Stayed at Manila Hotel 35 years ago and it was luxurious and elegant then and it still is! Breakfast buffet was more like a brunch! It was excellent, delicious but sinful ! The second time we were there it was very crowded but then considering it was a weekend, it's understandable !
staff is very kind and professional. Lobby is graceful and beautiful. room is good for 5 star common. If you didn't want to stay in central Manila, It is good choice to stay this hotel. 1.There is not a guide map. only small one-post card is a map. Swimming pool is some small. but It is good for child and adult also.

Lobby was fabulous. Breakfast was fantastic. Ambiance seems like a blast from the old manila The check in counter was a bit slow in processing transactions. Bathtub draining does not work on our room. Single bed is a bit small and requires limited sleeping movement

The buffet breakfast was really good. Ms. Cruz was very helpful. When you booked online, you need to know how their rooms really look like. They place me in the worst rooms (which was on the side of the hotel building). I have been in Manila Hotel a lot of times and I was very upset when I entered the room (smelly, dusty, old) does not look like what I saw in their website. you can asked for the manager and have her (ms.mcruz) fixed the problem.
The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive. The bedding is excellent and the furnishings are all nice. The bathrooms are very nice too. Didn't have meals other than the breakfast buffet, which was the nicest I have ever had, in any hotel (previous stays U.S., Canada and Europe). Had never been to the Philippines and wasn't sure what to expect in accommodations. Manila Hotel surpassed my expectations by a significant margin. Has a feel of true luxury. Some of the surrounding areas seem like they could be a little unsafe. This is not a criticism of the hotel, which is over 100 years old and has probably seen much change in the city. The hotel takes safety and security of its guest very seriously. Just ask them if you have questions about the surrounding areas. We did venture out for dinner and were careful. Keep most of your money in the hotel safe and don't be alone if possible. Bottom line is I will still look to stay here when in Manila.
Not much The carpets are dirty and needs replacements. The lights are uneven. The old charm of the hotel has vanished. It looks old rather than historic. It looks tired and at time tacky.
The trademark of the hotel is definitely the in-room aquarium, which is why I wanted to try it out. My 6 year old daughter was entertained and spent hours watching the fish swim around. Ocean park is right outside as well. Excellent location for guests planning to visit. Shower and toilet were clean and the water heated up very quickly. Decent Wi-fi speed. Bed was comfortable. Room service was quick. All you can eat breakfast buffet is really good since its free for 2 guests per night. But I had a few guests over for breakfast and i felt like paying 600 php per head was a little too much. Service was excellent. Bath tub placement was questionable since it was out in the open. Not a problem for kids who want to swim around but no privacy for adults who want to take a bath (unless it's more of a couple's romantic weekend, then it wouldn't be a problem). Menu for in-room dining is very limited. Some of the decorative pillows looked like they needed to be replaced. I was really hoping to get a room with a view of Manila Bay AND an aquarium, but its either 1 or the other. I would have paid extra for the suite, but it had no aquarium.
The fishes and water tank in the room... Awesome view. For first time visiting, it would be nice to be given a short view of what the hotel is, where it's located, what's around, and what we can do in the hotel or sounding area.

The location of the hotel and the comfort or the room I did not like the fact that in the room the breakfast was stated as starting at 6.00 am and finishing at 11.00 am but when I went down for my breakfast at 10.20 am I was told that it finished at 10.00am not as it was stated in the room.
I wanted to write you and tell you about my experience staying at H20 I am a Disabled American , when i arrived the elevator outside was not working and they dont tell me you have a ramp so i had to walk up the steps into the hotel. No one took us their we had a hard time find entrance to go too the 3rd floor. Once im on 3rd floor i had bellman tell front desk if they have special check in for disabled so i dont have to stand in line, the lady told him yes then ignored me and took 6 more people ahead of me. I talked with Bhelle and asked about park she told me buy tickets there and we can use them the next day if we dont see all teh attractions. I asked can i buy there she said no from concierge. we went concierge and he said no got buy at ticket window. So we did that then we go to park at 2pm the next day and cant finish attractions and then they say we cant use them the next day. had i known that i would not have got the 750p tickets. My kids very dis-pointed. The hotel is very un helpful to disabled handicapped people. Their was a lot of garbage outside our window, room 2101. They did put us in the wheel chair room as i needed wheelchair. We were booked in a room with twin beds. Hotel is clean food good but after 3 days sick of eating at same resto and same food. Aquarium in the room if you select this option. Modern room confortable. Too expensive. Awful brreakfast in a fast food area, bad quality disproportionate with the quality of rooms and price. If breakfast is important to you do not go there.

nothing Hotel room is dirty - bedclothes are dirty and have holes... Bathroom is not cleaned properly ( wall full of dirty stains, ceiling has mildew, towel handler has never been cleaned, bathtop is rusty etc...), 15 years old iron without water etc... i had dinner in their "Rotisserie" restaurant - same problem of cleanliness ( table cloth with stains : sauce? wine? ). I needed to wait 10 minutes to get my tea during breakfast. Internet very slow. this hotel is overpriced and shouldn't be referenced by booking.com ; so far, a very bad experience in this hotel. it doesn't worth the price ( it looks cheap but it's overpriced regarding service and cleanliness.. ). Even some 2 stars hotels are cleaner. if booking.com interested, i kept pictures.
Close to airport, staff were friendly but one day, i wanted to have our room serviced but I came back before the housekeeper get to our room and the tip was gone. The guests by our room was very noisy. I don't mind if it's before 12am but they were partying until 3 to probably 4 in the morning. I couldn't get a good night rest.
The hotel was clean and nice. The air conditioning worked extremely well. The bed was soft and extremely comfortable. The TV didn't work properly at first. There was sound but no picture. We called the front desk and it took just over 30 minutes for the guys to come fix it. By that time I had already found the problem and fixed it, and called the desk to cancel the repairs. But the guys still came to fix it 15 minutes later. This is extremely annoying at midnight when I'm about to go to bed with my wife. I want to find the owner of this place and go knock on his door at midnight for no reason.
Nice and peaceful I told front desk to change blankets on the bed and they didn't change it, very disappointed on there service

Proximity to embassy. Restaurant downstairs was good and room service was prompt. Location was less than 5 minutes to embassy and with traffic one hour from international airport. Cleanliness, seemed tone lacking in general it's needing better upkeep and detailing. Near the road so you hear a bit of traffic at all hours. Walls are thin so if your a light sleeper you could be woke up from the knocking next door.

The location. I was the only one in the front desk - and the gentleman did not even ask me if I need anything. I had to ask him if he can help me to check-in - very unprofessional. We checked in to room 726 - kept coughing and sneezing in the middle of the night due to the a/c filter was so filthy. Finally turned it off and the coughing and sneezing stopped. Went to frontdesk, and had maintenance check it out - I even took a picture of the filter. He kept insisting that it's clean even you can see how filthy it is with your naked eye. He won't admit that it's so dirty - I did not bother to argue. I do not recommend this hotel at all!

Courteous staff, clean room and facilities, trustworthy parking attendants, very reasonable prices, location close to U.S. Embassy, reasonable "hotel service car" prices to the airport (600 pesos). Slow elevator service, tinted window in rooms is old and distorted, which ruins the view of the ocean front.
The staff compensates for the poor faciliy. The only up side in this hotel is the desire of their staff to make up for the poor hotel condition. I would rate their staff A. However, the rooms have really disturbing issues. 1. Chairs and beds are worn out and the carpet have evidence of molds growing in them. The toilet pluming is old and often have the danger of clogging up. 2. The corridor carpets have evidence of molds growing in them as well. 3. The management of this hotel clearly must have serious capital issues as their hotel needs serious renovation ,not to mention,major cleaning up operation to make their hotel safe for guest. 4. This hotel will not pass under US standards and will most likely be shut down for health hazard conditions. Definitely not recommended for ASTHMATIC,COPD or people taking immuno suppressant drugs.
Showers are great! Best next to the Yokohama bay Sheraton. a 2nd pillow..
Rooms are modern, clean, and large. Only one thing I would change to make the room perfect, a soft chair to relax in. Room is equipped with hard chairs like you would expect to see in a dining room.
Food was good and the hotel was very clean.. Staff was almost too polite, but very helpful Some of the hotel's drivers had unclear prices and were reluctant to tell me until I had arrived at my destination.. They were also far too expensive, charging me as more than triple the rate of a regular taxi. My stay would have been perfect had the drivers been more honest. To be fair this was not typical of every driver at your hotel. The drivers Ruel and Gerry were very good.. Also on another occasion I asked the driver to bring me to a regular bar but he brought me to a whore/prostitute bar instead. This was hilarious for me but I can imagine other guests becoming offended at this.
- Location...Near to Dr. Rizal Garden etc - Staff: So abundant in fact they can cut down. - Breakfast- Complimentary ...yet excellent with a mix of healthy aswell tasty item combinations...buffet style. - Personally speaking I don't like local [Philippine cousin] Best Western is good alternative for me. -Staff very courteous. - Bathroom had inadequate shelving for all my needs, items - Their dinner pricing was higher than surrounding eataries like McDonald, Wendy and other places. - I am always looking for best value.. It fit my budget well. No complaints.

My booking was correct and the service good. When I had a situation where the Aircon stopped working I was moved to another room with no problems or upset. In dealing with the problem they were quick and decisive. When I asked the Concierge if it was possible to get another pillow the young man replied that it was and he would bring it in a few minutes. No additional pillow was delivered.
Walking distance to Rizal Park, Ocean Park and Robinson Mall. Good breakfast buffet. Staff was super friendly and helpful. They need to rethink the mattress. Upgrade to pillow top or memory foam. If you like it firm it's up your alley.
Close to the Sikat-bus, which goes to Batangas/Puerto Galera The standard room was extremely noisy due to traffic and bad windows. The staff does not hesitate to lie to your face.
I liked the room I did not like the inside bar it was hard to hear yourself speak, the staff at the bar were not experienced, however the breakfast staff were great.The checkin took to long and the front desk staff were not overly helpful
Mr Nard is your examplery good staff.We always get right info from him.He is very polite ,respectfullness yet trustsfullness and helpfullness.He can speak Malay fluently and this is good for guests from Malaysia,Indonesia and Brunei especially the guests whose English is under parr. No complaint so far.

For the price of 48 USD stabdard room: a) a hearty breakfast-food was great but suggest that they switch to brewing coffee-Philippnes has one of the best arabica's from Batangas) rather than the tasteless instant variety;b) Free english newspaper;c) Relatively reliable and fast free wifi connection;d) friendly and super helpful staff;e) room large enough for a couple and possibly a kid or 2 without feeling cramped and with its own bathroom facilities (also suggest a more powerful lamp for reading as an extra) and e) Walking distance to a large swanky mall-Robinson's--all for USD 48 ! None-I got more than I paid for. In the earlier reviews, guest noted the location and its seediness. In my opinion, nothing short term can be done with poverty and its daily manifestations in Manila. The hotel is located in an older section of Manila once renowned as a red light district in the hey day of US military visiting Manila for its R and R break. Do I feel unsafe? No but using common sense anywhere one is traveling to is always a good rule be it in Baltimore, USA or in Manila, Philippines.
We liked the location, very convenient to atm, food, stores. But after dark there are homeless around. View out window was good. Room size was good. Buffet was best in restaurant. (See the bad parts of this review because they FAR outweigh the good). Bad: A/C was noisy and leaked on the floor, smelled of mildew, carpet was filthy & stained, shower burnt us, hot in elevators & lobby, welcome drink so small it's a joke, room service menu missing items advertised, they charge ALOT for free local
Just a basic room. Not as advertised. All though the room was clean and affordable I booked for 2 adults and 1 youth. Their was only 1 small bed. In a very large room. And if we wanted a second bedroom it was $20 more. If we want more pillows it was $10 more. If we want blanket 10 Nightly
The Hotel has a victorian feel of elegance, with a large ltiled floor lobby with soft furnishings. The wide tiled stairway leads to a firstfloor balcony overlooking a courtyard, this also has soft furnishings and a snooker table, plus a cage with two love birds in the corner. two coridors left and right lead to the rooms. there is also a top floor with more rooms. This was my second stay at the hotel and we were upgraded to a similar sized room with a kitchenette, however the room had a older although well maintained aircondition unit. Unfortunately mice were getting into the room. It was very noisy first thing in the morning from staff and guests alike. The room was right next to the stairs leading to the top floor and worse still opposite the linen supply cupboard were the staff would congregate talk and chat loudly early in the morning 5:00
