Good location No
Excellent location and bar with fantastic terrace overlooking the roof tops of Bologna and the two towers. Room a little small but with a very nice sized balcony.
The walls are very thin and not in the least bit soundproofed.
Good location, great breakfast Slightly unfriendly receptionist, but the location, nice room etc. more than made up for this. Also, wasn't aware that the wireless internet advertised int he rooms wasn't free
receptionist's and the bar staff was excellent. the overall friendliness of the staff made us feel very welcome. My husband really liked the scampled eggs and bacon!!! I think that if you can provide tea/coffee making facilities you should do so without the guests having to read about it after they have already paid for some.
centrally placed, nice friendly atmosphere, wonderfull terrace
ideal location for city trip, busy area with mant restaurants and bars in area. it can be noisy if you have room to front of hotel
Staff, Food & Location No Free Wireless, Small bathrooms
Location was excellent: front desk staff were helpful and welcoming. It met our needs for a central hotel. Breakfast was good, but could do with some daily variation.
The staff at the front desk were always pleasant and very helpful. And thank you for the earplugs - our room was overlooking the front square, which was often noisy at night. The earplugs blocked most of the noise.
The hotel was conveniently located, within walking distance of the Piazza Maggiore and the University. There was a fine little Trattoria nearly next door. The breakfast was one of the best I've had in Italy. Our room was all we needed for two sisters, and quite comfortable.
convenient position, quiet room, range of bread choices at breakfast
central location too much noise from club below until 2.30am
breakfast was great, desk people were good, location also good, there was a television and air conditioning and a safe
Breakfast included in price. Central location. Pub on ground level very noisy throughout Friday & Saturday nights.
Everything worked ok and was good. The level is of 3 stars, so no complains. To get more one should pay more. Too small shower cabin, no place to move and wash...
The staff was very kind and flexible. we got a delicious breakfast at 6. a.m.!! just a little bit too noisy in the night- location almost in downtown..but finally we were so tired dat it was not such a problem.
the excellent position near the University, the railway station, the city center yes, I think that they can improve the food of breakfast (more sorts of fresh cheese, vegetables, fruits)
This is a great hotel. Nice staff, nice rooms, and the location is perfect - about halfway between the train station and town hall. The breakfast was amazing like the American girls on tv say it. Not bacon & eggs, but huge selection of Italian pastries, coffee, cerials, breads...and Italian pastries. It's one of the nicest hotels I have stayed in and deserves all of it's 3 stars. There is no view because it's in the city center and there is only a small shower - no bathtub. This didn't bother us...just for your information.
Good location,10 min on feet to Piazza Maggiore. Clean, friendly staff, breakfasts ok. A bit noisy, thin walls, so if there is a 'party' ustairs you wont get much sleep. But in general a place worth recommendation.
A friendly and helpful welcome, the room was very clean and spacious with adequate facilities. Immediate access to city centre and student area location was not a problem. This is a b&b not a hotel. Parking is a problem. Sat-nav use Via de' Castagnoli, not Largo Respighi.
We were made to feel very welcome at Casa llaria. Location was great - right in amongst the exciting student area of Bologna - a beautiful and not too touristy city. A great sense of the medieval in Bologna. We could have done with some advice about good places to eat, as we looked around the back streets for a long time before finding a few restaurants as opposed to cafes. A list of suggested restaurants, a simple map showing location would be a great advantage.
Generally comfortable and the room a perfect even temperature, even without the air-con switched on. Generally relaxing atmosphere. Staff very helpful and welcoming. On occasions, the perennial hotel problem of plumbing noise from other rooms, eg other guests taking a noisy bath at 6am.
Staff were friendly, it was basic but clean Considering we were in Italy, the breakfast was a bit plastic and packaged. People nowadays are looking more for fresh and healthy.
Great location No lifts
The staff is wonderful - attentive and helpful. The receptionist spoke English and the night attendent was also excellent. The location is close to attractions but the neighborhood is so loud with students up all night screaming, police sirens, whistles blowing, that we couldn't sleep.
The staff were nice and helpfull, and the location was very central. The size of the ensuite is very small and I found it hard to access the shower in my room. Also a lift would be nice especially as myself and my daughter had a lot of baggage
The hotel is in the city center near the University. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The room was very large and comfortable. Free internet access. The day staff spoke didn't speak much English and the night staff spoke no English. This made checking in and out difficult.
large clean rooms with friendly and helpfull staff, good location and carpark
Service was personal and friendly. Staff were exceptionally helpful with enquries. Location is excellent if looking for a hotel close to all museums, city sights and shops as well as train station.
The hotel is very clean and bright. The noise from the street.
Good service in general, excellent location
near city center, nice staff
there is no one single thing nice about this hotel dont go there
Helpful and knowledgeable staff at the desk. The closeness to the centre of the City. A street full of family, local resteurants close by. small size of bedroom
The recepcionist, the neat, cozy room, the place in the city center. No.
very quiet though centrally located. beautiful, plant-flooded yard. Good pasticceria two doors left. Fair rates, flexible staff (had to book a 2nd night on arrival). Breakfast not being offered might be a non-like for some. But it's Italy and twenty yards towards the city there's the fabulous pasticceria Antica Bologna which is far better than any continental breakfast. Front desk closes at 01.00 am, keys are to be left there. As to the ants mentioned in an earlier comment: there have been three ants in the bathroom. With a window open the whole day and night. The problem seems under control.
I liked the location, cleanliness, friendliness of staff. Smoking is allowed inside, and one night I was woken up by a strong smell of cigarrette smoke which lasted all night, but it was only 1 night
Management were very friendly and helpful. Very clean and neat, In beautiful old town and easy walking distance to sights, restaurants, shops. Room overlooked a lovely courtyard garden and had great cafes nearby. Could have had tea/coffee making facilities in rooms. Ie electric kettle, cups, etc. Water in bathroom was not always very warm, in fact sometimes in evening or early morning it was not possible to have a hot shower as water was only running cold.
central position; helpful staff room with balcony over pleasant garden, so quiet. (front rooms could be noisy?) Excellent breakfast place a few doors away
It was only five minutes walk to the centre of Bologna. The rooms were very clean and the staff were friendly and helpful. Only a couple of the staff spoke English, but with my poor Italian it was not a problem. There was free internet access in the rooms (although my daughter's room was too far away from the Wi-fi hub to receive it). Brilliant when you have to keep in touch. No breakfast was served. Instead we were pointed to a local bar 20 yards away, which was good and clean, and where all the Italian locals flooded in for their breakfasts! (I.E. Coffee and a croissant)
Far from stazione centrale. Should take a bus to get hotel or 20 minute walk. Walking is hard with luggage.
Clean Absence of breakfast
Walking distance to main attractions in city centre and good value for money
Friendly staff... No major complaints
