Fantastic, impeccable and beyond reproach. This was, in summary the perfect escapade for Granada I feel; and my wife echoes my comments too. Staff were most helpful and jolly; and it had a most magnificent night view of the Catedral and Alhambra. Also, within walking distance to most shopping areas and bazaars. NONE!
Location Noise from traffic
Front staff was very helpful. The room is of Modern Design, but in some way not convenient.
Salvatore, at front desk, went far above and beyond with his hospitality and helpful information. Great attitude
The reception staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, providing plenty of suggestions for eating and exploring. The hotel room was spacious and clean. The location is by far the best aspect of this hotel as it is only a block from the Cathedral (where you can catch a bus to the Alhambra) and the Albaycin and about 3 blocks from Puerta Nueva. The more backpacker style tapas bars are right next door on Calle Elivira, although people may need to go a bit further afield if they are looking for a more refined experience.
The hotel staff were outstanding. They were quick to help and set a high quality of service. In the spa, there were a few minor things that needed work. One of the features didn't function and there was some part that looked in need of a bit of repair. ...and lastly the lighting... it seemed like there was a light that was. These are minor points though, I really enjoyed the spa.
Located within a few blocks of the center of the city, this beautiful hotel is a prize. Friendly multi-lingual staff; comfortable, clean, modern rooms; roof top bar -- what is there not to like? Really enjoyed ourselves.
The staff were superb, especially the lovely Salvador! The location can't be beaten, the standard of fixtures and fittings is very high and there is some flair to the design. The rooms are not suitable as twin rooms - a twin room merely comprises a king sized bed made up as two singles, not separated at all and there is no door to separate the bathroom, merely doors on the toilet and shower cubicles. So the rooms are only recommended for singles or very close couples!
Beautiful hotel and fantastic location, very friendly and helpful staff. We had a corner room on the second floor which was very nice, but had a strange open layout with the toilet being virtually inside the bedroom - bit of an awkward room design.
This is a very comfortable city-centre hotel, well designed, with friendly, helpful staff, and a nice spa.
The free wifi, the remaining of the 16 centuries underground in the entrance of the hotel, near to Alhamra 10 min by taxi, the old & new shopping stores No dry clean service, the bathroom aparts no privacy, and there is smell in the bathroom
the location was good. clean. the room we got was toward inner side of the building, so there was neither bright sun light nor fresh air. The soundproof was really bad that I can hear voice and toilet sound from the next room and I had to bear every slam of the door in other rooms.
Location, location, location
Very Helpful Staff A little too much traffic noise
location was great, parking was good but hard to get to. no pool
very very clean. and near by downtown no
Convenience to sites in Granada
location,helpful staff,good facilities
Each time I go to Granada, I go to this hotel! The employees are really friendly and this time they reserved me a particularly great room! It was perfect for that week-end because I planned to propose! I was really happy with the room and the whole service!!! Great!!! Because of the location, this is indeed a little bit loud. But the location itself, near from everything, makes it easy to forget.
this hotel is in a perfect location for all the sights in granada, the staff were all very helpful, the breakfast was superb and the room modern and clean.
a rarely seen "real four star hotel". Design, comfort, cleanliness, perfect location and the most importantly "the high sensitivity and instant problem solving actions on even minor problems and complains", are the positive aspects of the hotel that I liked. good but not excellent buffet breakfast (according to international aspect),
Good location, room a bit small but in perfect conditions, large bathroom, and parking
Location is absolutely fantastic. Also at night there is terrasse with overview to the Cathedral.
It is very good in all You are considering Staff : they are professional but could be more friendly and not so formal
the best hotel i have ever stay in, everything was so amazing, i really liked my room, and the hotel is renovated so everything looks perfect...
Came to visit some friends that were already familiar with the area. -cleaniess of the room -spacious -staff members were great -close to all the cafes, tapas, restaurants and shops -next to the bus stop to see the Alhambra -there are a few signs for the hotel but it could use some more as there are no major streets to it. That's about it.
everything very good nothing
Really small room. I've requested for a non smoking room and they gave me a smoking one. Window view poor, just in front of a wall. I would have given this hotel 4 stars category. I would have given 2 or 3 stars no more.
location was great, bang in the city centre. Good hotel Poor internet access.
friendly and competent staff, communication in english or french possible, very clean rooms, good breakfast, central location There is only one thing which is inherent to its central location-quite noisy not to be recommended to people to sensitive about that( we had to use ear plugs first and second night afterwards we were too tired:-)))
central,relatively quiet location,friendly staff,good sized room
nothing special. Receptionists were not very helpful and welcoming on our arrival. Room was too hot and no windows on the outside to air the room. Breakfast was horrible and finally we had to pay for extended checkout, definately overrated!
Central Location, friendly staff
The reason I selected Santa Paula was because the Hotel is in a 14 th century house , convent., medieval courtyard and the location.Unfortunately I did not receive the rooms I requested (courtyard view). I was not told the "type" of rooms I reserved were not located on the courtyard. Very frustrating. We revived every day in the Turkish Bath and sauna. The staff were helpful . Your descriptions and prices are extremely misleading. The reason I selected The ac Santa Paula was because the Hotel is in a historic building with a medieval courtyard + location.I Specifically requested a court yard room .I specifically requested 2 rooms on the court yard. We received 2 tiny new rooms in a new wing I did not know existed. The staff informed me the rooms I reserved were not on the court yard! Why did not some one inform me upon my reservation. The next morning the gracious staff moved our belongings to rooms facing the courtyard. They did not inform us that the court yard (not on the court yard level but facing the court yard) rooms were not the same rate I had been quoted substantially $$. Very frustrating experience.
We were upgraded to the older section of the hotel which was very quiet. The room was very spacious and nicely appointed. Last few nights in Spain, thought we would splurge. Hotel recommended some excellent restaurants.
very well situated
Extremely friendly staff, well positioned hotel, excellent bathroom with huge bath, free minibar, we had free coffee every morning ordered through room service. Only 1 english speaking tv channel - CNN.
The best thing about staying at the hotel was free internet acces, the courtyard, easy acces to the centre of the city. Free mini bar was good There was no music channel availabe through the tv. No cd player or radio to listen too. The safey deposit box should be in the room with a coded box. The sauna facilites were good but a swimming pool would have bene better. No tea and coffe facilites availabe in the room.
Fabulous hotel layout with good food selection for breakfast. Location is great for access to Alhumbra. Hotel is a converted monastery so had lots of space and many interesting alcoves to explore. Very clean and well serviced except for drinks waiter who 'forgot' to serve us more than one drink. Very poor drinks service in the lounge
style of hotel and convenient position
excellent service, helpful front desk, great location, knowledgeble about restaurants, etc
perfect location, nice room expensive, especially meal services
The location was great for sightseeing, the staff was efficient though English was hard to come by. The room was spacious & the shower was great - all the hot water u & a love need. Breakfast option was pre-purchased, everything but fresh fruit! Stayed in room 602 - well worth the upgrade Parking was not straight forward but once done was a breeze leaving
the very helpful desk staff that were able to assist us with our stay and provided accurate information about Granada
Good location, helpful reception staff, good breakfast buffet Slightly noisy outside on Saturday night, passing locals and bar not connected to the hotel
Kathy at the front desk was fluent in English and helped us in several ways. The floor of our room was not very clean.
The location of the Anacapri was off the main boulevards making it quiet in a noisy city. The location is very central to all the sites and easy to reach by bus. The room was very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. The hotel has pleasant, helpful English speaking staff. Our room was a good size, but I saw others that looked very small. The wi-fi was free because we showed Rick Steve's Travel Guide, otherwise there was a high fee for it. Also, the wi-fi had to be reprogramed several times while we were there...they need to get that fixrd permanently.
Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.
Staff friendly and helpful. Able to give accurate and useful information about site seeing in Granada No parking. Although did give alternative once we had arrived, would be useful to have that information before arrival.
The hotel is very close to the cathedral and the shopping centre of Granada. It is at walking distance to the old centre of Granada and we only took the bus to the Alhambra because we did not want to make the climb up. Excellent value for money.
This hotel provided us with a great accommodation including a smile from Kathy at no cost!. She looked after our reservation for the Alhambra with a speed and efficiency when we have registered at the hotel and gave us tips on the city tours. What a nice touch to our traveling in Spain! Thank you, Kathy. We have no complains about this hotel in Granada. Enjoyed our stay tremendously.
Very centrally located and clean. Has wifi available in lobby free. Front desk staff spoke excellent English and were very helpful when I worked with them. Walls are thin and people are loud late after midnight in this hotel. If you open interior or exterior windows it will be very loud in your room. Bring ear plugs.
The location was excellent. Breakfast coffee poor.
Very convient for town centre Lift not operating on the last day
It was in a very central part of the town. The entrance lobby looked good. First, booking.com stated that 3 adults+1 child could stay at the room for 40 euros with no charge for the extra bed; however, they charged us an extra 20 euros for the extra bed. Second, the WC was very cramped and the bed covers and pillows were not very clean.
The personnel/staff are really nice and the room and bathroom are very confortable and clean.
The hotel is really in the center Rooms are very small and noisy. Reaching the hotel by car is very difficult: there is a limited traffic zone, with checking cameras, and the hotel is inside
The location of Hotel Universal was perfect, close to everything. The parking was ideal as we knew our motorbike was secure. The Hotel was close to everything you would need. The Hotel Staff were all polite The Cafeteria downstairs
Good location, very clean and quiet, staying at the hotel was a pleasant experience, I recommend it
Very nice and spacious rooms. Parking just across the street. Very nice staff. Convenient location.
Friendly helpful staff who spoke English made everything very easy. I especially liked the good design of the ensuite room. The hotel's central location was ideal for my purposes. It was very peaceful the first night of my stay. The second night was spoilt by a man talking loudly and constantly for several hours somewhere in the lobby area. I was awake at 5.0am and I first heard him then. I couldn't get back to sleep because of his talking, I think he must have been a staff member, perhaps the night porter, or otherwise someone would surely have told him to be quiet. I didn't want to interfere, as I'm a disabled person and avoid conflict.
very handy for all places of interest road noise during night
A small room but it was well cleaned. The staff was courteous.
Location, helpful staff, modern clean room Lack of coffee making facilities in room
Incredible location right next to the Cathedral and the bus stop to Alhambra, Albayzin and the caves
Closeness to the city centre. Its waste water plumbing. Quite poor for a hotel that is so good in other areas. You sometimes get smells from the drains in the bathroom. Rather than trying to tackle the problem, it appears to want to ameliorate it, the installation of a secondary room day, in the case of my room.
Helpful staff and well located. The room was clean and had all the amenities required.
Helpful and friendly staff fantastic location
The hotel is surrounded by bars and pubs, it was impossible to sleep during the weekend starting on Thursday. Drunk people screaming and braking bottles on the street all night long.
The personnel were very friendly and the hotel was cozy and inviting.
Staff was very helpful, room clean and the location good:)
the location, very helpful personnel
The hotel is ideally located for exploring ‘old’ Granada, is a few hundred metres from the cathedral and our room (501) was overlooked by Alhambra’s Alcazaba .The hotel staff were excellent and parking was convenient and well priced. The hotel is not easy to find despite the instructions provided. Best to find the Plaza Isabel la Catolica (200 metere from the hotel) and ask a taxi driver for instructions
the location. the parking. The street was quite noisy. the room looked a bit shabby (stains on the carpet and on the wall) for a four stars hotel.
The location is right in the centre of Granada and rooms are adequate. Bathrooms are small in comparison to room and need some upgrading. We had great difficulty in arriving to the hotel by car. The main street leading up to it, was a one way street and thus inaccessible. There was ony one sign on this main street with small letters saying traffic related to hotels was permissible. We missed this, and spent the best of two hours trying to make our way there. Furthermore, the street where the hotel is located was inaccessible due to ongoingroworks and the hotel garage was further down th hill, this we had to walk up with 4 luggages to reception desk. No assistance was offered. On day of departure receptionist would not assist with our luggages to go to garage and had it not been for the garage representative at the hotel to help out we would have had to carry all the luggage.
hotel location is excellent. close to all important turist site of the city 1.hotel is very noisy. 2. Breakfast is quite poor
Apart from the windowless room issue, this is a nice hotel in a good location, right at the edge of the old city. The hotel has a parking at the adjacent building, but it can fill up very quickly on busy periods, so it's worth checking beforehand for alternate parking (very few garages around the old city) . Reserved a standard room, but when I arrived at the hotel (on a very busy weekend), it turned out, to my surprise, that my room didn't even have a window (there was something that looked like a window, but it wasn't a window and couldn't be opened). Given that the A/C was working only on heat, there was no way to air the room which was pretty hot, and the hotel was fully booked, so they couldn't move me to a different room. I would've thought that a minimum requirement for a room in a 4-starts hotel is to have a window. Turns our I was wrong.
I was in a rush when I first came to check in. One of the staff said he would take care of the bags and I could finish my check in when I returned. When we returned a few hours later, check was quick and bags were delivered to our room. Then when we needed help once again at the front desk someone assisted us right away and got us the information we needed. Customer service was excellent. Water pressure was great too. Location was really close to everything. About 5 minute drive from Alhambra. Found a few hairs in the bathroom that were not ours (sink, bathtub). Standard Room was a bit small with our bags opened up and the washroom was tight as well. We were there on a Friday night and stayed up pretty late but when we decided to call it a night, we could still here a lot of noise from the street. Disadvantage of being in such a good location close to everything.
Friendly, efficient staff, valet parking, nice rooms, excellent breakfast.
Large room and bathroom with balcony and lovely view of mountains and Alhambra. Very comfortable bed and very quiet [though the hotel was not busy and possibly there was no-one else on our floor]. Unfortunately no mention of the ongoing roadworks which currently make it impossible to drive to the hotel. We eventually gave up trying, parked and walked the two blocks with cases. Would not have booked if I'd known, but once there the roadworks weren't a problem except to spoil the view of the road.
Very nice hotel in a fantastic location within walking distance to everything. A lot of street noise n mattress was very hard not the luxury mattresses you would expect in this type of hotel. But I would certainly stay here again.
The location. Staffs are not friendly. Wifi signal can be used only hotel lobby.
Friendly staff Bar shut by 1pm
Hotel was centrally located for walking almost anywhere. Parking facility was good although expensive. We had an excellant room which was maintained very well. The room which we occupied had no safe.
The easy and relaxing atsmosphere of the hotel. The friendly and helpful staff at all times. Nothing I disliked. Everything was very pleasant.
Excellent location Parking is 5 minutes from the hotel
Amazing location on a beautiful square. Brand new, beautifully designed hotel. Lovely rooms with small balconies overlooking square. Helpful staff. And for the price, it's brilliant. Noise from the square - lots of birds! Would have been nice if breakfast was included, or had at least been offered.
very comfortable, convenient location, friendly nothing
proximity to Alhambra / reasonable
good location and staff were helpful. Hotel was good quality and in good condition. Breakfast was also very good.
Although the hotel was only a stones throw from the bustling Plaza Nueva, we could hardly hear a pin drop from our ground floor room. The hotel itself, is beautifully presented, clean, with an informal atmosphere. I've already recommended the place to my family! The staff were focused and efficient all of whom speak good English. The hotel is perfectly located at the foot of the Albaycin quarter, 50 metres from Plaza Nueva and only a few further metres walk to the nearest bus stop to catch the bus up to the Alhambra. I've mentally book-marked Placio Santa Innes for my return trip to Granada! We discovered that there was one small bar that only opened up after midnight directly around the corner from the hotel entrance that sounded like patrons were allowed to stand outside and talk loudly (like only the spanish do), which from our point of view was a bit annoying when lying in bed trying to sleep at the end of an exhausting day. This wasn't every night, but nonetheless.
Really convenient for visiting Alhambra and shops. Good access to restaurants. Hotel was quiet, clean, nice building. The family room consisted of one double bed and one sofa bed in duplex upstairs for the kids which apparently was limit on comfort.
The charm of the building was amazing as being a restauration from an old maur house dating from the invasion. Poor staff services overpriced extra night stay.
Well-located (heart of the Albaicin), historic and charming converted palacio. Lovely courtyards. Our room had a great view of the Alhambra. Decor was fairly upscale but authentic and not overdone. Staff was indifferent at best. Breakfast could be a haphazard affair, with tables unset and the buffet incompletely stocked well after stated breakfast hours. No in-room wireless; just in the main lobby.
Good location. Spacious rooms. Good choice of breakfast,as much tea and coffee as you would like. Felt the staff were not very interesting seemed to have a get together in the bar/for staff room just off the hall, every morning at 9am when the cleaners came in. Beware if requesting tickets for The Alhambra, emailed before we arrived but no tickets when we got there!!!!!!!
The position of the hotel was excellent, the decoration and ambience of the interior perfect and just what we expected.
Friendly, helpful staff and excellent position
Location of the hotel was great and the staff was excellent. I would definitely stay there again. None
Very good central location on a street with some good bars.
Location is very nice.
central location: two minutes from the airport bus stop; handy for tapas bars and for the cathedral some noise from the street at night was unavoidable; little to see from the windows
location, cleanliness, value for money
The room and bathroom were both very comfortable and spacious We had 3 actual beds for 3 people!. THe breakfast buffet was incredible! The reception person was not very polite or helpful.
Location and staff are very good
In pedestrian zone, central, reasonable breakfast, helpful English speaking staff Outside noise in alley making it hard to leave window open for fresh air
We liked the room, and breakfasts, friendly and helpful staff whose assistance in navigation was invaluable
location was excellent and we used the nearby Tapas Bars a few nights.
Location. Comfort. Cleanliness. Helpfulness of slaff. Value. No
The location was great for getting to the Alhambra and the Cathedral. One member of the reception staff was placing his own work ahead of attending to incoming patrons. He was reluctant to be of assistance twice in our short stay--fortunately there were others to fill in and pick up the slack. No English channel for news.
The location is ecxcellent. The stuff was very kind. the room is comfort. The parking is un site. Who needs more....? The location
Good central location, helpful staff on reception. Excellent breakfast. Everywhere spotlessly clean. Will recomend your hotel to any of my friends visiting Granada Our stay was fine, there was no problems or things we didn´t like
Good central location to shops and eating. Friendly staff that spoke english. The hotel room was very dated (we felt as if we were back in 1985). No breakfast.
The hotel is very good value for money. I like the fact that tehy are interested in environmental issues (towels) everything was good
Location is good. Value for money. We requested non-smoking room, but the room we had was most likely smoking room. You can tell from the smell.. but we could wide open the window and after a while it was alright.
great location, walking distance to anything, quiet rooms expensive parking
Parking was available, parking attendant very friendly and patient. Granada is beautiful. The signage on the hotel, and to the hotel is confusing and wrong. Signs to the hotel point in the wrong direction, the Hotel has two different hotel names on the building, even though there is only one hotel. The reception staff were rude and had no understanding of customer service - it was my problem that the direction signs were wrong and I should have known that it was the Hotel Gran Via even though the sign above the reception entrance door has another hotel name. I had e-mailed the hotel twice asking for clear directions to the car park - all I got back was confirmation that we had requested a space. Granada is still beautiful
It was vary centrally located. The staff were very courteous and efficient. The beds were comfortable and the linen clean.I also liked we could park the car in the hotel. The breakfast was good value.. The first room we were given smelled strongly of cigarettes!
The bed was tiny but very comfortable. The bedroom is very poorly lit - so that you can barely read in bed.
Excellent location in the city center of Granada. Most places easily reachable by foot. Nice room with fantastic veranda (room 503). Very small lobby and room space little bit small (but not unexpected for such buildings in the city center). Steps to reach elevator with luggage.
The staff were very helpful and friendly. The location of the hotel is convenient with easy access to all main points off the city. The room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfast was excellent!
super friendly staffs, clearn & modern room
The receptionist was very friendly and wifi was for free.
The hotel staff provided very good services. Before our arrival, they gave us sufficient info. on how to get to their hotel and helped us in booking Alhambra tickets. Upon our arrival, they gave us a lot of instrucutions on transportation and restaraunt. The hotel room was wonderful with nice decoration and comfortable facility. We felt really satisfied with this hotel.
Good position, right in Granada center, pedestrian zone. That means on the other hand that a parking is near only paying 18 Euro per night. But that's the general situation in Granada, and not the hotel's fault. Anyway, nice place for city trip.
Nearness to city center The impracticability to reach the hotel by car to deliver the luggage (what is out of your power to do something about)
Location was great. Very friendly staff.
excellent rooms and bathrooms, great breakfast- all fresh and well stocked up would have preferred a proper double bed instead of twin beds
Raphael at the front desk was immensely helpful. Despite being a one-man show, he was very helpful and accommodating. Location of the hotel was fantastic as well. Even though the front desk was not staffed 24/7, frankly, there isn't so much to do in Granada that will keep you out of your hotel after 11pm. There is an additional door hiding the door to our room. Feels a bit creepy.
