The location for the old city is fantastic, you have nearly 10 historic squares pretty much on your doorstep with all the tourist attractions in walking distance. And great value!
The staff, in the confort. The bathroom is to old
I truly enjoyed my stay at Hotel de Mendoza I will recommend this hotel to friends and family.
Good clean hotel in city centre at reasonable price. Elevator a bit dated. No view room the room (Wall opposite window).
just perfect for proximity to cultural events especially at the Teatro Degollado
1. the fact that it is perfectly situated next to everything worth seeing in Guadalajara. 2. room was clean, whole Hotel was clean and well kept, Staff is helpful, responsible, 3. there is a small balcony in some rooms, in my case it had a view of a XVI C church, 4. Has a sight-seeing roof that is worth going up to, 5. Guests were all very professional and respectful people 1. Sockets are old and if you need to plug in a laptop, you must ask for an adaptar at the front desk. 2. Despite the fact that they put a thick carpet in the halls, if a guest is talking as he or she walks down the hall you can hear averything, it also goes the other way aroung, you can hear what people are saying in their rooms as you walk down the hall. The TV is too small
Service was very good. Quiet rooms. Centrally located. Restaurant in the hotel. Hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, clean. Would have liked a more economical price.
The convenience of being in the centre of the old city. Easy of driving to it and parking on site.
Staff very courteous, wonderful service with restaurant, lovely design and of course, Location, Location, Location The shower curtain did not extend to the bottom on the shower, hence water leaked out.
Very clean, quiet, comfy beds N/A
Location was the best, right in the middle of Centro Guadalajara. Great buffet and restaurant! The parking/valet situation. If you drive make to contact hotel for best parking options. The hotel uses a 24hr garage 3 blocks away, but with all the construction going on it will be a 10-15 walk. Other than this everything was great!
great location. Excellent value for money. Minor imperfections (loud air cond, sink missing a stopper)
The location was excellent - close to central plazas and right on Juarez Ave. The room was clean and comfortable. The price was very reasonable. The staff at reception could have been a little friendlier. The fitness center was hot (not well ventilated) and some of the machines didn't function well.
In the heart of the historic center making everything walking distance to the hotel. The hotel could definitely invest in some new towels! They were shearing and falling apart.
Loved the location. Beautiful building. Very helpful staff. Unusual, interesting room. The bedspreads were a little worn and the furniture in the room was a little worn out too.
beautiful historic location, very polite staff. many thing to see and do within walking distance. tv too small. furniture somewhat worn.
The hotel is in only a block away from the historical center of the city. There are a ton of things to do/see within walking distance of the hotel. The hotel is very comfortable and the staff attentive. The rooms are spacious and very clean. I would definitely stay at this hotel again.
The Bedrooms and bathrooms are nicely decorated and very clean. The staff were all very frinedly and very helpful. I HIGHLY recommend this hotel if you are going to Guadalajara. It is only blocks to the Historic town square and there are lots of restaraunts and stores within walking distance. We stay here every time we visit Guadalajara and LOVE it every time.
We didnt get free breakfast at this time But we did get free snacks and drink from the room refri
Upon arrival bellhops were very courteous and helpful. Front desk was very efficient and our check in fast. Rooms were clean and cleaning and room service was very good. Check out was very efficient and hotel furnished transportation to airport. Now, at every level, bellhops, front desk, cleaning, restaurant someone spoke english making it very easy to communicate. All directions, menus, etc. were written in both Spanish and English. Location of hotel was great, near the Cathedral, and many sights. In Historic District. I would highly recommend to anyone going to Guadalajara to stay at the Hoiday Inn Downtown.
Just spent 4 nights at this historic hotel. Close to many historic locations and activities. Service is great with very friendly Engish Speaking employees. Took sevearl side trips to great places recommended by staff. Our suite was clean and well equipped. Would definitely stay again.
Very pleased with the staff and the service. The hotel is located in the center of the city so it is within a few blocks of all the major turistic locations in the downtown area. The rooms are clean and quiet, that makes your stay more pleasant.
We stayed for one night for about $. It is NOT near the airport (the Hampton Inn is MUCH closer) and the free shuttle was not available for a 7am flight nor an 8pm arrival ... so add $ to the cost of the stay for taxis. All this said, it is a nice hotel in a nice location ... much better than I expected for a Holiday Inn. The room was large and the bed VERY comfortable. Free Internet was nice. The restaurant had good food at reasonable prices and we ate on the balcony overlooking the street. The wait staff was very attentive (we were the only one there at the time)
Very friendly and helpful staff. Room was clean. Restaraunt food was good and reasonably priced. Located within walking distance to many things.
This hotel offers the best for business travelers, it has online access, the receptionist all speak good english and are very helpful ! I will recommend and continue to stay
Great location, within walking distance to most historical sites and attractions. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and quite helpful with directions and recommendations. Room was nice, bed was comfortable and clean, however the dining chairs and table did not fit well in the small space and otherwise should have been left out. There was plenty of seating with the small sofa and coffee table. Bathroom was in need of some renovation and repairs, but was sufficient. We also enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the hotel, food was fresh and delicious. I would definitely come back.
The room was clean and the staff was very nice. Unfortunately for us, the bed was not that comfortable, the Internet spotty and the air conditioner, while working full time, almost cooled the room. The following week we came back to Guadalajara and stayed one block east at the Best Western that had a similar room but with good air conditioning, Internet and bed for $40 USD less.
the most friendly and efficient staff in the front desk lack of communication your company and the administration. I had to pay cash even with a paid reservation.
It was pretty good value for money, although cleanliness of the room definitively could have been better. Also good location and all in all friendly staff. It was entirely unacceptable that the hotel allowed minors to stay unacccompanied by adults in large groups and large amount of groups, there was no control and that security had to be called in several times was really not something I want to try again. Minors should not be allowed.
very good breakfast , nice building, i always stay in this hotel cold, but its ok
Price-quality, very good deal
I ike the location because it is close to the musseums. It is only five blocks away. The staffs are very attentive. I did not like the street location because it is on the rough area. There is a bar across the street and you can hear the people late at night. But the prize is good.
Breakfast and the delightful staff in the dining room I have stayed frequently at this hotel this is the first time I have booked thro' booking.com and I got the worst room in the hotel! Deep in the bowels of the hotel with both dead and live cockroaches.
The building is pretty, and is in downtown, so you can get to any place nearby really easy, and everyone was really nice The parking was in a really dark street, and the bedrooms were a little bit old
Location is great, staff is very friendly
Nothing. I was angried. When I booked this hotel over the internet, I did it based on the number of stars that you give it. I don't think it is good for two stars. The bed spread was discusting, the shawer was horrible. There was not an elevator and no body helped me with my things, up to the third floor all of the above.
Beautiful old colonial building very well maintained and well run. Unfortunately we were woken between 5-6am every morning by the cleaning staff dragging the very heavy metal furniture across the stone floors in the courtyard. As we were there for a rest this was most annoying. Bed also as hard as a rock, but that seems to be the norm in Mexico. Given that it is such a nice hotel I used earplugs and bought a couple of simple pillows to lay on, and slept OK. We would recommend it to people who could cope with noise and hard beds as it is lovely and in a good location.
The location was great. The breakfast delicious and hotel staff so helpful! The rooms that fax the outside are pretty noisy at night.
The room was big with nice balcony overlooking a small plaza. It is in the historic centro, easy walking to the large plazas, shopping, internet cafe, and lots of restaurants. Great shower. Good breakfast buffet. Nice, competent staff. Pigeons.
Nothing very noisy room, and none of the staff speaks english
I recommended this hotel to every body is perfect for a trip to guadalajara
The hotel is very central and therefore a great location. The staff was always very friendly.
The location was great because it was close to churches and museums. The hot water supply was erratic. It was sometimes noisy in the evening.
By and large the hotel served my purpose in that is close to downtown Guadalajara and the accommodation is reasonable. My one string complaint is that it is noisy into the small hours of the morning and the staff seem loathe to suggest that the offending guests be more considerate. Tom Morgan
