Convienient to ap. Clean. Free shuttle from ap but you have no way to know. Paid for king, got queen sized bed. No coffee in room. If you didn't pay for breakfast they didn't want to give you coffee but another guest told us it was free. Stayed 2 days but had go back down the 2nd day as our keys wouldn't work. No free shuttle back to ap. Told us a snack was free between 4-6 am but when we arrived near 6, they said that they had already put it away and didn't even want to give us coffee. Would not stay here again.
The condoms in the room, branded with the hotel logo, were an unusual touch! Made us wonder if we had booked into a `rent by the hour`place!
good location, nice little local bar next door, friendly staff in hotel and helpfull. happy to keep our luggage safe beyond our stay.
The hotel was extremely well located and in a very safe neighborhood. The staff attempted to charge me a tax of 50,00 reais for a room for a couple because when I booked I clicked on "single occupancy" by accident even though when you book for a "couple" you don't pay any more money. Futhermore, I was without wifi for half of my trip which as an international traveler without a functioning cell phone is unacceptable since wifi is the only way i can communicate; also when the wifi was working it was EXTREMELY slow.
Despite the location in a ugly area of the city, it becomes strategic because it's near the bus station and touristic downtown. There was no hairdryer in the bathroom, despite the hotel being rated as four stars hotel.
Staff is helpful. Nice breakfast. The bathroom is not too old fashioned.
Price and location was convenient The only thing I asked when I checked in was a quiet room, and yet they put me right by the elevator and next to the cleaning staff office, which meant that at 6:30 am everyone in that place started talking very loud. No respect of guests who need to rest until 8-8:30.
The pool was small but nice with a beautiful view of the harbour I arrived at 8.30 am, flying from Curitiba. The staff member behind reception, pointed to my booking form, where it said that I could check in at 12.00. I told him I understood that, but was it possible to check in earlier, as I need to shower and get to a business meeting by 10pm. He said I could have a room if I paid an extra night. I argued, and he was very unsympathetic to my needs. There was no manager on duty to help. Finally on principle I said I would cancel and check into another hotel. Two other staff behind reception told him to go ahead and book me in. So he did, but with mo apology or smile.. he had absolutely no sense of customer service whatsoever. On another note, the area around hotel is quite dangerous....
The hotel is in front of the city´s bus station. The room was decorated with simple and old furniture, but it was quite confortable especially during a sojourn. The hotel wasn´t aware of my reservation until I phoned to confirm it, although I had already received the confirmation from Booking.com. The breakfast wasn´t satisfactory.
Hotel needs to be re-done completely. Old and worn carpets, linen, ...I had a club sandwich on sundaynight which was not fresh at all, even to a point disgusting (did not eat it). Hotel gives a sad impression. Will definitely not stay there anymore. Felt repiied-off.
location, overall quality, best value-for-money in Porto Alegre. a bit old.
This hotel has some serious issues to sort out regarding overbooking rooms. After 22 hours of travel from Lisbon, I arrived at 1:30am to find they had completely disregarded my reservation and given away the last room. This, despite the fact that I rang them from Lisbon two days prior to let them know I would be arriving late. While the night desk man did his best to find alternate arrangements for me, it was a truly horrid start to my trip and I will never stay at a Novotel Hotel again. Very dowdy room with badly stained carpet and a wonky TV. Also, very frustrating to have to ask daily for a new internet username and password. Boo!!!
