Bag fees not clear and totally unreasonable, no way to check in or check bags online unless you register with their nosy BIG Points. Late by 1.5 hours! Can't get ANYTHING to eat or drink without paying in local currency cash, not even water. Seats squished together and really uncomfortable. Baggage takes a long time to come out. Poor wayfinding at Kuala Lumpur Airport.
Food was simply awful; which is a shame for a national airline of a country known for its great cuisine.
Some members of the crew were really nice, but we had one on each leg of the flight that were so rude to passengers. On the KUL-BKK leg, one male crew member was really loud and obnoxious, and on the BKK-KUL leg, one female crew member was yelling at some older passengers who were a little slow in boarding.
The leg room is deplorable. My knees were continuously hitting the hard seat in front of me and going sideways wasn't even an option. I've never had this happen to me before. I'm a female and 5'9 and this is the least space I've ever had on a flight. So uncomfortable I can't imagine a long flight with this airline, which is good to know because now I will not use them for flying to Malaysia from NYC.
Also both flights were delayed by nearly an hour each.
I lost something before boarding and a member of the Jetstar flight personnel was amazing: he went beyond the call of duty to secure my belongings with ground staff.
It offsets an easier bad experience with Jetstar I had a few months before.

I don't anything about JetStar. This is my second time flying with them. First time delayed 2 hours both ways. No explanation on why it is delay. No weather issues on both sides. This time it was delay 3 times and a total of 8 hours wasted in the airport. Now return flight I got noticed that it will be delay for another 4 hours. Now I don't feel confident about this airlines will ever be on time. They might hit me with more delays. I hope not.
I don't like that there is no explanation on the delay and their only explanation is operation requirement. What does that mean? Does not explain anything. You pay cheap flight u get headaches. Next time I pay more for better reliable service. Jet Star I told everyone not to fly with your company again. It is terrible experience.
Cue to check-in was ridiculous! Employ more staff so that the wait time is comparable to other airlines.
Alcohol - why is there no alcohol on the KUL/BKK leg? I thought that this was an international flight.
I'm a 4 years Globe trotter Malaysia airlines is one of the worse companies I know my backpack new generation for great traveller by few months before at $600 form Kathmandu been torn up ( tear ) with shoes print on my backpack I'm not recommend this companies to anyone it was my first and last time I used .
