The staff was very helpful. The locations was great! The room was large and very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel and stay here again. No
The size of the room. The location of the hotel. The value of the hotel in what you got for your money.
The only thing I can say is, it's centeraly located nothing else was intresting. well, this is not a 4 star, if I wanna rate it, I would say 2.5, it is a old building which you can hear people in aisle and from other rooms, staff can't speak english or they dont want to (which is not acceptable) and I dont know why they employed them! I asked to clean my room but it didnt happen(they forgot), and the rate they charged was different from what I booked.
The beds are old
Good location on the shopping street, plenty of malls and places to eat cheaply. Good price for the location. Taxis, can't get to the hotel as it is pedestrian only area. Problems with elevators meant that the stairs were needed. Ground floor looked like a deserted/disused shopping mall in the evening. Not a nice place to enter after 11pm. Restaurant/breakfast area shabby, no internet access except two shared machines. Under-staffed.
the plaies and the staff in the hotel
The best thing about the hotel is its location, close to shopping and restaurants. Inattentive reception staff, poor elevator service
Hotel was well located. Staff was competent. Room was large enough for three people comfortably. Bathroom was large and facilities all worked well. Room was kept clean and neat by staff. Relatively quiet.
The convenience of its location. The front office staff where very attentive and we really appreciated their good command of the English Language! Nothing we did not like about the hotel, it was great, but please do not restrict "William Walker" as the only person able to reply to this survey. Please give other options such as me (his wife!!) - after all you sent this email to ME not him!!!
Location No views at all. Breakfast included and was supposed to open at 6:30 but still no hot entrees by 6:50.
Great room for the price
Very well run, comfortable, centrally located hotel with courteous staff who helped with every request. Highly recommended.
the location is very good They gave us a very small and noisy room compared with the rest of the rooms that had the same prize. The staff were not very helpful, I asked them for a hairdresser and they couldnt direct me to one, I also had an emergency and need batteries and they couldnt help me either. They told us when we arrived that breakfast was included and then when we were leaving they charged us for it. In the reservation the breakfast wasnt included but since the receptionist mentioned it, we just believed her and then paid an enormus amount of money for it. There is no iron on the rooms, so you have to pay to get your clothes ironed.
great location and breakfast... nice, confortable rooms. Very friendly hotel staff.
It was extremely clean and very comfortable. The staff was very helpful with suggestions and directions for things to do and getting around Buenos Aires. It was our favorite hotel during our trip to Argentina. The complimentary breakfast was generous and excellent as well.
Hotel staff were helpful and lent me cash as I was having withdrawing cash problem Wifi terrible pool and spa available
An excellent hotel with excellent services; good location, close to the centre and several restaurants; excellent value for money
The room was so comfortable, beautiful bed linen, pillows and towels. Very luxurious.
the staff and the acomodations
Breakfast and room comfort There was some noise coming from the air conditioning equipment outside.
The location can't be beat. Across the street from bars and a Subway and close to the best restaurants in town. Tours pick you up at the hotel. Plus, as you're aware, the exchange rate is a challenge. Although the official exchange rate is 8 to 1USD, the hotel offered 11. This was a huge help as it's not as good at shady black market outlets will give you at 13, but it prevents you from having to go to these places. The host at breakfast was a total jerk. Staff in general could use an attitude adjustment, but this guy takes the cake. The doormen were the only people that showed any interest at all.
Location is ok, breakfast is great. The Staff was sort of angry the entire visit; from front desk to room service (note - housekeeping was good although there was no interaction with myself) ,I felt unpleasantly greeted. Miscellaneous notes- the fitness room is mediocre not because of the equipment but because there is no ventilation in the basement where the pool and gym are- which made it very difficult to breathe while running/ working out.
It's well located to my local office and a quaintly unique boutique setting. It's small enough that the staff remembers you when you come and go and you are not lost in the crowd, which can tend to be the case at larger hotels. There wasn't anything I didn't like. I would have liked to swim with the roof open since it was warm out and the roof was not retracted. It was summer time so I figured they would have opened it up. Not a big issue and it more than made up for it in every other way.
This was my second stay at Alvear Art. I returned because I enjoyed my first time. I like the location: the area ranging from the Plaza de Mayo all the way up to Recoleta contains a lot that interests me. I enjoy sitting on a bench in Plaza San Martin and listening to the birds and the city while reading something thoughtful and contemplating life. It's nice too to have within walking range a number of nice restaurants. The hotel staff was glad to advise me and make suggestions. The servers in the hotel restaurant treated me like a friend. I believe I have found my place to stay in Buenos Aires.
the location was very good. Hotel facilities were also of a very good standard. Room quite large for price. toulet had not been cleaned. Staff were not very friendly or helpful.
The room's confort that it was not possible to have a soup of the menu during room service time.
The hotel is increadible! It´s very confortable and clean. The bathroom is suberb! There is no room service through the night long. The breakfast is very poor comparing to the hotel level. At least, I wonder if the´s a hairdresser at the hotel.
We enjoyed the helpful staff, cleanliness of hotel and the overall quality was very good A more reasonably priced breakfast would have been a big plus. Expensive buffet breakfast of little interest and not always convenient to leave each morning to have breakfast
location aircondition badly functioning - can not open window wide enough to ventilate. - matress was awful, felt like waterbed, when ever the other person moved, you moved too.
Everything is a wonderfull elegant hotel , and you can get it for a very economic rate.
good location and big room.
the location and the side of the room together with the garden vieux. the internet acces is pour in the room
The facade of the hotel is nothing special- a 19 or 20 story brick building; however, the lobby is very pretty with spiral staircases and marbe pillars. The rooms are a good size and very clean. They charge for the internet, for the water in the room, for the coffee machine in the room, and they charged me $20 US dollars for a collect call to my credit card company. Given that this is one of the more expensive hotels in Buenos Aires, this type of nickel and diming of guests is offensive. When you enter the hotel there are always 5 or 6 people waiting to open the door, yet when I could not set up the wireless connection and was connected to the business center,no one answered the phone-prefer having good service rather than the appearance of good service. The gym, which is advertised as state of the art, consists of a few treadmills and bikes and a universal machine and a few dumbells.Shower took 15 mins to get warm.
The location in a lovely part of Buenos Aires, design of the hotel public rooms and guest rooms, and staff were all excellent.
Possibility of early checking in and late checking out without any difficulty No real lunch or dinner facilities in the hotel
Staff goes out of their way to accommodate and make you feel welcome. Rooms are a good size and well equipped. Very comfortable. High standard. It's one of the better 4 Seasons Hotels. I've stayed there many times now and would definitely go back. No slippers in the room.
the staff, the breakfast, the rooms, the concierge didn't know that the pool was closing for maintenance and would be closed for 1 week. went to enjoy pool and wasn't not able.
The room was clean and the bed very confortable
Staff were pleasant and helpfull, location was excellent
Rooms at Level 8 and up are fully renovated with douple window to reduce noise level. The rooms are great. Staff was extremly helpful & friendly. In additioan, the loactioan is excellent. When booking through Booking.com, they will put you in a room below level 8. All these rooms are not renovated. After my complained I got "upgraded" to Level 8.
service was quite good; location was also good - local buses and subway line "D" nearby; excellent pizzeria and small shops around the corner; catholic church across the street but no bells ringing to disturb hotel guests; ample and good breakfast buffet the lights and tv in the room were a little difficult to figure out - at first it seemed like it was on a timer but after fooling around with it, we finally got it to work but it's not a matter of turning the switch on or off
The courtesy of the staff and the services offers to the clients. The bathtub is not good and the sliding door is very noisy.
Great location, really good value for the price, helpful staff, fair dollar to peso exchange rate at reception, good park view from upper floors, 12th floor room was very quiet, in room on the 6th floor we could sometimes hear quests in adjacent rooms, clean hot showers and bath tub. Never had WiFi problems. Would recommend and will be back Breakfast a little expensive if not provided with room price but has a large selection of items. Taxis hailed on the street at about half the price of remise ordered by front desk.
The hotel exceeded my expectations. I had read some not-so-great reviews of it after booking, and was considering changing hotels after the reviews... and I was glad I didn't! The staff was fantastic, the included breakfast was amazing, and most importantly i always felt like i was safe and my important items were very secure in their safe. The room was a bit noisy because my room overlooked the street and the windows are certainly not noise proof. But that did not affect my overall outlook on the hotel.
The people are very helpful and friendly. THe localization of the hotel is near the city center. Improve noise isolation
excellent service, very polite and helpful stuff, nice room good location.
The service was rich, you feel home There were some troubles sometimes with the lifts, nothing really bothering but total quality is still part of the luxury service they have to offer
It was lovely. Luxurious and charming staff. Did not like groups of noisy tourists.
Everything was perfect. Concierge was outstanding.
Location, boutique style environment, very quiet, breakfast, wait staff, large room, great bathroom, comfy beds. Breakfast was amazing and the wait staff was amazing. They fixed us little to-go container of cookies as a treat. Very attentive. I travel often and I wish all hotels were like this. Can't find one thing I didn't like!
We have travelled a fair bit and its the first hotel that have a policie no outside food or drinks allowed. (Acceptable if the hotel as a restaurant, but ut was not the case) We soon realized, on Christmas eve, all restaurant booked with reservation so we opted to buy a pizza and go back to the room. Well to our suprise the night clerk was very rude and obnoxious in refusing us to bring the pizza to the room. It was quite disappointing. We sat on the curb and enjoyed a slice and then gave it to people on the street. All to say , had we known that ahead we would not have rented this place. Very old, dated and cleanliness is less then desirable. Mildew in bathroom, ac was not cooling the place let alone we requested a second key so we could keep the unit on while away, and that was also an issue and a drama to get the key. All to say there is lots of hotel in BA and this is not one we would recommend.
High ceilings and elegant atmosphere from a time long ago.
The building was well kept and the staff was professional. The location of the hotel was ideal. We had visited the hotel 8 years ago and haddinner there and we decided to stay there this time. It lived up to our expectations.
1. Professional welcome and check-in 2. Large rooms 3. Charm and history of hotel 4. Location 5. Frontdesk staff 6. Proactive spa staff looking to accommodate schedules 1. Low energy lamps are ok, but they should choose to have a lightning that underlines the beauty of the hotel. Currently it's lightning is like in a hospital... 2. Breakfast area should be kept more tidier, when there are a lot of people. It was a bit messy.
Nice room, good food, excellent staff service. Internet connection poor.
The Plaza is a wonderful piece of Argentina's history. Excellent location in the heart of the shopping district. Wonderful, friendly, attentive personnel. Their recommendation for the restaurant 'Las Nazarenas' was one of our highlights, fabulous!!! It is a historic building, so there are some quirks, but in my opinion, well worth it. My only issue is that Wi-Fi should be included. However, it is for free in the lobby.
Nice location, free parking. Old furnish, the wall´s paint was very old, small room. Lack of maintenance in furnish and toilette.
There were hookers right outside of the hotel entrance. Lots of them. Nothing! everything was fine.
The hotel was very clean and the staff was helpful Even though wireless internet was not advertised, it is available. However appartently it does not reach the upper floors
well located good size king bed good tv selection and able to store luggage without cost breakfast was ordinary and breakfast room was crowded and plates were not removed quickly. 2 single beds when king bed was not available, rooms facing back of hotel did seem crowded and small
The location was perfect for what we had planned to do in Buenos Aires. Most of the main attractions are within walking distance, and if not, taxis are very cheap in the city. The staff was very helpful in getting more information for me. They looked up an address of a specific restaurant that I had in mind, and told me how to get there...and they took care of all the logistics for booking a Gaucho Ranch excursion. They had 2 computers available in the lobby with free access to the internet, which was just perfect for what we needed. Breakfast was a good buffet...nothing amazing, but it did the trick. Nothing horrible, but the hallway and rooms were too warm for our liking, and being the winter time still (Sep 7-10) I don't think the air conditioning was turned on, just the fan worked. We made due by opening the window a crack behind the drapes, and cooled the room just enough, and kept our wine cool behind there too.
The personal are very accomodating
The hotel is close of most importants touristics points of Buenos Aires' downtown. The staff of hotel, in most of situations, is very polite, mainly Pamela. She is very kind. The price is little high and the acoustic isolation of our room was terrible. But, in general, it was a good accomodation.
Everything was really great. The reservation was respected, very clean and quiet room, big and confortable double bed, nice bathroom with a jacuzzy. Breakfast is ok. The staff is heplful and polite. Localization: better impossible, two squares from 9 de Julio and two squares from Calle Florida, lots of good restaurants around. I'm sure i'll be back. None
The staff was very polite and kind; we got an upgrade to a luxury room that was excellent! The hotel is clean, the room is cozy and modern, the location is perfect, near the major shopping streets. Breakfast is a plus, with a good variety of food that is well made and fresh. An excellent choice for anyone going to Buenos Aires, definitely would stay again! Nothing, everything was perfect.
Kind people at reception and services; localization 1 - lack of energy for two nights left the rooms without air conditioning and light; to fix theenergy entrance cable was a task for the hotel that lost time to identify the problem and contract maintenance - no compensation given fo this fault: we expected a discount in rates for these two nights...but not.
The Feirs park was very central for our needs, quite spacious, and very handy to shopping, restaurants and transport hubs. Good buffet breakfast and good room facilities.
My wife and I stayed for 8 nights in connection with an international sport event. From the location to the staff to the size of the room were all beyond our expectations. We walked to almost every neighborhood in the city. The supermarket across the street was a real convenience. The staff is very friendly. We liked everything.
Room was comfortable. Good breakfast The room was a little run down- with the door broken. The bathroom was extremely small and claustrophobic. While the ratings say 5star- it is no where close to a 5star...more like a 3star hotel.
The staff and the food were excelente. None
Room was somewhat shabby. Despite large size, flow in unit was awful and bathroom tiny. Just did not have a good feel.
Too cheap and therefore there is no single chair in room. The only thing you can do is luy down on the bed
The remolding was very nice and they now have a full time restaurant. All staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. We had to extend stay due to illness and required late room cleaning and it was no problem and met cheerfully. At Plaza hotel 3 months ago, if you were not out of your room by 2pm, forget having it cleaned or fresh towels and that claims to be a 5 star. The room is large, mini suite at a near economy price. You can spend a lot more at other hotels for little difference and you can spend a little less and get a lot less. Our room is 3 times the size for only $20 per day difference than the last ostensible 4 star. This hotel borders on 5 star. Not the best location for business but nice for sightseeing.
The location was very good. 20 seconds walking to the nearest metro station, 2 blocks away from "Av. 9 de Julio" and 1 block to "Calle Florida". Breakfast was fantastic, with variety and quality. There is wi-fi internet in the hotel but (we wonder why) the hotel requests the payment of an expensive daily rate (ARS$20, USD$7, €4) for its use. There are two computers in the lobby, free of charge, but you need to wait and it's not as confortable as using your own computer.
Location, comfortable. Staff is very kind.
the staff are really accessible and friendly, the location is excellent and the beds are very comfortable.
Location was central and with easy access; Social areas were big and confortable; Some problems in room maintenance and the hotel staff took too much time to solve them
Very convenient location, very helpful staff.
The cooked breakfast was substantial with a variety of choices i.e. juices, fresh fruit, dessert. In San Martin plaza and a 5 min walk to the shopping precinct and Pacific Galleria. Room was too small, no room around the bed and between bed and cupboard.
price, location, breakfast bathroom was rediculously small and shower drained out of its area, very poor lighting generally, room needed repairs, also unclean
The location was great. The decor was modern. The breakfast provided was ample in variety of foods and choices provided. The friendly hotel staff was responsive to all of our requests. The elevators sometimes did not work. The beds were very firm.
Nice hotel but very noisy, the street outside is very busy to the early hours and there is no sound insulation Noise level from the street
they upgraded my room on their initiative without any further charge from classic level to club level the opening timetable of the breakfast halls should be settled at the same time, some colleagues could start at 6.30 at 3rd floor, while at 21st floor only at 7. If you have to leave very early and you are club level
Excellent address just in the corner of Florida and Galerias Pacífico, wonderful breakfast and very clean and comfortable rooms. Staff very kind. Large pool. Excellent cost- benefift. Excelente localização, café-da -manhã e quartos limpos e confortáveis. Funcionários muito atenciosos. Piscina grande. Excelente custo- benefício. No
The staff atitude I did not like that breakfast was not included
rude stafff you increased my night rate midweek at a much higher price than for the other nights tell me why?i will never use you or expedia ever again i am writing to the holiday critics to warn them i am going to try and get a refund by going to the trading standards i hope they can help
Handy location for most of the activities I attended in Buenos Aires. Friendly staff. Decor is dated. Food was second rate. Hotel doesn't justify a 5 star rating.
The staff were excellent
They did not have adaptors for eletricity
Comfort and in down town. Easy for travellers and perfect location.
Hostess are helpful Claim a 5 star hotel it's a joke. I would not say that is a disaster but price does not worth the old facilities from the 70's. Standard room is not update, old toilets and broken furnisher. Hello? This is not what I would expect on a Sheraton but not even on a 5 star hotel. The area is not the best in the city. I truly recommend you any boutique hotel brand new in Palermo and half price. This probably was one of the best hotels in BA but not any more.
It was near the city and shopping was convenient. Good security and service but may need some upgrade for the interiors. Too busy with so many people coming and going. Would be nice if they had some fine dining at the lobby.
helpful staff, nice breakfast the swimming pool is open only from 3 to 7 pm - very inconvenient
The room is big, the bed is large and comfortable, good pillows, good shower, good location. The window didn't close properly, which made the room quite noisy. Some of the bathroom fixtures were not working. One of the bedside lamps didn't work.
convenient location easy access to different sights one room in particular was unkept...faucets leaking etc
The staff The price you consign das not inckude the taxes., please sean the total prices
The hotel is in a good location close to Santa Fe Av. The room was big and the bed was so comfortable. The staff were very gentle especially Mariano and Julian.
Location Building needs more maintenance. Towels are too old.
our room was clean and the hotel staff were very helpful. The hotel had internet facilites which werre fast and we were also able to print at nil cost. We were very happy with the variety offered in their buffet beakfast, the waiters spoke English and were polite. unfortunately, staff are not familiar with lactose intolerance condition, therefore when we requested soy milk as a substitute for milk, we were given low fat milk. Other places in Buenos Aires and Cordoba also do not cater for this, including Starbucks.
A clean friendly hotel with super buffet style breakfast, in an excellent loacation for visiting all the attractions and shops in the city
Excellent service from friendly staff Great breafast Very convienent location close to everything Good value for money. The carpet in our room was worn and dirty, the overall condition was tired, ie drapes not running in their tracks walls marked the soundproofing was poor as you could hear slot of plumbing noises , the window didn't seal properly letting in cold air
We were happy with our stay there and the staff were very helpful. The location of the hotel was excellent for those wishing to walk around the city. Bed was clean and comfortable , bathroom also clean with nice towels. The curtains seemed rather dusty and the carpet stained in spots. The breakfast was average but in line with other South American Hotels of this calibre.
Good basic room reasonable breakfast Staff intrusively helpful.
Room was large. Plenty of storage space. Bed was comfortable. Staff helpful (although very laid back and never in a hurry!). Close to a busy street with plenty of cafes etc. Good breakfast. Like most hotels noise from the corridor was loud and it appears people socialise a lot later in South America and are noisy when they come in - a lot of talking at high volume.
Even though the hotel is dated, it has been renovated to a good standard. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the breakfast they serve is great (hot and cold). Good location to shopping and the tourist sights. I would recommend to all and would stay there again.
Restaurant, porters, bathroom, foyer desk staff unfriendly, location noisy, guests noisy e.g. teenage cricket team playing cricket in the hall outside our room at 1am, yelling & playing loud music at other times - staff seemed not to care as there were a lot more of them than of us!
