It was both a hotel and a museum...amazing place. Fantastic location on the edge of Altstadt - old town - close to trains Cost - but that was not a surprise
This was an exceptional hotel. The staff was unbelievably friendly and helpful. Great location in the center of all the action, but quite due to the large courtyard with high walls on each side that kept the noise to a minimum.
- Great location- Converted old monastery to hotel with plenty of museum worthy pieces displayed throughout- New + modern rooms / facilities- Great staff, from the bell crew and the receptionists to the waiters and cleaning team- Decent WiFi Really have nothing to complain about.
The location of the hotel is very strategic
clean and comfort no
We liked the location. We were not too impressed with the room facilities. No writing paper, no pencil/ballpoints, no enveloppes. I did not like the bed pillows. Too soft and no way to get another one. Obviously the hotel is very popular by the Mid Eastern travellers. Without any disrespect, it seems to make the hotel a bit messy. Other than that we will come back for the location.
Close to airport and downtown. Service was great. Thought price was a little high.
location, breakfast, concierge staff were slow in solving problems
A 5 star hotel all the way...excellent breakfast buffe. Perfect location.
Rooms very well appointed and comfortable. An excellent hotel
The location was very good. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Not as plush as I expected for 5 star superior - foyer area was a bit like walking into the office of a business.
I will return--very good--
Location; excellent room service and cleaning service and very good varied breakfast. Tipping becomes very tiring. No access for handicapped people or buggies. Doorman only helps if previously tipped. Small elevators. Very small spa and saunas do not start working till late in the morning. Spacious rooms but poor decoration (holes in cortains and very rough towels and bathrobes -unacceptable for a five star hotel-)
room facilities expensive internet and paytv
This hotel is a business luxury hotel in the best location in Dusseldorf. There is some good lounge specially for business meetings. It is near to shopping area and just in front of downtown. We have stayed in a suite which is really good. Staffs are so helpful and all fluent in English.Breakfast is good although can be better if some warm items add. There is no free wifi internet in the rooms.
Excellent hotel the staff were so polite and helpful, the hotel has a fine taste in their hospitality, near to shopping, food, nice walk and of course the U Bahn is on its corner. I surely recommend it to others.
The location is awesome.....
very pleasant stay, comfortable, central and user frendly. It may have been the night in question but there was some noise in the early morning.
Room was very well equipted Ethernet poor spead, durring my stay there was constraction work done in room next to my and was very noise, staff send me some fruits and small bothel of champain whic was nice but not satisfactory, I could not relax in my room
I liked the welcoming and excellent attitude of all the staff and the quietness of the hotel and the fact that I could just step out into the best shopping and Christmas markets nothing
Very central. Clean and charming When leaving the hotel the reception first tried to charge also the hotelroom from me despite the reservation vthrough your company. Anyhow they finally charged only the breakfast and took photocopies of your reservation document to me.
Large room, nice restaurant, helpful, polite and friendly staff, excelent location. No
Perfect location ,Freindly staff No english channels in TV
Location Small rooms
Hotel location, clean rooms, good breakfast airconditioning in the room was very weak
The decoration of the hotel is ok, but the device is soso. Service is good, it's suitable for short term business travel. Beds are too narrow.
Great location, Nice rooms Bed could be more comfortable.
the room was toooo small and the heat wasn't good
Location in the city center and near the train station Booking.com photos of rooms doesn't correspond to reality, free Wi-Fi only in lobby
perfect location for the altstadt (shops, bars and food) and within easy walking distance or the more exclusive shops. Also only a five minute ride from train station. Also the hotel kindly gave me the room I asked for (based on reviews on your web site). It was a nice dual aspect room. Didn't think the staff were over friendly. Also bit surprised that it's supposed to be a 4 star - thought 3 would be more accurate. It was clean and tidy but nothing special.
very close to the aldt stadt wireless network has a very bad performance.
room was very spacious , nicely and functionally furnished - it gave me an almost feeling of being at home. location suited my needs. price of breakfast (breakfast itself was good).
This hotels is just fantastic. We stayed in this superb hotel in the end of November and cannot wait to come back. We loved its classic luxurious style, the most modern technology in the room, the very cosy living room where you can just sit down, relax, play chess. The bed is very comfortable and the TV built in the mirror in the bathroom is quite impressive. If you want to experience a really enjoyable weekend, book a room here! Ramon and Mirka
Perfect comfort. Perfect finition. Perfect electronic. Perfect value for money.
Absolutely excellent personal service, very courteous and couldn't be more helpful The only thing that was disappointing was that the TV/Sky Channels were totally focused, besides German of course, on Russia and Arabic (I think). The only English channels were Sky News/CNN. In the room information folder it had over 84 channels listed including bbc/itv/ etc but they were not set up as they could only take 48 channels. Also no Movies available.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. The location is convenient. The room is very elegant and modern. Nothing more to ask for! We would definitely like to stay at this hotel, if we have a chance to visit Dusseldorf again.
Modern set-up of the hotel rooms, a guest-only VIP lounge, which is similar to a airports business lounge The stuff maid be more welcoming and service oriented. I missed a bit the very special feeling, you can get staying at luxury hotels.
The spa was terrible and they did not even have the sauna or steam room on. Very bad.
modern and easy going
size and comfort of room, perfect location in the center high price of breakfast
The best service you can imagine, excellent breakfast and dinner at Brasserie, we travel al lot but for sure this one of the best hotels in the World !
the hotel is very good pleced, very central in the hard of the city the decoration is very kitsch.
Right in the center and surrounded by nice shops, parking within the property, size of the room (was 50-55sqm), large washing basin, good heating system, good size kitchen Elevator was very small and hard to bring up large bags, doona smelt smoke and made our pyjama smoky in the morning, corridor lights were hard to find in the dark
apartment is clean and very spacious, Location is good There is no guest elevator, you have to climp three floors to reach your apartment, No daily cleaning service, Front disk close at 5PM and week ends.
Good Location No reception staff on weekend, unable to park car in garage as nobody there to let us in. We were given a smokers room - were are non-smokers but there was no one at reception to change anything.
The attitude of the staff was very nice. Staff were helpful and supportive. I liked the environment. The only issue we faced was no Air Condition facility. If A/C is offered even with an additional charge, it could be perfect.
Mostly businessat Dusseldorf airport but went out and about in the evnings to restaurants and bars Non refundable deposit was a bit harse as we had to leave for a few days in the middle of ou stay and go to Munich.
Spacious room with living space, large bed, kitchenette. Quiet location close to Altstadt and KO. Friendly staff. They didnt arrange a parking space for our car, althought we required one with our reservation weeks ago. It was told us that a parking space might be available only for the last two days, but the enterance was closed at the weekend and there was no one at the office. Internet didn't work during our stay for 5 days, althought we told them repeatedly. It only worked 5 minutes each day, which was very disappointing. The room design and furnitures are quite old-fashioned. No cleaning for the whole 5 days, while the price range is higher than a 4 star hotel.
Convenient location, very friendly staff, comfortable. office staff only on premises during the hours of 8am-6pm. Not a problem if you talk with them prior about your specific needs.
Very good size rooms, and although close to city centre location was very peaceful
The location of this, only a few meters from underground - just a corner from old city -gave us the capability of going anywhere very easy. The carpet of the room was shabby and needs to replace it.
The position in Dusseldorf, the relative peace and quiet in a large city, the booking out time (1200hrs) and the staff. A very 'relaxing' hotel. No appropriate car parking included within the price of the room.
Hotel in the center, old town of Düsseldorf. Everything to see is in walk distance. Staff in breakfast room (a blond man) was really nice. Breakfast was simple, but ok. This hotel is not bad to spend a night in Düsseldorf, not more. Bathroom needs to be renewed, and room redecorated. No views from our room. Everything was quite old. Breakfast room was too small, you will have to wait for 10 minutes to get a table if you go in the rush hour.
The staff was very warm and welcoming. They are the single greatest strength of this hotel. The rooms are nice/comfortable. The location is awesome! Good breakfast buffet included in your night too. I'll most likely stay here again on any return trips. I wish they had free wifi but they did not. The rooms were clean-ish but could have been cleaner. No free wifi is my main complaint.
Friendly staff were very helpful. Very large room with plenty of space. Great loctaion for Old Town and shoppoing district Room decoration is old and tired. Bathroom dated but functional. Inside of wardrobe very dusty, need to clean before it could be used. Carpet stained, comes with age.
The room was large and the breakfast was excellent (it was included in our room price). The location is its best point, being only 3 minutes walk from the old town and river, and 10 minutes from the main shopping street. The shelves inside the wardrobe was covered in dust, so somebody isn't doing a good cleaning job. The mattresses were not the best.. The receptionist on departure was not very charming and didn't say goodbye and thank you to us.
Friendly reception staff. The bed was OK! Corridors and interior decoration rather run down / outdated
If you want to ave fun at the bars and restaurants of the Altstad neighourhood, this is just the perfect location. It is literally right around the corner. Behind the hotel there is a paid parking for 15€/night, quitte easy. Just bear in mind it is a budget hotel
location rooms very small; hotel has not been updated/renovated in a long time - carpet stains, peeling paint, chipped furniture etc. all give the appearance of lack of cleanliness and care even when this may not be the case
The staff were fantastic and the hotel is right in the Altstadt.
Good central location, lovely big room, friendly staff. Was a bit noisy outside but expected this.
The location is right in the middle of the centre with all the bars and restaurants just around the corner. Very friendly staff, good breakfast, Nice room with enough space and big beds. Not very modern though. The floor was not properly vacuumed, because there were some peanuts on the floor which we hadn't eaten ourselves. Room was a bit warm too, while it had been a rainy day with temparatures no warmer than 18 C.
Next to the Altstadt
Very close to market, shops, restuarants Hotel needs painting-refresh inside.
Centre of Old town, nice breakfast
It's close to the restaurants and bars The noise from the bars that were around this hotel.
I liked everything during my stay in the Hotel. Location is perfect - straight in Altstadt. The only thing - it was quite difficult to find it as nobody around knows the names of the street & not every building has visible numbers.
location of hotel in the middle of the old town, friendliness of staff, big clean room water temperature in shower was not well adjustable
It was not so comfotable at the hotel:dirty, noisy.
Location was perfect for visiting the Christmas Market. Very friendly breakfast service. Close parking was a bonus!
the breakfast and the location. it's noisy late at night. there are a lot of people (drunk) on the street and coming up the stairs. it's near the bars, so that's what you get. it's still a great location.
location is fantastic. Service and reception at Hotel is great especially lady called Sadie I think- very helpful with smile on face nothing - love it
Excellent place. The friendly personnel. Not bad room. Good breakfast.
Great location in the Altstadt. When we booked a room in the AltDuesseldorf, we thought we would be staying in the AltDuesseldorf. However, upon check-in we were informed that we were booked in an "apartment" around the corner. True, the apartment was only a few minutes walk away and was clean & quiet...it just felt a little strange. It would be better to warn customers that during peak times at the AltDuesseldorf, they may actually be set up in an apartment building.
Literally inside the old town. Everything is close and in walking distance. The hotel is more like a family business but everyone is very willing. Only bad point was that the apartment we stayed in was 200 meters from the hotel and there was no phone to call direct the reception in case of a need.
place price service
It's not a real hotel, it's an apartment house posing as a hotel. Primitive is the best word I can think of to describe the place. Everything.
Room to front of hotel was very noisy. Spent most of the night reading due to all-night boozers not making it possible to sleep.
Its location at the centre of altstadt No
Hotel very well placed for Altstadt. Comfortable stay with friendly staff and pleasant breakfast.
location no tea / coffee facilities
The Abode Hotel is in an excellent location next to a Metro stop, the shops and eating area. It is basic, but good value, and our room was warm and comfortable. The breakfast was surprisingly good and the lady working in the morning was very charming, funny and helpful... The guy in the afternoon could do with cheering up but maybe we caught him on a bad day.... There was no sign outside.
Very conveniently situated, clean and comfortable room and friendly service. N/A
There was no reception and found it difficult being non German speaking to understand the procedure for checking in. The hotel was also difficult to find.
The hotel was very good the only thing i would say it would be better if there was coffee and tea facilties in the room other wise it was very good.
The hotel abode is very comfotable inviting hotel however my qualm was that i could not find it as it is not signed up as hotel from the outside makes it very hard to find,it ,was at night ,i took 1 and half hours to find it! When i got into the hotel found a cosy and inviting room, not bad value for money and friendly staff also.
Location is perfect!!! almoust nobody can't speak in english...and reception not open 24 hour. when i ask about pay..i went another hotel because in abode was nobody on reception!for familys it can be very nosy because all bars and pubs near and tram stop near hotel
