A genuinely warm welcome (with sparkling wine)1 Everything was impeccable
i liked the design of my room, & the location of the hotel. and thats about it. for starters, there was no one to help me with my luggage, the reception staff are a 1 star kind of people at most, the hotel in general doeant feel like a 5 star hotel.
great service, excellent location, very hi standard, cheap parking
THE SITUATION. STEPS FROM THE POINT OF INTEREST IN THE OLD TOWN, AND JUST 10 MINUTES FROM THE NEW MALL. THE WELCOME AT THE HOTEL. THE CONCIERGE SERVICE. THE ROOM AND THE SERVICE AT THE RESTAURANT. SIMPLY COOL ....... POOR BREAKFAST , AND DEFINITELY NOT THE BEST IN THE TOWN......
The entire staff went all out making certain our stay was perfect!! Dining room is beautiful and the food was presented beautifully...did I mention delicious!! The spa is beautiful and you need to reserve the spa in advance. There was no available time during our visit!
Professional and friendly staff, the facilities at the hotel and very high quality. The hotel or Booking has cancelled our reservation, but...corrected the mistake very soon.
The excellent Staff, they all were so kind, polite and attentive. The design of the Hotel, just everything was superb. We didn't like leaving.......
Wonderful... The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, many complimentary things (drinks on the terrace, minibar (sic), coffee, pralinés...), very clean and cosy... one of the best hotels I had so far, especially for this rate! Nothing to complain about!
Marrol's was wonderful in every respect.
A great location and great standard of accomodation, good value for money, and excellent customer service
The room and the SPA area together with the perfect location made the stay very relaxing. The minibar was not refilled daily, and there was no room service meny available, and we did not get any even after reminding the room service staff.
The service was really good the staff were very informative and friendly. The hotel was booked via the internet and so we weren't informed that the hotel's spa and steam room were not available or even finished which was disappointing.
They made it very personal and were very friendly and had some nice touches to make the stay more comfortable Not really everything was at a very high standard
wonderful hotel in great position at the center of the city.
Everything was extremley good n/a
very good service, what i would expect from a boutique hotel Television wouldnt work properly, thats all
The hotel is still very new and the staff SO eager to please -- though still figuring some things out. For example, they can;t garage one's car because they are not insured for damage! That said, the garage is 20 steps away so it was not a problem. Hotel is superbly located and clearly the top spot in town. Should do very well once it becomes known -- we felt we were just about the only guests there the 2 nights we stayed,
The Arcadia is one of the nicest boutique hotels in all of Europe. The restaurant was wonderful. The staff was amazing - extremely nice and very helpful. The property and rooms are beautiful. The location is in the middle of Old Town and perfect for easy walking to all historical and other sites. We had an absolutely wonderful hotel experience at this property and will always stay there from now on, anytime we are in Bratislava. In fact, we are more likely to go back to Bratislava because of this hotel.
The atmosphere, service, the whole package.
Overall the hotel's services were excellent although I did have a problem with the room. The breakfast was particularly good. My room had a very distinctive smell of sewage or rancid fat which was very unpleasant. An attempt had been made to mask the smell with a plug-in room scent device but this only proved to make it worse. The hotel was full so there wasn't an alternative and I was only there overnight but I would be unhappy if it happened again.
location. I tried the singel (2nd floor) and the double room (3rd floor). I only stayed for 1 night. Every night extra woulf have been a waiste of money. Small, old rooms. Airco not working. Very small bathroom.
Free internet, Breakfast and very quite environment More selection of TV channels
President-Suite very comfortable, nice bath tub, huge bed for the President-Suite to be the best room of the hotel, it was located in the 1st floor, so it was a bit too noisy from the street
Very friendly staff. Location is very central. You can use the wellness facilities for free. Aircon was not working and the bathroom/toilet is quite small.
The room was nice, bed was comfortable & the view was good..... The spa facilities were very nice even though the guy looking after them was not helpful, breakfast was ok Very loud on the Thursday night, music went on untill 4 or 5 am, Pool didn't open untill 9 am which is a shame if you have to leave early because it's very nice..... Sunbed would not turn on & the person in charge of the pool area was nowhere to be found
A beautiful room with a view on the Danube river. It is also very close to the old town.
Comfort and location Would like tea/coffe making facilities in room
Possition, nice and wellcoming staff, good breakfast, other facilities not used... one of ghe old school hotels but really nice... my friends had dinner in their restaurant and appreciated this... Internet via cable (even for free), towels were not for adequate for 4-stars hotel...
Great location, nice modern room, comfortable bed, friendly staff. What more could you want? The breakfast was uninspiring but it was free so I'm not going to complain.
location and hotel cafe
Hotel ambience was very good with good value for money. location excellent with pleasant leisure facilities Hotel overheated and rooms facing Danube noisy with passing traffic. Room layout poorly designed - did not maximise use of space so felt somewhat cramped. No tea making facilities.
The room was huge and comfortable, though warm. The place was what I would consider a real 5-star hotel. The location is close to the National Theatre and quite central. Some rooms are facing the street with Tram. It is not so visible but again, something to consider for 5-star...Location..Location...Location. Didnt like that I couldnt easily see that the JACUZZI can only be used for €50 for 2 hours. I choose the hotel for the amenties, which included the jacuzzi but didnt want to pay to use it.
This is a very new and stylish "boutique hotel" possibly designed for the more discerning clientelle. It has four apartment style suites on each floor and offers very comfortable and large rooms. Our rooms had 2 plasma screen TVs and we had the use of two bathrooms, one with wc and basin. Spotless and very well presented our room(s) were basically new and had possibly been used once or twice before. The location is excellent but bear in mind that the old town of Bratislava is very small. Gymn is free and well presented. jacuzzi and sauna come at an extra price. Breakfast was extra but is good value and in our opinion not overly priced. The quality of service and food were very good. The staff really go out of their way to be helpful and as it was my wife's birthday they even bought her a beautiful bouquet of flowers as a birthday gift. This isn't your normal type hotel. If you're looking for loads of space, quiet and comfort then this hotel is for you. There was a mix-up with the payment. They actually debited me at first when we arrived, then cancelled this refunding the card. They obtained a pre-authorization which they then cancelled. Eventually they did debit me the correct price when we left and they duly refunded the amount which they took when we arrived. This was down to human error and they apologised and assured me that all was well, which was the case.
We stayed at the Tulip from 21st-24th November and we cannot recommend this hotel enough. The staff were extremely friendly and could not do enough to help. We requested flowers and Champagne for the room and were not disappointed the bouquet was amazing. Set in a really good location for all the amenities Bratislava has to offer. The rooms are spacious and clean with everything anyone could need, the minibar is well stocked and surprisingly at a reasonable cost. All in all a great place to stay.
The staff allowed us to us the room until 8.30pm on th day of departure at no extra cost. This was most helpfull.
really great and luxurious hotel, the suite was very spacious and comfortable, the staff was very kind and helpful. We really recommend ths excellent hotel, one of the best we have seen in Europe. The location is great (300 m from the centre)
The size and quality of the room. Nothing
Superb hotel!!! Staff were very friendly and helpful and the room (the cheapest actually offered by Tulip House) was fantastic. A great base to explore the city from and highly recommended.
Highly recommended! Excellent location, very helpful staff.
The size, design and comfort of the room.
The suite was spacious, new, and lovely. The staff were friendly, spoke excellent english and made you feel very welcome. The breakfast was fantastic. There is nothing not to like.
The building is beautiful. The room was very spacious, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. It was one of the BEST rooms I have stayed in. The location was excellent. I was very impressed and the hotel is EXCELLENT value for money.
the location is perfect price is high
Excellent location, close to old town and 10 min walk to Incheba concert Venue.
Overall very expensive.
location is good. fitness room is too small.
The big room, the wieuw and the staff Everything was perfect!
Although its right in the centre of the city, it is very quiet as its based in a pedestrianised square. Very pleasant location overlooking cafes and restaurants across the square
The old building is beautiful, as is the terrace for breakfast. The staff did their best, but see below for my sentiments on the fate of this beautiful hotel under Radisson management. A beautiful old hotel ruined by the insouciance of the Radisson group, which is quickly becoming the worse hotel chain around (of the better ones). One only hopes that the grand old lady which is the Carlton would be taken over by Kempinski, Starwood, Mandarin Oriental or other, which would give her the respect she deserves, as an old European hotel. The current way the hotel is run and decorated makes one sad.
Very good location in the city centrum :-)
I just loved it ... the hotel is just right in the spot as should be. In the right center of BA and with easy access everywhere .. clubs, bars, restaurants. I recommend this hotel with easy access form airport or from highway as I came by car and with parking of the hotel you don't need your car for all the period of the stay.
no shampo in bath 2 some one was nocking mz door 4pm
Excellent location, good quality rooms and facilities Room cost reasonable but beware some serious price gouging: Overpriced mini bar - 6 euro for bottle water (which added up to quite a budget in very hot weather. Advise to stock up on water, etc before coming back to hotel in evening Overpriced breakfast
Lovely large rooms with character. Really friendly and helpful staff who sorted out any problems immediately. Excellent location in Old Town.
The staff Request of check out before official time on part of a person ...
Location is amazing. Lots of restaurants and shops right at your door step in the middle of the old town. Staff are friendly and very helpful.
Perfect downtown location, great rooms, good internet connectivity (wired and wireless), friendly and supportive staff. Be aware that cars and taxi's cannot get to the hotel (which is in the pedestrian zone), it's a 100 meter walk or so.
No better location, good price and the rooms are wonderful.
near to everything
Everything, the staff was attentive and efficient, the room was spacious, clean and comfortable
wonderful location in the old town, helpful staff. buffet breakfasts are high quality the resturaunt is very popular making getting a table difficult
Very friendly and helpful staff. Newly decorated, spacious and comfortable rooms. Brilliant location - a hive of activity, but with windows closed, the noise was pretty much blocked out. Thai massage was a good choice!
Facilities / Services; Comfort
This hotel is by far one of the best hotels we have stayed in. It's location is second to none and it's cleanliness and comfort is outstanding The only critisism that we had on our stay within the hotel is the food and restaurant. The breakfast was a big let down and the lack of choice and the lack of basics such as toast and a plain breakfast tea was a shame.
A very well located hotel within a few minute walk from the historical city centre. There was no noise from the street. The hotel is nothing to write home about. It's not bad per se but I found it purely functional, almost industrious. Its modern design doesn't bring any surprises, the staff efficiently check you in and out without any sign of emotion or smile, and the breakfast has not further ambition but to refuel (everything was processed, no invention whatsoever).
All Limited parking capacity for van cars.
Location and comfort nothing
Excellent location, with friendly help. It was so clean and nice that it appeared as if we were the first occupants. I was very happy with this hotel, and would highly recommend it.
Brand new hotel with excelent location downtown Bratislava N/A
good location, flexible service
I liked the comfort of the room, central location, good and reasonably priced restaurant. I liked the parking facilities which I though were very secure, although cramped, but I experienced no problems. The staff were helful and courteous. I thought the room rates were quite expensive even for a 4 star hotel in a central location. I have stayed in better 4 star hotels for less money.
Quite and best position in the center , half of the price compare to the others 4* hotels.
Very good location, right in the center, within walking distance of all major attractions. Quit and relaxing. Poor breakfast and staff quite rigid.
The cleanliness and comfort, together with a very substantial healthy breakfast choice.
Really nice and clean rooms. Great location.
centrally located, quiet rooms
The location in the downtown of the city, the staff was friendly. nothing
we enjoyed the decor of the rooms as well as the decor of the hotel in general, also the location was really great, everything that you needed was right on the door step, altough if you walked into town a little further the prices tend to go down a good bit. well worth a visit, had a excellent time.
great room, great location
Excellent central location Air conditioning with limited control and can be noisy at weekends if window is open
very nice modern room, rare level of quality
The hotel has big rooms and they are very nice, you will find yourself like in the castle. Beautiful hotel, beautiful location, total in the center of historic city, perfect staff and price.
Parking is relatively far away....
This hotel is new, clear and well run. I like d teh stay very much. Still, the clients could be informed that the hotel is an apartment hotel and the services apart from (good) reception and (good) breakfast restaurant are non existent.
near the old town carpets poor (spilled paint), very noisy (3am party-boat across the river), windows (dirty so you couldn't see out). Food cold - but prepared a warm (not hot) fried egg when asked (in broken Slovak)
Breakfast Noise during the night, bed...
Its location was very good the city center is a few minutes from the hotel. My room overlooked the Danube. The recepcionist spoke to me in Hungarian (when he found out my nationality). The restaurant overlooks the river. The staff were helpful and kind. The room was a bit cold.
Good central location and helpful English speaking staff. The hotel was warm and clean (although a little shabby). I would probably stay there again but would hope to pay less for the room. They did not know we were coming but still found a room for us. It was a bit expensive for what we got. If the price was lower, we might not have been the only people who seemed to be staying there on the first night!!
Staff were very helpful. They gave us plenty of assistance and local information. The location is quite spectacular. At the time we stayed the gasline had been severed by work on shore. This meant that we had no hot water. As we were only staying one night we coped ok, and the staff were very accomodating.
it was in the boat that's coool and near to down town bad breakfast and not reallly nice rooom
Staff were very good, view from room superb, good breakfast menu. good sized rooms, very comfortable. It looked a bit shabby from the outside, could do with smartening up. Poor access from street.
location was very convenient beds were uncomfortable
The staff were friendly and helpful. The situation on the Danube in the centre of Bratislava was excellent and provided easy access to the old town. The taxi ordered arrived on time. Where to start. That this was a former communist and controlling society was evident from the first. Long booking in form containing much unecessary and unwarranted information. Incredibly expensive for what was on offer. Decor generally was from the sixties or earlier in appearance. Carpet was thin and rucked. One chair was deeply stained. As I have a bad back the hard bed was reasonably welcome.
Breakfast was, while not fancy or high quality, adequate and plentiful. The cabin itself was large enough to be comfortable. The location of the boat/boatel was definately of great advantage, only a few minutes walk to the historic centre. The cabins (or room) was in need of some work. The carpet, if you can call it that, was horrible, the matress depressingly thin and the bed, while a double (not two twins together) also short if you happen to above 6 foot tall, as are both myself and my girlfriend. Both the decor and the light fittings could definately use an overhaul. With some effort the rooms could be far more pleasant.
fourniture were beautiful. people very king. nothing all was perfect
nice clean rooms although the rooms themselves were reasonable, there was really nothing else to the hotel. breakfast was poor
Great location, clean and modern hotel
1.Location; 2.An excellent wormkamnship and design of its interior; 3. Romantic and worm atmospher of it.
Everything superb! Provision of hot breakfast meals among the buffet items would be welcome. Blind ordering of them is less preferable.
The staff were so helpful and were very willing to give information on tourist attractions and travel. There was a good choice for breakfast.
location is very good, rooms and bathrooms are very very beautifull, fantastic price-quality
perfect location. An old building perfectly renovated in contemporary minimalist style. Extremely confortable rooms and excellent bathroom. And very good value. Internet connection very poor. They shd find a provider up to their own standards.
Small hotel but very modern and clean, staff is great and even bought an adaptor when they realized they did not have it. Free internet in the room is a plus. Breakfast is very poor for a 4-star hotel.
Situarion Smell tobacco
The staff were efficient and friendly, the room was clean and comfortable and the location is excellent. The breakfast was spoiled by the bacon, sausages and beans being cold and I was the first guest in the restaurant just after it opened. 18 euros this was very poor value for money. I would have been better going to McDonalds.
No nice staff, problems with the shower,
Location, Location, Location. Walk out the front door and you are on pedestrian zone!!! Walking distance to most sights. Wifi only works in small area of lobby. Furniture and carpet a bit worn. Could use renovating of rooms. Was charged extra for parking 27 Euro.
Room was neat and comfortable.
Terrible terrible place... Carpet was dirty, mold in the bathroom, everything was dirty and disgusting... I would never recommend this hotel for anyone... Oh yeah and parking was 27€ what a joke! But actually parking looks better then hotel room!
The Breakfast was a complete breakfast. There's an epidemic of properties claiming themselves or being claimed as 4 stars when their offerings are 2 star at best, and sometimes worse. This is one of those properties. The room is filled with old "dorm" furniture, no amenities, off brand toiletries bolted to the wall, dirty hallways, drafty windows, no climate control... it's a nightmare. And on top of it all the indignity of being double charged for the room.
Professional and polite staff Great location and price Toilet has a private room!! Room felt stuffy (both husband and my self woke up feeling stuffed up). Typical European firm bed with flat pillow The breakfast looked amazing but tasted blah. Extremely disappointed with the taste of breakfast. There was a variety of options available but the taste was off with almost everything (both travelers felt this way).
The only advantage of the hotel is the location. This hotel is old, and even the panoramic rooms look cheap. Small rooms, bad decoration, no view. The parking is expensive. In the spa, no big towels.
Excellent location All the leisure facilities were closed and we were not informed of this. I booked a no s,okimg superior double. We were put in a non smoking standard and when we complained were put in a smoking double.
Location Extremley overpriced for quality of the hotel. Pool and gym charged as an added extra. Cost of food and drink more than double the cost of local establishments
Excellent location. Good breakfast. AC in the room is non existence. When I called the Front Desk I was told it was working as best as it could. I felt the taxi company the hotel used charge a bit high. Flat rate of €22 to the airport for a 9 km trip.
It has very good location close to the old town and main tourist attractions. Breakfast was also ok. The small lamp in the wardrobe was broken and there was only one hanger. So we had to ask for some more at the reception desk.
It was convenient being in the middle of the city centre The noise below the hotel was awful, twice during the night i could hear bottles being moved about. They could also do with air conditioning.
Very nice staff and very good position of the hotel - in the centre.
receptionist was very nice perfect location extremely noisy area impossible to sleep well
Great central location. It does eactly what we wanted in that it was cheap and centrally located. Dont expect the Ritz. Some of our friends were kept awake by the bar and bottles smashing.
In mid of town
The location was good. This hotel would be good for young, single men looking to party all night long. It was very noisy and there was a strip club at the ground floor open all night. Great for people interested in partying but not if you would like some peace and quiet.
Its central location. Most of what was to be seen in Bratislava (the castle was closed for repairs) was within walking distance. No closet, but a piece of furniture with cobbyholes in which twernty-five tophats would have fit perfectly. Other odd bits of shelves and things in a large ill-painted room. The towel was threadbare. It was a long haul upstairs with my suitcase.
Silent and comfy room
Good Location!!! No Lifts at all as we have big luggage to carry all the way up to 3rd floor!Sink Choke in the room no. 4 and requested room change. unfriendly hotel staff responded no.
The room was not comfortable at all. No glasses for drushing your teath or for drinking. One towel/person. No minibar. The lamps were not working on the nightstand. Over all the worst hotel I ever stayed at. Breakfast was not included, you could buy breakfast for 3 Euro, which was poor . The stairs to the hotel was steep and hard to clime with all your luggage. no help from the staff. I did not like anything about this hotel!
