nicely appointed rooms, great design, excellent location , good staff room too small
Rooms and location
location and cleanliness There was nowhere to put toiletries around the sink area or the bathroom
The hotel location was excellent, being close to a large amount of restaurants and shops, made exploring easy and enjoyable. The welcome at reception was poor and unfriendly. The corridors leading to the rooms were dark and dingy.
the rooms were very comfortable and clean. the location was excellent too there was not the option of food and the bar was hugely over priced. as a result we did not stay in the bar, we ate out every night
Convenience for the opera and for the Capitole
location was excellent. Bed was exceptionnally comfortable. Internet in the room was free. Apples on the pillow are much better than chocolate.
Location very central, room was excellent, staff friendly n/A
the location and the factwe didn't had to move out before 3pm the day of our departure the breakfast ( to expensive)
locality ease to get to and from airport cleanliness nowhere to sit and have coffee beer or a snack dining room very basic not enough variety fo breakfast and quite expensive for the breakfast
The comfort and standard of the rooms, and the thorough helpfulness of the staff.
fantastic shower air conditioning broken - fan worked so noisy but hot!
Breakfast is very good for price, and every room has a coffee machine (pretty good) and an excelent shower with steam. Good situation, centrical and very near of Saint Sernin, and even the danger of staying at the centre of a city, the security it's good, because the frontdesk man took us a photo when we left the hotel at night. When I made my reservation, Booking gave me the option to choose a smoking room, but at the hotel all rooms are no smoking.
central location Noisy next to bus station and some maintenance or building work in hotel. Gloomy shabby interiors and carpets. Chicken nuggets for breakfast!! in France!! Booked for 4 nights. Checked out after two.
The location was excellent, right downtown, across from the bus terminal, and within walking distance of the train station. The staff were multilingual and helpful. The room was quiet, clean and had everything we needed. The room was warmer than we like for sleeping, and one staff member directed us to the wrong bus stop to catch the airport bus.
Central position not far from station and very near the sights and metro yet very quiet room comfortable bed
Clean, no nonsense hotel. Small room facing the busterminal, but two layers of windows made the sound stay out. The parking tickets that hotel offer you cheaper is only valid for 24 hours - which they forgot to tell. So we couldn't exit the parking after 2 days ... and ended up spending more in total than if we would have used only either the hotel or the regular parking prices.
Our first assigned room was inadequate: too small, tv did not work, coffee machine did not work, the air conditioning did not work well.... We were switched for the second night to a much nicer room, and accoridng to listed price not much more than we had paid through our booking. Hotel staff was helpful and we appreciated this change, but wondered why we did not get a decent room the first night. We stay in comoft Hotels, and that room (123) does not come up to standard. A nice breakfast buffet spread and staff are friendly. See above for our comments. I would recommend this hotel with reservations about getting a decent room to begin with.
Super location in a swanky part of town, right next to the old part where you're going to spend lots of time. Loved the open balconies in the dining room and the 24-hour food and drink. Lots of thoughtful invention-type things in the rooms, such as moving the shower curtain back against the wall to make the bathroom look bigger. The shower curtains were mildewed. I mentioned it and they apologized and said they had already ordered replacements. The interior decorating in pink is pretty over-the-top, but that is a minor point.
spotlessly clean, good location
Well located to shops and attractions, walking distance to train station, good size room nicely fitted out, breakfast good, a hotel of charm and character. Would definitely stay there again.
It's professional but friendly, comfortable and very central. I've stayed at several different Toulouse hotels before, including this, and Albert 1er is the best bet.
Quiet, close to town centre.
excellent location, clean and attractive facilities, good breakfast, pleasant desk staff
The staff were very helpful and friendly!
very good location, small hotel
staff were very friendly and helpful room was very small and because I was sleeping in the child's bed I kept hitting my head on the TV when I got up
Polite staff, clean room. a bit noisy, due to the rooms are not very well isolated
The location: in the centre of town with all shops, restaurants etc at walking distance. The staff has a personal approach.
Renovated with a style
Excellent breakfast and location, very helpful staff Unattractive reception area and dinggy hallways
Location, quietness. No lift from ground floor.
The rooms are clean and nicely furnished. By french standards they are somewhat large also. The front desk were also very helpful and welcoming. The shower did spray onto the bathroom floor a little, but it wasn't really a problem.
Upgraded to best room with balcony overlooking the Basilica St Sernin square and thoroughly enjoyed the location, close to center of Toulouse yet on a quiet residential/commercial area. Entrance is a little intimidating as a modest side street walk up to second floor reception - two star but with charm and service. Good value.
Great locaiton, reasonably priced, trendy decor, great breakfast room, balcony a bonus, markets right outside the door on Sundays. Although Wifi was free, we could not connect on our notebook & staff couldn't solve the issue. No elevator to the first level (reception) entailed taking luggage up steep stairs.
the decor was charming and the view from our room (of St Sernin) could not be bettered the cramped parking and narrow entrance stairs - altho we coped with both and neither would put us off booking again
The hotel is located in typical "southern-France" tenement-house, at a small square. Rooms are small, but if you need only to sleep there, the beds are ok. Bathroom - very nice. The area (square) is full of places to eat and drink (restaurants, bars, tapas), and it seems to be a favorite place for young people from the surrounding streets. So it's quite noisy outside in the evenings. Fortunately, the aircon in rooms work silently and if you close windows, you can't hear the noise and have a peaceful sleep :-) On the other hand, if you would mix with the local people and feel the night mood of Toulouse - it's the best place possible! no place to work in the room (chair, desk), no closet for shirts and jackets (just a hanger on the floor), no place to put away the soap in the shower cabin.
Thd air conditioning worked well Narrow winding stairs to the second floor with suitcases
Very good location Room in need of modernisation and bathroom damp and needing modernised too.
I'm afraid this is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Tatty, dingy, seriously over-priced and in desperate need of refurbishment. Until then it should close or review its pricing structure - Toulouse has much better to offer.
Nice situation in the old downtown Toulouse. Near to touristic objectives. Nice and kind personnel. Fair price. no complain
nice small hotel, historic building, rennovated room, very clean, excellent value for money to me. There were still some rennovations going on on the outside of the hotel.
Excellent breakfast Rooms have not been changed in the
Great location (vibrant area, near the airport shuttle and metro; lovely walk down Rue de Taur to the Capitole). Lovely owner. Good continental breakfast with excellent coffee! The rooms are too small (In at least one, the door has to open into the hall because there is no room to open inwardly!). Square onto which the hotel faces can be very noisy. On one night there were people drinking and singing until 5:30 am. There was one day on which our room was not serviced and the towels are not changed daily.
The hotel is very well situated, right next to Capitol. I had a great room (standard room) considering the budget I allocated, but it was pure hazard as the friends I have travelled with received really small rooms (not to mention their bathrooms). The hotel has just on the entrance a 20 steps stair and no lift. When I arrived, a very nice lady – a client (!) helped me out, but did not have the same luck when I left. The hotel staff was rather polite, but not excessively.
best hotel to explore Touluse expensive brekfest
Lovely hotel with excellent staff who were very helpful and informative - thanks again for the advice! It is at an excellent location and good value for money. The bathroom was nice and spacious, but it would have been nice to have a shower curtain.
Best location, nice old downtown french building.Nice people Nice building but old.VERY Bad&annoying smell coming out of the bathroom every night we came back from our day tour --I suppose it was something due to old facilities-plumbing,certainly not dirt or something like that.Prefer a room with a window in the bathroom maybe will be better
The location is excellent, just off Capitole place, surrounded by good restaurants and easy walking distance to the main sights. Staff were friendly, my room adequate size with a balcony overlooking a quet courtyard. No hairdryer in room... but once I mentioned this at reception, they sorted the problem and gave me one for the duration of my stay. Shower was a little cramped as well.
The staff were extremely pleasant and the location was perfect entry to the shower should be just inside the door to the bathroom Not over the toilet
Location and staff Decor needs updating.
Situation in Toulouse excellent. Very good for restaurants and bars and accessible from the airport and the rail station. Ideal for a weekend rugby trip.
Our room was spacious. The beds were excellent - i woke up each morning thinking 'What a good bed!' The breakfasts were very good, - choice of cereal, yogurts (plain or flavoured), fruit, orange juice, coffee, tea, or chocolate, great baguettes, excellent croissants, jams. Helpful staff. Very satisfied.
Room was classed as a "superior double", however was a small room with a very small double bed. As we preferred twin beds, we were able to change rooms. Staff very helpful and polite. Would stay again.
The corner room with a view on the 6th floor. The floor to ceiling double glass made the room so light and gave a view through the trees, yet made the room so quiet.
Very pleasant hotel, in the center of Toulouse. Good sound-isolation, good air conditioning. The colors in the room well chosen. Nice and friendly people. Breakfast rather frugal.
The location is very central and close to both Metro lines The room is small, the desk almost absent and some smell in the room
i loved staying in Victor Hugo... the room is small, but everything else was great.. specially the guys in the reception...Imane and David were most welcoming and helpful and i loved chatting with them...location is great, room is clean and you will not be disappointed.
good value for money, helpful staff, very good location
Hotel rooms were spotlessly clean and the staff were very friendly
Location, location, location! Right in the middle of the action and there's an Irish pub right next door! I'd say a little over-price for quality. It's a hotel to use for people who prioritize location over comfort. Nothing in the real to really make you want to stay. If you're always on the run, and only use hotels to crash out, this place is ideal
I staied at the hotel 5 nights. In general everything was fine: kind stuff, the room was not posh but clean. However I missed a good table in the room, since I had to work a lot on my laptop. Also before taking shower I had to wait approximately 15 minutes before water became hot enough. But maybe this is normal for French houses... On my mind this hotel is good for holiday traveling but not for business trip.
Staff trying to do their best.. but not so easy entry door not open during most of the day. I had to stay in the city during 2 hours before entering the hotel. There is a phone number but cannot be reached when i called.
Location is good, staff helpful Not clean
Only thing that is good that hotel is in good position – near, between river and town centre. The rooms that we got were nothing like on those pictures (old, bad smell, unclean, water and electricity together). We got a new room but with big water problems (when you flushed the toilet, the water would explode from the sink making a really noisy sound and when you were showering the water didn't want to leave until you flushed the toilet). No free parking in front of the hotel! There is only the public one in front of the hotel which you had to pay, and you can not park more than 2 hours. Very loud the whole night! Hotel was in the part of the town near the river where a lot of people go out and get very, very, very drunk and in 3 or 4 A.M. they yell and scream, and are smashing bottles on the parking lot!
Friendly and helpful staff. Unfortunately, I had lots of bed bug bites as a result of my stay at the hotel.
The staff is very friendly and want to help, receptive to the guests needs. No elevator in the hotel. Not so easy to cary the luggage on the stairs. Aslo, no all the rooms are having toilet and this was not specified on the website. I booked a room with toillet and shower and at the reception it was offered first one with only shower and common toilet. It was solved, getting the one that I booked..but..
The hotel have recently been renovated so this invalidates previous comments saying that the rooms are old and dusty. The rooms are clean, small but functionnal. The location is ideal. However the rooms are noisy, lots of drunk people late at night making noise in the street. Internet/WIFI is free and fast with good reception from the room. Noise
