the location of this hotel and the beds it was rather noisy, we slept on the left side of the hotel, on the ground floor was the kitchen and transportation of all kinds of things like the carbage, early in the morning
location miserable room comfort - oppressively hot in the middle of the night - air came on which was warm and couldn't be stopped - front disk claimed floors above oures required it and the air wasn't heated (baa humbug)- the bed covering was bundled so it was either the whole much too warm package or nothing - inexcusable for a high level high priced hotel
the style of the hotel and the location
Sorry, not much to say, The room was smelling, i think it is from the rubbish bin which we can see from the room we stayed. Some views are ok. The room was too small, both my husband and i cant hardly move. The toilet and shower was not up to the std. I was disappointed and the weather was not good either. Both make my day miserable. (Mrs Pihl)
Location, polite staff Definitely not a five star hotel - have not been renovated for some time, rooms cosy
Breakfast is excellent.... Bath room quite small....
Good location for old town, good breakfast Tired & small rooms (certainly not 5* or even 4* standard), staff variable - some unhelpful & indifferent
Fabulous breakfast included! And, if you want to explore Gamla Stan, the location is perfect! Our room was charming.
Location You can hear the people on neighboring rooms
good spot, convenient for sight seeing It's a 3 nights stay in the hotel. On the 2nd day, hotel move all my personnal belongings to another room by neither asking my opponion nor informing me about the change. And on the 3rd day, my door key is diabled without any reason. I feel that the hotel doesn't welcome me at all and allowing such unprofessional things happen which seems like a hint that they want me to leave ASAP.
Proximity to most museums, good shopping and restaurants. Perfect buffet breakfast. Nice pool setting in vaulted basement. The early (06:00) morning wake up call by the garbage truck in the alley.
Nice and central position; nice hotel for those who like antiques and old fashion furniture
Great location and friendly stuff!!! Parking situation
It was wonderfull old hotel in the historical parts of Stockhol. A lot of nice antik things, etc. Small rooms.
everything. (decoration, staff, breakfast, service...) If U are a solo woman traveller, you can take surprise and really happy service from them. The hotel is in the centre of old city so it can be big, but the atmosphere and decoration is perfect and really clean. You can feel you are in the 4 star hotel in the old city of stockholm. Staffs are really kind and helpful. I needed to take a train at 8:30am but the breakfast started 8:00am because it was weekend. I told staffs about my train time, and they started the breakfast 7:30 just because of me. I was really happy and thanks to them. no tub. but no matter.
furniture, location, uniquess no
Lovely building and very nice staff. My room was unheated on my arrival and I felt very cold during the night. I only realised that the heater wasn't on after I failed to warm up.There was also a shortage of fresh fruit for breakfast but I liked the fresh orange juice.
I attended a conference at the Swedish parliament so that the location was perfect. Though I wasn't on vacation, the churchbells from the nearby church did make me feel as if I were on vacation.
Everything was just right. The location is spectacular, the service and facilities were excellent, the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. If I had to pick a highlight, it would be breakfast (variety and taste).
Fantastic interior Poor breakfast
I got a women's room. Small accesoires but it made me feel welcome. It's situated in th best part of Stockholm, old town. The carpet. No bath tube. The room was very very warm even though no heat was on.
My husband and I loved that all was authentic ART, and so easily followed with the captions. We thought the decor was so real, tangable, and so much History to be shared; added to the time there. The location was super to enjoy the OLD CITY. Thank you so very much! We would have liked a place to have a night-cap, glass of wine in the eve, on the premises, Rather then walking the streets looking for a place to rest and talk, and then returning to sleep.
Every night in the suite, they laid out a tray with some nice port wine and chocolate. Comfortable hours for the delicious breakfast in their historic cellar. Terrific bed. The place is convenient to the tunnelbana (metro). The lobby and staircase feels like some sort of maritime museum or collection, very cool. We loved this place. Hmmm... i cannot think of anything negative.
location, nice rooms no free internet (even in the lobby) is not from this time
nice quiet room and excellent location and very good breakfast
good theme, nice ambience breakfast was apalling. Quite the worst arrangements I have experienced in 5 years of frequent business travel. No fitness facilities. Expensive internet facilities. Overall overpriced
Mid size cosy hotel with a maritime atmosphere in the very nice Gamla Stan. Having forgotten my powersupply for my laptop I was very happy by all the efforts made by the hotel personnel to find an appropriate solution for me. 2-3 people shifting gear at once to help me out. Great service written in capital! n.a.
Staff was great. Location was perfect; in the heart of historic area.
This is the most charming hotel I've ever stayed in. Great location, charming and unique decoration, and the staff went far above and beyond expectation.
I havent feel stars more than three
Nice and clean rooms even they are quite small. Breakfast does not include to the room price but it is good. Quite hard to get a taxi.
Nothing to like. This is not 5 stars hotel. Maximum 3 stars. Windows was broken. Too small rooms.AC Not working. Expensive and breakfast is not included.
Nice and helpful staff Bang and Olufsson equipment not in all rooms
Great location, good staff - friendly hotel no
the breakfast was outstanding.
Russian speaking stuff!!! Expensive
Great location, friendly staff, nice breakfast, good value for money Room could have more space
Cozy and clean! Too too too small room
location, style, breakfast parking facilities
The good location (in the center of the old town), very good breakfast
The room was in the lobby, about 95degrees in temperature and had a window at street level so the window could not be left open. The street was a pedestrian street filled with people out for a party. It was loud. I booked myself another hotel. I would never stay here unless you can sleep through anything. Room location, temperature of room, unfriendly staff, noisr
perfect location - very close to most city attractions, quiet street, cosy nice looking rooms, attentive staff car park area is not near the hotel that can be inconvenient if you expect to use the car often
This is a charmingl hotel in great part of Stockholm, Gamla Stan. The front desk staff are all very freindly and accommodating. The room was great and very well maintained. Great bathroom and loved the shower! The breakfast was wonderful with a large selection of hot and cold dishes. Just down the street is a great Italian restaurant, Ristorante Bettola Di Papa Sisto.
The hotel was very central, the buffet breakfast offered good variety and the cleaners didn't come too early! I would have liked the option of having tea and coffee in my room.
Good restaurant on board, wonderful location and friendly staff make a stay in Stockholm pleasant.
Location is perfect - right beside the Old Town, but away from traffic and tourist crowds. Staff at the reception is very helpful. Wi-fi lan with free internet. Beds, although rather small, are pretty comfortable. The shower is tiny and dull. And be prepared to suffer rocking - it's a ship!
Good location, close to the old town and the central station The breakfast could have been a little better, it lacked proper cheese and salami, and the vegatable was not very fresh. Also the breakfast room was very small, with a very few tables, yet too many people.
nothing the hotel is dirty ... i even went to the WC and it was too dirty they didn't clean it at all. thanks god i stay one night only
Location, views and the charm of staying on a yatch.
Very good location - right by the old town. Nice staff. Free internet connection on one computer at the reception. Very nice buffet breakfast - lots of choice and everything was very fresh. Very comfortable bed. Beautiful boat - lovely carpeting everywhere. You may be a bit daunted by the shower at first - it is connected to the wash basin tap, so you draw a curtain around yourself and have a shower on the floor. You cannot have two people in the bathroom at the same time. There is also not much room in the room to move around. And we stayed in the First Officer's Cabin! (10 metres squared.)
This is a fun, unique place to stay and is a great value for the price. The location is fantastic and the place is in nice condition. Breakfast was impressive. It was really fun to get a taste of what ocean liner travel was. It wasn't a problem for me but it is tight quarters. If you want a lot of space, this might not be the spot for you. Both the hot water in the shower and the internet were a little spotty at times. Not terrible, but not 100% consistent. I still really enjoyed my stay though and would happily stay again.
Very convenient location. Great breakfast. Small, but quaint rooms had a very nice feel. Excellent value for the money.
Sauna, breakfast, staff, cleanliness. Construction in front of hotel - not their fault, and they do forwarn guests.
Great Location! And the idea of staying in a boat is quite nice as well! Close to everything in Stockholm. Most of the main places of interests are walking distance. Employers were nice and professionals. Restaurant have a great view of the lake and city council. Breakfast was also nice! Will definely stay here again in my next trip to Stockholm! Bathroom was a bit tiny but was sufficient for my needs. To be honest have nothing to complain about!
It was so convenient for Gamala Stan, Central Station, Tunnelbanna. It was quiet. The views were great. The breakfast was good. I loved my cosy cabin. Great to come back to the boat after a hard day sightseeing. The coffee was rotten but surprisingly that seems to be the case everywhere in Stockholm.
good value for money but still comfortable, clean and has character
Location on the first place, historical, "lobby" and the breakfast. Extremely small room. 2m x 2,2m plus 2m x 0,9m (bath)
I loved this hotel! It was in the perfect location--right in the centre of the old town, near the palace. Everything was very professional. The breakfast has plenty of selection. It was a great value for the money. No negatives
Ambiance is great
Good location on Gamla Stan, helpful&friendly staff, interesting interior of the hotel, nice breakfast.
Positive staff! Terrible food! Tiny! Noice from outside and other rooms!
Very neat and cozy. The style is something special: lots of curiosity items, antique furniture, good books. Obviously this hotel is run with love and care.
very friendly atmosphere. very good location for sightseeing in the old town the room was very small.
Excellent location. A fun hotel, simulating a ship, complete with loophole windows and polished brass. Very clean bathroom, but no place to put your vanity case. A nice glass of port, compliments of the hotel - delightful! All in all, a warm and welcoming hotel. No bar. No proper breakfast room, so I opted to have my breakfast in a nearby café.
The hotel is conveniently located in "Gamla Stan", the old city. The furniture and the collection of antiques and memorabilia are very nice.
Location, staff Very small rooms No taxi access (50m walk)
the location is perfect as it is in the middle of the old town. I stayed in room 5 which is the top floor, giving you the best feeling of the old building you are staying in. Very nicely decorated. shower / toilet area was slightly small.
The atmosphere was perfect: ancient building in the heart of a fascinating old city; and yet spotlessly clean, well-appointed and comfortable. The breakfast was extensive and extremely good. The welcome we received was very friendly and staff were always most helpful. The hotel's flexibility with accommodating a guest arriving early from usa was very much appreciated indeed. I loved the hotel, but I notice that whilst the website does say that "there is no elevator", it does not explain that there is a steep spiral staircase. Beautiful as it is, this would be an impossible hotel for the elderly or even slightly disabled.
The location and the "cosy" room. No lift and narrow stairs if you have much luggage.
it was the most different place we've ever stayed, built in 1607 but now with marble bathrooms, it was right in the middle of the old town & you felt like you were stepping back in history, there were even ghost tours beign given under our window on weekends, staff was very quick to accomodate requests (for a replacement lamp & larger cups) and helpful with directions. the lighting was much to dim, you could only read by one of the lamps
Unpretentious but with lots of character! Warm, friendly, small hotel in the heart of the old town. Some small things like the bathroom sink doesn't drain well and "kitchenette" was an exageration! When someone was in the room above us, it was noisey as there are bare floorboards.
Great location, friendly staff. very personal only a small number of guests A bit hard to find the place and you need a pass code to get in after hours
The Hotel Sven Vintappare is a quaint inn which features warmth and hospitality in the heart of Stockholm. Though the Inn still has all the charm of the original building from the early 1600's, the amenities have been very nicely detailed to add comfort to the stay. Staff at the Hotel were very friendly and served an excellent, healthy and balanced breakfast in the morning. The Cafe at the ground floor was a welcome treat to 'come home to' in the late afternoon. I would definitely recommend a stay here for travellers looking to experience a sense of the Old City... whether here on vacation or business.
central location, charming decor, fantastic comfortable beds, friendly staff
Optimal position, carefully designed even if it's a hostel, cool atmosphere! No free wifi but only a notebook with wifi connection freely avaible but only during reception opening hours.
The Old Town lodge is in one work great. I loved staying there.. I wouldn't mind staying in the hostel for the whole day, there are so many people with whom you can talk and have very interesting conversations with, I stayed in the dormity room, this room is truly the end! You have to see it when you go there!.. I think the dormity rooms are better than the normal 2 or more persons rooms. You do not have as much place but it is just great, you should see! Everything was totally great! I was very pleased with every single thing in the hostel!
The location of the hotel is simply great.
Easy to find this hotel. The location is really good. The reception opening time is too short and the room is too simple and crude.
Very stylish and modern for budget accomodation. A real flavour of Sweden. Being winter, Stockholm was extremely snowy. Therefore you tend to bring alot of debris in to your room inadvertently. Therefore a daily sweep of the room would have made the stay perfect. However, this is me being meticulous. Everything else was great value for money.
