The staff are charming and the hotel is in the centre of Montparnasse. Vastly over priced.
reception can speak english :-) / Breakfast is very nice parking is too narrow :-)
The staff was knowledgeable, spoke English well and were always ready to give advice.
It was a placed in a very good location, near the metro stops, near to shops and restaurants so making it very accessible to the city centre. Staff were very helpful and spoke very good English, would recomment to anyone, and would to back. Clean room and good sized ensuite, very adequate for our needs, cot in our room for our toddler also. Could not recommend it enough. Breakfast was pricey but we choose to go to a nearby cafe which was very good.
The helpful and professional attitude of the staff Room was small
We were pleased overall, but we were especially grateful for the very helpful staff.
Excellent staff, clean and comfortable rooms, good facilities and superb location. The only mirrors in the hotel room were in the bathroom which made getting ready a bit more time consuming.
Staff was most helpful, a real strength. Honors bar, not dining facility but many great places within the block. Proximity to the intersection of Respail and Montparness boulevards is a real asset. Not exactly 'didn't like' but rooms were a bit small, not unusual for an urban European hotel. Some wear and tear but nothing serious.
Friendly and helpful staff. Free internet access. Afternoon tea and coffee in the lounge. For a small street it was surprisingly noisy.
location, hotel honesty bar, ambience and decor, helpful staff no
romantic decor ,very clean , helpful staffs, new appliances , free tv internet in your room! , strategic neighbourhood , easy access everywhere. small room , but sigh ... this is paris ...
Staff spoke English and French professionally. Hotel was clean and no non-sense. I don't like how city taxes are not included in the initial hotel price. This is more a problem with French regulation than with the particular hotel. All hotels in France seem to do this.
Loved the shower and bathroom. Bed was also good. No real free TV channels available
Clean large rooms, friendly staff Wifi was tough to navigate, but worked well.
The view from our room was beautiful, the location was close to everything. Appreciate the security since being down town elevators only worked with room key. For someone who does travel solo at times this was a nice peace of mind. Staff was wonderful and accommodating.
quiietness inside the hotel, approximate to public transortations
The Location is good and the staff are freindly Nothing
Excellent staff and the hotel is clean and modern. Good location with nice resturants and theaters nearby.
Availability of triple room. Breakfast included Room tight.
Noise from the road
The room size was good, comfortable beds, shower and bath and two sinks were great and the buffet breakfast. There were cafes nearby. The separat toillette had an offensive sewer smell.
breakfast too expensive
The location was very close to the major attractions in Paris. Rooms were small but clean and newly renovated. The parking was for compact cars only. The fire alarm went off at 0300 in the morning for almost two consecutive hours.
Nearness of the metro Room was too hot at night with no control over temperature; maid walked in without knocking or announcing; towel warmer did not work; new internet password needed daily - not explained at check in; only one elevator worked
The location is good - within meters of the Gaite metro (line 13) and a short walk from the Montparnasse railway station. Service and facilities are at par with Parisian hotels available at significantly lower prices. I was mislead by the good reviews on this site. Maybe I was just unlucky with the room. It was #104.
Staff were very accommodating, location was excellent for our needs.Hotel currently in final stages of renovations, very pleased with cleanliness of room. The rooms were small, but more than suitable for a short stay.
Nice room, convenient for metro, pleasant staff. The lift seems to be directly over a drain!!
The location was safe and convenient, front desk personnel was polite and friendly, the room was clean, the bathroom was designed nicely, the breakfast was reasonably priced (and basic). Small room (seems to be the norm in Paris)
My wife and I stayed in this hotel in November 2010 because it is conveniently located with respect to the apartment where our son and his wife live. However, Paris is a small city and this hotel is only 2km from Notre Dame and 2km from the Eiffel Tower, so it is pretty central. There are several Metro stations close by and, of course, the famous Paris bicycles. We really liked the hotel The staff were very friendly and spoke perfect English - they also put up with our attempts to converse with them in French. The hotel obviously has been recently renovated. Our room was nicely decorated, very clean with a modern bathroom and separate toilet. The room was fairly small but you don't come to Paris to sit in your hotel room! Good value. Nothing that we didn't like.
Close to a metro station and easy to find. Very limited facilities, very small room, gave the impression of being run on a budget
The location is good, 200 m far from the underground stattion of Edgar. The area is full of bar and restaurant where is possible to have the "petit dejeuner", the breakfast for 5/6 euros. The lights in the room where not enought, it was difficult to see inside my bag! The breakfast is crazily expensive (21 euros/head!) When we arrived they gave us a room with 2 bads instead of 1 double bad, and i had to ask for it and they gave us a new room.
The hotel is very stylish and chique in a fantastic location in the centre of Montparnasse. The bed was very comfortable, and the bathroom was beautiful. The breakfast looked a bit sparse and expensive, so we gave it a miss. The noise from the street cleaners and bottle bank emptiers was very loud!
All of the above, plus location and the breakfast.
It was easy to access transportation and move around the city. The rooms were too warm with no A/C. The street next to the windows were too noisy to open the window to cool the room.
hotel stuffs are helpfull elevator is very slow
Small and modern hotel with good service. No free wireless internet.
problem with car parking
Cant beat the location for access to transit and dining out.
modern design, clean rooms substandard breakfast in small, unpleasant room in the basement
Staff was very nice No
Very nice hotel! Had a specious room (at leats for Paris), Provides fast internet access (both WIFI and cable). Because the hotel is fairly new, the equipment was so too. Excellent breakfast buffet. Will come again.
Centre of paris
Well located and public parking nearby They have renovated rooms, which you can see on the website, but in case you book you'll get the non renovated ones. These are old and totally outdated! Big discrepancy between the room types. In case you manage to get another room they charge extra!
Comfortable hotel in a central location with easy acess to eating out and transport
The breakfast buffet was very good. Just the right selection of food. Internet worked well. Would like the ability to print material at a work station. Hotel staff were able to print boarding passes for us. Room was a bit small and we would have really enjoyed a room with a balcony.
The hotel was very clean and well kept, and was in a central location with lots going on. The staff were all very pleasant and helpful. The hotel provided free internet access and the receptionist even printed off our online flight boarding passes on his own computer. Excellent hotel!
Location Noise from fittings & other guests
the location was great, the room very clean, the staff very helpfull and nice. did not eat breakfast - too expensive - nice places to have breakfast around. room in the back of hotel - very quite. I stayed in a supirior room did not see others. I chose it because of the price and location and I got a very good value for my money.
Nice location, room was clean, internet access was available Room was small, unfortunately all Paris hotel rooms are rather small.
position of the hotel entrance too small; lift too small
It is very well located. The doors od the wardrobe were destroyed, and the aspect were not nice.
Location was ideal, and great breakfast. Room was quiet. Except for the Barman, the staff were excellent. The room was pretty basic, TV channels useless for non French speakers, and getting a drink in the bar nearly impossible, either because nobody was there, or it had closed early!
Good and helpful staff, nice room, comfortable bed
Nice sized room, pleasant staff, location ok, close to trains & quiet, good internet access & air conditioning Standard room rates a bit high for location & quality; also high charge for breakfast
spacious room and bath. cleanliness and good service Not very central.
Staff where fantastic, giving advice and organizing outings/things we wished to do (even before we had arrived my wife had contact then and they organized dinner reservations at our favorite restaurant and a night out). we where in europe for a month and this hotel although was the most expensive was the least impressive (i think that might be Paris hotels in general though)
Clean rooms, good pricing, good location Electronic card key lock, all keys had to be reprogrammed due to booking inconsistencies.
the comfortobility and its closest to the center there was just a hot water in bath, no cold one
the location was excellent, how the room was furnished and its atmosphere.
Location. It was a convenient walk (20 minutes?) to museums; shopping was nearby The hotel had no restaurant. Also, the small bar had no bartender one night during my stay, so I could not get a glass of wine to sip while I worked on my computer.
Everything was excellent
Standard basic Paris Hotel - What I expected
Receptionists were really helpful. Room was small but confortable, after all we dont go abroad to spend a lot of time in the hotel room!
Very interesting and practical location. Can find nice places to eat and visit nearby. Really good deal aftter having been looking for a place to stay on the Internet for days... The decoration could be slightly renovated but, hey, can't ask for much more according to regular Paris fares...
It's location and friendly staff. N/A
Close to Gare Montparnasse
too small rooms and moderate outlook
Close to Gare Montparnesse (train station) and Montparnesse Bienvenue (Metro station). Lot's of choices for restaurants around area. Little Boulanger 1/2 a block down on the corner. A little run down. Pretty small room. TV did not get all the channels it was supposed too.
This hotel is right in the centre of the Montparnasse district, yet on a quiet road just off the main drag. Perfect location and simple, unassuming service. The bathrooms aren't luxurious, but perfectly adequate for a night or two.
Location, Superior room is great value for money
Good location & staff were very friendly I didn't think it was particularly good value - the room looked like a 2 star room. The bathroom was excellent though, must have been redone recently.
location close to metro station room too small, price a bit expensive for the location
Great location. Helpful staff. Room somewhat small, though probably not by Paris standards.
Excelent localization, a few steps from the metro station (Montparnasse). At weekends there is a lovely popular market a hundred meters from the hotel. Little room. It could be cheaper.
Soundproof windows; Lively Montparnasse neighborhood; Close to Air France bus to CDG and Orly airports; Very clean; Excellent service. N/A
Cleanliness, location room was tiny though everything available, noisy doors
The location On entering the room smelt like wert socks. I made sure I aired the room when i arrived and then had the window open partly at night but when i came back from being out the smell was still there.
Well situated. Ideal for exploring Paris - no shortage of places to eat nearby.Lively atmosphere on weekend. Walls a bit thin and rooms quite small.
Comfortable & clean room also bath room Clenaing of the room and bathroom was not good, they did not change towels everyday. In spite of declaration there was no iron, hair dryer in the room
Location and room had small balcony Hotel room was ugly and poorly maintained. Very very low budget
The Berkeley was in a lively area of Paris with easy connections to other area.
Excellent location! Though they showed 'Free Internet Connection', which actually the reason why I chose the hotel, they confirmed it was not working.
Rooms good, nice location but can be noisy but not a problem for good sleepers. Advertised for 75 euros on website and I walked in to reception one evening to book room for the following week and quoted 99 euros at desk but it was lowered to 86 euros when I expressed surprise at the cost.
Many things in the room did not function properly. The noise from the street, in particular around 5-6 in the morning was immense.
At last I found a nice hotel to stay in downtown Paris.
My room was facing to the station side.Unfortunately the Europe Cup was held and the supporter was so noisy.
Great location, newly-renovated single room (much better than photo on website), balcony, excellent value for money Small bed
The location of the hotel is convenient for the metro. The staff were polite and helpful; I was able to obtain a map and information about opening times of a museum from the receptionist. The room was small, dimly lit and sparsely furnished. The size of the room was restricted due to a sloping roof. The bed was not at all firm and quite uncomfortable. The breakfast was overpriced and very meagre. The wireless internet did not work and when I told a member of staff about this she made no attempt to resolve the problem.
The location (Montparnasse) was very convenient for my purposes. One member of staff tried to be helpfull with information about the area. Cleanliness of the bathroom. It was full of mould and the ventilation was poor. The bed (and the room as whole) was too small.
Very loud, we hear everything (tv-shower-toilett-alarm-clock) from the other room and from outside
Central location. Very unfriendly staff, very bad value for money
The Unic Renoir was a great hotel. Very close to Monparnasse and a short walk to the city. Good position also for the Eiffel Tower.
There was a change of management during my 7 day stay with a noticeable change in service at the front desk. It was too late to do anything about the room decor. I would have moved hotel but there where no alternatives. The paint work needed a refresh and the bathroom needed gutting
Nothing! Absolutely nothing! The room is the size of a shoe box, staff is very very unpolite and not helpful at all, elevator is tiny and no internet available in the loby and you have to pay to acess it from your room.Be aware that the photos from the website had nothing to do with the real hotel room!!!
The breakfast and the common area is nice The rooms are too small and not well furnished
good location, efficient staff small rooms and thin walls, kept awake by the guy next door snoring
The bathroom was quiet new and clean Too small room (it is bigger on the photos). Small cabine of douche. Poor and smelly gardrobe.
Proximity of the theatres
The fact that we arrived late and left early. The hotel is quite run down and dilapidated. the room was very cramped and the en suite facilities miniscule. The staff had done their best to clean the very scruffy room but were obviously fighting a losing battle. The pictures on the Bookings.com website are misleading as they were obviously taken many years ago and maintenance since had been minimal. We had planned to to stay there on our return to Paris but cancelled the booking and found another, a vastly superior, hotel with more facilities for the same price
The rooms a little small and not too much space for the suitcases. I had a bad experience with one of the concierges. When my father wasn't feeling well and had to stay all day long at the hotel, I asked for a lamp for the night table and he came up with the lamp and screaming that the hotel wasn't a hospital. The next morning I tried to talk with the other concierge, but he was alone and very busy.
The central location - just a cross the road from Montparnasse Tower - easy acces to Metro, and a lot of good shops, bars and restaurant just outside the hotel. Not luxury, but nice and clean. A little bit worn-out, small rooms.
good location, friendly english speaking staff, nice clean bathrooms tiny lifts, boring breakfast
Everything was very good. Good location close to shopping street, plenty of reataurants around with quite goof French food. Close to all famouse places of Paris. Hotel clean, not noisy, not looking to that that windows go out to bussy street. Everything is good Just price I think is too big.
cleanliness of room and reception staff no tea & coffee in room
The staff was very kind and helpful
Location, Metro station was right out the front door, took us everwhere we wanted to go. I misunderstood the desk staff when I was told there was complimentary drinks in the hotel frig. Complimentary in the states means "free" ....I know now that it means a full compliment.
Excellent location, a very convenient metro station nearby the door, rooms though a little small well decorated, nice and helpful staff Paying awfully expensive Wifi
Good location. Lots of stores and restaurants. Good bed and shower. Helpful staff. All Paris hotel rooms ave very small, and this was no exception. We faced the back, which was very quiet.
Small, clean, secure and well located. Rumble - noise from metro.
Friendly helpful staff, good location, clean bathroom Overpriced for standard of accomodation. Room is far too small to be advertised as a Twin Room. No air conditioning.
Small rooms, a little expensive - but great location! Easy walk to St. Germain des Pres...
good location, polit staff, clean small room
Décor, staff, good location, quiet rooms. Really enjoyed it. Price of the internet (hoe much??!) and breakfast.
The staff were pleasant and very helpful.
Convenient for touring Paris, between three metro stations, restaurants near by, very friendly hotel. Breakfast was a bit expensive but lots of it.
very friendly atmosphere, very clean and comfortable. Great location. the room was a bit small
Beautiful rooms, small but perfectly formed! Small compared to a uk hotel room but for Paris - totally normal. Very well decorated, nice toiletries, daily room servicing, bathrobes, comfortable bed. Wonderful, helpful staff. great location for St Germain, St Michel, Montpernasse - so close to tube/underground. No complaints! I absolutely loved the hotel - the staff are wonderful, my only gripe would be feeling the tube/underground from our room! It did interrupt my sleep but that's the price you pay for such a central hotel. Location on the cusp of St Germain de Pres and Montpernasse was perfect.
Excellent staff; fresh flowers as decoration, clean and tidy rooms. Better choice of breakfast food is required. We missed fresh vegetables, hot food.
boutique feel, good quality finishes, quiet location but very centrally located for montparnasse/st germain des pres etc bathroom tends to flood when using mixer shower over bath as shower guard too short, not even covering 1/2 the length of the bath.
The staff is wonderful and helpful! The sheets and pillow cases were not clean sometimes.
