Staff were very helpful, services was also very good, the hotel has all facilities required such as a swimming pool and gym so it would be recommended my me as a reasonable hotel not really
The receptionists were great. It was very private. The bed was a little uncomfortable. Swimming pool was a bit naff. The price was way to much.
Staff very friendly Asked for plates at night for pizza party and was brought a couple of napkins. I felt staff should have this sort of thing available for customers.
The rooms are not well equipped and quite small. There is no elevator or at least you must carry the baggages on the stairs for a part of the hotel.
The staff was very nice & helpful including at the bar. Lovely art but need more. The room & bathroom were spa like and the Yellow Door bar & bistro was elegant. Nice Lobby, too. The valet guys were trying to rip us off on prices to park. The front counter said it was $20 but they told us $30.the WiFi said it was insecure so I reported that.
Lots going on, close to lots of good calgary spots. Great restaurants as well as pool side lounge.
The breakfast buffet.
Great location, friendly staff, good valet parking, excellent food in room service, interestingly different decor, comfortable bed, good sized room, excellent tv(but see below in adverse comments),very good shower. The artsy sink in the bathroom was too small for the powerful faucet and wet both my wife and I on separate occasions. There was no shaving/make up mirror. The heating system was extremely noisy but effective (it was -22c during our stay). The room lighting was too dim. The lovely wall mounted plasma tv was hobbled by a stretched low def picture(we could not alter the aspect ratio) and we were unable to get ppv movies due to severe picture distortion. The hotel service engineer responded very promptly , he was extremely pleasant but unable to fix the problem which originated at the media server ,not the tv itself .
Clean, modern, lots of electrical outlets in the room. Shouldn't be charged for WiFi in the room. Also, the air conditioner (heater) was loud.
Unbelieveable view. Also upon booking, I requested a top view and I got it all. loved how clean the rooms were etc. Nothing
I was with my best friend and we made the best of it. Even though we had terrible service. I felt that the some of the staff was rude. Mainly on the girl that I talked to on the phone that they charged me $18 for parking when it should have been $10 which she refunded me for. But she was extremely rude. Just cause of her I would never stay at your hotel again nor would I tell other people to stay there. I wanted to have a great hotel stay with my best friend and just from her it was ruined.
The room was more spacious than expected, very clean and very comfortable. We were on the 11th floor, so it was very quiet. Loved the super fast elevators. The front door staff were very quick and keen. Check in and check out was a dream. You really beat my expectations.
Pool and steamroom Clean rooms dog friendly small rooms
It was a very charming hotel with staff that helped me on several occasions - opening luggage lock, assisting me when I left my key in the room, finding places in the city, friendly in the lounge and dining room. Everything was completely satisfactory.
The hotel was very quaint and kept much of it's rustic charm. It was clean and quiet. The staff were kind and courteous. I was disappointed that the only rooms that had WiFi access were on the gold floors. I was offered to upgrade to the gold floor for an additional $100. The receptionist failed to mention the price was per night. A nice little sticker shock. Also I find it odd that a hotel the caliber of the Palliser would not offer WiFi
Very comfy beds. Friendly staff
its unfortunate that there is nothing to be liked in this so called 4star hotel. Typically I hate to complain but due to the experience, I feel I should provide my review. It was a five nights stay. Really slow slow shower. Bed linens, towels, sheets were not set well. There was a odor in the room. Coffee machine was not working. Power outlet was not working. TV channels were working intermittently and didnt even have the basic channels to view. Inspite of asking a few times to provide drinking water - there was no response from the staff. I wonder how do hotels like these get a 4 star rating. Internet, breakfast, TV channels are not part of the price.
Being downtown in Calgary, the convenience of the hotel, and the overall experience. I called in my request to have my car brought up 15 minutes before and did not have my car when I arrived nor did it appear that it was handled properly.
Have always liked the Fairmont. Located close to shops and downtown entertainment. Bed was a little soft. Rates can be high for some of the rooms.
Prompt service, excellent food, great staff, great exercise facilities, great location Bathroom had unpleasant "sewer" like odour
Staff was very helpful The room was clean and very spacious Ther was access to other venues without going outside The added costs, the water, the internet, etc.
This building has a beautiful old world feel atmosphere. Downtown Calgary feels like it has really died off with the current recession but you'd never notice once inside the hotel. Lots of happy and polite people everywhere. We will definatly return. We requested a newspaper in the morning but it didn't arrive for our two day stay.
Appreciated the upgrade.
I enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere of the hotel and the fact that is is close to everything I needed to do during my stay. The food was good too.
clean quiet easy assess to all parts of the city safe lots of parking spots no
Rooms were "Okay" - televsion not very good.
The room was well appointed and business friendly. The overall stay was wonderful and we thought the Christmas decorations were very elegant and added to the ambiance.
beinbgf awoke at 8:00 Am by someone knocking on our door as front desk gave wrong room num
Location Smokers out front. Some transients.
We were very close to the hospital we were visiting and found it easy to make the trips back and forth I was disappointed to find that by reserving over the internet, that we did not qualify for the buffet breakfast
Reception staff were friendly and helpful. They provided a 'pet welcome' package of information for our dog, and they have 'pet room service menu'!! We didn't use it, but were impressed with the idea. The room was bright and clean, the bathroom freshly renovated. Coffee shop was convenient and efficient. Food was fairly good. No plug-in parking. It was very cold the night we stayed there.
Large, spacious room. Good beds. Helpful staff. Great downtown location. Shabby lobby, dingy, dirty halls, such that it was a relief and surprise to a find clean, comfortable room awaiting us.
The location was just right-the suite was a nice size, with a comfortable bed.The reception staff were really helpful All was fine
Ugraded to a better room No water pressure on 17 floor for 5 minutes each day when trying to take a shower.
The convienience of International hotel and suites location is excellent. We checked in, and walked everywhere for the entire weekend! Never saw my car for almost 483 hrs. When the weather was nice we walked outside. While it was blizzarding or there was just alot of snow on the ground we walked through the +15'S. The rooms comfort and view were great, and the service was very good as well. There was 3 things that were unenjoyable about our stay at International Hotel and Suites... First: once parked in the parkade and on our way to our suite, the elevator was out of order. Two: while visiting with guests late at night we realized that the toilet was leaking, then it kept running, then it over flowed, then we had to manually fill the tank every time we wantex to flush for fear of over flowing. Three: when we went down to the bar to watch a hockey game, there was no one else there... Maybe they could try to get more patrons into the bar.
Wonderful suite with amenities Only 1 small cramped bathroom for 2 bedroom suite. Also, no hot water 1 morning.
Found it very comfortable and centrally located. Would stay here again. Rooms are very spacious with separate lounge area.
Spacious suite, good quality room service food No lift directly from carpark to lobby or rooms - stairs between the lobby and the lifts which is difficult with suitcases. The public rooms were dingy. The location is in the business district, not close to major tourist sites and shopping.
Best value for money, especially you stay over a weekend.Good business class treatment and room.Breakfast is superb, the best so far for my family's Rocky trip.Recption very understanding and friendly, went out of the way to help. couldn't find one.if need to, my room faces another tall office building,so there was no view.
The International was extremely convenient in terms of getting around Calgary. Everything was literally steps from my door. The breakfast options were nice, and my interactions with staff were very pleasant. Though modern in many ways, the hotel could use some updating. Some fixtures and appliances were showing their age, though nothing was broken or malfunctioning.
The staff was polite, the rooms were comfortable, and the breakfast was really good.
We liked the size and comfort of the bed best. The room was quite spacious and it was useful to have a fridge. The horrendous noise other guests were making on the floor below at 3am on Saturday/Sunday.
I liked the style of the remodelled bathroom, the windows and skylights of the pool, jacuzzi area on the roof, the security of needing a key to use the elevator, the sun reflection of the Westin on the foyer floor, starbucks in the hotel was great for morning treats. Pillows and bedding was very nice, especially with the dark drapes... you could really get a good sleep. the Fluid Lounge is poorly decorated and could use more colorful paint. Felt drab, like waiting in an airport lounge.
The staff was very helpful. All questions were answered promptly. Thanks.
The reception was fantastic. The mattress was uncomfortable.
We had some time to kill before a wedding dinner and hung out at your lounge. The server was pleasant and gave prompt service. We did not like the fact that an additional $17 was added to our bill for parking. That should be free for guests or at least hide it in your rates so that customers think its free.
The staff is very friendly.
Comfort Bar felt least inviting
Excellent staff, clean, friendly, exceeded my expectations for service.
The room was very clean and spacious. The hotel is conviently located downtown. The staff is very friendly. The restaurants in the area were good too!
Good location. Comfortable room.
Comfy, roomy barroom. The room was large too which was nice. Upon check in, the front desk asked if we were interested in having the breakfast option. I declined thinking my family would be interested in going elsewhere. Not even 10 minutes later when I asked to change my rate to the breakfast option, the gentlemen at the front desk said that it was too late as we are already in house. I found that lousy customer service. I could have pushed it to the manager to see if they can but after a long day of travel I didn't have the patience to bother. They could've asked their manager for me. It was very annoying.
The proximity to the business and shopping that I needed to do. The restaurant for lunch was expensive and not particularly good. The caesar salad was not fresh or presented well. The pizza was dry and tough Coffee in a mug at $3.50 was bitter. I would not use the restaurant again.
The staff we wonderful. Helpful and kind. I had a great stay. Comfy clean beds. The higher you go the better the view. Ask for riverside at check in. Great downtown hotel. Walking distance to awesome restaurants and music venues. I really really love this hotel.
Pricey food and drinks
Friendly staff and water station at entrance. The location and available airport shuttle. I wished there were black out curtains to completely block street light and better pillows would have made my stay a 10
The quietness in the hallways and the location The hardness of the bed, kind of hard for someone who is used to a soft bed
The staff was amazing. They were so friendly and seemed to truly enjoy working here. David the security guard made our stay especially nice by letting us enjoy the sky deck hot tub for a few minutes past closing since we got in a little late. The bathroom/shower was amazing, and the decor was updated. Very clean. Chose this hotel based on proximity to Calgary airport, but wished I was staying for longer than to just catch early morning flight. Would highly recommend this hotel.
We were quite surprised to find a first class hotel only a mile from the Calgary Airport. Rooms were up to date, clean an comfortable for 4 adults. Lobby area was welcoming and parking was adequate and in a safe location. Attached restaurant had good food including a "Bread Bar" where you have a choice of breads and you place them on an open gas fired grill. Really a great idea! Liked it all!
They have reliable shuttle bus service!
I liked the cleanliness and the hotel being so beautiful and green. Staff wer so accommodating and kind. I would definitely recommend this hotel as a great place to stay and the price was very reasonable. Thank you. There was actually nothing I did not like.
Beautiful rooms, great price, helpful staff and close to new mall. Only way it could be better if hotel did shuttles to mall every two hours. People come to see the new mall so might improve business. Location was not close to much but airport. But beautiful room.
I showed up, they said they had no rooms for me. They provided me a paid for night at a hotel of way less quality, 15 minute drive away, that was actually cheaper than what I paid for the Acclaim. I will update further if I can any refund for the difference (at a minimum).
Room in total NA
Very new, clean, and convenient location near the airport. No refrigerator in the room
This place is a gem. Easy to get to and close to the main highway. Great restaurant on site, comfy and clean rooms. Check in/out staff seemed to be new which is fine but made it hard to check out.
The hot tub was nice, the water in the lobby was also a nice touch, and the staff were friendly. the very small blanket we got when we asked for an additional one.
The rooms are always spacious, clean and comfortable. The food is not fantastic. It is edible and probably fine for most people, but everything tastes like it is made from a bag. Nothing from scratch. Definitely not high quality, which I think it should be based on the price of the hotel and the fact that everything else is good to excellent quality.
It was mine and my husbands wedding day and they upgraded our room, it was a great treat and very much appreciated. It helped make our day that much more special nothing
The fact that everything was excellent
the room was great, the staff helpful, and the food was good i always say " you get what you pay for" and its true at the Sheraton. could find the Blow Dryer in the am, they said it is located in the drawer of the night table. Not a place to put it..
Hospitality, cleanliness, comfort and location was excellent. Enjoyed the facility and highly recommend it to friends and family. Looking forward to our next stay. Had a little trouble using the valet parking because of the event on Saturday night and lack of space in front of the hotel and the number of guess coming and leaving at the same time
Reception & concierge were friendly and informative.
The staff were very attentive and always had a smile ready.
Location, well equipped & comfortable pool was cold & sauna not working
it's a suite so you have a mini kitchen where you can cook, microwave and tea/coffee facility. it;s like 2 rooms separated by many doors ! too many doors in the suite. no safe box, bed too high
The central access to restaurants and entertainment Renovation construction noise
Excelent with family and children
Well nothing much really. Internet connection was good and fast. Other wise to far from the down town. To far from down town. Nothing around. Deserted area.
It was in close proximity to the hospital we had to visit. Nice and quiet.
The breakfasts were dreadful.
the breakfast was fine and the staff at checkout were freindly When I checked in at night as a woman traveling alone the staff in a loud voice gave me my room number and gave me directions to the room while there we other people well withinearshot. This hotel is in dire need of a renovation
This hotel is what you get for a reduced rate. The rooms have been poorly updated over the years and they show it. Rooms are small but they are fine as a place to sleep as long as you don't stay long.
It located in city centre with reasonable price.
The continental breakfast was very adequate and the cleaning staff did the best they could with what they had. The attitude of the front desk person toward the staff, no shampoo was available and our non-smoking room smelled like a smoking room
We stayed here 3 days during the Calgary Stampede. We had a very nice room, clean, comfy bed, good A/C. Very good breakfast with fruit (apples, oranges, bananas), waffles, cereal, muffins, bagels, eggs, milk, yogurt. There was plenty of ice. Front desk is very helpful and friendly. This is a good value and we would definitely stay again. A fridge would have been nice.
good washer and dryers the place was very dirty. it really needs to get a make over. the maid service sucked and our room didn't get cleaned for two days. breakfast was a joke. went to get breakfast and saw lady with a half a loaf of bread come out of the breakfast place, then when i went to get some bread another lady had the rest of the bread in the toaster. so i got no toast that day. even the hall ways where dirty,
Very convenent location for business. They tried to say I didn't have a reservation and I had to produce my confirmation paper. Then first checked into a dirty room......the breakfast was poorly organized.
First room we were given our key cards did not work properly, had to return to the front desk to have them re-programmed to let us in. Once entering the room the beds were made but everything else was a mess. Slurpee cups and candy bar wrappers sitting on the side tables, it looked like someone was already spending the night in the room and would return at any moment. Re-assigned another room, the door knob was in very bad shape. To open the door you had to slam on the door know and literally ram your shoulder into the door to open. Even the night staff had to use the same method to open the door. Once in the room there appeared to be either blood or red paint on the bathroom faucet, while there was no red colored trim work anywhere in the room. I felt as if I should be paying on an hourly rate rather than a daily rate.
Kitchen willing to prepare another entree after preparing poor original dish. Also added extra water. Staff provided space heater My evening entree brought to my room was greasy and salmon not fresh . The room was too cold.
very clean, hotel staff are very friendly, the hallway and the room was a bit hot to sleep at night,
Very comfortable beds, quick check in, excellent room service meals 149 dollars is a little pricy for 8 hours in the room
Good location for the south area of the city We stayed in the old side which was not nice. No heat in the room I was in.
The friendly staff. The lack of indoor parking.
Very enjoyable stay, hotel was very comfortable and convenient location for Spruce Meadows. I would recommend this hotel to friends.
Front desk staff were ; efficient and friendly, the housekeeping staff, were quick and thourough and showed the highest regard for their job. The lack of children's play area
The beds are very comfortable and the rooms very clean! I had a difficult time ;logging onto the wireless internet.
Great pool for kids, good breakfast buffet. We were in one of the newly renovated rooms and it was great. Others travelling with us had older rooms and there were issues with the air conditioner and microwave
The hotel staff were very professional as we checked in and out; and were helpful as they answered our questions during our stay. The cleaning lady was very cheerful and friendly (Second floor). Oh, the beds and pillows were very comfortable - that is a must for me when travelling! I would stay there again. It would have been nice to have access to the internet through a public computer...like other hotels have for their guests (downstairs in the lobby area). Some of us don't travel with a laptop!
Friendly staff who went out of their way to help us
clean rooms, pleasant and efficient staff other than the lobby the place is rather dated pool area is very drab parking area has potholes and no landscaping...definitely not welcoming from the outside
It was easy to find on gps, and ready to get too. The bed was comfy and the place was clean and tidy. We didn't like the room service food, as we ordered breakfast. It was cold, and not very tasty, but did arrive right when we asked them to deliver it!
air conditioning unit was not working - room was very warm and made sleeping difficult
it was wonderful..the room was clean, comfy..it was more than what i expected..lounge was great too..
Calling the Sous Chef @ 1345 and asking if they could prepare a hot oatmeal breakfast and he said yes !! No BNN channel on the TV. I always want to know what is going on in the Canadian market from the Canadian perspective !! I usually book hotels on the availabilty of BNN. This time not because you were hosting Larry Berman
central to my needs
Great room - My wife loves the elegant arm chairs Professional Check-In Business computer restarted at midnite with no warning - wiped out 45 minutes of work - really sucked - made me stay up later than intended - better if this restart was optional when people are active on the terminal
Convenient access to places we had to go to, and accessibility from major highways.
Lobby The fact that we requested a quiet room on lower level and received a room on the 6th floor . It was directly across from a group of people who were partying in the hallway outside our door until 3:00am.
We stayed at Hotel Blackfoot after arriving late from flying in from Atlanta. We just stayed the night and left in the morning, so we did not have the opportunity to take advantage of all of the available services. The staff was friendly and nice, and the accommodations were very good. However, I don't believe at all that the claim that our stay was carbon neutral is true. See last sentence above
Clean, quite, fair beds and good food Poor pillows and the front desk charged me differently than what I had arranged for the room over the internet.
The hospitality of all the staff including the restaurant. They made it feel like home.
The bed was very comfortable. To get anywhere, you have to take a cab...
Great service, quiet, very comfy bed and clean rooms. Slow delivery on extra towels, had to request twice.
Excellent, knowledgable staff st front desk: warm, welcoming, great first impression as you get settled into hotel after day of travel. Cleanliness of lobby, fitness facility, hallways, and room impeccable. Salad bar and vegetables of buffet dinner were excellent, meat entres adequate only.
Friendly and helpful staff, bright lunch room old heating system, was not able to get the temperature above 20 degrees C
The staff was very accomodating and quick to respond to any requests
The desk clerk was very helpful. It was only an overnight stay, and the room was very nice and clean. The buffet supper was not worth the cost of it. There was a variety of food, but it wasn't all that great.
All suite hotel. Clean, good staff, good resturant close by, close to the airport - good for the business traveller. Front desk under staffed - checkout takes longer than it should if there are more than a few customers.
Suite had everything we needed. Very clean and comfortable. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good facilities, free DVD hire, pool etc. Breakfast was OK, nothing special but is acceptable with the usual buffet spread. The location is close to the airport and is within a built up commercial area but has shops and restaurants a short drive away. Train service into downtown Calgary 10 minutes walk away. We picked this hotel for the quality of the suites and the facilities not the location and it met our expectations.
We stayed at the Lakeview on the first night of our holiday and the staff couldnyt have been more helpful, we were collected from the airport the room was lovely and large. The following morning they took us to collect our hire car at no additional charge. Breakfast was lovely. It was all lovely.
The bed was very uncomfortable - it sags badly - even for someone without a damaged back - tried the pull out sofa and that was no better, so ended up sleeping on the floor -(I do have a bad back and need a matress that is fairly firm- we consider your price high in view of this poor bed -
very pleasant stay, excellent breakfast!
Very nice and big room, well equipped kitchen, big bathroom, cheap guest laundry, free parking fitness room was really small
I loved the convenience of the hotel in proximity to the Calgary Airport. The shuttle service was prompt and the 2 different drivers that did the chauffering were so very nice. The front staff were very nice and were informative as to what was available to me and where. I have to admit that I could not take advantage of what the hotel offered or what Calgary had to offer as I was only there for 1 night and had to catch a plane early in the morning. So, my encounters were limited, but very nice. I appreciate everyone's efforts to make me feel welcom and comfortable.
I and my two other traveling companions had been driving all day. What a pleasure it was to find a large, clean room, great staff and really everything we needed at that moment. Thank you for a great stay!
It is clean and the rooms are nice. Had our truck stolen out of the parking lot right in front of the door. It was locked. Manager mentioned she saw some teenagers hanging out in parking lot late but did not check into what they were doing. Never received a sorry or what can we do to make your stay any better. Nothing. Was not looking for any freebies. Just some care or concern. This hotel has no outside video surveillance. Would not recommend to anyone. There are better and more secure hotels available.
staff and room
I loved the spaciousness of the room, the decor, having a kitchen, the popcorn, the chaise, internet access and breakfast.
Friendy staff, helpfull. No glitches at all. A pool to swim lenths in.
It's close to the airport but far away from the downtown. It' s more a motel than an hotel, but for one night it's ok.
Restaurant was only buffet. Ashtrays outside the hotel needed cleaning badly.
Quiet, great atmosphere, good food many children that cut into the quiet surroundings
Staff didn't know if the plug ins were working outside -36 and vehicles didn't start.
the fact that I was attending a seminar in the same building pricey
The lady at the front desk was rude, not very helpful didnt smile once while we checked in. Cant remember her name but had brown hair, glasses, med-lge in size.
We arrived late, paid for the room online only to be told it wasn't paid and Night auditor was very rude making phone call after phonecall at 1 in the morning to straighten things out. When we finally got our key he very loudly let out a rude noise suggesting we were a complete annoyance to him. The maids trying to get in our room bright and early along with the uncomfortable bed and dated bathtub, we have stayed here a few times in the past but I am pretty sure it will be our last stay at this hotel in Calgary
The rooms (we stayed at the 15th floor) were very spacious and on our side it offered a very nice view on the Rocky Mountains. The breakfast is in a way experienced as rather simple, as all the blades, knifes, forks and cupps are made of plastic. The food however was fresh and the juices, from the machine, were surprisingly nice.
I like the fact that the kitchen came with dishes and utensils.
It was convenient to downtown restaurants, coffee shops, and a grocery store.
