The hotel overall is very clean and the staff are fantastic. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The elevators are slow and with a full hotel we had to wait awhile for a lift. Breakfast buffet is overpriced for the quality and selection of food.
Comfy beds, thoughtful room service. Only three elevators for 15+ floors? It was a nightmare waiting for one to come down and actually fit in one when it did. I took the stairs every time after that.
The location The room and bed were surprisingly small. Bed was about a foot off the ground. Almost like a sofa bed (without the sofa). Guessing they put us in an adjoining room to a bigger suite... which wouldn't have been as big an issue had they described it that way.
Excellent location, easily walkable to attractions, great view from upper floors. Couch was dirty and badly stained, bathroom exhaust fan didn't work but front desk made no attempt to fix, changed parking rates between booking and our stay with no notice.
Smelled musty. Very dusty room. My allergies went crazy and couldn't breath in the morning.
The eggs were disgusting and there was not a lot of options for hot food. For the cost you would think that they could have had a waffle maker.
The lobby was comfortable and inviting. The staff was kind and helpful. The pillows and beds were my favorite part.
The location is great for walking around downtown. The hotel was clean, and the associates were really friendly. Also, the fitness room has a decent amount of equipment in it which was nice. I wished that there was a sink and mirror outside of the bathroom. It would be helpful when you need to get ready and the other person staying with you can still use the restroom. Parking is expensive, especially considering that locust street garage is free on nights and weekends and that lot is right beside the Hilton lot.
It was a freezing night in Knoxville and we were so happy to find a wonderful and warm hotel!
Cleanliness, comfort and friendly staff. Rooms very spacious and comfortable. Room temperature very inconsistent. Air wouldn't cool room down
It was in a great location, and the staff was very helpful. We stayed during the week and it was very nice to be able to get a glass of wine in the bar after everything was closed. It would have been nice to have a refrigerator standard in the room. We didn't have anywhere to keep our leftovers from dinner.
The hotel staff was very friendly and the hotel itself was in great condition. Room was clean. All appliances worked. There were large dogs staying in the hotel that began barking early in the morning.
Good location. Easy to find. Could use a little face lift. Lapshades were dirty and cracked, bathroom counter had red fingernail polish on it. Hair dryer did not work. Minor problems that should have been taken care of before we go there.
We couldn't even stay at the hotel...had to cancel our reservation and move next door because the beds were unsleepable they were so uncomfortable.
Breakfast Outlets on lamps are so loose that they are not usabke
Breakfast was good but would prefer fresh fruit or yogurt option. Checkout was fast and simple. Staff was friendly. For the price, it was better than expected. Decor is dated. Wallpaper was peeling in the bathroom, moisture damage was evident in bathroom and was gross. The lock on the door wasn't secure, traveling alone I felt uncomfortable and would not stay there again.
We were just passing through very quickly on a road trip but I have never in my life been exposed to a hotel that smelled as rank as this one. I mean, it just perneated a stench unlike anything else. Do yourself a favor and AVOID.
The cost in relation to other hotels nearby and the friendless of the staff. The king size bed wasn't comfortable at all. It had a dip in the middle making it very uncomfortable to sleep on.
The staff was very friendly, especially on our second visit, remembering our names and other specifics. The check in and check out process was rapid. Located right off I 40 and conveniently in the middle of a bunch of very good restaurants and useful stores.
Location Old bathroom, rust . Outdated room. Found a bug in the room.
The man that was working on Friday was very enthusiastic and so nice!! The lady working to night shift at the front desk on Friday night was rude.
Very clean, wonderful staff, excellent location to the downtown activities. The pool was smaller than I would have expected from such a nice hotel. There was no hot tub or sauna.
Staff was friendly and room was cosy. Charged for parking
Liked the on-site dining and bar. Site is quite and family friendly. Bathrooms a little cramped in rooms. Needs better space utilization.
The shuttle took us right down to the old city where all the venues are and picked us up, but only till 11pm. Unfortunately the festival ran later than that. In an effort to ease the hangover on the second morning of the festival, we went to the restaurant at about 11 am, and the bar was closed. We asked for a mimosa and a bloody Mary and waited about 15 minutes with no drink. We went outside after we gave up and the server chased us down, offering the drinks on the house, but we were just over it at that point. One time before i stayed here and was having sex with my girlfriend and the manager actually called the room when we were done and asked us to keep it down. Thin walls, apparently. II'm going to the Hilton next time I stay in Knoxville.
It was clean and well lit, the decor was very elegant. That's about it, the rest a collection of minor aggravations coupled with a major safety issue. 1) I had to pay for parking and told to park on top of the garage out in the weather while people who were paying to park for a local sporting event were allowed to park inside the garage. 2) The windows to the room were poorly sealed and even with the thermostat set at 80 the room was miserably cold. When I called the front desk to request another blanket, I was told there was an additional charge. 3) The entrances and sidewalks are poorly lit and the curbs painted a dark gray color. Upon returning from dinner, a short walk up the street and much later in the evening, I nearly broke my ankle when I thought I was stepping off of the sidewalk but was stepping half-way off of the curb, nearly falling in the process (no alcohol was involved). This needs to be addressed as a serious safety issue. 4) If a hotel is going to offer room service, dirty dishes need to be picked up promptly, not left in the hallway outside the room for hours and hours. This was the first and last time I ever stay at this facility and we travel A LOT.
We were in room 717. Brawling in the next room (715) brought management up twice. (Someone else called the management.) Dog barking down the hall. A party down the hall broke up at 2:30 in the morning with much shouting. In the room, lumpy old bed, peeling wallpaper, old mismatched furniture and lamps in the room. I have photos. We stay there every December when we visit family. This is our first bad experience. Do not accept a room on the 7th floor!
When I entered the Crowne Plaza on a Friday night the lobby smelled overwhelmingly of fish. There was a buffet on the next floor up that was the cause of the odor. I know there was lots of fish because when I asked if they had any vegetarian options I was offered many species of fish. I was shocked that the staff at a restaurant wouldn't understand what a vegetarian is. I normally travel with my husband who has life threatening food allergies. I would not have trusted this uneducated staff to properly ensure that his food was safe. I ordered instead from room service. The options were not impressive but I opted for pizza. I asked for "light cheese". It was repeated back to me correctly. I received a pizza with extra cheese and no sauce. I ended up ordering delivery food from outside the restaurant in order to get an edible meal. That was made difficult by a horrible WiFi in the room. It crashed 3 times in the course of my order. I won't be back.
Beds very soft, pillows very nice
Food in restaurant was sub par
Nothing special about this place except the price. The location was not as close to our destination as we were told. Staff always seemed busy chatting with each other. Entrance ramp and deck area difficult. Way over priced for what you get. No place to walk dogs.
Love the lobby! It's luxurious and makes the guest feel more sophisticated. The bathrooms were also top notch. The toilet was very loud when it flushed not allowing for quick middle of the night restroom trips without disturbing your significant other. The hotel room doors need hydraulics. Other guests slammed the doors and it was VERY loud. I understand people are having a good one but it should be quiet after a certain point. Hydraulics on the doors would fix that!
Parking was confusing.
It was clean and decent value for the money. There weren't enough parking spots when we were turning down for the night, so we parked in the garage on the curb. If we pay $10/night, we'd like to be assured an actual parking spot.
I booked the room the day of at 1125PM planning to arrive at 3 AM. The first thing the staff told me was that I'd probably be charged again bc they wipe the previous day's reservations at 2AM. They kept saying if I didn't use your website and booked through them then it wouldn't be an issue but they made sure to be clear that using the third party site was not the way to do it. Thankfully I wasn't charged twice but please indicate this timing issue and the need to call if you'll be arriving late on your website so people are aware. It was a very stressful first encounter and I was unsure if they'd charge me again until the morning.
I like the non-smoking environment all the building. And very clean room too. The room is so small compare with what it displayed on website.
All around great stay...it was easy to locate, clean, friendly place to stay.
Nice selection of foods offered. Everything was fresh and delicious. The fresh fruits were nice. The plastic cutlery is an absolute joke. It was so flimsy and awkward to hold. Almost impossible to cut a slice of bacon. Absolutely useless for trying to cut a waffle. I had two knives break cutting a waffle. Also, the foam plates are thin. I sliced right through the plate, leaking waffle syrup onto the table top. For a few dollars you could upgrade to a nice chinette style plate, and decent cutlery.
The location was nice and the lobby looks nice. The room size was nice and the bathroom was just fine. Our room smelled funny. We had to spray perfume to help. The beds sunk in the middle and the furniture was in bad shape, stained and tore up.
Did not have coffee maker in room but had coffee. Treadmill in workout room did not work. Did not bottle water @ store at check in & when asked if vending machines on floor staff at desk could not tell me. When told staff at check out about coffe pot & treadmill (and these are important to me) did not even offer an apology.
Bed was comfortable Carpets were very stained as was the couch and smal seat in the room.
Warm interior finishes and decorating, room well stocked with useful furnishings, friendly and efficient front desk staff, reasonable price and good value. Bathroom ceiling had not been fully repaired after water leak.
Location, easy to find. Friendly staff at check in, beds were comfortable and clean hotel. Breakfast was good, typical but good. The lady at the desk was very helpful in assisting us finding a place to have dinner that night. Nice to have a smiling face at check in!
Staff was very kind Parking lot doesn't have a lot of spaces near the front
Very clean, friendly staff, nice bot breakfast The beds were uncomfortable for those with bad backs. Firm mattresses with no padding/pillow top made for sleepless night
The pullout couch that my son slept in was extremely uncomfortable - not acceptable for an otherwise pleasant experience.
The size and comfort of the room.
It was clean, fresh, beautiful and the breakfast was excellent!
The housekeeping staff were the most pleasant, welcoming and engaging staff. The valet staff and front desk staff need guest interaction training. The valet staff do not provide a warm welcome and need training on looking at guests when speaking rather than looking past guests. The front desk staff need to be trained on providing a warm welcome. A simple smile and "Welcome to the Hilton Garden Inn. How may I help?" Having stayed at many Hilton properties throughout the world, the Knoxvilee Hilton Garden Inn/University and Knoxville Downtown Hilton properties appear to have the worst management and many poorly trained staff.
Breakfast was a bit weird. Confusing and understaffed. The folks that were working were great, just not enough of them. Thought $12 was a bit much for what Is usually a complimentary breakfast in similar settings.
very nice and convenient place to stay.
Friendly staff, good location, clean, will stay there again when in the area
They have a security guard that walks the lot at night. It's good if you're traveling with equipment or gear you can't bring to your room. The pillows and bed linens were not very comfortable and felt cheap. I've stayed in similar places at similar prices and their bedding was much better.
We stayed at Country Inn on our way to Florida and on our way back. On our way there the staff was absolutely amazing. So friendly and it was a nice welcome after a 9 hour drive with two kids. On the way back in Knoxville, the staff was a little rude. They seemed bothered that we were checking in which was a little annoying. But overall it was a nice hotel.
Right off the interstate with more eating choices than you could ever use. Very comfortable beds
Rooms were great, breakfast was wonderful, staff was awesome!
Very pleasant staff Breakfast was not that good.
Very clean, rooms are well designed (I.e. furniture, decor, etc.), day staff very professional and friendly, only 10 minutes from downtown Knoxville (Market Square, Old City, etc.), quiet during our visit. Pool was sufficient so long as there were only a few people in it. Hot tub in pool area was nice. Pool is much smaller than the pictures really present it.
It was quiet, clean, comfortable, and convenient. Thank you for everything!
The young man who checked us in the evening we arrived was quite informative, kind and helpful. I was very pleased with his pleasant and professional manner. Our room was very clean, decorated nicely and well-appointed. i would definitely stay here again. Being gluten-intolerant, there wasn't much I was able to eat for breakfast.
Needed better breakfast wasn't a big enough selection
Right off I-75 Where to begin? It took a half hour to check-in, even though there were only 2 people in front of me. After the long wait I was greeted with "someone already checked-in under your name". I produced my drivers license and the receptionist joked "just kidding". All this in between talking to her boyfriend who was hanging out in the lobby and continued to do so for the entire evening. After going to the room we were greeted with holes in the walls and holes in the walls that had been haphazardly patched. Upon taking a shower I learned there was no screen in the drain. Just an open hole. The shower had ZERO water pressure. You had to put your head against the wall to get your hair wet because it was dribbling straight said down. The next morning for breakfast there was no chance at getting anything to eat. Apparently there was a large team of some sort that had the entire breakfast area occupied plus had over a dozen waiting to get in. The entire stay was a nightmare. Never again will I stay at a Best Western.
Room was very clean. Beds were very comfortable. Bathroom was clean. Short and sweet. I was over charged for the room by $30. I will not be booking through Kayak anymore.
I liked the room size I didn't like the hard bed. The bathroom was small. Tub would not drain. The desk attendant was hard to find.
Good location. Clean hotel. Good breakfast. Great rooms. Great staff. Will continue to use this hotel on every trip to Knoxville. Minor issue! To get to the laundry room, you have to walk outside. Costs for washer and dryer are not clearly posted.
The breakfast was awesome. The chef, was very friendly and accommodating. Overall the entire staff at this location was friendly. The room was also very nice The refrigerator seemed to malfunction.
The hotel was very nice and clean. I loved the fitness center and the breakfast buffet. Everyone working there was very nice and helpful.

I really enjoyed the bed. We had a wedding reception and I was very tired. When I finally got to bed, it was the most restful night I've had in a long time. NO!!

The breakfast buffet put it over the edge--it was delightful. The suite was a nice touch, making it more comfortable for our family of 5. They were willing to switch us to a 2-bed room when. We requested it, which we appreciated.
I loved the huge shower in the bathroom. The saltwater pool was awesome, too. The beds are very comfortable. The made to order omelets were delicious! They also have a meet and greet every evening from 5:30 to 7:00 with complimentary drinks. There was nothing I did not like about this hotel.
The people were very nice and the guy at the made to order grill was AMAZING.
The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Menu limited and just a little high.
The ribbon on the pillows saying they were soft, the bathroom, the shower, the lobby.
First floor easy access that were requested. Didn't realize there would be over 15% service tax or that there was a $50 pet fee. Was not easy to get to. Ended up paying $152.08 for one night stay! Will not stay there again! Also would not allow 20% discount coupon at restaurant since we couldn't eat in restaurant because of pet.
Terrible, dirty, lacking in facilities
Location was excellent. Need to get rid of the carpet. It was old, smelly, and dirty. Air conditioner in first room didn't work. Had to move to another room next day. It was a little better. Place needs to be upgraded.
We enjoyed staying at the Red Roof Inn. Great value- rooms were clean, desk clerk was friendly and hotel was easy to find. Will definitely stay again. N/A
Not much. Older hotel and it showed. The air conditioning in the room did not work. Despite arriving and the thermostat set on 62....the room never got below about 78 making sleeping incredibly uncomfortable. I called the front desk to see if there was a solution but the hotel was full and they did not have any fans. I will not stay at this hotel again.
The staff was super friendly. We were in town for a football game. The hotel had cookies with our team colors for us upon check in. Great shuttle service to and from the game.
Location, friendly staff, comfy beds, clean hotel, awesome view on riverside everything but Internet was pleasant! Internet speed was dismal, was capped at 2down 2 up. This is pathetic for a $13 a day service. This should be improved upon. I do hotel IT and know this could be better. This should be looked into.
The hotel is beautifully decorated and has a luxury feel. The staff are warm, courteous, and attentive. The room was clean, well appointed, and had a fantastic view of the river. The room could have used a mini fridge. For the price, one expects a mini fridge.
We traveled to 6 different floors searching for a soft drink. All vending machines were sold out!!
Bed was very comfortable. the architecture of the place was great. walking distance to the riverfront and stadium were key. a refrigerator in the room would be nice. Hotel seemed a little old so the shower head was too low. internet was pricey at 12.99/day
The cleanliness of the room was nice. The breakfast was suitable. The three ants my wife disposed after mashing them were a little disgusting to endure. The bed pillows were small.
We went to Knoxville for a UT game. There were 3 of us in a room with two queens. We had plenty of room and had a great stay.
Lemongrass across the street serves amazing Thai food.
Clean, nice and comfortable. Mattress could be softer, but not bad.
Comfy beds for picky sleepers!
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The staff was new who checked me in. However, he asked me for my credit card again although I pre-paid for my reservation. He was telling that I needed to pay again and it wasn't until he asked the manager for help, who told him to give me my keys. Other than that, it was a relaxing stay. If you have an important event or bar/medical exam and need to book a hotel, maybe try a different hotel that won't give you problems the night before.
Consistently missed replenishing supplies such as soap and lotion.
The staff was great especially Josh and the room was clean and comfortable.
Some of the staff was friendly and helpful. When booking, there was no mention of getting a smoking room. The whole floor reeked of smoke, and the room was unbearable. On top of that, refrigerator didn't function. The front desk was particularly unconcerned when we asked about getting another room and inquired about the fridge.
Clean room, friendly staff, and quiet atmosphere made this hotel the perfect pit stop. Access to it was hard to find, not the hotel's fault.
Good value. Great location
Very nice and clean Walls very thin...could hear everything in next rooms.
The front desk receptionist really seemed to hate her job. We asked for suggestions on where to eat and she acted as if she was annoyed that she had to answer our question. Breakfast in the morning was bare and didn't look appetizing.
Room was comfortable; staff were very friendly; breakfast was good. A very very pleasant stay Nothing
Breakfast buffet Beds were comfortable
I had stayed in 3 different hotels in the same weekend. This one by far was the best. Very clean, hall smelled like smoke, but the room did not. Room did not show signs of wear. Comfortable beds, a little too soft for me. Room great use of space, didn't feel cramped, large bathroom. Microwave & fridge in room. Loved that there was a small counterspace above the fridge. Microwave was in a shelf attached to the wall. Fridge had nice shelves and crisper drawer so items fit better in the fridge. Location perfect, just off the highway. Gas and fast food very close to the hotel. Breakfast was good. A fitness room and pool were available. Staff fairly friendly, when I checked in I wasn't told where the elevator, fitness room, etc. were, the attendant yelled that the elevator was the other way when I went the opposite way. This was the cheapest hotel I stayed in and it had the most amenities. Would have been helpful to have a couple more plugs near the bed. I had to unplug the alarm clock to plug in my phone.
Great comfy clean place. Good breakfast and friendly staff (except the day manager who was a raging b-hole) The day Manger lady was terrible. She was very vocal and mean about her unliking of the low rates we got and how annoying it is to her for people to book online. She tried to charge us twice and argued with us about what we said and what we did. It was insane!
Great room, very comfy. Friendly staff (except the day manager) The day manager at this hotel was very very rude that we got our reservation online and that we got such a discount. She repeatedly commented on how annoying it is when people book online and pay so little. She was crazy crazy rude when we checked out. She tried to charge us twice for the room and argued with us for over 20 mins abut weather the charge was already taken off our credit card. Also, she made us pay $15 upfront saying it was for in case we decided to steal anything. And the tub was broke.
