value for money
Position excellent-very important as we travelled by train.
Comfort, good location, friendliness of staff, ease of parking, view from room None
Closeness to city centre and train station the lifts were bad! very slow! and hairdryer was not user friendly. needed a plug socket beside bed and underneath dressing table.
Location and free parking. Both were conveinient for my business trip Room was not 'Superior' and was told by staff that 'All our rooms are superior'
Ideally positioned in centre. Clean Quite and comfortable.Bedroom and leisue facilities excellent Staff helpful well worth £10.00 per room more than travelodge would definately recommend Oh and free parking in city centre priceless!
Really nice hotel with friendly staff. Very close to town centre and easy to get to by road. Lovely warm, clean rooms and comfy beds. Would definitely stay again. none
Lifts are very small (perhaps accomodating 2 people and luggage) On this occasion and a previous visit 1 of the 2 lifts was under repair which meant we had to lug our cases down to reception from the 7th floor. Not ideal.
Clean, confortable room with friendly staff
Courteous staff and a lovely room. Very clean and the bed was really comfy. Was not able to use the phone in the room without a credit card (I wanted to pay cash).
Excellent room with views over the marina. Particularly liked the terraced area overlooking the beach. Service in the restaurant could be improved.
Location was easy to find. Hotel reception staff were excellent, especially as they had no notice of my booking
all in all the hotel staff were helpful Yes i paid for this hotel for a friend to stay in who came down from London she checked in very late, when she eventually, unpacked i meet her or a drink to go over the following days proceedings in court, I left to my home and received a call telling me that she had went to use the bath room and found a condom floating in the toilet, Due to the late hour she wished not to cause any problems.I apologised to her and said i will take this up as soon as i can. I am sure this is an oversight but still very embarrassing for me as i had paid and booked this hotel for a friend who was down to give me support and evidence while my court case was on going. Regards Mr Scott
Very comfortable well designed, stylish room.
Efficiency, restaurant staff charming Food offering pedestrian
The staff and food at the Bar was very good (see note below) about the Restaurant. Evening Food at the Restaurant was appalling. It's a shame that there is no lounge area overlooking the sea.
The swimming pool The milk allocation for the in room tea / coffee was a bit stingey.
Helpfulness of staff.Comfortable beds and exellent food. Limited tv channels.
Staff very helpful. Extremely good location. Room not ready despite arriving after the check in time
Comfortable bed, nice decor, no carpet on floor, reasonable price.
Clean, modern and bright feel to hotel. Comfortable bed and everything we needed . The staff were friendly and helpful. Good location and I agree about Park and Ride should be more advertised - excellent service to centre of Swansea. Reception area was a bit too open and too close to the bar, I would prefer a more private lobby area.
The price of the room only was reasonable. Extremely dissatisfied with breakfast, It was cold, the bacon over-cooked and not value for money.
It was quite close to the area of Swansea I wanted No comlaints
The room was lovely and very modern. No.
It was a nice hotel apart from the fact that it was freezing cold! My wife and I had to keep our coats on in the restaurant as we waited an eternity for our meal.
location Sub standard accomodation - poor state of repair - cold room
Not very clean. Staff mostly indifferent with one member very ignorant & rude. Food supposed to be available till 10 but most of menu not available at 9 on our first night, tried breakfast following morning but ate out after that. Will stay elsewhere next time we go to Swansea
Convenient and clean. Felt like a better hotel than it really was. Unusually uncomfortable bed. Felt worn out and in need of replacement.
Appreciated coffee shop and excellent gym facilities
The noisy music
room excellent and all arwas of hotel very good it was a pleasure to have the choice of a full english breakfast surrounding area a bit like a building site but this will be rectified soon a bit confusing finding way into car park
The room was very spacious. The staff on the desk when we checked were not very helpful, it was very rushed and I didn't get a satisfactory answer to a payment query I had.
Clean. Brand new hotel. Good Breakfast choice T.V. in room good
The room was spacious and the gym facilities were excellent. The breakfast had a wide selection of hot and cold food. There was a constant noise from the air conditioning/heating even though it was not switched on - solved only by disabling the power. The pub had run out of bitter and half of its menu was off. We ordered fish and chips but were given fries - the food was basic to say the least. In the restaurant we ordered a medium-rare steak which was well-done and took 30 minutes to arrive. The restaurant was closed on Sunday evening, not what I expect from a 4 star hotel. There was a lack of visitor information in the room and hotel reception, e.g. no town centre map.
Fantastic hotel with excellent service
Excellent breakfast. Staff polite Some noise from bar area on one night only. Room was on top floor above reception area.
Easy going but lively. It buzzed with people who all seemed to be enjoying their stay whether for business or pleasure.
I enjoyed the relaxed yet professional atmosphere of the hotel The service for breakfast on the Saturday morning was poor, I had to ask for plates on the hot plate and the table next to us was empty for a long while and had not been cleared the whole time we dined.
It was easy to navigate all areas & the staff were very helpful
Very homely and welcomeing. Rooms are massive and clean. Great service. Inside the kettle was scummy.
Clean & Friendly Parking can be difficult
The hotel staff was friendly and with very good servies. The room was very nice, comfortable and clean. It was a very god hotel that I and my familiy will coming back to soon. I like everything.
Excellent service, room and breakfast. Felt very welcome, a home away from home. Nothing, everything was excellent.
The proprieters were courteous, helpful and friendly. The hotel was very comfortable and clean and everthing was provided even phone chargers and umberellas! Just a little bit too far away from the centre of Swansea.
Very friendly staff and good location. Breakfast was great as well
I think that the Alexander is one of the best hotels in England. It's extremely clean and the breakfast is simply delicious.
The staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome from the moment we arrived. The food was lovely. The hotel itself had such a homely feel to it. A home away from home. I can't think of one bad point to write about!
A friendly welcome and helpful staff with spotlessly clean accommodation. The bed was a bit hard and the shower a bit weak.
Spotless: Friendly:Helpful: Excellent facilities. None
Centrally situated, very good breakfast The cleaning lady kept forgetting to check the bathroom, very noisy especially at Saturday night when drunk young people kept coming all night long, yelling at the corridor
Friendly clean and helpful None
Very noisy on saturday night from bars and clubs down below. Also noisy male guests next door.
grate location parking friendly staff bars shoping will come back . all ok
Just a great place to stay Needs to have free wifi.
The freindly greetinng, cleanliness off room and the quietnesss to say it was on a street renound for its nightlife.
Clean, staff great, room good value for money. My room was so noisy I had to get moved in the night! The room I was in was too near to the local night club. Breakfast too expensive! They forgot to valet my room during the 2 nights I was there, but sorted out fresh towels as soon as I highlighted it!
Handy parking next to hoel and reasonable priced.Basic and very clean.staff friendly. nothing
comfortable and clean. attentative staff and good food
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Modern look, location A bit noisy outside. Air-con kept turning on and off when it was switched on.
We had a major problem unrelated to the hotel and the staff acted above and beyond the call of their duty to assist us, even using their own car and knowledge of the local area. Truly marvellous customer service.
staff were very friendly and helpful, food was nice, catered very well for the wedding. nice room and views and very clean. tv was fuzzy and had poor signal on some channels, breakfast was poorly organized and many had to wait a long time to be served, room was too hot.
The staff were very pleasent and friendly cant fault nothing enjoyed my stay there very much would come again.
it was central close to the shops and bars but far enough away to enjoy some peace and quiet there was only one thing that spoiled it the person staying in the next room started playing loud music at 6am and it took staff 2 and a half hours to get them to stop
Hotel was in the centre of Swansea and very close to the railway station ansd shops and restaurants. Hotel was very warm and air conditioning could not be controlled from our room.
Good location close to shops and amenities.Quite modern downstairs with good reception area and bar area. As there were numerous problems from the moment we arrived on Sunday until our departure on Monday straight after breakfast ; we are disappointed that you do not wish to know by providing a box to air our grievances. You will therefore only glean half of the information and as a result not obtain a true reflection on our stay.
i only stayed 1 night and found the room fine, the breakfast was good. very close to train station which was a bonus as i needed to use the train. the £75 per room per night was a little high. there were some unsavoury characters hanging around the hotel bar.
Dinner, menu very good, experience not so good. Breakfast, quality of cooked breakfast was very good.
Location, friendly staff, cottage was good with complete kitchen, (bed)linnen was clean, very nice view and good walking trails. Not a english breakfast, we couldn't check out before 9.00 am, very expensive for what you get (80 gbp a night without English breakfast just Continental)
The staff left you alone & the cottage was lovely. The heating went off to early (22.30)
Lovely location and good general condition. We weren't brought our breakfast and I had to phone in the morning for it - though it did then come promptly with apologies : ) Also, the tv in the room didn't work. Small gripe, but no point in it being in there really.
Quiet, clean, unexpectely (and fully equipped)self catering. Beautiful views. No soap in the bathroom: Towels galore, all the washing up stuff, freeview amd comfort, but no soap.
The cottage was peaceful and relaxing. The views across Swansea Bay and the Gower were stunning.
Beautiful location, not too far out of town, great lodging. They should kill and eat the roosters.
The peaceful location.
Excellent views over Swansea Bay and surrounding area. Our sat nav packed up, tried to ring for directions, no one on reception to answer call.
Very helpful advice on finding a place for dinner. Very nice views over Swansea. None really
cosy cottage; well supplied;warm; kitchen facilities good;staff helpful. noise outside window early on sunday morning;cold breakfast only.
An absolute gem! The weather could have been better!
Mary and Lin were lovely hosts and made us feel really welcome. They gave us lots of advice on what to do around the area. The breakfast was fantastic, the room was immaculate and really comfy. Excellent value for money!!
nice big family room ,plenty off space for the children parking was a big problem,no sky tv which everybody has these days
Appreciated warm welcome from owner who surprised us by offering a room upgrade. Our room was immaculate and a generous size with a sea view. The choice of fruits, cereals, juices and cooked breakfast was outstanding.
Friendliness of owners. Location - proximity to Mumbles No
The guest house was over and above expectations. Every need was catered for and the owners were so friendly and helpful. All the rooms were clean, comfortable and attention was paid to detail. This guest house really does deserve its 5 stars, it offers exceptional quality and value for money. I wish that all guest houses could take their lead from this one. A true gem. Thanks for the hospitality N/A
every facility - eg vg DVD library, superb breakfast, accommodating hosts front rooms have magnificent views but could be a bit noisy.
Hosts excellent and good food.
A perfect balance between friendly and professional. Lin & Mary couldn't do enough to help. We would definitely stay at Tide's Reach again.
I felt very at home and comfortable there straight away. The proprietors are very friendly and helpful. The room was very quiet. It is a beautiful position, good for exploring Mumbles and the Gower, and also Swansea centre is easily accessible. I left the car at home and found the local buses to be frequent and stress free. I would certainly return.
Nice location on the Mumbles. Affordable prices. Bedroom and bathroom were small. No lounge for reading the paper, waiting for fellow guests etc.
They provided a cotbed and a highchair free of charge and had it all ready for us when we arrived and at breakfast times
The attention to detail was faultless , the staff were very friendly, the location was excellent and there were no external disturbances There was nothing to fault
position and parking
It was a wonderful experience of days gone by. The children thought it was fantastic as it was like a museum without the barriers!
Dylan Thomas House is a work of art and you will never forget your stay. As soon as you cross the threshold you step back into Edwardian times and every room is truly fascinating. It is still a very comfortable hotel but also a truly different and memorable experience.
The warmth of the welcome, the fact that the house had been restored to its Edwardian origins with painstaking detail .... and the fact that it was Dylan Thomas's birthplace and family home. The proprietor had left lots of excellent information and books to bring Dylan Thomas 'back to life'. The 'hotel' was really good. The only reservation I have is the pricing policy. We paid £300 for 3 nights for the entire 4 bedroomed house, yet there was also a charge per person if we exceeded 2 adults. This is very confusing! I think the charge should either be based on rental of the property, or price per person - not both!
It was very homey None
