friendly staff, excellent breakfast (very nice terrace!), nice room (though a bit small), good design,
Very quiet room and very stylish/modern interiors. Breakfast was very good, too. Not particularly
the place is not five stars it s three stars. The terrace is not covered so the birds take all your food, the bathrooms are tiny and the water spills all over, the internet slow.
Good location. Staff friendly & helpful. Breakfast excellent. Service always readily available. Room small & expensive for what it was. Air conditioning iffy.
Very helpful and friendly staff, excellent and quiet location, well equpped and comfortable room with a beautiful view Bathroom on the small side
kindness of the staff they where working in our hallway with more than 5 persons, ceilings opened etc.
location,design,very friendly staff nothing
The best hotel in Athens. We ended up eating both at the roof top Restaurant and Main follow breakfast room and had excellent food, service and views. Highly recommend! Surrounding neighborhood wasn't very upscale
I thought the hotel staff was extremely pleasant and accomodating. Everything was terrific, however, there was one item to note. One evening while sitting in the bar lounge we ordered an appetizer. For 30 Euro's we got what one could only describe as a match-stick sized spring roll. I thought the portion and price were not consistent. However, the breakfast bar was fantastic.
i like the design of the hotel and the staff were very friendly and very helpful No
Fantastic hotel with a stunning location in Venice.
Very central location to all that Venice offers and yet the right side of the Grande Canal to get away from all of it and unwind. Right next to Salute water taxi stop. Room was fabulous and staff were very attentive
Very helpful and friendly staff, and nice morning breakfast! A little expensive considering the size...
Location is great. Computer in lobby for internet connection. Would appreciate them adding a workout room... 2-3 treadmillw and some free weights would be adequate with a TV to watch while exercising. Printer for the internet connection and add a second computer station as we often had to wait over 30 minutes to check our email and airline bookings, etc.
Breakfast taken seriously - a pleasant well furnished room -staff dressed in impeccable whites -location -good as being near Accadenia bridge , it is well placed for easy access to both sides of the city TV set up was too complicated to use -but we would not have used the facility to any great extent
Very central.Comfortable and clean. Excellent breakfast. Good value-for-money.
The room was absolutely spotless and very handy to Accademia bridge Not really too much to do around the area of this hotel without walking to San Marco/Rialto etc
The staff are truly wonderful, and the rooms are very nice. We also loved the location of this hotel, only a short walking distance from the Accademia waterbus stop.
The hotel is well situated in a quiet location on a secondary canal but close (2 minutes walk) to the Grand Canal. Our room was to the front overlooking the canal. If all rooms arent it is worth asking for this. It is a beuatiful location and outlook. The room and bathroom were smallish but perfectly adequate. The staff, especially at reception, were friendly and helpful.
The quiet area and its proximity to local attractions. The buffet breakfast was awesome too! My room was rather small. Could have been bigger. When I asked if we could upgrade when we checked in, the guy didn't want to bother and told us to ask the morning shift.
The breakfasts were very good and the location was excellent. The room decor was lovely.
The staff were most welcoming and helpful. The location was excellent - next to a relatively quiet canal and far enough off the main tourist drag to be peaceful, yet only a two minute walk from Accademia Bridge, so within easy reach of all main attractions. We paid extra for a room with a canal view, which was delightful. A pre-dinner glass of wine on the balcony was an ideal and enchanting way to relax after a tiring day of sight-seeing. Tea/coffee making facilites in the room would have been a bonus.
The staff make this hotel exceptional. They are friendly, knowledgable, and focused on making your stay enjoyable. The breakfast buffet and evening happy hour were exceptional. You may think being a distance from Piazza San Marco is a negative. Just the opposite. The location is perfect. Away from the very crowded center yet close enough to easily (for Venice) get to all the must-see areas. Highly recommend this hotel. There was nothing we did not like.
The hotel staff could not be more helpful with any questions I had about Venice. The location is excellent for access to the shopping areas and St Marks square just over the Accademia bridge. The rooms did not have tea making facilities but this did not detract from our stay.
beatiful art deco style with spa bath and very convenient to water vaporettos -not cheap but very luxurious
very conveniently located. helpful, efficient staff. big room, very nicely appointed. the price--our frinds stayed at anotherhotel in the sme area that was very nice but much less expensive
Staff very helpfull, room large and clean, design and confortable, very quiet, ideal location, pleased by the welcome ( bottle of Chamapagne!)
The location is wonderful. Heating system and air conditioning are not interchangable. Seriously uncomfortable.
Reception staff very helpful. The breakfasts were very good and having breakfast al fresco was very pleasant. The hotel has been open for 7 years and is at an age when some of the fittings and decorations need renewal or attention. The air conditioning in our room was a little noisy, one of the bathroom lights did not work, and the much-vaunted 'sunrise alarm clock' did not illuminate. There was a 'funny' with the lift doors which meant that sometimes it got stuck on one of the floors, resulting in some long waits. On one day the chambermaid did not leave spare toilet paper.
Attentive and helpful staff. Good breakfast. Room next to lift and some noise when in use. General room lighting a bit low.
great location - near the main attractions but quiet rooms very dark although very comfortable.
A stylish and comfortable hotel well located but away from the crowds - helpful staff - good breakfasts Nothing!
Friendliness of staff, room and facilities No
Perfect access to Ca Rezzonico vaparetto stop- about 25 metres from hotel door. Elegant beautifully presented rooms in a well refurbished Palazzo. where everything was new and well appointed. The internet acces was out of order for 3 days during stay. The rooms had very high-tec features and no instructions provided, e,g, jacuzzi in bath and room temperature control.
Everything. The room was exceptional in every way. The hotel itself was truly amazing and in a fabulous location. You werent too close to the tourist areas in that you had the peace and quiet, but in easy walking distance to the tourist areas - I truly had the best of both worlds. The staff were brilliant also.
,staff, adjacent vaporetto stop, location, style. poor lighting inroom
The most elegant hotel we ever stayed at. Authentic renovation, beautiful decoration, attention to detail, exquisite breakfast. Truly a 5 star establishment. N/a
A beautiful, luxury villa in a perfect location in Venice. The upgraded room was such a treat and the morning concierge was so helpful. Unfortunately, we didn't realize the drain in the jaccuzi tub didn't work and by the time they fixed it, it was too late to use
Absolut extraordinary hotel . It is a must if you se Venice . Great Location, and the building is in great condition . 10+ for this hotel . I would recommned this to any one . Great Experience
location right on the Grand Canal by vaporetto stop and traghetto crossing the price of the room was very high for its size and outlook
The location on the Grand Canal was very nice. They had a beautiful patio there. There was also a waterbus stop just at the hotel. The room for which I paid over $400 per night was a small cell with a very high window which was useless. Told me this was their "standard room." For 50 Euro more they found me a "superior room". It had a window, but looked over a flat rooftop into a wall. Find out about the room before booking.
Beautiful building in a very good location. Fairly quiet, but reasonably close to centre. Very friendly and helpful staff, and a well designed triple room which afforded more privacy than many.
The position of the hotel beside the grand canal. The decoration of the entrance hall. Comfortable bed and nice bathroom. Staff very friendly and helpful. The bedroom was rather small for the price of the room and windows looked out on very narrow canal. Prices are expensive in Italy but we felt that the hotel we stayed in in Bologna was much better value for money.
Everything - Terrace on the Grand Canal
We had a large, comfortable room with a view of the canal and the church. Hotel has a pleasant garden. Friendly, helpful staff. Good location, near to San Basilio vaporetto stop, convenient for attractions in the Dorsoduro area. A few caffes and osteria nearby but not far to walk to find whatever you need. Would definitely recommend it and will consider coming again.
friendliness of staff, Garden and large balcony Lock broken on the balcony door
Excellent staff, peaceful but accessible for the sights of Venice.
the staff were brilliant and the hotel was very stylish and superbly positioned for access to the sites but really peacful and quiet
A lovely bedroom, light and spacious, beds firm but not painfully so. friendly and helpful staff. breakfast coffee not v. hot (but we should have spoken to the staff)
Beautifully decorated Long walk from Train Station
view, quiteness, comfort, very nice shower, friendly staff.
Breakfast is served in the beautiful garden. Friendly staff. Quiet place. Interior of rooms is poor enough. There are no teapots in the rooms. No room service is provided. As a whole the hotel doesn't correspond to level of 4 stars.
Our accomodations on the first floor with garden view; the garden; location away from the main tourist crowd but within easy walk or vaporetto ride to everything. nothing
Everything about this hotel was wonderful.
The location was easy to access from the vaporetto stop and only a short vaporetto ride from the main tourist areas but the majority of people in the hotel vacinity were locals.
The outside gardens and the quiteness
Good location; easy access; nice music outside, clean entrance, lots of food on the buffet breakfast Lack of hospitality, lack of smiles;staff at all levels is totally stressed out as if they were being watched continually;service in the morning at breakfast is overdone but lacks welcoming and hospitality.
Leaving Very rude staff
location was good. The breakfast was good. shower in the bathroom really tight. the 2 triple room we booked is almost claustrophobic. The bedsheets and bed cover looks "unclean" the draperies has a funky smell. the hotel staff are very standoffish.
location, breakfqst, garden qnd boqt trip to Murano Shower temperature fluctuated from warm to cold to scalding
Beautiful setting; friendly staff; working air conditioning! no internet; poor tv selection
Great location and courteous staff
Pensione Accademia meet all my expectations. The smallish single that I had was comfortable, well appointed and had everything that I needed after the willing staff made some requested furnishing changes. The staff went out of their way to please and make me comfortable. The pensione is located nicely on a smaller canal just before it runs into the Grand Canal. There was some disturbing early morning horn blowing from barges passing by my window turning into the Grand Canal from this smaller canal. Otherwise my room was mostly quiet except for some room to room sound. The wall separating my room from the next could be better sound proofed.
I liked the location on the Zattere very much and the traditional atmosphere of a small elegant Venetian hotel. There was nothing I disliked during my week-long stay.
Friendly and professional staff, quiet and comfortable room, very clean, hearty breakfast. This hotel is located in Dorsoduro, which is quieter and less crowded than the San Marcos or Rialto areas, where most of the attractions are. However, an able bodied person can easily walk to these areas and can even walk to the train station if needed. Plus, there are many good restaurants nearby. This hotel appears to be well managed as evidenced by its well disciplined staff and orderly facilities. Very glad I stayed here. Nothing.
Excellent staff and location, nice and quiet. Short walk to major attractions. Lovely garden and courtyards, with its own boat docking, (excellent for taxis). Views of canal from room. Beautiful dining room and lounge, very Venetian. check out time of 12 which is nice. will use again. no lift, so stairs only, but porter carries your luggage
We loved everything about this aristocratic hotel. It was so photogenic, quiet, and beautiful. We found our room to be comfortable and lovely. The breakfast was in a elegant room full of antiques, The food was very good with great coffee, juices, fruits, breads, eggs, etc. The location was away from the mobs of tourists but easy to get to,and it was easy to walk or take the vaporetto to other parts of Venice. We arrived by the Alilaguna at the Zattere stop. It was then a very easy walk of about five minutes to the hotel. We departed by water taxi from the front courtyard. The Accademia area around this hotel is interesting and there is so much to explore. It is scenic and much quieter than the St. Mark's area. We loved everything!!!
The staff was very friendly and informative. They quickly tell you about the facilities of the hotel as soon as you check in, and give you a map of the city identifying the key lamdmarks and places to visit. The ambience of the hotel was excellent! Directions to the hotel from the nearest drop-off point, which is the Accademia.
location Room was too cluttered with furniture. Hotel wants to sell everyting (eg wifi access)
The room was beautiful, breakfast great, location fantastico! Climbing three flights of stairs
The facility was very clean and confortable. Great location near major tourist attractions (15 min walk from Piazza San Marco) The staff was very friendly and helpful with any queries we had. They booked a baroque concert for one night and informed us about discounts in a couple local restaurant/bar. The breakfasts were very good with a variety of options for everyone's taste... and excellent price considering that it was right during the Carnival and for Valentine's day weekend. We had a lovely stay and will definitely recommend this hotel.
Beautiful location, good staff, very nice hotel Very poor hair-drier
Very friendly and efficient staff. Very beautiful building. Easy walking distance to city centre. Rather too warm in the bedrooms.
The small hotel nothing
There was a nice àuthententic descrete professional ` feel` about the hotel although a bit dusty. Fresh flowers everyday in the reception and just one single smile from the personal would have made a great difference. The entrance is dark and dusty with old Londoner chairs, so old you can not sit in them. The breakfast was very poor, bread that was dry (one each´) and on good days a crossaint to share, no fresch fruit, no nice new baked bread, no cheese. We chose to go to a bar afterwards to have a real breakfast. In our hotel room (very very small on top floor) we did not have pressure on the shower water two days. No desk in room so you could do a bit of work. The hotel entrance space itself could be made so nice dooing a few things like a little more lighting in ceiling, new furniture, fresch flowers. Main space at top floor was nice to look at although tapestry (fake) frescoes in cieling. Nice window to the canal - this could have been a nice place in the evenings to sit and have a chat if it was furnished in a lees monumental and more comfortable way. It was like the hotel was something once but they have fogotten to be present in a modern world.
The hotel location provided nearby access to a part of Venice with a residential feeling while still being fairly close to the vaporetto stop. Way overpriced-- even for Venice. Everything was skimpy and shabby from the breakfast to the towels to the lobby furniture. Over a 5 week trip covering 12 cities in Europe, this was the highest price we paid for a hotel and yet it was the shabbiest hotel with the fewest amenities.
The hotel is beautiful and very nice No elevator
Position was very good. Room was acceptable. Very rude and unfriendly staff. Dirty bathroom. Dirty reception areas. Dangerous (and dirty) steps to first floor.
Very high quality, great reception + staff Once in the hotel - which is appropriately priced, everything was too expensive. For example tea & coffee, drinks food. It simply does not represent value for money and these prices reflected the hotel's expectation that if we paid a lot for the room, we'd pay a lot for basic food & drink. Because of this, we won't return.
The staff's friendliness and the location. Wireless internet would be nice. I would have liked more selection at breakfast.
room too small for two people.
Location excellent: easy to get to and from hotel and the restaurant on the canal is a wonderful place to eat as you can watch all the activities on the water. As the sun goes down it becomes even more spectacular. Good vegetarian food available. Great pastry chef, I recommend the biscotti.
Fantastic location - nice area - good restaurant - friendly staff.
Good location, friendly staff. I would recommend this hotel.
Breakfast was very good Very clean hotel Always helpful with suggestions Nothing everything perfect!
nice hotel, good location.
Nice small hotel in the quite part of Venecia. Very nice rooms and willing personnel.
We chose a 2 double bed
location, staff, room, excellent hotel!
Hotel staff assistance to plan the tour.
Breakfast is good. Staff is good. It is clean. The hotel is difficult to find. My room is on an attic which is too tiny to turn around, but the it is cheap (90 euro/night)
Friendly, helpful staff and elegant surroundings
Superb hotel, helpful staff, excellent breakfasts, two very good restaurants owned by hotel just up the road, canals all arounbd; we had a great stay here and would recomend the hotel Quite honestly, for us, it was faultless.
Easy access to the Grand Canal, and other attractions in the Venice area. Most specifically Natalie who was very helpful and insightful.
Nothing. The single room was no larger than a standard prison cell. Mosquitoes were prolific in my room and the shower was designed for a person that might be 4' tall and a size negative 10. Breakfast was a joke; stale breads, old coffee, and warm yogurt. Wifi only worked intermittently and had to go ask for new code every two hours. Way overpriced and would not recommend to my worst enemy. As a solo, price conscious traveller, I don't typically expect the greatest size room but c'mon..this was ridiculous. The bed was like sleeping on a spongy board and the sheets smelled of something unexplainable. Havent seen any bed bugs yet but would be surprised if they were there. Way overpriced and would never recommend to anyone that needs anything other than some small room to get some brief uncomfortable sleep and a place to brush your teeth.
Location to all the sights to see in Venice
Great value for money, great location.
friendly staff, large clean comfortable room
The location was fabulous, The main building was nicely designed, the public rooms and breakfast room were modern design, bright and appealing. Breakfast was relaxed and enjoyable. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. Great vibe. The bed was clean and comfortable. Unfortunately, compared to the main building, the annex room seems to be an after thought. Dark and somewhat dingy (ie, smashed bugs on walls and ceiling, oily smudges on wall, toiletries set picked over, shower doors loose and off track.) My room had no number on door and I mistakenly opened my neighbors! Thank goodness they where not inside. Surprisingly, my key seemed to work on all of the doors! Non refundable for a reason, stick to the main building.
the decor of the rooms and hotel is excellent, the breakfast is very generous and tasty. there are a few small, but essential things missing in the room. eg, a shower curtain, or an iron, or a TV channel in engish
The staff were more than professional and helpful. The hotel was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. Again my compliments to the helpful staff.
The staff, the great breakfast, and the quant location.
The staff were very courteous and extremely friendly, multilingual and efficient. The location is fantastic although a bit of a walk to the centre of Venice. The water taxi is the best way to get there but worth the extra money you pay as it is a short walk to the hotel. The decor is modern and charming as it's namesake. I highly recommend it.
The hotel was perfectly situated as to be in a quiet area but within easy reach of major tourist attractions. The facilities in the room were excellent. The breakfasts were definitely worth getting out of bed for with an excellent buffet selection. We love Mr and Mrs Smith recommended hotels!! The beds were a little on the too hard side but not enough to complain about!!
Room was lovely, breakfast nice and Staff very friendly and helpful. Great location.
The area is very nice, hotel staff lovely and the room clean and modern, breakfast very good too
We thought the room was modern with good facilities. The location was fantastic as it was off the beaten track. The service on arrival and departure was great and breakfast was superb. The room looked a little tired and would benefit from a redec.
the view, the courtyard air conditioner didn't work-night staff wasn't helpful in getting it to work
Close to water bus
The position of the hotel in the city and the breakfast. The shower tub had a bad drain
Everything was OK They have to do something against mosquito like blu light or net on the windows
This is very nice little hotel in a very quiet area of Dorsoduro near to the ferry stop at the Salute. We had a large room with bathroom in the Annexe this time. Some years ago we stayed in the main hotel. The dining room is open for lunch and dinner and the inclusive breakfast was good. We would certainly stay again. It is not expensive by Venice standards. There was nothing to dislike about the Messner.
for a family there were 4 proper beds lighting in room was very poor - needed air conditioning - free internet access would have been nice
Room and lobby were comfortable and nicely decorated. Room was a decent size for Venice. WIFI did not work in room and in lobby, despite the staff telling me otherwise. Staff approached me as a tourist: we know you won't come back, so why should we care if the internet does not work. Lobby closes at 1am, so if you have plans that require you being out later, this is not the hotel for you.
Restaurant meals were good. Availability of a drink after getting lost for hours. Quiet at night. No blind on my room. Neither TV nor safe worked - if I had wanted to use them. If not for being fortunate to find a 'local' in the street - it was after dark, I would not have been able to find the hotel after the trip on the Water Bus.
It was very easy to find - very clean
Excellent location, quet in the evening but very close to main attractions. Breakfast could have been a bit more varied, but okay.
location was close to Peggy Guggenheim Museum micro sized rooms, not very clean and poor breakfast
The location was decent. That was by far the best thing. The breakfast in the morning was not too bad either. My room smelled like old eggs, there were stains on the wall, the room was incredibly small, and the hotel was difficult to find.
We stayed in the annex about 10 minutes away from the hotel. The room was very nice and well located. Nice with a real fridge. The annex is located about 10 minutes walk from the hotel so we had to carry our bags 25 minutes to get, first to the hotel, and then to the apartment.
Raffaella was most helpful in providing information prior to our arrival and afterwards.
Staff was very nice. Location is with in 10 minutes walking of the train/bus Depo. Well located for touring Venice on foot. 2 ferry station are within 3 minutes A little too noisy in the area to keep you windows open at night/ ask for the rooms facing the back.
The cleaning staff were friendly and the breakfast facility was good. Initial problem with the booking and mosquito's
I liked the design of the room and the location. For the money we paid it was well worthit to stay there. I did not like that the second bed was not for 2 persons to sleep next to each other. I thing it was originaly a room for 3 not 4 persons.
Unable to have breakfast (or even coffee) the last day when we left for the airport at 5AM
The location is perfect, just in the center on the Venice island.
1. the location is nice--it's close to the waterbus stop. 2.decent breakfast for italian standards. 3. very nice decor in my room. 4. bidet in the bathroom 5. access to a small balcony from my 2nd floor room 1. there was no shower curtain or shower door-- led to a very wet floor situation 2. the single room was very small-- perhaps 56 square feet (6 square meters) 3. for some reason the staff insisted on keeping the copy of the reservation that I printed out for my personal use/files--even though I had some personal notes written down. I don't understand why they couldn't access their own copy.
The reception staff and breakfast maid were friendly and helpful, the hotel is nicely postitioned and an ideal base for exploring Venice. The rooms are pleasant and the bath size hilarious. A visit to Morano will show you how much the chandelier is worth! As per many similar hotels, the rooms are fairly small and you don't seem to get as much room for your money in Venice, though they are pleasant enough and air-conditioned for when it gets really hot.
We were a group of 4 women and stayed in the annexe, it was perfect for a short stay, very comfortable and plenty of room for us all.
We had one of their "appartments" which was comfortable for 4 persons and very nicely situated, in a lively area but far from the tourist crowds. Apartments are serviced like hotel rooms (sheets, towels, cleaning). Small kitchen area (fridge, sink, plates, cutlery) can be handy. It however was what you would call in North America a studio and not a one bedroom. The breakfast area is very small for the number of rooms. On two mornings out of three we had to wait for places to get free.
