Great location Internet was slow and difficult to use from mobile device
I loved the location--- within walking distance to downtown, Victoria. Nothing
Location is great! The hotel is old, outdated and in desperate need of a facelift. You are definitely paying for location.
Extremely attractive hotel with perfect location by the waterfront. Easy walking distance all over town. We enjoyed our room overlooking the harbor. Gracious, helpful staff. We were happy with the Courtyard Cafe, which provided good sandwiches, coffee, and dessert for low-key suppers. Island Time Tours, booking right there in the Grand Pacific, took us to Butchart Gardens and picked us up again at our requested time. What a very nice arrangement. When it was time to leave Victoria, we chose the Victoria Airport YYJ Shuttle as more economical than a taxi. The Shuttle arrived at the front door and delivered us to the airport comfortably and in good time. We were happy in every way with our four nights at the Grand Pacific and would gladly stay there again.
The rooms where nice, clean, bright... Bed was very comfortable ... Staff where helpful. The restrant food left you dissatisfied , tast was okay but not up too it's reputation ...
The room was well appointed, had a nice view and the pool and hotub were excellent.
Staff was great and very helpful suggesting restaurants and activities. We were able to arrange A late checkout and keep our car parked. The location was excellent and there are a lot of nearby restaurants. We had a great time. Facilities are undergoing a major remodel. A bit noisy in the morning since they start early
super close to everything tourists do
The room was beautiful and the beds excellent. Enjoyed our stay. Location was excellent for walking.
Bad wireless Internet - the only negative
Everything. Location was great facing the inner harbor. The staff was superb!! Food was excellent!! Look forward to staying there again! No, absolutely everything was excellent!!
Staff were excellent location was excellent Curtains were torn
The hotel is well placed by the harbour in Victoria and public areas are very splendid. The bedroom was appaling, bearing in mind what we were paying. It was tiny, no aircon, empty mini bar and badly in need of a refurb. Steer well clear of this rip-off!
I loved the huge comfortable bed, so much that I didn't want to leave it.. The staff were all helpful and polite which I like a lot... There was no cold water provided in the room...
The hotel was lovely. You couldn't ask for a more impressive setting on the harbour, the hustle & bustle of all of the activities in the City are at your fingertips. The staff was extremely delightful. Upon check-in we mentioned we were celebrating a special occassion and were upgraded to a lovely 1 bedroom suite.
convenient location, very clean and great services. little noise before mid night.
It had a really good location and many different options for dining and nightlife. My friend and I really liked the rooftop bar/restaurant, although the weather wasn't really appropriate for the volleyball courts.
There were three things that for sure will determine my next trip to Victoria: the central localization of the Hotel, the proximity to a nice pleasant bar and the quality / price very good for those who wants an Hotel to sleep and go! Hum, for more exigent clients, for sure furniture is a little bit used. And of course, minibar was missing, but for me it was ok !
The proximity to the downtown area was ideal. You could park and walk anywhere. Transit was just outside the door if needed. Very sparse for room amenities. No coffee/tea, lotion, hairdryer etc in the room. Needed to ask for them, and then they would be provided. Quite small rooms even for a deluxe queen.
The location was excellent, and the rooms, quiet, big and confortables. Breakfast was poor.
Have been staying for years. Best value in Victoria. Always stay and eat in the restaurants too - especially important now as drinking and driving is out and my husband cannot walk long distances. We tell our friends! The walls are a little thin and the conversation in the next room was like they were sitting in our room. The bed is a little hard - could be a better mattress. Not really what I would describe as a "deluxe room" and if I was a new client I might be disappointed. We know what to expect so we are satisfied. Affordable does not have to mean "cheap". The bedspreads and drapes look like they are from the 80's - do one floor at a time and spruce it up - solid colours are better than old flowers. The bathrooms are fine. We owned a small waterfront motel in Qualicum and it was "affordable" but the rooms looked attractive. Like you, we had a faithful clientele - keep us happy.
Good housekeeping and front desk crew, all facilities working, excellent location, good value. I didn't care for the continental breakfast, but McDonalds istwo blocks.
Very inexpensive! Great Continental Breakfast ! 3 bars ! ! Right downtown ! Great Staff ! ! I've stayed 3 times, this time I had a room with 1 bed and it had a very small room. Last two times I had a room with two queens, Very large renovated rooms. I'll always get the 2 queens from now on.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was quiet, beds very comfortable with down comforters. Pool was nice break for kids.
Reserved a room with a king bed. We were traveling from Seattle via the clipper that couldn't sail due to the marine forecast. Once we realized our trip was going to take 7 hours via buss to reach the hotel, I called to notify that we would be arriving late and was assured my room would be ready and that we would have a king bed, not 2 doubles. We arrived at the hotel and no king beds were available. But then the representative said I could upgrade for $40 more per night and beaten down by the 7 hour trip I agreed to pay the fee. Then we get the bill and it was $60 + $4.85 PST + $1.21 MRDT + $3.03 GST. I understand that the taxes are what the are but should have been quoted them and the hotel should have honored the quote made on arrival. I was offered $10 per night discount by the manager but still feel mislead. As a Marriott rewards customer for years and one who has stayed at Marriott properties all over the world, I will not be returning to this property. The maid service was also poor. The room was not vacuumed nor were the sheets ever changed on our 3 night stay. Additionally when we arrived there was left over spoiled food in the fridge. Lastly they did not replace plates and silverware in the kitchenette and when we came back to the room with takeout, we had to eat out of plastic containers. I do not recommend this property. If you are accustom to Marriott service and hospitality, you will not find it here.
Price and closeness to the start and finish of the Victoria Marathon.
We were able to leave our baggage with the front desk while we were out for the day. The workout facility was so nice to be able to use at any time during my stay.
Hotel was close to all Victoria attractions
staff was friendly and efficient, room was clean and location was good Restaurant was very slow. Parking was expensive.
Clean facility, close to ferry terminal and local tourist attractions, staff was super friendly and helpful, especially the doormen, there were plenty of towels and comfortable beds. Exercise room small but with enough variety of equipment. Wish the swimming pool had been larger, not quite big enough for lap swims, wish they had provided a changing room in the pool restroom. Wish they had provided a small fridge in the room.
The support they gave to Marathon participants the weekend we were there. Easy access to the bus terminal an downtown restaurants etc.
Beautiful decor, excellent staff in breakfast restaurant, good parking. Our room did not get cleaned on the second day, we did get clean towels and wash clothes when we asked for them. Wish there had been a small refridgerator in room. Coffee in room was awful and powdered creamer yuck. Room service for same was pricey.
An excellent staff -- all were exceptionally courteous, friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and pleasant.
Staff was friendly and helpful, gave us 1 hour late checkout without charge, free hotel parking for guests, great location The food at the main restaurant was not good and the service at that restaurant was mediocre, at best
Room was clean and the staff was very friendly. Having a room above the outside bar and roadside was very noisy during the late night hours
Location was great. Bed was not great only ok. Room above bar and noisy till closed. Since no ac had to open windows . restaurant had good food. Staff very good. So all in all ok only would find snother hotel if go again in same area.
It is economical but with all the amenities needed. It is in an excellent location on the Harbour. The express breakfast was an unexpected surprise and very good. We would come back to stay here when in Victoria. The room was a little warm and we couldn't get the thermometer to work.
its quiet, clean! none but my husband is saying that he was kinda dissappointed coz he couldnt find the channel for WWE - wrestling
Location was excellent. Staff was very nice and friendly. Beds were comfortable. Loved the solid surface floors (rather than carpet) in the rooms. Wi-Fi did not work very well at all. Kitchenette room was so small not enough room to even walk around the beds - much better when moved to a room without the kitchenette. Very loud on the harbor/street side.
Location was excellent and the room rate was cheap The room was noisy, I was kept up by a dog barking next door, paper thin walls. Breakfast was free and in the restaurant below but I heard one of the waiters say to another waiter about my order, 'don't make this a priority, we have paying customers'.
The excellent diningroom and bar food
Location was fine. View blocked by windows that were damaged and cloudy. So much for 'Harbor view' and bathroom tile was filthy. Floor under sink was really dirty. There was too much extra furniture in our tiny room making it hard to move around or even get to window.
good location. Friendly staff no air conditioning in the room!
Very clean room, friendly staff, great location
Hotel Staff was very polite and professional. Location could not be better. Rooms are big and very comfortable. During breakfast, should be more waiters looking at the food that is missing.
Rooms are nice, modern. Beds/bedding comfy. Big bathroom, tub. Front desk really helpful. I didn't hear noise from other guests, but it was mid-week, so that might be a factor. Turn down service. Continental breakfast wasn't included.
The apples were delicious and the Aveda products were a real treat.. I did not like the smell of the room initially. It smelled as though it needed to be aired out.
i love the peaceful feel to the hotel. Each room I have stayed in was very quiet and extremely comfortable. The beds and linens are wonderful. All my needs are met within the room.
Enjoyed the food and ambiance at prime. The staff at hotel have gone way beyond expectations in making every stay fabulous. Would like a pool. Roof top bar and city transporting options(bike, hotel car)
Small hotel with professional, friendly and helpful staff. The location is walking distance from most places in Victoria. To demonstrate how well we liked the hotel, the only thing that we remember is that they forgot to put bathropes in our room.
The couteousness and genuine friendliness of all of the hotel staff was commedable. The breakfast that was included was fantastic and very efficiently served. The valet service was excellent.
The room is spacious and furnishings in the room are quality. The distance from the hotel to the bus terminal only 3 minutes for walk. The hotel is quiet, good room service....
I liked how polite the staff were, and I was very impressed with my room. I wish I had known I would have been charged for the Global that was put in our room, tho the price was appropriate.
Enjoyed being on the 4th floor with high ceilings and skylight Scrambled eggs were kind of bland Maybe some variety of sauces to spice them up a bit
Close to town Continental breakfast was part of the deal but all we got was two cups of coffee and that to not even 12oz! Pretty pathetic! There was no "gift shop" or "emergency supplies" offered at the hotel (you do tend to forget a toothbrush). For the price, I would have rather paid $10 more and stayed at a nicer hotel & I will do so the next time around.
Helpful no-fuss staff. Spacious room. Excellent shower. Easy walking distance of most town sights.
Everything was great! One of the breakfast staff was rude. He took breakfast a little too seriously.
the staff were exellent and helped in a friendly way.
Being able to park the car and have a base to explore Victoria on foot. The savings allowed us to have a spa day and afternoon tea at the Empress Hotel. The breakfast buffet had good variety and well attended. The pool area should have some lounge chairs and a bit more privacy.
We really liked the location of the hotel. Close to everything we wanted to go to or see. Free breakfast and ample free parking too was a plus. The closet was only about a foot from the side of the bed. It made it hard to get in to. But all the plusses of the hotel made it insignificant.
Location Aged appearance
This is the second time we have stayed at the Embassy Inn. We appreciate the value and have to be back in Victoria in April so will stay at the Embassy then. I have not looked at any reviews. Most bad reviews are given by people who are habitual complainers.
It was quiet. nothing to say here
the best breakfast and dining place I've ever been too. Very clean and best supervised. Food is always replenished. Never ran out. Definitely will comeback. Best location. Staff very friendly. Room is clean and comfortable.
Location Friendly staff Breakfast Clean. Good value for the superb local
The food was good, we only had lunch once but breakfast most mornings. The staff and kitchen staff were very pleasant. The curteousy car was a pleasant surprise and nice to have available both to pick you up and also to take you places. It is very close to the harbor and the ferry coming from Port Angles.
Convenience of shuttle and friendly staff.
Fantastic location. Next to where you want to be but on a lovely leafy quiet street (one road back from the water front) The hotel is older but has large rooms and is very comfortable.
It was a very pleasant experience. The staff very friendly and helpful. We were upgraded upon arrival to a lovely king suite which was a lovely bonus. The room was very spacious and comfortable with a full kitchen. We stay in Victoria a few times a year and will now be staying at the Royal Scott. Also this hotel is very quiet. Something you don't always find staying downtown Victoria.
THE clean and comfortable rooms and the friendly staff
friendly staff and offer us assistance all the time, courtesy vehicle to go around the downtown bed is not too comfortable
Good access to hotel and rooms and parking. Pleasant staff. Recommend an upgrade new bed mattress
Great location. Great staff.
Clean, quiet and convenient. Great hotel for the price
The location of the hotel is excellant, close to the inner harbour, restaurants and beaches. House keeping was not good. Used drinking glasses were n9ot replaced or cleaned. Coffee & supplies were no upkept. At check in we did not feel welcome, although he was not rude.
Just a short walk from Parliament, harbor, and all the fun of Victoria. Found several nice markets nearby as well. Clean apartment-type room. Very clean with a great little kitchenette! Quaint, cute, charming, nice parking.
We liked the location and that it was quiet. We also liked that there was a full kitchen.
Awesome staff and I got a free upgrade. Even helped with problem with car
Very clean and really close to everything !!! Bed made too much noise , not comfortable
For a 5 star hotel with swimming pool etc there were no bath robes provided or available for going to & from the pool.
Good Location with Friendly Staff Fitness room was too small and lacking quality and variety, Room was hot with noisy air conditioner. Conversations in hall seemed like they were always right outside door
This is a well located well appointed hotel. Rooms slightly dated, but comfortable and clean. You will be centrally located to everything you want to do in Victoria.
We loved this location and staff... Room was nice and comfortable with great city view.
We were upgraded from a one to two bedroom suite on the 17th floor with great views.
The room was spacious ans we were travelling with a teenage daughter and we all had our own privacy
Proximity to harbor Maid service - failed to replace washcloths and all pillows on bed
Your beds and pillows are fantastic. At check-in, I had inquired about a complimentary upgrade. To my delight, I was informed that it had already been done. That was a lovely perk.
The staff was very accomodating. The rooms felt more like business class, rather than a comfortable vacation hotel.
Not much. Staff was friendly, location was good. Furniture was nicked/had holes in it. Air conditioning was a cheap portable one you could pick up at Costco. Staff got my order wrong, still charged full price after remaking it. Bed was stiff and squeaky.
Very comfortable and spacious suites.
It was so nice Could've been more hot tub jets
They did our laundry free of charge when our dryer wouldn't work. Very nice and folded it to ;)
Luxurious rooms, lots of space, great service and staff Did not provide enough toiletries, no air conditioning, could not close top windows
We stood in line for 15 minutes (I counted) while ONE staff member dealt with ONE check-in ahead of us. (And there were people behind us...). Sure, she apologized when it was my turn, but who cares? Why didn't she call another staff member to check in others and speed things up? Why wasn't I offered an upgrade, or free drink at the restaurant, or one day free parking, or something as compensation? And we were staying 3 nights. Nope. A perfunctory apology was all I got. And don't tell me that a manager somewhere wasn't monitoring the various security cameras which observe that check in desk, so they knew - but apparently didn't care. Shameful. Very, very disappointing for a supposed luxury hotel.
Our room should have included a washer and dryer but it was out for service. The hotel did our laundry for free with a quick turn around. This hotel is in a fantastic location, we highly recommend it.
Great rooms with everything you need
The room, facility and service were all exceptional. Very impressed!
I loved this hotel- it felt so luxurious with out the price tag. We had deluxe suite and we will definitely return.. It was close to the harbour and we could walk everywhere. The soaker tub was very relaxing, nice little touches like washer dryer and ipad doc made it even better We enjoyed it all very immensely fireplace didn't work in either room and the hot tub jets were not very strong
Shower pressure was excellent! Location could not be more convenient. Also, we got a great deal. Apparently, there was a mix up on my reservation at check out, and the staff did not know what to do, so it took us over 30 min to check out. The staff could have just charged me for the room and be done with it in a much shorter time because we had the Bookings.com reservation paperwork with us to show the staff.
The staff was really kind, and the room was excellent. Full equipment for cooking, very clean bathroom. Highly recommend. Our room was just beside the street but the street was not very noisy. And it was park view. we were very tired after city tour so we slept very well.
The rooms are great and the value for the money is as well. The best feature is the location, close to shopping, restaurants, parks. Easy to find and great access from the airport for visitors.
The rooms are beautiful and comfortable and the location is excellent. Soundproofing is virtually nonexistent. I could hear the people above me all night and the shower next door is so loud I thought my own shower had suddenly turned on.
The location is exceptional. Across from Victoria's biggest park and within two blocks of major tourist attractions, restaurants and downtown shopping. Inn is being renovated so construction materials and some chaos on the main floor at the moment. No noise in suite however.
Excellent location and the kitchen facilities were an added bonus. Comfortable bed and clean bathroom. Small bathroom.
Everything is included in the question 2. Specialy because is a very clean hotel and offers lots of facilities. Is confortable and cozy. Good price, good internet e excellent location. But the most important: is clean and confortable!!!!I Nothing to write about!!! It's really good and we enjoyed to stay there!
Location is excellent. hotel and rooms are very clean, parking at a reasonable cost, and rates are competitive if not better than comparable hotels. Street noise at times disturbing, but not excessive.
Good hotel at great location
Within walking distance of all of the downtown Victoria sites and the convenience of parking our vehicle while walking the area. The rooms were excellent. Nothing
central location but quiet setting
Rooms were very nice and the location was quite convenient to everything. I was in a queen suite with two nice tvs, refrigerator and microwave, and very comfortable beds. The walkout balcony was a bonus. Valet parking could be difficult as there was only space for a few cars at a time. The bar at the bottom level was very popular, so much so that I wasn't allowed to enter as they were at capacity. I took my business elsewhere. The balcony door didn't seal super well, so there was a bit of a draft in that area.
We had a king suite. Nice to have a living room and bedroom separate with 2 nice TVs. Bed was comfy. Room was updated and clean. The couch in the living area was small and a bit uncomfortable.
The beds were very comfortable Breakfast supposed to be until ten . You should be ale to walk in until ten at five minutes until everything. Was gone and being put away . They said you could have what was left . I ended up having to drive and wait a hour for breakfast . Also the sauna and pool were closed
Comfortable beds, clean room and bathroom, great view of the harbor, decent breakfast, cheap parking, awesome location and friendly staff. Also really liked the kitchenette space had it's own little space/nook! Best value for the area!
Overall a nice old hotel, but I would not say that it is a luxury stay. Breakfast was very good and included with the cost of the room, so that was actually a treat Restaurant has a dress code, so keep that in mind before you pack.
Location was in perfect walking distance to everything we wanted to see. Hotel had great character. The breakfast was delicious and the beds were very comfortable. The staff didn't provide much direction on hotel amenities.
walking distance to water and restaurants. showers were excellent. decor was dated 1980's. everything was tidy and nautical but mattress could be upgraded
full kitchen, staff very helpful washroom counter too small
Location, Location, Location At other Hotels, dry cereals available. Would have liked to see other newspapers on sale, Globe&Mail, National Post, The Province.
Convenience; friendliness; "homey" atmosphere. We had two bed; one would have been preferred and allowed more room in the suite. No an issue re: future stays, though. we'll be back.
within walking distance of city centre, large clean room, price included light breakfast, full kitchen in room old refrigerator in room - constantly running - room a little run down - should be classed as 3 star not 31/2 star. Beware of rate advertised on web site - web page site was $135.00/day - it was not a bargain as walk in rates were advertised at $CAD138.00/day at the hotel. My cost including all taxes/charges became CAD$206.00 per day.
