From the moment we stepped out of our rental car the hotel staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. We had just come in to DC from two days of flying and driving and right away the hotel staff made us feel right at home. They carried our bags, helped us with transportation in DC by pointing us in the right direction, and even gave us apples on our way out for the day. We had never been to DC and have 2 small children and did all the sight seeing we could pack in for 2 days. The location of the hotel was great. One night the weather was great and we all enjoyed the walk through the city back and forth from the Washington Monument. It is quite the walk, so if you are not up for it we also took a cab and used Lyft in which every place only cost about 10.00 to get a ride to and from the hotel. I also feel compelled to mention that maybe it was the look on our faces when we stepped out of our car after the long traveling experince with 2 small kids, but whatever it was they upgraded our room to a balcony! I think her name was Elena that offered the upgrade, and it was very much appreciated!

The staff was very freindly, bed's and pillows were very comfortable, breakfast was delicious. Grear location in our Nation's Capital.
Rooms were very clean. Beds were comfortable. Very nice outdoor pool with plenty of lounge chairs, an outdoor bar and poolside table for eating. Parking at the hotel was perfect. Bathroom was slightly small but very clean.
Microwave access would have been very convenient.
The hotel staff was great and I liked that they had parking. The room was nice & location was great. Everything about the hotel was great. One of the reasons I liked it was because it was smoke-free however, the room smelt of smoke the last night we stayed and even again in the early morning before we checked out. Not the hotels fault, was just disappointing.

I liked the location, the staff was very friendly, and the complimentary water. We had issues with our air conditioning which we told the staff about but nothing was fixed and our room was muggy and damp.
Easy access to Metro, White Hose, Mall, etc. IF you are a walker. Very welcoming,professional and responsive staff. They were happy to change rooms to 2 beds when my son flew in from CA. Great catering staff and food. Clean and comfortable. A little dated and can be very expensive. My on-line rate with tax etc. was a reasonable $180. When I tried to add 1 night, they wanted $479! Needless to say, we went somewhere else.
Interesting restaurants nearby
The hotel staff were excellent and very helpful with restaurant suggestions and transportation. The room smelled very bad; like a mixture of body odor, Old Spice, and onions. I left the window open all day and it didn't improve.
Location Room wasn't clean. Carpet smelt like cigarette. They charged me for parking that I did not use.
Friendly helpful staff in downtown DC. The air conditioning in the room wasn't very good. It didn't feel like it dropped below 70F while set to 60F in November.
I did not like the fact I had to pay valet for parking or find my own. I feel if I m paying for the comfort of staying out of town then that is something that should be included.
The location and comfort here is great! Overall very good value!! The room was a little tight. Room had empty box of tissues, could of been a bit cleaner, dust.
Location was excellent, most staff was nice and helpful. If you wanted Wifi, you had to pay extra. Channels on the television had horrible reception 9/10 times. One bellhop was incredibly rude when I asked to use a luggage cart, that were kept in their storage room at the moment, as I had multiple heavy bags to load in my car. Parking was outrageous per day ($60). This parking fee was also not included on Kayak or Pricline.
Spacious room with super comfortable bed. No warning for the loud construction noise just outside our bed window at 6:30 am Sunday and then 5:30 Monday am. When we complained the front desk said nothing could be done.
The hotel was very nice and extremely close to all the sites (just blocks from the White House). The room, service, and location were far above what I would expect for the price. Would stay here again and will recommend to anyone visiting the DC area.

It was right downtown near the white house and monuments, so we could walk everywhere Everything closes down so it's hard to find a late night restaurant or pharmacy
Excellent location for much of downtown DC. Around Midnight my room filled with old cigarette smoke as someone began smoking in the stairwell. The air quality overall in my particular room was poor, requiring the windows to be opened as much as possible. This of course made it difficult to sleep as the city sounds in DC near The White House are loud and replete with sirens 24/seven. Normally, one might cover one's ears to have silence. However, at this hotel the pillows are the size for small children.

The staff was very freindly and attentive and the hotel itself is beautiful. The fitness center was impressive. There was no wi-fi availbale in our room and we had to pay 13$ per day for internet acess.
incredible suite for the price... they tried to put me in a regular dbl room when I checked in! Reminded them I had booked and been confirmed by their reservations mgr for a suite with 2 dbl beds.

The hotel is a beautiful place with excellent finishes. Everything was in great condition and high quality. The rooms were small, which in understandable given the location, but this was a double bed room so it seemed even smaller.

We were in a suite and it was spacious and nicely furnished. Most staff were nice. Great having a Starbucks in the lobby. Nice central location. The bathroom was small, especially the corner sink. There was no counter space. Front desk clerks were hit and miss. Some nice, some not. Concierge staff were great. The breakfast was OK, not great.
Excellent service. I ask them if I could make my check in before 3 pm (the official hour) because I was going to arrive at 9 am, and they had my room ready for that hour.

The actual hotel was clean and updated, the staff was friendly and helpful. Overall the actual stay was great. Nice little happy hour offered at the bar. Valet parked my car for 1 night, and took it upon themselves to charge $50 to my credit card, plus a $17 convenience fee. No lot in the surrounding area exceeded $25 for overnight parking. I should have parked my own car. I feel that the hotel was nervy and rude to charge us double the going rate for parking - without notifying me. I felt taken advantage of, since we were already paying top dollar for a 1 night stay. The hotel was nice, but not that nice. I stay in DC all the time, but I may not return unless this problem is rectified.
Very Clean Comfortable beds
The location of this hotel was nice, but other than that, I was not impressed. Walls are paper thin. Heard everything in the room next-door constantly. The amenities left a lot to be desired. Staff was slow to respond.
Everything exceeded my expectations. The room was clean and the bed was super comfortable. Loved the rainfall shower. The valet fee is overpriced. We were unable to get into our room because our lock needed to be charged. This was an inconvenience.

Location The staff (including management) did not respond adequately to their system being down during check in. Problems like that are expected but management did not issue an apology to all guests waiting in line for 30+ minutes and did not show the urgency to find an alternate way to check in all the guests affected by the hotel's system outage.
1) clean bathroom 2) bath tub doesn't clog when you take a shower; commendable on this part. 3) bed was very comfortable. 1) Accepts pets; this should be flagged prior to booking. There should be an option for customers to select non-pet room esp if one has allergies. 2) Business practice of asking for advance credit card signature. 3) WIFI and use of business center equipment are not standard amenities and customer pays i.e. cost of WIFI is based on GB of data.

The hotel is ideally located in that it is walking distance to the White House and the Washington Monument. The room was also nicely appointed and clean. The staff was very nice and responsive. Service was on par with a 5 star experience. We booked the premier room through Kayak. The room we were give. Was TINY - e.g. distance between dresser and the bed was probably less than 2 feet. If I were a solo traveler, this would not have been a problem. However, with a toddler, this became an immediate safety concern. We upgraded to a deluxe room.

Two of the employees, Soyoung and Stephanie were amazing in providing my wife and I with a very high level of service! Can't thank them enough for going the extra mile and making our stay memorable! They both did a great job communicating with us. It started with a text message to see how everything was in the room, when we had a problem with the heat, they dispatched an engineer right away, and had a new room ready for us when we got back later in the day. They also both signed a hand written card for my wife's b-day that was waiting for us in the new room. Overall, they both made our stay at the Loew's hotel very enjoyable. The location was very good, all the employees and staff were very friendly and hospitable. Would def recommend the hotel to a friend or stay there again. Our mattress could have been firmer.
It was a clean hotel with nice people. misleading when looking online, it looks bigger than it is. But it wasn't too bad. They do not have complimentary breakfast. It's over priced for what you get.
Doormen were nice and knowledgeable... Rooms were clean, and impressive (but small) lobby. Like most buildings in DC, ceilings were low, scenery was of rooftops and other office windows and not much view. Little advise on best way to attack touring DC other than "If you want to, you can see this or that or use a bus tour"

From the moment we walked in we were treated like valued customers, a simple and often overlooked feature of most hotels today. Highly recommend to anyone looking to make their stay in Washington DC more pleasurable.
The hotel itself was beautiful and centrally located. The staff was very friendly. The bathroom was tiny, like a shoe box. The room we were given was also part of a set of 3 cojoining rooms, and the walls were thin enough to hear everything.
Rooms needed to be dusted. Mini bar is electronic and not a refrigerator; DO NOT TOUCH or you will be charged.

It was clean and looks nice from the outside They charge you for parking and they don't tell you. They tell you to come down for breakfast when you have to pay for breakfast after they say it's complementary.

Honestly, I was in the hotel just to sleep for one night and Sid not use any facilities or services. Check-in/check-out was a breeze, from desk staff very friendly and efficient, housekeeping staff friendly and accommodating. No gym on premises.

The hotel stood out, in terms of style and character, especially on the inside. We weren't there long, so we didn't experience much of the staff's hospitality, but it did seem like they had nice amenities. Staying here made walking to the sights a breeze! Nothing in particular stood out - in terms of service or staff. The guys running room service up and down the elevators were more outgoing and friendly than the front desk staff (not a complaint, but just noticeable).
Convenient, central location. Room was decent for the price, with a good view of Thomas Square. Reception was friendly and helpful. Wine hour was great as usual. Breakfast at the restaurant was mediocre at best. I was asked to sit at the bar because they had no tables ready, even though it was mostly empty! They seemed short staffed. I asked for coffee, they brought it to me black with nothing to dress it up with. No milk, sugar, sweeteners. Nada. $15 "local" bagel and lox was basically airplane food. We didn't eat at the restaurant for dinner--supposedly it's a good sushi place--but for breakfast you'd be better off going to ABP or Starbucks around the corner for airplane food at 1/3 the price.
the rooms were modern and had a lot of space. The roof top pool and bar were gorgeous. The service was spectacular. nothing I didn't' like about it.
Bed was comfortable and room was clean and functional for what we needed on this quick visit. Was able to borrow bikes for the day. Elevators slow, hotel guests loud, wait staff at hotel roof bar too worried about their beards to be good at attending to an order, other guests rude. I personally felt like a trapped animal and I lived in Manhattan for 15 years. Front desk couldn't suggest a decent local restaurant within walking distance beyond their hotel restaurant. Lame.
Solid construction of walls and floors makes the room quiet. Firm mattress, which I like. Clean room. No breakfast. Wanted to charge me ten bucks to print a boarding pass!!!! Construction of the finishes (trim, carpets, etc) is low quality so thing start looking shabby when they are only a couple years old.
Overall, the hotel was ok. The location was good and the staff was very helpful and friendly. The room was spacious but oddly appointed. Really bad bathroom lighting--impossible to put on makeup. No hooks or bars for hand towels near the sink and limited counter space. The round fiberglass shower was an odd attempt to be modern but it didn't function well. No chest of drawers for clothes--room had an odd bench instead. Room service is very limited by the restaurant's Japanese restaurant, and frankly I found found the food to be below average and accordingly, very over-priced for what what you got.
The wine tasting in the afternoon was a nice touch. The room was for my parents, and they were given a fantastic upgrade at check in to a very spacious room with a beautiful view of the circle. The rooftop pool lounge was not open for beverages apparently. Also, we went to the first floor lounge at 5pm and when we told them we were not having a full meal, just drinks and apps, we were given specific/limited seating. Which makes sense, but there is no separation between "bar" and main dining room. So, why bother I guess is my point, especially since we were the only ones in there. Just let us sit wherever we want!

Things that I looked for were how nice the staffs were, cleanliness of room, and location of the hotel. Everything was outstanding. Did not have time to stay for more nights.
The staff was wonderful. Everyone was super friendly and attentive. The hotel is very unique. I'm a huge fan of boutique, non-corporate hotels and this fits that category. The location was great near many restaurants bars and shops. I would definitely stay at a kimpton hotel again! You could definitely tell the hotel was older. Wallpaper was peeling in the hallways.
Hotel Helix is a fantastic stay all around. Great staff, rooms with personality, great location. Minor complaint: my sink in room 501 had a ring of crud around the rim and the faucet just looked worn. Not a huge deal, but generally Kimpton has higher standards
The room was wonderful and the staff was amazing. Booked this room through Kayak and specified 2 adults and a child. The room we were given only had a king size bed. The staff was able to change our room to accommodate a family of three during spring break.
Room was beautiful and luxury . I love the details The staff were sucks . We stayed 5 hours at the lobby waiting our room . They told us we are sold out and don't have any available rooms . While we are booked our room 30 days before our booking date . After 5 hours they told us : we just received your payment you can take a room .
I love that this hotel is in a quiet residential area but just a few minutes walk from so much! The staff were pleasant even though they were completely swamped- Sunday check out time. If I ever need to come to Logan Circle again I'd absolutely use this hotel. The TV is huge. The shower has excellent pressure and the bathroom is overall beautiful. Completely enjoyed my stay here.

Location is ideal for us, and the property is truly pet-friendly: no crazy fee and lots of pet amenities offered (bowls and treats and such). We don't really need that stuff but it's nice to feel that your pet is actually welcome, not just tolerated. Our room was clean, bed was super comfy, and the staff were all very kind and professional. This hotel has a funky rock-n-roll themed decor, which I enjoyed buy my BF found a little too kitschy.

The King Junior Suite was really large and very comfortable for the few days we stayed there. The front desk staff were very knowledgable of the area and very efficient with check in/check out. The bathroom amenities were great and you could get anything else you might have forgotten from the front desk. They also had complimentary wine from 5pm-6pm! The location was also really fantastic in which you were about a mile away from most of the sites so it is a quick walk or Uber. The rooftop patio is also incredible! I highly recommend this hotel!

The staff was helpful and friendly. The breakfasts were disorganized and food ran out too soon. The coffee canisters were not replaced when they ran out. The bathroom door stuck, the desk light did not work, and the handset for the telephone did not work. When the shakedown is over, all should be well.
The location is excellent in the heart of DC, walking distance to many sights. The HVAC unit in my room failed and I was moved to another room, which also had a faulty HVAC unit, so I was moved to a third room. All of this took place at 8pm, which ruined my plans for the evening. The next day, I was a bit disappointed that neither the manager nor anyone on staff reached out to follow up. Generally, I expect more personal service from Hyatt hotels.
Had horrible service from front desk woman and did not get the room I was assured I would the day before. The maid staff was very helpful and friendly as was the man who worked overnight desk. The room was small with barely any windows but very clean and bed was comfortable. Will never stay in this hotel or Hyatt again based on promise of getting a street view room and then getting a room that literally overlooked all the AC units for hotel and no view of street. Also, the room they assigned us was not ready when we were sent up so we had to get shuffled into another with a worse view. The desk clerk was rude about the whole situation and when we inquired about parking right out front because the signs were very confusing she told us to "read the signs". Seriously- as if we hadn't already. Very rude. Our friends stayed too and had poor service from same two woman.

The Hotel Rouge is a boutique hotel and while it is a little too hip for my taste in terms of interior design, it is a wonderful and comfortable hotel. I was upgraded to a family room which, although I did not need the added amenities, was very nice. The family room is exceedingly large and includes a small room that has a bunk bed for the kids, a television and a game station. It also has a curtain so that it can be separated off, which I closed. The bed, a king, is very comfortable as are the pillows. There is a couch, work area, large flat panel television and a nice area with drawers and snacks. The bathroom is also generous in space and the bath products are very nice. The service is excellent, the staff pleasant and honest. I highly recommend this hotel for families despite the fact that it is designed more for the young hip crowd.
I liked room decor and setup. location wise, I was right where I needed to be. staff at check out were very nice. my car was towed, which should not have been, & since I was on the way out the valet guy went and got my car for me as I had no idea what to do, where to go and had such a small amount of time to get to my class. staff at check in were extremely rude.
Room was a good size and had a comfortable bed. Good location for going to the bar and restaurants in the area. TV didn't have that many channels. Parking wasn't free for guests, I ended up paying $67 for one night which is pricey. The maids walked into my room unannounced twice during my one night stay, once while I was sleeping...
Area was good, nice neighborhood. The bed was horribly uncomfortable. The lighting on the floors hallways were dark and dingy. The lighting in room was awful. No fridge or coffeemaker in the room.
