very well located. Bike rent service is very convenient. wait 10-15min for check-in. chocolate which is sold at the reception tastes not very good.
-Location of the hostel was great: 15 minutres walking distance to museums and nice shopping area. -Breakfast was very good. A real Dutch experience. -The hostel rents lockers for 0.20 cent per hour. I think that this should be free for the guests who want to store their luggage until check-in or late departure after check-out. -Having bathroom and toilet in the room can both be handy and disturbing depending on the people you are sharing your room with.
the variety of travelers staying at the hotel/hostel. the night staff didn't know how to let me into my room when the card reader failed.
Well organised, clean and tidy. Staff at reception could be more professional and polite, not chatting among themselves while checking people in - instead try talking to the guest.
Why the gruop can use free space to keep their luggage? And I have to pay for that. Most of stayokay I stayed is free for keeping luggage. When I arrived earier, I have to wait for checking in
I really appreciated the cleansiness of the room. I wasn't expecting this for a hostel. The breakfast was also outstanding. I was a little bit harder to find, but close to the hostel the directions were indicated well. It's a little bit further away from the center than I was used to, but still walking distance. Also right next to the Vondelpark which would be nice if it wasn't raining.
The rooms were large and clean. We were 6 people traveling together, so the personal shower and toilet for our 6-person room was very convenient. a maid even came to empty the trash for us. The hostel is also located near the main road Leidseplein, which has a lot of interesting shops and a lot of activity and leads you to the center of town. great breakfast: buffet style with hard-boiled eggs, meats, bread, yogurt, cereal, fruit. The fee for internet use was too high (1.5 euro for 15 minutes, 3 euro for 1 hour). Furthermore, since the hostel has a limited number of internet access codes, some days it was impossible to buy the 1 hour of internet and we had to instead to buy the must worse deal, the 1.5 euro for 15 minutes.
the area and the breakfast
It´s close to downtown and the tram stop is only a minute away. The room was clean and the stuff friendly. We also liked the breakfast. The price could be lower - we stayed in a similar hostel in Berlin and paid 13 EUR per night with breakfast.
This is a very new hotel but I was impressed by how quickly they had most services up and running. The staff were very friendly. Breakfast included a great range of food in a modern and efficient facility. The beds were comfortable and the bar was very reasonable too! There is a need to travel by tram into the city. Due to a design problem the floor of the shower encouraged water to settle by the door! This is being rectified I was told.
It is a very clean hotel It is very noisy at night. i stayed Saterday night
good position in Amsterdam, inexpensive price I can find , good breakfast, but terrible coffee
Clean, very good decoration, delicious food. It is cheap but the quality is very high. Nothing
They allowed my group to stay in the same room which was nice, breakfast included was a bonus, very clean and safe looking as first time ive stayed in a hostel which i feared before because of the movies! Was a little bit far out from the centre thou
The hostel is fairly new. The facilities were clean and attractive. The staff is very inefficient and acts as though they have something better to be doing that taking care of their customers. Since the hostel is new, many of the listed services are still unavailable (namely Internet access). Electrical outlets are conspicuosly absent from the rooms. So if you need to charge any electronics, be prepared to do watch them charge in the hall. Location was pretty out of the way, but not band on bike or tram.
Breakfast, temperature,cleanliness, comfort,staff behaviour
Clean, bright, breakfast included. What else do you want for the low price you paid? Yes, nothing exceptional, but nothing really bad. There is a thing i didn't like at all, and it's location. If you look at the map you might thing it's ok, but we failed to find it twice (first time police officers showed us the road, second time - we catched the taxi). The stuff was also polite, but nothing more - in Amsterdam I'm used to much more friendly approach.
inexpensive, very friendly and helpful staff; great locker system (2€ / 24h; you can open/close your locker as many times as you want; no key that one can lose, only code) Snoring people in my 6-bed-room; Breakfast could be a little more healthy
The drink specials The bed was hard and it was hot in the room and it was loud
Perfect location, good value, lively atmosphere, pre-check-in and pre-payment
Close to everything. Friendly staff. Mattress a bit thin. More a hostel though with hotel price.
I was supposed to be a 6 person dorm but it wasn't finished yet so It was 2 and a large space Has breakfast, and enough electrical outlets In each rooms each dorm has toilet and shower Sort of distant from center. No drinking in the dorm rooms? Really?
Very clean. Towel provided. I brought my own flip-flops, soap and shampoo, but none were strictly necessary (they had a funny 'soap stick' by the showers). Comes with breakfast (quite plain though). Eight minutes walk away from any bus stop, restaurant etc. Much further away from Amsterdam proper, though the 14 tram gets you there in ~20 minutes. Either bring a bike (and be a good biker) or get an all day bus pass. Wifi intermittent. Dinner restaurant often closed when supposed to be open.
The staff were very friendly This is a party hostel, not a hotel. I searched for a private room with large bed to share with my girlfriend, but we ended up here in a joint room. This should not come up in hotel search results. The entire place smells like marijuana and vomit..
We were welcomed the moment we arrived. Loved the space. The colorful lighting. The USB hook-up. The wifi hookup throughout Amsterdam is a HUGE benefit!! We'd come back for that alone. Other places should take note. Showers were amazing. Clean. Small (felt like a locker, especially when we had to get ready to pack up), but comfortable. Could've been cleaner, there were some hairs along the bed. Great nice and helpful staff. Love being able to pour your own beer and get a snack. LOVED this place. We will definitely come back. Felt like home!
It was a good option for affordability. the beding was clean and comfortable the walls were dirty, the bar played loud music downstairs until 4 am so if you wanted to sleep you could only do so during the day
The night receptionist was very kind and attentive. Check in and out was fast. The lobby and public areas were old and not that clean.
Friendly receptionist on arrival. Location....easy access to trams, supermarket, vondelpark. Bathroom had no shower curtain or shower basin so floor remained very wet for rest of day.
Next to tramline number 5 and in a quiet part of town. Very good value and the room was clean.
free internet smell in the room, more or less poor breakfast, price
The room was very clean. Friendly and helpful staff. Even breakfast was included. Great value for money
Location was good. Breakfast was good. Staff was friendly and the possibility to use the dining room for own food was good. Lighting arrangement in the room and the tap in the wash basin were not good. This is not meant as a complaint but as a suggestion. These are small things but its the small things that matter..
Location was fairly good. Breakfast was not bad. The room cleaning staff was very kind. No wireless internet in the room. Not enough staff at lobby and they can be rude.
The staff is nice, there is a luggage room, location is good. The shared room I got had no window, no ventilation...
The room was clean, there was a big LCD screen and breakfast was included. I was on the 5th floor, the elavator only went to the 4th. The shared bathroom was less than desirable. The room had too much furniture in it for its size, it made it feel a little cramped.
low cost central location multiple occupancy room
hotel staff - very friendly and smaily people small, dirty room, very poor furnished. It`s not a hotel, it`s a hostel
The breakfast and the location were good The bedding was very poor ,the room facilities were very old , the staff could not be bothered to offer any sort of cistomer service .
Central location in the heart of the red light district Rooms are dark and lack lighting
Location was great, easy access to all sights in Amsterdam, and the room I had was comfortable and clean enough for me. The guy snoring so loud noone else could sleep...
I liked everything, the value was great and the rooms were trendy despite the old building. The location was AMAZING, really good strategic location to try out everything, specially for first timers, the staff was really nice and helpful and the people that stayed there completely put me at ease with the fact that I was sleeping with 11 strangers (only at peak times though, sometimes to room is breezy during the week), they were all very friendly. The only issue I had was the bed size, I’m 6ft' 2 so the small bed size was a slight issue (hence my low comfort rating). However, the mattress was really comfortable, wish they had a slightly larger one.
Rooms were very cool, I took a youth group of 10 young people, they enjoyed it, great vibes nice staff,
The atmosphere, the location nothing, everything was what you would expect from a budget hotel, busy, vibrant some times noisy but everyone was out there to have fun, not for the old at heart
The staff did not give us a hard time about needingmore towels or sheets. It was in the red light district, but it wasnt too bad. when we got to our room, which was a double ensuite, someone had already been in one of the beds the window was wide open, and the shower was on and the entire bathroom was a mess.
There were an 24hour open reception. The hotel was supposed to be a three star hotel. I would rather have stayed in a hostel! There were fungus in the wall, waterdammege in the seeling. When it was blowing outside there were the strangest sound. Kind of like a coffee machine bobbeling. Further more our safty booth was broken, and the first thing we see at arrival are the police aresting some body in the entrence. A very bad experience!
