Pros: Had a very easy experience picking up car. We needed a child car seat and while we had to install it ourselves it was ready to go with no issues. When we went to return the car at the airport it was pouring rain and the gentleman receiving the car saw we had a young child with us said, "don't worry about getting your things out, we will drive you to the gate." That small gesture was such a help to us! Thank you!

Didn't have the model i reserved was forced to pay
Cons: I reserved a budget car but on pickup they didn't have the model promised. I was forced to take a higher model but then Hertz refused to honor that model at the agreed price. So I ended up paying more than the agreed price.
I was told to call Hertz's 800 number which i did and spoke to a horrible customer service rep who refused to escalate my complaint and then abruptly hung up on me.
Perhaps the very worst car rental company in operation today. Will never rent from them again.

High pressure to by additional coverage
Pros: The locatation.
Cons: I got the third degree - pressure sales push to get me to buy the additional coverage including that if the car was in an accident I'd be charged $100 per day for Hertz's loss of use. Since I was only paying $30 per day the, this struck me as fraudulent and abusive.

car reeked of smoke
Pros: I am a hertz gold customer. The car we picked up was not clean, reeked of smoke, and the renting agent was very lackadaisical.

Pros: Helped in making needed reservation change.

Pros: I liked the car, liked the price, liked the location.
Cons: When I picked up my car, no one explained to me the deposit. It wasn't clear on my receipt, and I wasn't aware of it at all until I checked my bank account. I tried calling the number listed on the receipt to understand and no one answered so I called the 800 billing number. He wasn't clear at explaining why I was charged over $100 more than what was given on my receipt, and was a little rude. I ended up calling the airport and ended up speaking to a really nice guy and he explained it to me better and wasn't sure why I wasn't given a detailed explanation at the time of pickup

Pros: Really appreciated the value for money aspect...great to have a car you can rent for a day that way and still afford it!!!
Cons: the Car smelled badly....like someone with bad B-O...yuck.

Easy for the most part, and straightforward
Pros: Car was clean, ready to go, and the pick up and drop off was easy
Cons: Car had a dent on it that I noticed after I picked it up, and there wasn't anybody to check for damage when I picked up the car nor was this ever mentioned. Granted, I should have looked when I picked up the car, but I'm hoping that this dent isn't pinned on me.

Pros: Car was clean and well-equipped.
Cons: The driver seat in the car was very uncomfortable -- too low for short people. It would have been a bigger problem on a longer drive.
Cons: Even though we had a confirmed reservation they had no car for us. They said a "glitch" in their reservation system caused overbooking. They said they would call us when a car came in from another location but they never called. The same thing happened to my niece this summer at another VA location. Never again will we use Enterprise

Pros: The price was good.
Cons: The high pressure to buy the additional "coverage." I tried to politely tell the agent that I did not want any additional coverage, but he persisted in trying to scare me into buying the coverage. When I again told him that i declined, he told me he was just doing his job.
When I returned the car I was asked how my rental experience was and I told the gentleman that i didn't like the high pressure tactic to sell me the insurance. He responded with "That's the name of the game." i replied that I thought is was a crummy game.

Pros: The staff at the Charlottesville airport were efficient, courteous, and nice. The car was ready, clean, and comfortable. (Be aware that if you rent an Enterprise car there you need to go to the National Counter. There is only a small sign to indicate that. I had to ask.)
Cons: I didn't care for the car's handling and performance. I didn't expect a super car but the steering on the Dodge I received was very loose to the point it felt a bit unsafe. Otherwise the car was roomy and comfortable for my six foot, 200 pounds and got decent mileage.

Pros: Staff are efficient, clear, friendly.. Thanks for the upgrade.
Cons: Couldn't figure out how to,use all the bells and whistles without reading the manual. Needed to find the security guard to help 3 adults figure out where the drop box was. It was underneath a bunch of envelopes
