and low functioning a/c. The staff attempted to solve the situation, but could not provide a quiet/comfortable room.
Location was just perfect for the ocassion. We did go there for a religious and cultural event of the Hispanic world: Santa Maria de Guadalupe day that in Ponce PR is observed. This hotel features a walking distance from the celebrations.
How clean and well kept the place was. Very nice rooms, very high ceilings, mixing in old and architecture with new amenities. It was close to the 'action' in downtown Ponce, so if you don't like noise, don't get the balcony rooms!
Hotel had so much character and was perfectly located. Street noise might be a little loud for light sleepers.
The staff was very helpful and spoke English. For the price I paid I MIGHT have gotten a better hotel in the states. Have one of the rooms with a terrace you hear everything going on outside your room. i.e. horns honking, loud music, etc. I had to switch rooms later and didn't get a refrigerator.
Great place and too close of the town
Wonderful place to stay right in the center of Ponce. The rooms were clean and comfortable.
Hotel was very historic and was reasonably priced. Lovely interior and well decorated rooms with high ceilings. I think existing reviews are very accurate. Hotel is extremely noisy on the weekend, even in internal rooms, you can hear the pounding base of the cars cruising. They should let people know this before they book. Breakfast is light, a couple of loaves of bread and some spreads, a little coffee etc.
Big room. The noise from the street was more than impossibly loud. The windows don't have glass. They are just covered with blinds. There is an open decorative grill above the window that lets in all the ridiculously loud street partying.
All the hotel and is to close to everything No American Express
